Chapter 15: A Home of Our Own ⚔

The road stretched endlessly before them, winding through lush forests and rolling hills. The scent of fresh earth and wildflowers replaced the acrid stench of blood and battle, a quiet promise that the past was truly behind them.

For the first time in years, there was no rush—no desperate chase, no enemy lurking in the shadows. Just the sound of their footsteps, the whisper of the wind, and the steady beat of their hearts.

YN walked between Taehyung and Jungkook, their hands brushing against hers in quiet reassurance. Neither of them spoke much, but they didn’t need to.

They were together. That was enough.

🌿 A Village Untouched by Time 🌿

After weeks of travel, they found it.

A small village hidden deep in the mountains, untouched by war. The people here moved at a slow, steady pace, their lives woven with simplicity. Farmers tilled the fields, children ran barefoot through the dirt paths, and the scent of fresh bread filled the air.

It was nothing like the world they had come from.

“This feels… different,” YN murmured as she stood at the entrance, her fingers curling around the strap of her bag.

Jungkook glanced around, nodding. “No soldiers. No fear.”

Taehyung exhaled slowly. “It feels like home.”

🏡 Settling In 🏡

The village elder, an older woman with wise eyes and a knowing smile, welcomed them without question. “You’ve traveled far,” she said, leading them to an empty cottage near the edge of town. “Rest. Heal. The past does not live here.”

The cottage was small but sturdy, its wooden beams weathered by time. A fireplace, a simple bed, and a tiny kitchen—it wasn’t much, but it was theirs.

That night, as they lay together in the unfamiliar bed, YN stared at the ceiling, listening to the quiet crackle of the fire.

Jungkook shifted beside her, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on her wrist. “It’s too quiet.”

Taehyung chuckled, pulling them both closer. “We’ll get used to it.”

YN let out a slow breath. Maybe, just maybe, they would.

☀️ Learning to Live ☀️

Days passed, and for the first time, they weren’t just surviving—they were living.

Jungkook found work hunting with the village men, his sharp instincts making him a natural. Taehyung, ever the protector, helped repair the village walls and train the younger boys in self-defense.

And YN?

She learned how to live without looking over her shoulder.

She helped the village women bake bread, laughed with the children as they braided flowers into her hair, and sat by the river, watching the water flow endlessly into the horizon.

One evening, she stood at the edge of the fields, watching the sunset paint the sky in gold and crimson.

Taehyung found her there, his presence as steady as the mountains around them.

“You don’t have to be strong all the time,” he murmured, his fingers brushing against hers.

YN swallowed, her voice barely above a whisper. “I don’t know how to be anything else.”

Jungkook appeared on her other side, smirking. “Then we’ll teach you.”

And for the first time in forever, she thought maybe—just maybe—they could.
