It was a cool evening, chilly breeze filled the empty roads and each nook and corner of the town. Initially, Jungkook was bored so she decided to make their room cosy and welcoming.

Apparently, Her ceo husband was somewhere absorbed in his work, probably tapping the keys of his keyboard—nose buried in the spreadsheets and computer screen.

In the room, Jungkook's fingers moved as she arranged pretty flowers in a flute glass vase. The clear transparent glass reflected the room lights as jungkook carefully filled it with water. She carefully trimmed the stems and placed them in the vase, adjusting the delicate blooms until they looked just right. Her eyes sparkled with happiness as she admired her work.

She aligned the cushions on the couch and draped a soft fluffy blanket over it. Lighting a few rose-scented candles, Jungkook shifted the ivory light to warm ones and stood in the centre of the room, admiring it. The scent of the flowers and candles diffused the room, mingling with the faint glow of the warm lamp light.

Jungkook looked around the room, her heart full of hope. "I wonder how he'll react to this," she thought, smiling softly. "He's so used to his dark, intense surroundings—always serious and focused. But this... this is different. The soft glow, the gentle scent... I hope it brings him some peace."

She imagined Taehyung stepping through the door, his eyes widening at the sight of the cosy setup. "Will he be surprised? Maybe even a little touched?" she mused.

"I've tried to create a little sanctuary for him, away from all the stress and the work. I hope he sees it as a warm embrace after a long day."

Jungkook hummed quietly to herself, enjoying the peaceful task and imagining how much Taehyung would react seeing the cosy setup.

She turned off the main light and adjusted the lamp to a softer glow, letting the room bathe in its comforting light.

As Jungkook stood back, taking in the scene, she smoothed down the edge of a cushion with a satisfied nod.

Just then, a newly appointed house helper knocked gently on the slightly ajar door. Balancing a pile of laundered and ironed clothes in her arms, she peeked inside casually, unaware of the beauty.

Her breath caught as she took in the scene before her.

Jungkook stood in the softly lit room. Her soft silky hair fell over her shoulders, the dark strands partially covering her face.

Jungkook looked up from her task and noticed the house helper standing by the door. With a warm smile, she stepped forward and gently took clothes from the helper's arms.

"Let me help you with that," Jungkook said softly, her voice like a gentle breeze in the summer afternoon.

The house helper blinked, coming out of her reverie.

"Oh, thank you, These clothes are younger master's, freshly laundered and ironed."

Jungkook's smile widened as she carefully held the pile of a shirt. " thank you"

The house helper nodded, still admiring Jungkook's elegant movements. "You are like a princess straight out of those romance books. It's like I'm witnessing a scene from a fairy tale."

Jungkook laughed softly, her cheeks slightly flushed. "You're too kind."

the house helper smiled and left Jungkook's presence, she couldn't contain her excitement. She hurriedly joined her co-workers in the break room.

"Have you all seen Young master's wife? She's like an angel!" the house helper exclaimed, her eyes wide with awe. "I swear, she looks like she stepped out of a fairy tale."

Her co-workers glanced up, surprised but expected by the sudden admiration. After all, Jungkook's beauty is not a joke.

"She was so kind and graceful," the house helper continued, "I couldn't believe it when I saw her arranging flowers and taking care of the clothes herself. And her smile—it's so warm, so bright, it could light up the whole room."

The others exchanged impressed glances, "Sounds like you had quite the encounter,"

The house helper nodded vigorously, barely able to contain her excitement.

Jungkook continued her work in the room, her thoughts wandered to the bold move, the first intimate moment initiated by Taehyung. A soft blush crept onto her cheeks, warming her face.

She paused for a moment. The memory of the tender moment made her heart flutter, and she couldn't help but smile shyly to herself.

Jungkook sat at the edge of the bed, her fingers folding a crisp shirt. She remembered how, in the heat of their gaze, her courage had faltered.

Her daydreaming was interrupted by the sudden ring of her mobile phone. Frowning at the unfamiliar number flashing on the screen, Jungkook hesitated before answering.

"Hello, Kim Jungkook speaking," Jungkook initiated.

On the other end, a voice mimicked her greeting. "Hello, Kim Jungkook speaking," the person repeated.

Jungkook's face lit up with a smile as she recognized her friend's voice.

"Ara?" she asked.

From the other end, Ara's voice came, "Oh! It's nice you remembered me, I thought I was dead for you. Where have you been hiding, huh? I've been trying to reach you!"

Jungkook chuckled, "Oh, you know me—just caught up in my little world. What's up?"

"Caught up, indeed. I've been wanting to catch up with you. Are you free to meet up today? I need to spill some gossip and hear all about your life!"

Jungkook glanced at the neat room she had just cleaned. " How about later this evening?"

Ara responded. "Perfect! Let's meet at that café we like. I'll be there in an hour. Can't wait to see you!"

Jungkook agreed, "Sounds great. See you soon, Ara."

After hanging up, Jungkook couldn't help but smile, excited for the evening ahead. Jungkook finished getting ready and went to find Taehyung in his study.

Jungkook approached him with a soft smile. "I'm heading out to meet Ara. I'll be back later."

Taehyung looked up from his work. He gave a brief nod, acknowledging her departure.

"Alright. Have a good time."

The memory of their first intimate moment flashed before their eyes, causing them to tear apart their gaze. Jungkook made her way out while taehyung resumed working, unaware of the soft blush on their ear tips.

Jungkook stepped out, feeling the cool evening air and headed towards the café, eager to catch up with her friend.

Jungkook pulled the glass door of the café and the aroma of coffee and baked bread greeted her. The doorbell chimed softly. She scanned the room and spotted Ara sitting by the window, absorbed in a menu.

Jungkook approached with a bright smile and called out, "Ara!"

Ara looked up, her face lighting up in recognition. She waved energetically, motioning for Jungkook to join her. "Jungkook!"

Jungkook moved into the seat opposite Ara, and they exchanged warm hugs before settling into their seats.

They sat down, and Ara leaned forward with a curious expression and scanned Jungkook. Jungkook raised an eyebrow and then fliched at Ara's outburst.

"You stupid bunny-like human! How dare you ghost me? Now, spill every SINGLE detail from the day you vanished from the dressing room during the wedding with Sangwoon!"

Jungkook's eyes widened as she shifted her gaze to the table. Her fingers nervously traced the edges of the menu card, her cheeks flushing slightly in embarrassment.

Ara signalled a waiter to bring over their order, her eyes never leaving Jungkook. The clatter of cups and plates in the background could only be heard as the duo sat in silence.

With a deep breath, Jungkook began to recount the events.

"Alright, alright. I'll tell you everything. I—I'm sorry, Ara. It's complicated," Jungkook stammered, trying to gather her thoughts.

Ara's expression softened slightly but she was still frustrated. "Complicated or not, you owe me an explanation, bish. I thought we were best friends. Why did you suddenly vanish and get married to kim Taehyung without a word?"

Jungkook hesitated for a moment, her thoughts racing.

Should I tell Ara about Mr. Kim's curse? but it's personal. I don't want to betray his trust by spilling something so sensitive, even if Ara is my best friend.

Jungkook looked up at Ara, who flicked her fingers impatiently, making Jungkook flinch. Smiling sheepishly, Jungkook began to weave her story.

"Well," Jungkook started, trying to sound casual, "that day, Mr. Kim came to me with a marriage proposal. He said it was something his mother strongly wanted and he wanted to fulfil her wishes. I was surprised, of course. We had a long discussion about it, and eventually, I agreed. There was a lot of pressure but it seemed like the right thing to do at the time."

Jungkook's hands fidgeted with her cup as she spoke, her gaze flickering between Ara and the table. "It was all very sudden and everything happened so quickly that I barely had a moment to process it."

Ara listened intently, nodding and occasionally raising an eyebrow at Jungkook's somewhat fake explanations.

Ara leaned forward, "So, you agreed to marry Taehyung because of his mother's wishes? That's... a lot to take in."

Jungkook nodded.

Ara sighed, her gaze softening. "I get that situations can be demanding, but you should have at least told me what was going on. It felt like you just vanished without a word."

Jungkook dropped her gaze, feeling bad for ghosting her friend, "I'm sorry, Ara. I didn't mean to leave you in the dark. Everything happened so fast, and I didn't know how to explain it properly. I should have reached out but I was overwhelmed and unsure how to handle it all."

Ara's expression remained sharp. "Well, I appreciate you finally telling me something. Just promise me that if something like this happens again, you won't shut me out. We're friends, and I want to be there for you."

Jungkook nodded earnestly. "I promise."

Ara leaned in, a smirk playing on her lips. "But Man, this sounds like a soap opera. You marrying someone out of nowhere, to a stranger—"

"He isn't a stranger," Jungkook interrupted.

Ara smirked and crossed her arms, "Uh uh, So, how is your stranger—I mean husband?"

Jungkook blushed, her fingers twisting her paper napkin. "Oh, come on, Ara. It wasn't like that. But Mr. Kim is charming and all. Although, it was pretty overwhelming initially."

Ara laughed, giving Jungkook a playful nudge. "Prince Charming of your fairytale, throw some light on his character,"

Jungkook looked away, trying to appear nonchalant and took a sip of her coffee. "Well, he's kind of a meanie sometimes, no, always! Like, he's all serious and ice-cold, but... when you get to know him, he's actually really caring."

Ara raised an eyebrow, clearly enjoying Jungkook's mixed signals. "Oh, so he's Mr. Cool on the outside but a softie on the inside? Sounds like a classic case of 'don't judge a book by its cover.'"

Jungkook nodded vigorously, her cheeks still pink. "Exactly! He's always so strict, but then he does these little things that show he actually cares. Like, he always making sure I'm comfortable and, it's kind of endearing."

Ara chuckled, leaning closer. "So, he's a bit of a tough guy with a heart of gold?"

Jungkook tried to hide a smile as she fiddled with her cup. "Yeah, something like that. Dangerous combination!"

Ara leaned in with a teasing grin, her eyes sparkling. "So, Jungkook, it sounds like you're totally head over heels for Taehyung. Am I right?"

Jungkook's cheeks flushed a deeper shade, and she shrugged, trying to act casual. "Oh, come on, Ara. It's not like that. I'm just telling you he's... complicated."

Ara raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it. "Sure, have you seen your face, it flushes like a delicate flower when you talk about him."

Jungkook rolled her eyes, "I'm not glowing. I'm just... explaining things."

Ara chuckled, leaning back with a satisfied look. The concerned friend took a breath of relief, "Thank god! You aren't married to that douchebag Sangwoon."

Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise. "Whoa, that came out of nowhere! I thought you liked him."

Ara shook her head, rolling her eyes. "Ugh, no way. Sangwoon's a total jerk. I'm glad you're with someone who actually makes you happy."

Jungkook blinked, then smiled, feeling a bit lighter. "Well, yeah. I'm relieved too.

Ara rolled her eyes. "He's a Casanova, you know."

Jungkook blinked in surprise. "Sangwoon? I didn't realize that."

Ara sighed, looking exasperated. "Oh yeah. He's got this whole charming persona but it's just a front. He's a smooth talker and a big flirt, but that's all there is to him."

Jungkook's eyes widened. "I had no idea. He always seemed so... polished."

Jungkook feeling relief. They both fell silent as Ara got busy on a call. Jungkook sat at the table, her fingers absently tracing the rim of her coffee cup. She stared out the window, lost in thought.

She fiddled with the edge of her napkin, her mind drifting between thoughts of her luck, Taehyung, and Sangwoon. Jungkook sighed softly, her gaze shifting to the people passing by outside. She took a small sip of her coffee,

Sangwoon was definitely not the guy I thought he was. It's a relief to know that I'm not stuck with him. I'm so glad I'm with Mr Kim instead.

When Ara returned from her call, Jungkook softly called out to her. Ara looked up, humming in response.

Jungkook fidgeted with the edges of her tissue paper, her gaze fixed on her lap.

"How does one realize that he or she is in love?" Jungkook asked softly.

Ara tilted her head, her index finger tapping her chin as she dwelled on the matter, "Hmm, that's a big question."

"It is like when you start caring about someone so much that their happiness becomes important to you, even if it means putting your feelings aside."

Jungkook nodded slowly.

"Yeah, It's just... sometimes it's hard to tell if it's love or just an infatuation."

Ara smiled gently. "It can be confusing. But You know you're in love when—"

The friend paused dramatically, then continued with a grin. "When your beloved's voice sounds like music to your ears. Or when you find yourself getting lost in their eyes, feeling like you could stare at them forever."

Jungkook's eyes widened.

"And everything around you starts to feel dreamy like you're in a movie. it's like the rest of the world fades away."

Ara added with a wink, "Also, you start finding little reasons to be near them, even if it's just to share a joke or sit in silence. And when you're apart, you miss them so much that it feels like something's missing from your day."

Jungkook got lost in thoughts of Taehyung, her starry gaze staring into nothing as she smiled softly. Ara noticed and waved her hand, finally poking Jungkook to bring her back to the present.

"To Earth, you bunny-like human!" Ara teased, chuckling as she saw Jungkook snap back to attention, her cheeks slightly flushed.

Ara smiled in relief, feeling happy for her friend. "Thank god you found someone who won't use you for their own benefit."

Jungkook frowned a hint of confusion in her eyes. "Use me? What do you mean? No one took advantage of me."

Ara's expression turned serious as she dropped the bomb. "Really? Then what about the 80 lakh cheque?"

Before Jungkook could react, she heard a loud shrill call behind her. "Kookie?"

Jungkook turned around to see Minjun standing there, waving cheerfully while his other hand was clutched by Taehyung. Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked at Taehyung, unsure how to respond. Jungkook stood up quickly.

Ara noticed that Jungkook was surprised by listening to the cheque matter and was possibly unaware of some things. Realizing the tension, Ara decided to lighten the mood. The friend also caught the soft blush on Jungkook's face and tried to divert the conversation away from the cheque topic.

With a playful glint in her eye, Ara nudged Jungkook gently. "Well, look at that! Seems like someone's a little flustered with her hubby around."

Jungkook's eyes widened, and she stammered slightly. "Ara, shush...."

The uncle-nephew duo approached Jungkook, and the ten-year-old kid tugged at her sleeve with excitement.

Jungkook bent down to Minjun's level, trying to calm her racing heart, the little boy grinned at her with innocent enthusiasm.

"Kookie! Guess what we did today?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with joy.

Taehyung stood behind him. Jungkook couldn't help but feel the flutter in her chest intensify under his gaze. She was still trying to process Ara's earlier revelation but Minjun's excitement was a welcome distraction.

Jungkook smiled, ruffling the boy's hair, "What did you two do?"

Minjun giggled, grabbing her hand and tugging her toward Taehyung.

"Uncle Tae bought me cake!" He beamed, proud of his day while Taehyung looked on, amused by the boy's enthusiasm.

Jungkook's eyes flickered to Taehyung, who was now standing closer. There was something in how he looked at her, something unreadable but comforting.

"So, Mrs. Kim," Taehyung said smoothly, his voice bringing her back to the moment.

"Are you ready to head home?" His words were simple, but the way he said them made her stomach do flips.

Jungkook hesitated, her mind briefly flashing back to Ara. The friend gave Jungkook a knowing look and playfully nudged her again.

"You two better get going. Can't keep the husband waiting, right?" she teased, winking.

Jungkook flushed at Ara's words and looked up, "Thanks, Ara. I'll catch up with you later."

Ara smiled and gave a small wave before heading off.

"Maybe Jungkook really has found someone who won't use her," Ara thought, relieved, though still wondering about the story behind the cheque.

Jungkook turned to Taehyung, their eyes meeting. Both were suddenly caught up in a flashback of their first cheek kiss, innocent yet unexpectedly intimate. It had left an undeniable imprint.

But the spell was broken when Minjun tugged at Jungkook's sleeve again, his puzzled expression bringing them both back to reality.

"Koo, are you coming?" he repeated, looking between the two adults with impatience, clearly confused by their sudden silence and intense staring.

Jungkook blinked, shaking herself from the memory and glanced at the boy with a smile. "Oh, right! Let's go"

they walked side by side, Jungkook asked with a curious tone, "You, here?"

Taehyung glanced at her, his hands tucked into his pant pockets. "Minjun dragged me here. This kid wants to eat red velvet cake."

His eyes flicked briefly towards the boy, who was eagerly leading the way.

Jungkook giggled softly, her cheeks slightly flushed. "Oh, red velvet cake sounds amazing!"

After they picked up the red velvet cake, Jungkook and Minjun spotted an ice cream cart nearby. They exchanged excited glances and then turned to Taehyung with their best puppy eyes.

Jungkook stepped closer, her eyes wide and pleading. "Mr kim, look! There's an ice cream cart. Can we get some?"

Minjun bounced on his toes, his eyes sparkling. "Yeah, please! Can we get ice cream too?"

Jungkook stepped forward and tugged taehyung's shirt sleeve to and fro, her starry eyes wide.

"Please Mr. Kimmmmmmm," Jungkook whined, at last, stretching the letter 'm'.

Taehyung looked at the pair, his expression softening just a bit as he saw their bright faces. He sighed softly, then gave a nod. "Alright, alright."

Jungkook's face lit up with a bright smile. "Thank you, Mr. Kim! You're the best!"

Minjun grinned widely and grabbed Jungkook's hand, pulling her toward the cart. "Come on, let's get our ice cream!"

The trio walked towards the park, the evening air was crisp and refreshing. Minjun skipped ahead, his excitement shown in the jumpy steps he took. he looked back at Jungkook and Taehyung. Jungkook, holding her ice cream carefully, matched Minjun's energy with her bubbly enthusiasm.

Taehyung followed behind, his gaze softening as he observed the interactions between Jungkook and Minjun. The park came into view, its paths lined with lights that created a warm glow around the pavement.

Jungkook glanced up at Taehyung, her eyes twinkling in the lamplight. "The park looks so pretty."

Taehyung nodded, his gaze following the path they were heading towards. "It does. It's a nice place to relax."

Minjun tugged at Jungkook's sleeve, "Let's find a spot to sit. I want to show you the cool spot I found earlier!"

Jungkook chuckled and nodded, "Lead the way!"

The park was quiet, with only the soft rustling of leaves and distant laughter echoing under the starry sky.

Minjun and Jungkook found a spot in the softly lit gazebo.

Minjun plopped down on the wooden bench, his eyes sparkling as he looked at Jungkook. "See? Isn't it awesome?"

Jungkook grinned widely, "It is! It feels like a scene from a movie!"

She took a moment to soak in the beauty around them—the gentle breeze, the fragrant flowers, and the stars twinkling above.

Taehyung leaned against the gazebo railing, arms crossed, observing them. He couldn't help but feel contentment seeing Jungkook so happy. His expression remained stoic but his eyes softened as he watched Jungkook and Minjun interact. He observed their happiness and felt a strange mix of emotions stirring within him. The sight of Jungkook's bright smile with Minjun's innocent joy tugged at something deep inside.

"What's your favourite flavour?" Jungkook asked as she held up her ice cream cone.

"Umm, I like a mint chocolate chip!" Minjun replied enthusiastically, taking a big lick of his cone. "But red velvet cake is still the best!"

Jungkook laughed, "You have to try ice cream cake sometime. It's like the best of both worlds!"

Taehyung couldn't help but feel warm as he watched them. He stayed back, letting them have their moment but never took his eyes off Jungkook. A part of him longed to join them, to sit beside her and feel that same lightness, be part of their laughter. But for now, he was content just watching, his heart quietly soaking in the scene.

"What about you, Mr. Kim?" Jungkook turned her gaze to Taehyung, "What's your favourite flavour?"

Taehyung shrugged, trying to play it cool, "I guess I'd have to say vanilla."

"Vanilla?" Jungkook raised an eyebrow, "So boring!"

"Sometimes boring is good, Mrs Kim." Taehyung shot back.

"Only if you pair it with something exciting!" Jungkook giggled.

Minjun joined in, bouncing in his seat. "Yeah! Like with chocolate sprinkles!"

Jungkook high-fived Minjun and then looked back at Taehyung, a soft smile spreading across her face.

Taehyung realized how much he treasured these little glimpses of happiness in his otherwise dark world. And even though he didn't show it, he was deeply grateful for the light that Jungkook and Minjun brought into his life, even if it was just in these small, fleeting moments.

"I will throw them away," The kid exclaimed, pointing to the wrappers.

Minjun skipped off to throw away their empty ice cream cones and the atmosphere around Taehyung and Jungkook shifted. With the boy momentarily gone, they found themselves leaning against the railing of the gazebo, the soft rustle of leaves surrounding them.

Taehyung and Jungkook were standing a little farther apart, their gazes occasionally meeting but quickly darting away, each lost in their thoughts.

At that moment, without even realizing it, they both took a small step forward.

One step closer. Step By Step!

A heartbeat later, they took another step, inching closer, their surroundings fading into the background as they focused on each other. The distance that once felt comfortable now seemed too vast, too filled with unspoken words and emotions.

Jungkook glanced up at Taehyung, her heart racing as their eyes locked. His soft expression melted away the barriers she had felt earlier. She took another step, feeling bold yet nervous, her breath catching in her throat.

Taehyung mirrored her action, closing the gap between them. His dark, stoic eyes held a warmth that made her pulse quicken.

With every step they took, the world around them blurred, and all that mattered was the silent understanding blossoming between them. Jungkook felt butterflies in her chest as they moved closer, the soft rustle of leaves whispering their secrets in the background.

One step, their shoulders gently brushing against each other. Jungkook felt a warmth spread through her, the slight contact sending a flurry of butterflies dancing in her stomach. She stole a glance at Taehyung, whose stoic expression softened in the dim light.

"Isn't it beautiful here?" Jungkook asked as she looked at the twinkling stars above and the way the park glowed with gentle light.

"Yeah," Taehyung replied. He shifted slightly, leaning more, closing the distance between them further. "It's peaceful."

The world around them faded as they stood, shoulder to shoulder, sharing the beauty of the night. Jungkook's heart pounded in her chest, each beat echoing the unspoken connection growing between them. She took a breath, gathering her courage, she turned slightly to face him more fully.

"Do you ever think about... us?" Jungkook asked, her voice trembling with vulnerability.

Taehyung didn't respond right away, his expression thoughtful. He turned to her.

"I do," Taehyung finally admitted, his voice softer than before. "More than I probably should."

Jungkook's breath hitched, her heart swelling at his confession. "Really?" she whispered, searching his eyes for reassurance.

"Really," he replied, his lips quirking up into a slight smile. "It's hard not to."

Just then, Minjun returned, bounding up to them with a bright grin, oblivious to the tender moment they had shared.

"Did you see the shooting star? I think it was the biggest one ever!" He beamed, taking his place between them.

"Yeah, it was amazing!" Jungkook said, trying to maintain her cheerful demeanour, though her heart was racing from the intimacy with Taehyung.

Taehyung chuckled softly, his eyes glancing at Jungkook before he focused on Minjun. "You have a good eye, kiddo."

As they chatted and laughed with Minjun, Jungkook glanced sideways at Taehyung, who was once again the stoic guardian, yet there was an undeniable softness in his gaze when he looked at her. She knew the night wasn't over yet and a part of her hoped they could find another moment, just the two of them, to explore the depths of their connection.

Later,

Minjun scratched his knees while running around, Jungkook quickly knelt beside him, her concern evident. "Oh, Minjun, are you okay?" she asked, gently inspecting his scraped knee.

Minjun nodded, his bottom lip quivering, but he tried to put on a brave face.

Taehyung joined them, his usual stoic expression softening as he placed a comforting hand on Minjun's shoulder. "it's okay. Big boys don't cry in small injuries."

Minjun looked up at them with wide eyes His teary orbs flickered between them, his little shoulders relaxing at their comfort.

As they tended to Minjun, an old granny approached, her eyes twinkling with warmth as she watched the tender scene.

"What a cute kid you have!" she said, "Indeed a happy family! Youngsters nowadays are rare to see like this."

Jungkook's face flushed a deep red and she stammered slightly as she tried to correct the granny. "Oh, um, we're not... I mean, Minjun isn't—"

But before Jungkook could finish her correction, she caught sight of Taehyung, who stood beside her, his usually composed face betraying him as his ears turned red.

His embarrassment was unmistakable, though his face remained calm.

The old granny simply smiled, oblivious to their awkwardness. Then, she waves them before shuffling along her way. The old lady left behind a moment of silence between Jungkook and Taehyung.

Jungkook glanced up at him, her cheeks still warm with embarrassment while Taehyung shifted slightly beside her, his hand moving to adjust his collar in an attempt to hide the redness creeping up his ears.

Taehyung was now looking ahead, his hands in his pockets, his stoic face back in place—but there was a faint hint of something softer, a warmth lingering beneath his expression.

Minjun, now unfazed by the scrape, hopped back on his feet and looked between them, his childish energy returning.

"I'm okay!" he declared, forgetting about the pain and he darted off to continue exploring the park.

Jungkook's gaze followed Minjun but her thoughts lingered on the granny's words. The idea of them being seen as a family made her heart flutter unexpectedly, leaving her with emotions she couldn't quite put into words.

Taehyung shifted closer, his shoulder brushing against hers, barely noticeable but just enough to make her feel.

Jungkook took a quiet breath. "She thought we were a family..." she murmured, more to herself than to him.

Taehyung didn't respond immediately but his hand moved slightly, brushing against hers as they stood by the railing. His fingers grazed her knuckles, a touch testing the boundaries of their proximity.

It wasn't a bold move but sent a shiver down her spine, the moment felt intimate in its simplicity.

Jungkook's eyes traced the movement of her husband.

Without thinking, her hand moved along the cool metal railing, inching closer to his. Her fingers trembled slightly as they made contact with his hand, grazing against the back of his knuckles.

Taehyung glanced down at her, his dark eyes flicking briefly to where her fingers had brushed his. He didn't say a word, but there was a shift in his expression—something softer, something knowing. He didn't pull away.

Instead, he allowed their hands to remain close, their fingers brushing lightly against each other. He tilted his head to glance at her from the corner of his eye, his voice low when he finally spoke.

"Does it bother you?" Taehyung finally asked as his eyes stayed fixed ahead, avoiding hers but carrying a depth she could feel.

Jungkook's breath hitched, and she looked up at him, her wide eyes meeting his intense, smouldering gaze. Her stomach flipped at his words. She wasn't sure if he meant them in a literal sense or something more, Jungkook hesitated, her heart beating a little faster at his question.

"No," she replied softly, after a pause, her voice almost fragile in the quietness of the evening. "It doesn't."

The space between them felt even smaller now as if the air was pulling them closer.

Minjun approached them slowly, his earlier energy fading as the evening wore on.

"I'm sleepy..." he mumbled, his voice soft and drowsy, tugging lightly at Jungkook's sleeve.

Jungkook smiled, her heart warming at the sight of the boy trying to stay awake. She knelt to his level, brushing a few stray hairs from his forehead.

"Aww, someone's had a long day, huh?" she said gently, her voice tender.

Taehyung glanced down at Minjun. His hand moved from his pocket and with a small sigh, he crouched beside them.

"Come on," Taehyung said quietly, his deep voice smooth and calming. He extended his arms towards Minjun. "I'll carry you."

Minjun blinked, his sleepy eyes lighting up before he nodded, his little arms reaching out to Taehyung. Taehyung scooped him into his arms, adjusting the boy against his chest. Minjun immediately rested his head on Taehyung's shoulder, his tiny hands curling into Taehyung's coat as he let out a contented sigh.

Jungkook stood up, her gaze softening as she watched the two of them.

"Let's get him home," Taehyung said, his voice low, though there was a gentleness to it that made Jungkook smile.

They began walking in comfortable silence with Minjun nestled safely in Taehyung's arms, the park lights flickering softly around them.

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───

Far away from the Gazebo, Ash Jinn and Yuna stood side by side, their eyes fixed on a glowing magical screen that hovered before them. The screen shimmered as it revealed the scene unfolding in the Gazebo.

Ash Jinn's expression was unreadable as she observed Taehyung, Jungkook and Minjun. Her fingers twitched slightly as if resisting the urge to interfere with the peaceful moment they were witnessing.

Yuna crossed her arms, her face betraying resentment. She watched how Taehyung looked at Jungkook and how his cold nature crumbled in her presence. It was a sight that stirred something bitter within her, a feeling she tried hard to suppress.

Hate!

"They seem so content," Yuna murmured, "But how long can it last?"

Ash Jinn didn't respond immediately, her gaze still locked on the screen.

Finally, she spoke, "Contentment is fleeting, especially for those who think they've found peace. There's always something that can disrupt it."

Yuna clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms, and finally, the anger she had been trying to suppress boiled over.

"What's the point of just watching?" Yuna snapped, turning on Ash Jinn with a fury that had been brewing for too long.

"You stand there, observing like some passive observer while they live in their little bubble of happiness! You talk about contentment being fleeting but you're doing nothing to make that happen!"

Ash Jinn remained calm, her expression unchanging as she met Yuna's glare.

"Patience, Yuna," she said in his usual tone. "There's a time for everything. Rushing in without a plan will only lead to—"

"To what?!" Yuna interrupted, her voice rising as she took a step closer to her, her eyes blazing with anger.

"To watch them grow closer while we stand here, powerless? I can't stand it, Ash! I can't stand seeing Taehyung look at her like that like Jungkook is the centre of his world!"

Her words came out in a rush, her frustration spilling over in every syllable. "You may be content to wait but I'm not! I want to see them suffer, to see that smug look wiped off Jungkook's face! I want to remind Taehyung of who he belongs to, TO ME."

Ash Jinn's eyes narrowed slightly, irritation crossing her features. "And lashing out in anger will only backfire. If you want them to suffer, you need to be strategic, not reckless."

But Yuna was beyond reason at this point. She turned away from her, her hands trembling with rage. "I don't care about strategy! I just want to see them broken, like I feel right now!"

"All this for what?" Yuna continued, her voice trembling with anger.

"We're wasting our time, watching from the shadows while they live their perfect little lives! What does Master Jinn even know about what's best? Sitting on his throne, pretending to understand the world, while we're the ones doing the dirty work!

And you—Ash Jinn—you're just as blind, following orders like a loyal dog!"

That was the breaking point.

"ENOUGH!!" The Ash Jinn bellowed, her voice echoing through the room like a crack of thunder.

In an instant, she flung her hand forward and a powerful wave of magic hurled Yuna against the wall, pinning her there with an invisible grip.

Yuna gasped, the wind knocked out of her as she was pinned against the cold stone by an invisible force. Her eyes widened in shock, fear flickering in them as she struggled to breathe. Ash Jinn's hand was still outstretched, her fingers curling slightly as she held her life in her grasp.

"How dare you speak of Master Jinn with such disrespect," Ash Jinn snarled, his voice a deadly whisper.

Yuna's heart pounded in her chest, the pressure against her body was unrelenting. She could feel the raw power from Ash Jinn, the force suffocating her.

Yuna tried to respond, but Ash Jinn cut her off, "You are nothing without Master Jinn and certainly nothing without me. You talk about taking what we want but what have you done, Yuna? Have you even succeeded in the tasks you've been given? Or are you too consumed by your jealousy and rage to see clearly?"

The Jinn spoke, pressing yuna more to the wall and earning weak whimpers of mercy from her.

"You're failing your duties, Yuna. And do you know what happens to those who fail Master Jinn?"

The Ash Jinn paused, letting her words sink in, then continued, "They're punished. Severely. And if you keep down this path, you might face something far worse than my wrath. Perhaps I should remind you of the consequences by taking something you hold dear?"

With a swift motion of her hand, a magical lamp appeared in the air between them, glowing with an ominous light.

"I could fine you," Ash Jinn said, her tone dangerously soft, "by sealing you in this lamp for a time. Maybe, you'd have time to reflect on your actions and failures. Do you think Master Jinn would care if you were missing for a while? Do you think anyone would? Taehyung would?"

Yuna's eyes widened in terror as she stared at the lamp. She shook her head frantically, trying to speak but the fear had stolen her voice.

Ash Jinn lowered her hand slightly, the lamp hovering menacingly in the air.

"Remember your place, Yuna. You're a tool, a weapon for Master Jinn's will. If you want to be of value, you will do your work and keep your mouth shut. Or I will make you spend the rest of your days in the dark."

Finally, Ash Jinn released her hold and Yuna crumpled to the floor, gasping for breath. He loomed over her.

Yuna's hands instinctively clutched her throat as she gasped for air, her chest rising and falling in shallow breaths. Her vision blurred, her body trembling as she struggled to fill her lungs, each breath coming out in desperate gulps. Her fingers scraped against the cold floor.

"You can't even find the one thing that could save you—the magical lamp that Master Jinn is trapped in. All you do is whine and complain, blaming everyone but yourself for your incompetence."

Yuna flinched at the harshness of Ash Jinn's words but she remained silent, knowing that any response would only make things worse.

She glanced up, vision still hazy, only to find Ash Jinn towering above her. Her dark figure seemed even more menacing now, his shadow stretching over her crumpled form. Yuna's breath hitched again, her body trembling as fear and exhaustion fought for control.

[ Ash Jinn's Reference ]

"Let me make this very clear, Yuna,"

The dark menacing beauty continued.

"You have one last chance to find that lamp. If you fail, don't expect any mercy."

Yuna's hands shook as she tried to push herself up but her strength gave out, leaving her slumped and gasping, her body refusing to obey her desperate will to stand.

Ash Jinn straightened, her eyes burning with anger and disdain.

"Get out of my sight and do your job. Find that lamp or I'll make sure your existence becomes a living nightmare."

Yuna scrambled to her feet, nodding frantically as she backed away. Her earlier bravado was gone, replaced by a fear that gnawed at her insides. She knew Ash Jinn wasn't bluffing; if she didn't find the lamp, her fate would be sealed.

Ash Jinn watched Yuna stumble out of the room, her eyes narrowing with frustration. Once Yuna was gone, she turned her gaze to the darkened sky visible through the small window. The faint outline of the moon hung there, pale and ominous, a reminder of what was to come.

"The Red Moon Night," Ash Jinn muttered, her voice filled with dread.

"Only one month away."

She knew what the Red Moon signified—a powerful night when the boundaries between worlds would weaken and the magic that bound them all would surge to its peak.

On that night, the fate of everything they had worked for could be decided. Everything she had worked for, every calculated step, would either solidify her control or slip through her fingers in the blink of an eye.

But without the magical lamp—the one that imprisoned Master Jinn—their chances were next to nothing.

That lamp was the key and Yuna... Yuna had failed her.

Again and again, the girl had proven to be a liability, her weakness threatening to unravel everything.

Ash Jinn's expression darkened as she pictured the looming catastrophe of failure. She clenched her fists, her knuckles whitening. They were so close, closer than ever before, and she could not afford even the slightest mistake now. The stakes had never been higher, and there was no room for compassion or forgiveness, not anymore.

Ash Jinn's thoughts wandered to Taehyung—the key piece in her grand plan.

He was strong, perhaps too strong for his good and his connection to Jungkook was a problem she had to eliminate. That bond they shared—it was growing. It threatened everything she had set in motion.

Taehyung should have been easy to manipulate and control like a puppet on strings.

Yet, something had shifted, something dangerous. Jungkook. The Alara.

The one whose angelic presence had softened the edges of his curse, who had threatened to break down the walls of his heart that Ash Jinn had so carefully ensured stayed cold and impenetrable.

That bond between them—it wasn't just an inconvenience. It was a threat.

A vulnerability in Taehyung something that could undo the centuries of power and manipulation Ash Jinn had built. She could sense it whenever Jungkook was near him, the way his darkness wavered, flickered, almost as if it were... weakening.

Ash Jinn couldn't allow that.

The Red Moon was approaching and she needed Taehyung at his darkest and most broken state to make her plan succeed.

Jungkook was softening him, making him question his fate and this was unacceptable.

"If I don't destroy that bond, it will destroy me," Ash Jinn mused.

She clenched her jaw, her mind filled with images of Jungkook by Taehyung's side, her light seeping into his dark soul, healing what Ash had spent centuries wounding.

It disgusted her, enraged her.

Jungkook didn't deserve to be in the picture. That bond between them needed to be severed—brutally, permanently.

"Taehyung is mine to control," Ash Jinn thought bitterly.

"And I'll make sure that Jungkook is nothing more than a forgotten whisper in his past. Once the Red Moon rises, their bond will be nothing but ashes."

She smiled to herself, a cruel, cold smile. Menacing one!

She had a plan for them both that would tear their worlds apart, leaving Taehyung broken and Jungkook shattered beyond repair.

It was only a matter of time now and when the Red Moon reached its peak, she would watch it all unravel.

The shy couple walked back home, Minjun slept soundly in Taehyung's arms, his small frame nestled comfortably against him after a long, busy day. Taehyung held him securely as he carried the sleeping child. Jungkook walked beside him.

her eyes occasionally flickering to him and the sleeping boy in his arms. She couldn't help but smile at the sight—moments like this made her heart swell with emotions she could hardly put into words. Seeing Taehyung carry Minjun with such tenderness made her love for him grow even deeper.

"He's so peaceful," Jungkook whispered, her voice soft, not wanting to disturb the stillness.

Taehyung glanced at her, shifting Minjun slightly in his arms to ensure he was more comfortable. "Yeah," he murmured. "He wore himself out."

Jungkook smiled at that, her eyes tracing the outline of Taehyung's face, illuminated by the streetlight.

The old granny's words struck again in her mind and she dreamed about their future. Seeing Taehyung holding Minjun so tenderly stirred something deep within her—a longing for a future she hadn't fully allowed herself to imagine until now.

She imagined their baby, a tiny version of them both, nestled in Taehyung's arms. The vision brought a gentle smile to her lips as she pictured the family they might one day have. A tiny bundle of joy who had Taehyung's eyes and her smile.

The image was so vivid, so beautiful that it stirred something deep inside her.

Jungkook glanced at Taehyung again, her heart fluttering. Did he ever think about their future like this?

She wondered if he, too, dreamed of what their family might look like—if he ever pictured their baby curled up in his arms, safe and loved.

Taehyung, walking beside her, remained silently attentive, his eyes occasionally flicking to Jungkook. He could sense a shift in her mood, a softness in her expression that made him curious, though he didn't pry. There was something peaceful about the night air and the quiet rhythm of their footsteps, something that made him feel closer to her even without words.

He glanced at her again, noticing how her gaze remained on Minjun, still asleep in his arms. But then, he caught the faintest hint of something else—an emotion swirling in her eyes.

Was it tenderness? Hope?

Jungkook's gaze shifted from Taehyung's spare hand to her own. An idea sparked in her mind, and with a gentle resolve, she looked at Taehyung and slowly extended her hand.

Her fingers touched his, and she intertwined them softly, his warm hand against hers felt comforting and intimate. Taehyung glanced down, surprised by the touch, but his hand closed around hers.

They continued walking silently, their hands linked.

Taehyung's thumb occasionally brushed against Jungkook's knuckles. Taehyung adjusted his arm just enough to give her more space to lean into him, his protective instinct flaring most gently.

Jungkook's other hand rested lightly on Taehyung's forearm, her fingers tracing small patterns. She leaned in slightly, her head resting against his arm, savouring the closeness.

The night air was cool and the soft rustling of the leaves in the breeze added a serene backdrop to their quiet walk.

"Mr Kim," Jungkook began softly, her curiosity evident in her voice, "Can you tell me more about the Master Jinn? I've heard bits and pieces but where exactly is he now?"

Taehyung's gaze grew serious and he looked down at Jungkook.

"He is locked away," Taehyung said quietly. "I locked him."

Jungkook's eyes widened in surprise. "You? How did you... Why did you?"

"The Master Jinn had immense power, enough to endanger both our world and his. The only way to ensure safety was to imprison him in a magical lamp and hide it where no one would find it."

Taehyung continued to explain and Jungkook listened intently, absorbing his words. "So, you decided to lock him away?"

"Yes," Taehyung confirmed, "It was a necessary action to prevent a greater catastrophe. The lamp remains hidden and I hope it stays that way. The power within the Master Jinn is something that should never be underestimated."

Jungkook's curiosity remained piqued and she looked up at Taehyung with a question that had been on her mind.

"So, where exactly is the Master Jinn locked away?" Jungkook asked, her voice filled with interest.

"Kims Manor,"

Taehyung's gaze grew thoughtful. "In the library, There is a narrow passage behind the last set of bookshelves in the manor," he explained. "If you pull the red book, it triggers a hidden mechanism that opens a lock. You then walk down a few steps and reach the basement of the manor. The Master Jinn is locked in a crystal box in the centre of that basement."

Jungkook's eyes widened as she took in this detailed description. "A hidden passage and a crystal box?" she repeated, her mind racing with the image of this secretive place. "It sounds like something out of a story."

"It is," Taehyung said with a slight smile, his tone serious. "It was designed to be as secure as possible. The magic keeping the Master Jinn bound is very powerful."

Jungkook's eyes sparkled with awe and disbelief as she processed everything Taehyung had just told her. The idea of a secret passage, a crystal box and ancient magic—these were things she'd only read about in her books.

Yet here was her husband, casually revealing that he had personally locked away one of the most dangerous beings in existence.

Meanwhile, in the Kims Manor,

Yuna's footsteps echoed faintly as she moved down the hallway of Kim Manor, her eyes scanning every corner, every shadow, for some clue. The house was vast, its polished marble floors and high ceilings radiating old money and power.

Yet, as beautiful as it was, the manor felt suffocating.

Yuna cursed under her breath, stepping back and looking around the room with growing desperation. Her gaze darted toward the hallway, where the dimly lit path led toward the grand staircase.

Maybe there was something upstairs? She couldn't waste any more time.

Her fingers brushed along the smooth walls as she moved. Yuna pushed open another heavy wooden door, entering a spacious drawing room. Her eyes quickly took in the sight—a grand piano in one corner, velvet drapes hanging elegantly by the large windows, and of course, more bookshelves lining the walls.

Yuna reached the bookshelf. She stood in front of the large, imposing set of shelves, her eyes scanning the collection of books. She felt frustration; she had already been searching for so long and the path seemed elusive.

She reached out to pull on various books. Her fingers brushed over the spines, moving quickly but with little success. Her efforts yielded nothing and the growing frustration made her question if she was even in the right place.

Her fingers fumbled as she brushed over the books again, pulling one here, another there, hoping against hope that something—anything.

Nothing. Not even the faintest hint of movement.

Hurrying to the stairs, she climbed them two at a time, her breath ragged as her boots clicked against the steps. The second floor was just as sprawling as the first—more rooms, more hallways, more places to hide something as dangerous as the Master Jinn's lamp.

She opened doors quickly, barely taking in the luxurious décor as she moved from one room to the next. Each time she was met with disappointment—elaborate paintings, delicate antiques but no sign of a hidden clue.

Her mind raced, frustration mounting. How can it be this difficult?

Yuna's pulse quickened as she recalled Ash Jinn's sharp words, the way her voice had dripped with venom.

"Do not test my patience, Yuna. You have one job, and if you fail me... I don't need to remind you of the consequences."

A cold shiver ran down her spine. Failure wasn't an option, not with Jinn's wrath looming like a shadow over her every move. She had seen what ash Jinn was capable of—had felt the suffocating power when her hands wrapped around her throat earlier.

Yuna squeezed her eyes shut, trying to push back the fear. Focus. Focus. She had to get it right. Time was slipping away, and the longer she spent here, the closer she inched toward disaster.

What if I can't find it? The question gnawed at her, tearing at the thin thread of confidence she had left.

She cursed under her breath, trying to think clearly, but all she could hear was Ash Jinn's voice, cold and menacing, replaying over and over in her head.

"One month until the Red Moon... You better not waste time, Yuna."

Her throat tightened at the thought. Yuna couldn't afford to fail, but right now. She took a step back, glancing nervously around the room. Time was running out.

After a few more futile attempts, Yuna let out a frustrated sigh.

"This is hopeless," she muttered under her breath. Deciding to move on, she turned away from the bookshelves and headed to the other side of the house.

Night time,

The cool night air swept gently over the balcony, carrying the faint scent of blooming flowers. The moon hung high in the sky, casting a soft glow over the quiet surroundings. Taehyung stood on the balcony, one hand resting on the railing as he stared at the moon, the silver light illuminating his sharp features.

Jungkook stepped out quietly, her bare feet padding against the wooden flooring. She paused for a moment, watching him. His tall frame seemed ethereal under the moonlight.

Gathering her courage, Jungkook slowly walked up beside him. her eyes flickering to the same moon he was watching, though she was far more interested in the man beside her. The silence between them wasn't uncomfortable, but the air was thick, something waiting to be spoken.

After a few moments, Jungkook finally broke the silence.

"You told me everything without hesitation," the wife murmured, her voice barely louder than the whisper of the wind. "Why?"

Taehyung didn't look at her immediately. His eyes remained on the moon, his expression calm as if he had already thought this through.

"Because I trust you," he said, his voice steady.

Jungkook's heart fluttered at his words. Her fingers nervously traced the edge of the railing as she glanced down. "But... what if I betray you?" she asked, her voice quieter now, filled with a vulnerability she couldn't hide.

Taehyung finally turned to her, his dark eyes soft yet unwavering as they met hers. "You won't," he replied, his voice low but firm.

There was no hesitation, no doubt.

Jungkook's breath hitched at his certainty. How he looked at her as if he knew her soul, made her chest tighten with unspoken emotions.

"But..." she started again, her voice trembling. "What if things change?"

The wind stirred between them, gently lifting strands of Jungkook's hair. She turned her gaze to Taehyung, who was still watching her, his expression unreadable.

Taehyung stepped closer, his body now close enough for her to feel. His hand moved, slowly, until his fingers lightly brushed against hers where they rested on the railing. He didn't grip her hand, didn't hold her, but the touch was enough to make her heart race.

"Why?" Taehyung repeated, "Because I don't live in fear of things changing. I've faced more than enough storms, Mrs Kim. and I'm still standing. And when it comes to you... I'll face whatever comes our way."

Jungkook's breath hitched at Taehyung's words, the words in his deep baritone voice sending a shiver down her spine. She hadn't expected such a fierce response.

"But why? How can you be so sure?" Jungkook asked, her voice fragile, as if she feared breaking the tender moment between them.

Taehyung stepped closer, his eyes locked on hers and there was protectiveness when he looked at her.

"You ask how I can be so sure, but it's simple," he said, his voice daring fate itself. "I don't need guarantees. I don't need promises written in stone. I know you. I trust you. And that's enough for me."

Jungkook's fingers gripped the fabric of Taehyung's sleeve, holding on as a lifeline, her knuckles turning white with the strength of her grip. She wanted to speak, say something that matched his words but nothing felt adequate in that moment.

"When I look at you, I don't see doubt. I see strength, I see loyalty and a heart that loves fiercely. You don't need to say anything, because your actions speak louder than words ever could." His voice dropped, softer but no less intense.

As the words left Taehyung's lips, Jungkook felt her heart race. His eyes bore into hers with such intensity that she had to look away, her gaze dropping to the ground.

"And I'll protect that heart with everything I have. I'm not afraid of the risks and I won't let anything come between us—not fate, not fear, not anyone."

Taehyung took her hand in his.

"So no matter what changes, know this: I'm not going anywhere. And anyone who tries to come between us—" His eyes darkened slightly, a flash of possessiveness flickering behind them. "—will have to go through me first."

The power in his words sent a shiver down Jungkook's spine. He wasn't just making a promise—he was making a vow. A vow that, no matter what the future held, he would be the shield between her and the world.

Jungkook took a small step closer, her body gravitating toward him. Her head dipped slightly, and her forehead gently rested against his chest.

Taehyung's arms slowly wrapped around her, one hand sliding to rest protectively on her lower back, while the other remained on the side of her neck. He pulled her closer. Jungkook fit perfectly against him, the height difference making her feel even more enveloped by his presence.

The height difference between them.

Her fingers released his sleeve and slipped around his waist, holding him tightly. She closed her eyes, letting herself get lost in the feeling of being so close to him.

"I won't betray you," she whispered against his chest. "I couldn't."

Taehyung's hold on her tightened slightly in response, his chin resting on top of her head. He didn't say anything for a moment but the way he held her spoke louder than words ever could.

After a few moments, Taehyung finally spoke, his voice reverberating through his chest where Jungkook's head rested.

"I know you won't," he said, his tone was quite possessive. "And I'll protect us from anything that tries to come between us."

Jungkook's heart swelled at his words and she couldn't help but tighten her grip around his waist. A small smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she lifted her head slightly, tilting her face to look at him.
