Chapter 30: Magmar
Fawn's POV
"So, what should we do now?" I asked, gesturing to the empty space where Herobrine and Vortex once stood.
"Well, obviously, we must follow them!" Cara said, and Angel nodded.
"Does Herobrine's mansion have wing room?" Angel asked.
"I don't think he as wing-room, but I'm sure you can wind up with a room." Sparrow said, waving his jazz hands. "Get it, cause you know, you so big you can get yourself a room if you asked."
"Bleh." the pigmen standing next to me said. "I'm sure my buddy over here could tell a better pun or two."
"I-I can?" the second pigmen stuttered.
"Look, let's get back to the mansion, o.k guys?" I said, raising my hands. "And.......off we go!"
I raised my hands, and green sparks swirled around the group. Angel flapped his wings in surprise, and all anyone could see was a tornado of green, and the stray feathers of Angel. As I closed my eyes and thought of Herobrine's palace, I felt a presence.
"Well, isn't this interesting..." a voice said in my head, it's voice glitching toward the edge of the phrase. "And here, I thought the AUs were a mistake; the biggest one has been standing in front of my face the whole time."
And just like that, the voice was gone. Unfortunately, that distraction had lead to us getting a cliff side view of Herobrine's palace. Angel had knocked Cosmelia over just in time, a boiling swab of lava splashing dangerously close to the group. Even Angel was wincing, and trying to avoid the heat by standing in the shade, but then, is there anywhere in the Nether that isn't hot?
"Let's just head into the mansion." Cosmelia said uneasily, glancing occasionally at the lava stream nearby. "Angel, could you fly us there?"
"Sure thing." Angel said, opening his wings so that everyone could climb on. "I'm starting to hate this heat."
Although technically, I was from the Nether, I didn't exactly enjoy visits to the Nether. For one, it was incredibly hot, and that was just indoors, though that did explain the broken AC. The Nether also felt incredibly natural. Replacing water with lava, and pigs as pigmen, it was a hellish landscape. Still, it felt like a home to me..
"We're almost there!" Angel said, his wings taking on a new burst of speed. "It's just that, I feel something here. Something like..another dragon?"
"I'm not sure, but I feel it too." Cara said, rubbing her arm uncomfortably.
"Same here." Cosmelia said, prodding me. "Don't you feel it too?"
Magic..isn't something explained in words. It's a presence, an ability..and a gift. Only some have the ability to contain it, others to manipulate it, but to actually use magic is a whole other matter. ANy magical being, Angel, Cara, Herobrine..you could sense a magical presence, a being of power. And I felt what Cosmelia meant.
It at first was a dull beat, but as we flew closer and closer to Herobrine palace, the pace quickened, faster and faster. Not only was this worrying, it also felt very much like Angel, a dragon if anything.
Just as we headed over a lava river, the river erupted in a flurry of lava. As Angel dodged the incoming projectiles, I made out a figure, double the size of Angel.
It was a dragon, a flaming dragon. The dragon's wingtips were literally flickering with flames, and he examined us carefully, puffing a snort of steam.
"So, you're the one they've been talking about.." the dragon boomed.
"Umm, yeah, but who are you?" I said.
"Well, my name is Magmar, and I suppose I'll help your cause."
"You mean, to destroy Notch?" I asked.
"Not exactly. Shall I tell you a story?"
I hesitated an answer. "We kind of have to go meet Herobrine at the mansion so..."
"I see.." Magmar said thoughtfully. "May I meet you tomorrow, at 7 P.M. Meet me at the magma river."
"I'll see you later!" I said, and I blinked out of my momentary silence.
"Um, what was that about?" Sparrow asked, squinting at me. "It's getting awfully suspicious."
"I'm sure it's nothing!" Cara said. "Maybe it's just a Brine thing?"
"Yeah, it's a Brine thing." I said, my voice trailing off. "After all, you have to have an open-mind to things, and honestly, I'm known to day-dream occasionally."
"Wait, wait, can I say something?" Sparrow said, and puffed his chest up. "Are you talking with a dragon through your mind."
It was quiet except for the bubbling of lava. Even Angel, who was normally chatty, was actually momentarily stunned. How could Sparrow even know that we could through our minds? Or, maybe he was guessing, but he said that response so confidently, that even Herobrine would falter.
"Heheh, you're kidding, right?" I asked, trying to hide suspicion. "I mean, the chances of talking mentally is improbable."
"But not impossible!" Sparrow responded back, smiling as he said the words. "Are you denying a response?"
Before I could say anything, Angel abruptly landed on the ground, and to my relief, Sparrow didn't say another word. We unsaddled from Angel, and I rubbed Angel on the head, who in turn said thanks in reply.
"And finally, we're here!" Cosmelia said, her cloak brushing against Sparrow. "I believe it took a lot longer than I thought."
"Maybe because that lava dragon blocked our way." David said, clearly annoyed, and huffed into Herobrine's palace.
"I agree with him." Angel said.
"Yeah, that's true. " I said out loud, and then hushed up. "I mean, yeah, the lava dragon obviously blocked our way, which costed us time, Cos."
"Don't call me Cos." Cosmelia said stiffly. "Do you know who I am?"
"Let me guess, a ignorant sorceress?"I replied, and that sent Cosmelia toward the mansion, just as annoyed as David was.
"You really have a way with people, don't you?" Angel said, and I chuckled.
"Yeah, have a pretty good reputation with people. I just don't understand why they keep steaming off. " I said in response, and Angel groaned.
"Spare me from the puns." Angel moaned, covering his eyes.
"Sure thing!" I said.
"You want to head in?" Sparrow asked, and I nodded.
"Angel, do you think you could get inside the mansion?" I asked out loud, and Herobrine appeared.
"I'm sure we can." Herobrine said, gesturing to Angel, who was nodding thoughtfully at Herobrine.
"Well, that's good news." I replied, and Herobrine smiled.
"Fawn, you should head in." Herobrine said, stroking Angel's horns. "The kingdom's waiting."
"Wait, do you mean, the Nether Kingdom?" Sparrow asked, his eyes becoming round pools.
"Well, them too, but really, all my subjects, including the Mob Kings." Herobrine said.
"Wow." I said quietly. "That's certainly a feat."
"We do have the threat of Notch." Herobrine replied, and started to herd the rest of us in. "Now come on, the Kingdoms have been waiting for a while!"
And we headed into the throne room.

Okay, guys, please just remind me to publish more often. I will tell you this now; I probably will end up missing a week of publishing. Also, I've been trying to make the chapters up to 1000 words, so that another excuse in mind. I'm planning on publishing the third book on Dec. 1st, so that should give me time to get some chapters written up early.
I haven't forgotten about the book for 100 followers. That will be out.....I'll say Saturday. It will be an ask book including all the characters in both Herobrine: The Truth, as well as The Shadow Within.
That's all for now, so see ya later Creepers!
