The Kims Manor was illuminating in the moonlight. A soft breeze flew in the hallways as the members were in deep sleep.
Except
Kang Yuna...
Yuna stepped into her guest room, she couldn't help but notice the bright light shining from the corner. Curiosity getting the best of her, she walked over to find Ash Jinn standing there, bathed in the warm glow. Together, they stood side by side, basking in the radiance of the light.
"What are you doing here? What if anyone saw you?" Yuna asked.
"I'm jinn for a reason. Besides... look at this," Ash Jinn pointed to the purple liquid.
Ash Jinn held a vial in her finger. A vessel containing a mysterious and dangerous liquid—a potion designed to wreak havoc.
Yuna gazed at the purple liquid with curious eyes.
"This is our first step. We will destroy this house by living in it. This liquid, as beautiful as it seemed, is the key to destruction," Ash Jinn lifted the bottle and let out an evil laugh followed by Yuna.
Yuna looked at the liquid with a wicked smile, her eyes glistened with revenge.
They both arrived at the door of Taehyung's room, hiding in the shadows of darkness. Ash Jinn hesitated for a moment before reaching out to push it open. But as her hand made contact with the door, she let out an unexpected whimper and quickly withdrew.
She examined the black door and noticed that the powerful protective spells were surrounding the room, creating an almost impenetrable barrier.
Seems like getting inside Taehyung's room was not going to be an easy task.
"The room is sealed by the magical chants. I can't enter it," Ash jinn turned to surprised yuna.
She passed the bottle to the wicked girl and whispered, "You, being human, can breach the magical defences. Enter Taehyung's room and unleash the potion. Make sure to keep it beside Jungkook, she is the thorn in our path. We need to remove her."
Yuna hesitated only briefly before nodding in agreement. She took the bottle in her and stepped closer to the protected threshold.
Yuna pushed the door to find it was unlocked and she became happy. She entered the room with the dreadful liquid in her hands.
The evil woman moved closer to the bed. Her eyes widened as She witnessed the intimacy shared by Jungkook and Taehyung and felt a pang of jealousy twisted within her. Her palm tightly clutched the glass bottle as she gritted her teeth.
Away from the evil games, Jungkook and Taehyung lay entangled in the embrace of dreams. The moonlight, filtering through the curtains, painted a soft luminescence across their slumbering forms.
Jungkook's face was buried in Taehyung's chest, her soft features were hidden by the hair strands. Taehyung's arm was draped protectively around her, creating a cocoon of warmth.
Yuna's eyes were blurred with resentment and longing. Taehyung's shirt was partially unbuttoned. The tousled strands of Jungkook's hair and the slight creases in Taehyung's dishevelled attire made her jealous to the core.
"Sleep as much as you want in my man's arms, jungkook. One day I will be at that place," Yuna thought and later smirked caressing the vial.
She went to the bedside table on Jungkook's side and uncorked the vial.
The air was now filled with a faint, ominous aroma. Hurriedly, she poured the dangerous liquid into the glass, watching as the purple colour of the liquid was mixed with water and turned transparent.
Yuna smiled in satisfaction as her heart raced with expectation and stepped back.
"I hope this glass of water will be your last," Yuna sneered as she glanced at jungkook's peaceful face.
Her eyes widened when he felt Taehyung moving, she hurriedly hid behind the bed. Her heart filled with fear as she held her breath. Muttering silent prayers she looked up and sighed in relief. Yuna stood up and glanced at taehyung who had encircled his arm around Jungkook's waist and buried his face in her neck.
The tenderness etched across Jungkook and Taehyung's features fueled the flames of anger within her. Yuna yearned for the kind of connection that seemed to blossom between the couple.
Yuna left the room, leaving her dangerous act behind in the silent moonlight. Ash Jinn watched with a sense of satisfaction that was bizarre.
The union between the mystical Jinn and the human had initiated a series of events that would challenge the power of love against the forces of darkness that were determined to tear it apart.
•—————-🥀—————•
The first light of dawn filtering through the curtains painted the room in hues of soft warmth. Jungkook stirred in the sleep, the dreams gradually releasing their hold on her consciousness. As her eyes fluttered open, she tried to stretch her arms but couldn't.
Her body was trapped in a strong grip. Jungkook raised her head from her husband's chest and peeked around. The tousled sheets and the slightly undone buttons of Taehyung's shirt were witness to the closeness they had shared. Jungkook's heart fluttered with happiness and a shy blush adorned her pale cheeks.
She glanced at Taehyung who was still peacefully asleep beside her. The closeness brought an involuntary blush to Jungkook's cheeks.
The morning light painted a gentle glow on her blushing face as Jungkook couldn't help but smile. The flashbacks of the previous day flashed in front of her eyes. Her heart fluttered as she recalled how Taehyung claimed her as his wife in front of everyone. Maybe it's not a big deal for others.
But for Jungkook, it was.
Her fingers traced the contours of her husband's face. Eyes busy gawking at the bare face.
"Why he is so handsome?"
The peaceful morning was suddenly disturbed by the ringing of the alarm. Jungkook flinched at the sudden sound. The gentle blush on her cheeks faded into surprise and panic.
Jungkook reached out to silence the alarm. In her attempt to silence the alarm and protect Taehyung's peaceful sleep, Jungkook's hand moved abruptly. Her fingers stretched to shut the device but they knocked out the unnoticed glass on the bedside table crashing to the floor.
Taehyung's eyes opened at the sound of the crash. Now more fully awake, he blinked in confusion looking at his wife. He could see jungkook's lips moving and her apologetic expression.
"I'm sorry," Jungkook with a soft murmur of apology sat up. Taehyung too sat up and looked around and then lastly, at the place where broken pieces of glass lay.
"What happened?" he asked in his deep morning voice, fixing his hair with his hands. Jungkook gulped hearing the deep morning voice. The voice sent vibrations to the annoying butterflies.
"I was going to turn off the alarm and in the process, I accidentally knocked up the glass kept on the bedside table," Jungkook explained looking at the mess of water and broken glass.
The liquid within the glass, mixed with the mystical concoction Ash Jinn had made, was now pooled on the floor alongside the shattered glass. Unknown to Jungkook, the mixture was now unleashed in their room.
Taehyung swiftly came down from the bed to join Jungkook's side.
"Don't come—,"
Before Taehyung could complete it, Jungkook, still half-asleep, stood from the bed and unknowingly stepped onto the liquid pooled on the floor.
"Owwie,"
A whimper escaped Jungkook's lips as she felt a sudden and sharp pain. She sat back on the bed, eyes glistening as she tried to endure the pain. Her hand fisted the bedsheet when she felt the pang.
"I told you. Jungkook?" Taehyung's voice approached her, eyes scanning for any signs of injury.
Jungkook winced when realizing that a piece of the glass had pierced her foot, "I... I stepped on the glass, " she answered, the discomfort was evident in her voice.
Her lips were being nibbled by teeth to endure the pain. Taehyung kneeled beside Jungkook and carefully scanned her injured foot. His eyes widened as he looked at jungkook's foot. Her injured foot was covered in blood with a mixture of a dark purple liquid. His eyes followed the path and found that the broken glasses were now drenched in the same dark liquid.
"Purple liquid?"
Taehyung's eyebrow furrowed as he took in the scene—the broken glass, the spilt potion and Jungkook's scared expression.
He looked at the glass chunk stuck in the skin. Taehyung looked at his wife who had squeezed the pillow in her lap tight. With shaky hands, he held the chunk and summoned all the force. In the next moment, a scream was heard and that glass chunk was lying lifelessly on the floor drenched in blood.
"Meanie,
Can't you do it more softly?" Jungkook cried with a huge pout, her hands busy throwing the pillow at her husband. Her glistening eyes were busy glaring at Taehyung.
A strange sensation rushed through Jungkook and her instincts heightened. She left the pillow and looked at Taehyung. Their eyes widened in unison as they observed the mysterious glow coming from the spilt liquid.
The dark liquid now glowed with golden light, illuminating its surroundings. Taehyung's eyes were fixed on Jungkook's pendant, which also began to generate a protective radiance. The pendant acted as a shield against the effects of the dark liquid.
Jungkook was surprised to see her pendant glow golden, "What is this happening?"
Taehyung's sharp gaze shifted from the glow on the floor to the source of the mysterious liquid – the forgotten vial that Yuna, in her rush, had failed to take with her. His eyes scrutinized as he found the mark of Jinn on the neck of the vial, the fire circles.
"I think this liquid," Taehyung pointed to the liquid, "is for harming you. And this pendant protected you."
Taehyung's mind raced to connect the dots. The mark of Jinn, a signature left by Ash Jinn, on the vial hinted at the evil origin of the potion.
Jungkook looked at Taehyung with concern and curiosity.
With a subtle gesture, he summoned his magical abilities and a gentle breeze enveloped the shattered glass pieces and the vial. They levitated in the air, suspended by an unseen force.
Taehyung examined the floating fragments, "This isn't an ordinary mixture. There's a mark of Jinn on this vial. Someone with a cruel plan is behind this."
He delicately dusted a powder over the surface of the vial. As the powder settled, faint fingerprints emerged on the glass, like ghostly imprints of the one who had handled it.
With a steely gaze, Taehyung remarked, "Fingerprints... Someone left their mark, and we're going to find out who."
He gently lowered the floating fragments and secured them in a box for further investigation. The rest of the case is for the future, now the main goal for taehyung is —Jungkook's injury. He brought the first aid kit and kneeled, keeping Jungkook's foot on his thigh.
Taehyung cleaned the foot and applied the bandage, looking for another injury.
Jungkook initiated the conversation, anxiety colouring her voice as she addressed the possibility of an intruder, "Who can come inside this room? A jinn?" she inquired with her curious doe eyes.
"No. This room is protected. No mystical entity would be able to breach the protective spell. Whatever happened here, it wasn't a mere intrusion of a jinn."
His gaze shifted between the injured foot and the remnants of the broken glass on the floor. Jungkook's gaze was distant and contemplative, staring into nothingness as if seeking answers in the neglected layers of their surroundings.
In her introspection, Jungkook's eyes caught a glimmer beside the side table. A piece of jewellery grabbed her attention.
"Mr Kim," Jungkook called.
Taehyung looked up and his gaze followed the path of Jungkook's eyes. His hand reached for the jewellery struck in the fluffy carpet. The piece, held delicately in his hand, was beautiful. It was a beautiful dainty bracelet. Jungkook took it from her husband's hand and her fingers traced its contours.
"This bracelet doesn't belong to you and no mystical entity can enter here. Means someone from our house is the black sheep." Taehyung spoke as he touched the jewellery.
"How do you know that this bracelet isn't mine," Jungkook asked.
"I notice everything about you," Taehyung answered nonchalantly. He moved away to clean the mess. Picking up the kit, he went to the bathroom to clean his hands. On the other hand, Jungkook became a statue. The blush on her cheeks was increasing every second, eyes were stuck on the bathroom door.
Jungkook took a deep breath, she clutched the pillow in her hands and buried her face in the fluffy pillow. In the second, she was on the bed kicking her leg up and down on the mattress. Her giggles were muffled by the pile of pillows, her head was buried in.
Suddenly, jungkook sat up and blushed, "Oh my God! He notices everything about me. I can't believe it, Aa,
Wait,
Why am I blushing like a teenager who got her crush's number?
But HE NOTICES EVERYTHING ABOUT ME!!"
Jungkook again buried herself in the pillows and aggressively kicked the mattress. She sat up with a poker face as soon as she heard the click of the door.
Taehyung came to the bed unaware of the wrestling that happened a few minutes ago. His gaze once again lingered on the jewellery in Jungkook's hand, and a subtle realization crossed his features.
"Yuna?" he muttered under his breath, the connection forming in his mind.
Jungkook who had regained her senses by now, questioned, "How can you be sure it's Yuna-Tuna's?"
Taehyung met her gaze, a flicker of certainty in his eyes. "I had seen this bracelet on her wrists, " he explained.
"But? How could Yuna enter this room? Didn't you lock the door?" she inquired, her eyes searching for an explanation to solve the mystery of Yuna's possible involvement.
Taehyung replied, "I think, I didn't,"
The room fell into a deafening silence as Jungkook stared at Taehyung's unexpected response. Every second felt like an eternity as the suspense built up.
What would happen next?
And then, just as suddenly, Jungkook held the pillow and threw it in her husband's direction, who stood near the couch.
Taehyung recognised the attack and dodged it away.
Jungkook spoke up, "What? Mr. Kim, that yuna entered our room last night. Why didn't you lock the door?"
"I just forgot okay. Don't exaggerate it," Taehyung spoke while preparing his clothes for a bath.
"Exaggerate it? You need to compensate for your carelessness. Here, Your wife's blood is wasted and she's injured. As punishment, you have to obey her for the next 24 hours,"
Jungkook ordered resting her back on the headboard of the bed. Her hands were folded in front of her chest and her face was adorned with proud expression.
Taehyung raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Obey you for 24 hours? As if I'm not doing that from the day I married you, " he responded, rolling his eyes in the process.
"Sorry but no sorry, Mrs Kim. I have work and I'm busy unlike you. Moreover, I tried to warn you but you jumped like a bunny," Taehyung replied.
Jungkook looked at Taehyung's annoying smirk. She tried to glare at her husband trying to be dangerous. But who would tell her that her angry actions were looking cute rather than dangerous?
She huffed lightly and then her eyes twinkled when she realised something. She looked at her husband with a pretty smirk and then blew air on her nails, "Today is Sunday, Mr. CEO,"
"So enough of useless talks.
Your first task, Mr. CEO, lift me and prepare a bath for me," she declared with a mischievous glint in her eyes, not giving Taehyung a chance to interfere.
"Come on, Mr Husband! What are you waiting for? Or should I tell Grandma that her grandson isn't obeying me?" Jungkook blackmailed Taehyung with Grandma's warning.
Taehyung glared at Jungkook. He approached her with a blank face and for a second jungkook regretted pulling this nonsense. Jungkook's heart raced with excitement as she awaited his response, her cheeks flushing slightly under his intense gaze.
"You can't walk?" Taehyung asked, bending slightly at Jungkook's level. The wife gulped looking at her husband's face which was a few centimetres away from her.
Jungkook couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves in her stomach at the proximity of her husband. His question caught her off guard and she found herself lost for words, her mind a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.
Before she could formulate a response, Taehyung's strong arms encircled her, lifting her effortlessly from the bed. Jungkook's breath caught in her throat as she found herself pressed against his chest, her fingers gripping the fabric of his shirt tightly in her hands.
Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment but she couldn't deny the thrill of being held so close to her dominant husband. Taehyung carried her towards the bathroom, Jungkook couldn't help but feel a wave of shyness wash over her, her gaze flickering nervously away from his intense gaze.
Taehyung carried his wife into the bathroom. he gently placed her on the washbasin slab, their eyes met in a silent exchange of emotions. Jungkook's doe eyes sparkled with shyness while Taehyung's almond eyes held a hint of mischief beneath their stoic exterior.
Unable to withstand the intensity of his gaze, Jungkook looked away, her cheeks flushed with shyness. Her hands instinctively balled into fists, clutching Taehyung's shirt as if seeking reassurance in his sturdy presence.
Taehyung, in a mood to his tease, leaned in closer, his hands resting on the washbasin as he caged his blushing wife with his body. Jungkook's heart fluttered at the proximity, her cheeks growing warmer with each passing moment.
Summoning her courage, Jungkook tried to speak, her voice barely above a whisper as she addressed her husband, "M-mr. K-kim..."
Taehyung hummed in response, taking a step closer to her. The sound sent shivers down Jungkook's spine and she found herself clutching his shirt even tighter, her knuckles turning white with the effort.
Taehyung's lips curled into a teasing smirk as he leaned closer, his warm breath ghosting over her ear.
"Yes, Mrs. Kim?" he murmured, his voice low and husky, sending a shiver down Jungkook's spine.
Caught off guard by his proximity, Jungkook's cheeks flushed a deeper shade of pink, her heart pounding erratically in her chest.
"I-I..." Jungkook stammered, struggling to form coherent words under his intense gaze.
Taehyung's smirk widened, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he leaned closer, his lips dangerously close to hers.
"Yes?" he prompted, sending a surge of electricity through Jungkook's veins.
Feeling emboldened by his teasing, Jungkook mustered all the courage she could find and met his gaze head-on. "I-I want..." she began, her voice barely audible as she trailed off, her cheeks burning with shyness.
Taehyung's expression softened as he gazed down at her, a hint of tenderness in his eyes. "You want what, Mrs Kim" he asked gently, his voice.
"You can go, I will do the rest," Jungkook muttered. Finally.
"Why?" Taehyung spoke moving away from her, "I Need to Prepare a bath for you, right?"
Jungkook lightly patted her warm cheeks and looked at her husband standing in the middle of the bathroom. In the next moment, the sound of water flowing echoed in the bathroom. Her gaze went to the bathtub which was being filled with water.
Taehyung summoned a bottle of essential oils with his magic. Each drop radiates the calming essence of lavender, chamomile and a whisper of rose.
As the tub began to fill with water, Taehyung extended his hand and with a gentle moment of his fingers, delicate rose petals emerged from thin air. The petals floated gracefully on the surface of the water.
With a mere wave of Taehyung's hand, the scented bath gel descended into the water, leaving a trail of captivating fragrance.
Candles showed up around the bathroom, their flames ignited by an otherworldly spark.
The soft and warm light they emitted seemed to dance with the unseen magical currents, creating an ambience that surpassed the ordinary. Finally, Taehyung stepped back, the bathroom was transformed into a magical shelter.
Taehyung within a few strides reached near Jungkook and again caged her in his arms, who was shocked looking at the transformation.
"Is there anything else, Mrs Kim?" he asked with a playful glint in his eyes.
Jungkook came out from the daze when Taehyung spoke. She timidly glanced at taehyung and shook her head left and right. Taehyung removed his hands and went out of the bathroom, shutting the door.
Jungkook Jumped down from the slab and slightly winced due to injury and went closer to the beautiful flowers.
Her fingers caressed the soft velvet petals and then Jungkook picked up one rose, lightly caressing it with the other hand. The blush on her cheeks completely matches the colour of flower petals.
"Never knew, Mr Icecube's this side. He seems to be so romantic," Jungkook thought as she twirled in the bathroom basking in the scents of flowers and oils. Completely forgetting about her foot's injury.
•———--🥀————-•
After a few moments, Jungkook stepped out of the room dressed up in a beautiful attire, slightly limping. She moved towards the staircase and noticed Yuna engrossed in conversation with Taehyung's mother.
With a playful notion in mind, Jungkook planned something. Her eyes twinkle with mischief.
"Time for some action, kookie," Jungkook noticed here and there looking for any human presence. She grinned in victory when no one was there in the hallway.
"Why are you standing here?" Taehyung narrowed his eyes when he found Jungkook thinking something and smiling widely.
Except her husband, Kim Taehyung of course.
"This man! Flopped my plan" Jungkook cursed upon hearing the voice. She looked at Taehyung and shook her head innocently.
Jungkook put weight on her perfectly fine foot and she added a fine limp to her walk. Taehyung sensed her discomfort and wrapped a supportive arm around her waist to assist her in walking. Jungkook looked up when she felt the cold touch of the hand on her waist.
"Is your wound too deep? Do we need to go to the doctor?" Taehyung asked as he helped Jungkook to descend the stairs.
"No," Jungkook muttered lowly, slightly feeling guilty for doing the act. Although it was not completely acting, she felt slight pain while walking.
Yuna was talking to one of the maids when her gaze went to the couple on the top of the stairs. Teeth gritted as she watched Taehyung and Jungkook descend the stairs. Her eyes narrowed into slits as she observed the couple, her gaze focused on the intimate gesture between them – Taehyung's hand resting casually on Jungkook's waist.
Beneath her calm facade, a storm of jealousy raged within Yuna. Her grip on the edge of the door tightened as she fought to suppress the surge of anger coursing through her veins.
How dare Jungkook still be alive?
And how dare Taehyung show such blatant affection for Jungkook in front of everyone?
But Yuna was not one to be easily defeated. Behind her mask of formality, her mind stirred with dark thoughts and threatening plans. She would not rest until she had torn apart the happiness that Taehyung and Jungkook seemed to share.
With a forced smile plastered on her lips, Yuna greeted Taehyung with false cheerfulness, her voice dripping with saccharine sweetness.
"Good morning, Tae," Yuna chirped brightly as soon as Taehyung came down.
"Morning," Taehyung greeted her back and made his way towards the dining table, completely ignoring Yuna.
And jungkook was controlling the urge to laugh like a madman. Her eyes crinkled with happiness as she recalled Yuna's face. The family was in awe looking at the couple. They wanted to comment but Taehyung's one glare was enough for them to keep their mouth seal. The husband settled his wife into her chair at the dining table and sat beside her on his chair.
Jungkook looked around the table and frowned when the love of her life was missing.
"I will be right back," She stood up and went to the kitchen, walking like a penguin.
Yuna hurriedly grabbed the chance to sit beside Taehyung. Taehyung wanted to say something but his eyes caught his mother coming to the table. To avoid any drama, he let Yuna sit beside him. He completely ignored Yuna's existence and focused on his breakfast.
Jungkook came out of the kitchen with a blushy face. But her expression tightened as she noticed Yuna comfortably seated beside Taehyung. She glared at her husband, her eyes conveyed anger and her lips were formed into an angry pout. Taehyung looked up from his plate when he felt someone's gaze. His eyes meet Jungkook's and he couldn't help but gulp nervously, sensing the upcoming storm.
Jungkook looked at the plate of sandwiches in her hand and went to serve it to Taehyung. She went near him and kept the plate on the table deliberately with a loud noise. Yuna noticed everything yet continued to engage in casual conversation with Taehyung.
Jungkook settled in the chair across from Taehyung intentionally, positioning herself beside Jimin. The entire time, she maintained a constant glare at Taehyung, her eyes boring on her husband, who was eating innocently.
For a moment, Taehyung glanced at his wife and gulped looking at the scene. Jungkook rested her back on the chair with a bottle of banana milk. She twirled the straw in her fingers and then stabbed it into the bottle seal. While doing this, her eyes were busy glaring at Taehyung.
Taehyung could read her eyes which said, "You are gone, Mister Kim Taehyung,"
Taehyung's mind raced. He knew that look—it was the same one she gave when she was upset but trying to mask it with silence.
He could practically hear her thoughts: How dare you sit there, all innocent, while Yuna sits beside you?
Grandma Kim initiated a conversation with a question aimed at Taehyung, "When will the party be held, Tae?" she inquired, her smart eyes glancing between the family members.
Jimin was curious about the mention of a party and chimed in with genuine interest, "What party?"
Taehyung taking the opportunity to shift the focus, answered, "The Global Business Awards party. It's a prestigious event and our company has been nominated."
He saw the opportunity and latched onto it, grateful for the distraction and responding to Grandma Kim's inquiry, "Next Sunday."
Grandma Kim suggested, "Why don't you take Jungkook shopping?" She addressed Jungkook directly, "My dear?."
Jungkook, who had been glaring at Taehyung moments ago, swiftly shifted her gaze to Grandma and adopted an innocent expression. "Ma, I already have clothes," she protested.
Grandma Kim chuckled warmly, dismissing Jungkook's protest. "Ayy, no problem. Just buy more. It's an opportunity to spoil a little," she insisted, her playful encouragement introducing a light-hearted tone to the conversation.
Jungkook agreed to Grandma Kim's suggestion and nodded in understanding.
But as soon as she shifted her gaze to Taehyung, the fire in her eyes returned. Taehyung caught it—her real emotions surfacing again, like waves crashing beneath a calm surface. She had him locked in her sights. Her eyes silently communicated:
"You think you're getting away with this?"
Taehyung, not daring to challenge her stare, only nodded at Grandma's suggestion. But in his mind, he was already formulating a plan to calm his fiery wife down.
