Chapter 5: Observing

It's been a week already when she agreed to have a contract with me but after our conversation, she wouldn't appear no matter what.

What if she's just joking around and didn't take me seriously.

I'm getting angry as that thought flows in my mind again.

"You had crossed brows again" Lance said poking my forehead.

I brushed off his hand and looked at him angrily. He stopped joking around and took a sip to his juice.

"You're pretty occupied this days, is anything new happened to you?" Lance said.

I sighed and said "It's none of your business"

I don't know what to do anymore because she wouldn't appear. It's my dream come true to take revenge to my parents but my plan will be wrecked if she wouldn't have a contract with me.

I sighed deeply while waiting in the park near the library again.

I went there and waited everyday but there's no sign of her. I don't know is she chikened out but when she said those last words before disappearing again, I thought I gained her trust.

I stood up and went home.

I won't give up this easily so I'm going to wait to the park again tomorrow.

When I got home, I noticed that Leone is still not here.

"Hey, where's Leone?" I asked one of the maids.

"Master Leone is still in Lady Elodie's house playing with her" The maid said while she's nervous.

People in this house are afraid of me. That would be natural because I possessed this horrible personality. Not like I boast it, I'm pretty much used for people treating me like a horrible person. To avoid involving with them, I need to seclude myself and think that I'm higher than them. That's my resolution.

I called Lance over the phone if it's really true that Leone is with them.

Elodie is Lance's little sister and also a close friend of Leone. They study at the same school so they get along well more than anyone else. But Elodie tends to bully Leone sometimes because of how weak he is even he's a boy.

"Is Leone there?" after Lance picked up my call, I immediately said those things.

"Yeah, he's with Elodie" Lance answered.

"I'm going to your place to get Leone" I said and end the call.

I changed my clothes to casual before I went to Lance's house.

When I'm finally there, the guards recognized me and let me inside their mansion.

I went inside and there I saw Leone playing with Lance while Elodie is reading a book in their living room.

"Big brother!" Leone ran towards me while having a big smile on his face.

"You're fast" Lance said and walked towards me.

I didn't talk back at him and let Leone play with Lance.

I went towards Elodie which is busy to read a book and it looks like the book she was reading is about history.

I sat beside her and Elodie closed her book and get the tea in front of her.

"Sorry if I snatched Leone from you" she said sipping the tea on the cup.

"No worries. You're his trusted friend" I said and one of their maids poured a cup of tea and gave it to me.

Elodie is more mature than Lance. Lance is a natural idiot while Elodie is a smart girl. They're complete opposite but they understood each other. Take note that Elodie is still 6 years old like my little brother but she acts like an adult unlike his brother who always been seeking for fun.

I watched Lance playing with Leone. Leone is acting a hero while Lance is acting as a monster. As the usual plot, hero will defeat the monster and saved the world.

If I successfully had a contract with that girl and started getting revenge to my parents, does Leone think of me as a villain if he'll discover my desires? I take the path of vengeance and I won't just fall back because of my brother. I'm selfish but I'm doing this for my sake and maybe also for him.

"You're staring at the air. Does it look interesting for you?" I came back to my senses when Elodie started talking.

"Leone get a high marks again but he didn't surpass me. He's doing everything he can to make you proud about him. You should go and praise him after you got home" She said and gave me the test papers of Leone.

I looked at his test papers and it's all a passing grades. He didn't perfect it all but I'm already satisfied to what I've seen in the paper.

When Leone is done having fun with Lance, we went home silently.

We got home safely and I started talking about the marks he had.

"You did very well again" I said to him giving the test papers to him.

I saw Leone smiled brightly after hearing that I praised him.

"I won't lose to Elodie next time" he said feeling motivated.

The both of them, even if they are friends, they are still competitive to each other and that's the good thing of having a rival but in a good way.

I went to my room and lay down to bed feeling exhausted.

Being with those two who had so much energy, just watching them makes me exhausted.

I let out a big sigh and cover my eyes by my left arm. "That girl needs to take my words seriously. I can't afford to be joked around. I told to myself to get my revenge to my parents when I grew up but if only I had a contract with her, my dream would be easily granted" I talked to myself.

"I think so too" I was surprised when I heard someone's voice in my room so I sit up straight and looked around my room and there I saw the girl who's not been appearing this whole week.

"It looks like you still had that goal" she said and sat at my bed without even asking for my permission.

"Humans always had another side of them. They had desires that always ruin their state of mind and they even do things in a different way just to achieve it. Some of them works hard and some of them intend to do risky things just to achieve it. There will always be evil if good resides in one heart." She was saying her own thoughts.

"And you should know why I'm here" she looked at me and pointed at my heart.

"Your heart is full of hate but it softens when it comes to certain people you loved. Even if you tell me how you hate your family and such, as I observed your actions, it's not enough for you to have a contract with me" she said to me with serious look on her face.

"If that continues, you cannot survive the simulation" She said and stood up.

"I can't have a contract with you if it means you'll die in the process" she said.

All I could do is looked at her without knowing what I should say back at her.

After figuring out what I'm really dealing all this time, it looks like I'm the one who is now covering its tail.
