27: The Battle and the Birth

Chapter 27:  The Battle and the Birth

The sound of steel clashing echoed through the battlefield. The sky was thick with the smoke of burning arrows, the ground soaked in blood. Taehyung and Jungkook fought relentlessly, their blades swift and merciless. Each enemy that fell was a step closer to victory, but war had no mercy—it consumed everything in its path.

A war messenger, breathless and bloodied, rode through the ranks, his voice breaking through the chaos.

"Your Majesty! Your Highness! The Queen—she is in labor! She needs you both at the palace!"

Jungkook’s sword stilled for just a moment, his heart hammering in his chest. YN. Their child. A surge of panic and urgency threatened to overwhelm him.

Taehyung turned to Namjoon, his expression torn between duty and love. "The war isn’t over yet—"

Namjoon, the ever-reliable protector, grasped Taehyung’s shoulder firmly. "It will be, soon. But right now, your place is by her side. I will finish this. Go."

Jungkook clenched his fists, torn between loyalty to his people and the woman carrying their future. But one look at Namjoon’s steady gaze and he knew—the kingdom could survive a battle without them, but YN needed them now.

"Protect our people," Jungkook said, before he and Taehyung mounted their horses and charged toward the palace.

The Palace – YN’s Chambers

Pain ripped through YN’s body as another contraction hit, her fingers clutching the sheets beneath her. The palace healers rushed around her, whispering words of encouragement, but all she wanted—no, needed—was them.

"Where are they?" she gasped, her body trembling.

"They are coming, Your Majesty," one of the midwives assured her. "Hold on just a little longer."

Tears blurred her vision, but before she could break, the chamber doors burst open. Taehyung and Jungkook rushed inside, their armor still stained with battle, their eyes filled with worry and love.

"YN," Taehyung breathed, kneeling beside her and taking her hand.

Jungkook pressed a kiss to her damp forehead, his own hands trembling as he stroked her hair. "We’re here, baby. We’re right here."

With them by her side, she found strength she never knew she had.

"Then let’s meet our child," she whispered, gripping their hands as another wave of pain hit.

And as the war raged outside, inside the palace, a new life was about to begin.
