Chapter 2: The Challenges
Fawn's POV
The Nether looked like it normally did, but with a slight twist to it. The entrance to the fortress was ravaged, with chunks of the bridge taken out. Pigmen worked hurriedly as they started replacing the blocks, and some looked toward us as if expecting something.
I looked toward Herobrine, and he shook his head. Another time... He seemed to say. I walked up to a baby pigman who was huddling near his mother. He snorted nervously as I approached him. I nodded and tossed him a couple of carrots I had pillaged. He nodded his head, and rushed up to hug me. I greeted it with a reaction that I couldn't place. Sadness? Anger? A spot of annoyance?
I waited until he let me go, and then I returned to my group.
"Was that really necessary?" Herobrine asked.
"Yes." I growled. "Was that really necessary."
"You know, its not time for a dogfight, is it?" Kai reminded.
"You're right." Herobrine mumbled. "Come on."

I stood up on the ground, and soon realized that a lava parkour was in front of me. Stone blocks climbed up high, and ladders were scattered all across. Lava bubbled in front of me and I backed away and gripped my sword tightly.
"Now, without your powers, you should be able to complete this parkour. With your powers, you should be able to kill the skeletons while on the parkour." Herobrine shouted through the parkour.
"Wait, what?" I replied, genuinely confused. "That's not going to happen."
Herobrine smirked. "If you can defeat the skeletons, I mean. Now go, stand on the pressure plate please."
I groaned and walked over to where the pressure plate was, and could hear the steady click of it under my feet. I looked at the parkour threateningly, and I felt like it trembled, just so ever slightly. All of a sudden, a terrible screeching came on the speaker intercom, and I clamped my hands over my ears so hopefully, my ear drums wouldn't bleed.
"Sorry 'bout that." Herobrine replied, poking his ear. "That was quite loud. Anyway, here's what I came to talk about. The skeletons will be spawning approximately 10 seconds after the beep. " Like said, a blaring beep came over the intercom. "The challenge will start shortly after."
I grasped my sword Serphentis tightly, and waited patiently until the beep blared again and I stared at the place where the skeletons would spawn. Hopefully, I wouldn't end up being burnt to a crisp and have arrows sticking out everywhere.
"Ready, set, go!" the voice on the speaker yelled, and the first skeleton spawned. It was a baby skeleton with a diamond helmet on its head and I slowly walked over to it. It charged at me, but I waited as he came closer.
"You're a good skeleton aren't you?" I responded, and the skeleton stopped in its tracks. All around, skeletons that had spawned were staring at the two of us, wondering what would happen. I pulled a miniature bow that I had crafted when I was little, and handed it to the skeleton. "For you, in case you're in a jam."
"Who are you?" the skeleton replied, its voice sounding like a whisper.
"Why, couldn't you tell?" I asked, gesturing to the sword and the hoodie. The skeleton looked at everything carefully, and his eyes slowly widened until they were the size of a small slimeball.
"Are you, the Creeper Queen?" he asked, holding his bow carefully.
"Yes, I am." I replied. I looked toward a tall skeleton, climbing a couple inches taller than I was. "Could I borrow that bow real quick?" I asked. It nodded.
I grabbed the bow, and could tell by the craftsmanship that it was a very old bow. Strange markings were engraved on the wood, and I could tell by the symbols, that they were part of the Skeleton's language, Bonium. I angled it carefully and made sure that it was lined up in turn with the button on the wall. I let go of the string, and watched as the arrow left the bow, and I willed for the arrow to reach its mark. The arrow danced through the air and it neared its mark. As it came closer, a jet of lava grabbed at the arrow as if it was a net, and the arrow was a butterfly. The arrow flew through, just barely, and hit its mark. Immediately, a buzzer went off, and I smiled.
"So, you completed the first challenge, but there are yet two more challenges awaiting you." I groaned as he said that. Just as quick as he said that, sparks flew around me, and I waved to the skeletons as I was teleported to an arena.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Welcome to the Titan Arena, were the biggest of the mobs fight. Do you have the guts to do this? Well, not like you have an option." Herobrine said. "First, the rules. You can tap out, and you can use weapon of choice. Welcome to the arena, we have the Giant!"
A giant thud rumbled through the arena, and it took willpower to stay on my feet. A massive gate engraved with strange marks and spikes, and I craned my neck to see the giant.
It was huge, simply. Hopefully, this was the only mob I would have the fight. Its big eyes, about the size of a car looked down at me. It bent down, and grumbled in Groan.
"So, what is your name. Might as well know competition before you dead." the giant said.
"Erm, my name is Fawn, but you may know me as The Creeper Queen." I said, and the giant bent its head in sincerity.
"It is an honor to meet you Fawn." he said. He stood up slowly, and pulled a giant axe, with specks of blood on the blade. Probably from earlier victims.
Herobrine glided toward the middle of us, and smiled. "Now, lets have a fair fight here. No glitching, or hacks, for that will lead into an immediate disqualification Ok? Now, let's start!"
I ran up first, and started to climb up the zombie's leg. I was about to his thigh, but I was knocked backwards into the wall, and I stayed there, slumped. Blood trickled down my arm, and I looked toward the giant. He smirked, and beckoned me forward. I slowly got up to my feet, and hobbled forward. Then, with no warning, I rushed at the giant, and climbed up the giant. Each couple of seconds, I would climb up further and further up the giant. Finally, I reached the giant's neck, and pulled out my sword. I gently pressed the sword onto his neck, and a small trickle of blood came out of the cut.
"Do you surrender?" I asked.
"No." he said, and tried to grab me. I crawled around the neck, and went on the other side. I pushed the sword deeper into his neck. A steady trickle of blood poured down his neck.
"Do you surrender." I said, more forcefully. "I will not mind pushing this sword deeper.
The zombie laughed. "I will, for your sake." He pulled out a hand, and I jumped onto it.
The crowd cheered, and I couldn't help grinning. When I was taking in the praise, a thought crossed my mind. Maybe my powers are still here, maybe a couple anywhere Purple sparks flew around me as I was teleported to my last challenge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was teleported to a dark room, with only one torch swinging from the ceiling. Herobrine stood next to a chair, where a person laid, blindfolded and tied to a chair.
"For your last challenge, you must kill the occupant in the seat." he said, and my eyes doubled in size.
"Wait, repeat that again."
"Oh fine; for your last challenge, you must kill the person in the chair."
I looked toward the person in the chair and stared at Herobrine quickly glancing back and forth. I looked into the diamond blue eyes that were brimmed with tears. Her blond hair was spread out, and I couldn't help but thinking of seeing her somewhere. I turned to Herobrine and sighed.
"I can't do this." I said.
"Wait, what did you say?" Herobrine asked, something sparking in his eyes.
"I said, I'm not going to kill her." I said. "I'm may be born from you, and you may be heartless and cold, but just because I'm your daughter, doesn't mean I have to kill someone for you."
I watched as Herobrine stood still, then his eyes started to well up with tears. With an a cross between a smile and a frown, uncertain what to wear on his face. He ran toward me, tears running down his face. "Your home," he whispered. "Your home."

So, I am so very sorry for keeping this story on a hold for almost a month, but school's been annoying. I hope that this chapter was somewhat satisfying, as I have wrote about 1,500 words in this chapter. This is a real accomplishment.
Thanks for reading my cweepers!
