Chapter 3
CHAPTER 3 - BLOOD
The guy with the mask on kept running and running. I dug my feet into the path behind me, and made it so he couldn't run. The mask was different from yesterday. It had bigger eyes slits.
"Who are you?" I ask, ripping my hand away from his grasp.
"I'm Alfie. But that doesn't matter. We need to go." He says, grabbing my hand. He breaks off into a run again. I roll my eyes, and stop. I could hear a scream. I let go of him, and run. He follows me, yelling out my name.
"Aria! Get back here!" He yells, getting closer. Eventually the screams stop, and so do we.
"Aria, we need to leave-" He starts, but I stop him.
"I don't need to do anything! Go away if you're so concerned!" I yell, running again. It was his time to roll his eyes.
"Aria, no one was screaming-" he starts, but another scream escapes through the heart of the forest we were in.
"Yes. They were." I say, running toward the scream before the sound left. Alfie follows me, making me run faster.
Footprints tainted with blood were on the footpath of the forest. I almost gagged from the smell of all the blood.
And there she was. A teenage girl. Naked, with blood dripping down her neck. I rush down to her, and see she wasn't alone.
There was a teenage boy lying next to her, carrying a bottle. Of blood. He was of course alive, but she wasn't as fortunate.
"Aria, get back-" warns Alfie, but that teenage but was too fast for either of us. Minutes later, that boy was on top of me, saying all these words. Alfie was watching, looking like he was thinking about something.
"Aria. Such a shame that she's going to die soon, isn't it little boy?" He hisses at Alfie, before he sank canines into my neck. I screamed, and straight away tried to kick him away.
But he was as hard as rock. I couldn't slap, hit or kick him away.
"St-Stop it!" I yell. Trying to get through all the pain. I bite my lip, and hold back a scream. But seconds later, Alfie had ripped him off me. My hands were balled into fists from the pain, and I was fighting off a scream. I couldn't see clearly, and it felt like the whole forest was swirling. From what I could hear, Alfie was getting violent. Really violent. As soon as the scream escaped my lips, I put a fist to my mouth.
Minutes later, Alfie was carrying me. I was fighting against, him because I didn't even know him.
"Why- why are you here?" I ask, putting a hand on my neck.
"I was told to keep an eye on you. And i'm happy I did."he says, looking behind him. That bloodsucking maniac had ran off, when a growl had escaped from Alfie's lips.
"I-I- Thank you." I manage, before closing my eyes. He smiles, but I don't see anything else.
He kept carrying me for ages. I almost wanted for him to drop me, because my whole world was swirling. But he didn't. He held me until all the swirling stopped. He hekd me when I cried over the pain.
"Shsh. Everything's going to be just fine." He says, propping himself onto a fallen over tree.
"Who- who was that?" I ask, closing my eyes.
"That was a vampire. Edwin. He- it was a trap. And he got what he wanted." He says, combing is hands through my hair.
"What did he want?" I ask, crossing my arms tightly.
"Your blood." He says, before getting up, and walking away from the forest. My blood?
