Chapter 2: First Encounter

"Let's eat dinner"

This creature has a big muscular body and he has a teeth like an angler fish. He's eyes was red, specifically only his cornea was red. His appearance already gives me the feeling of danger and I'm still here trying to protect this girl.

I looked at the girl and she's not giving any expression to the thing appeared in front of us. It's like she's saying to me, she's used to seeing things like this.

I'm not scared or anything, I'm a bit calm to begin with. This situation is unnatural and a strange thing to happen. I do not believe in any supernatural beings and this is the first time I saw one of it with my own eyes. Pretty much, all I need to do is run away with this girl beside me.

"What are you doing?" She said to me looking bored.

I don't know what to say to her reaction at all.

"Are you hoping to die?" She said with a straight face.

When I'm still out because of my thoughts, I didn't notice the unknown creature is already near us and he raised his large arms and tried to get me with his grasps.

"Stop talking and let me eat you" he said while trying to get me.

When he was trying to get me, I grabbed her arm and avoided him.

"I told you not to meddle but you still did and here you are trying to get away from this mess" the girl started to mumble things.

The girl brushed away my hands and faced the creature in front of us. Pretty heroic if I should say but I didn't think she would shield me from him because all she wanted is to protect me but the only reason she was doing this is because she's pissed right now.

"Bothering me all the time is freaking annoying" she said these words with an annoyed tone.

"You should go back to where you belong" and the next thing happened is, the girl kicked the guts of the strange creature in front of her and make him disappear like he was shattered into pieces.

That time, I do think he was killed by her.

The person that made this creature appeared has loss his consciousness and the next thing happened is the girl grabbing me and getting away from the scene.

Still dumbfounded to what's happening, I didn't even notice her grabbing me back to the park near the library.

"Are you thick headed or not?" She was mad at me and looking at me with a disgusted look.

"You should explain everything to me" I demanded to her and I began getting my cool back.

She faced palm and sighed heavily.

"You're the only human being that I knew for being this persistent"

She said those words without even thinking how she was phrasing it.

"What are you saying? You're also human" This is the reason why I was intrigued by her. I don't know if she noticed her bad phrasing of words or is it just being human is not her nature.

"Do you still believe of me being human after what just happened? What a jerk" She said annoyed.

I know I don't have any knowledge of what's happening but that doesn't mean I need to be silent and let this all go like nothing happened. The only reason why I was in that place to begin with is because I followed her in that alley.

I heard her sighed again and looked at me with his serious expression. "This is my last warning. Don't involve yourself with us anymore. Auburt, I know you're smart so stop doing things that might get you killed you understand" after saying this words, she left me not even making me talk back to her.

I went home pretty late and I made my little brother worried about me.

"I'm so happy you're okay" he was crying while his face is full of snot.

I get my handkerchief from my pocket and whipped his snot on his face.

"I-I thought y-you're not *sniff* going b-back a-anymore *sniff*" he's still crying.

I calmed him down and when he finally stopped crying, he fell asleep.

I carried him and went to his bedroom. I lay him down to his bed, put his blankets up and said some little words to him before I leave his room and went to mine.

"Good night" I said and left.

When I was already at my room, I was so exhausted to everything that happened. I'm still absorbing the things that appeared right in front of me and think about the things that the girl said to me.

"How come she knows my name" mumbling this words, I felt sleepy and slowly closing my eyes not bothering that I still had my school uniform on.

I wake up in the morning having a headache.

I went to the bathroom and took a shower.

I did the things I usually do in the mornings and went downstairs to eat breakfast. There I saw my little brother already eating in the dining table.

"Good morning big brother" He said with a cheerful tone.

I smiled at him "Good morning"

I sat beside him and the maid gave me my breakfast.

We ate together silently and prepare ourselves for our school.

"Big brother, be careful on your way okay" he said with a cute voice as always.

I pat his head and said "You too"

I went to the school and when I was finally in, I silently walked in the hallway when Lance abruptly ruined my peace.

"Good morning!"

"No shouting in the hallway" I said to him with a straight face.

Lance made an annoying smile again that always gets me.

Lance and I are friends since junior high. We first met in a party held by my parents and there we became friends. At first, I was annoyed to his approach and because he's persistent on being my friend, I gradually accepted him in the end.

We are from a wealthy family. Lance's parents and mine are business partners. I thought that Lance was just there being my friend because of our parents relationship but in the end, it's because he wanted to find a friend same age as him. He sticks around with me and talks to others like normally, not like me who doesn't like talking to people who is not the same level as me. Sorry for being a person who looks at myself as inferior to anyone but I grew up thinking like this so it's not partly my fault.

Class ended and we said goodbyes to each other.

As always, I visited the library again because I wanted to meet her.

After knowing she knew my name, I'm more curious than before. I don't know her and we met each other one time only but she already knew my name. It was weird but because of what happened last night, I do think she has a reason behind it.

I went to the park near the library and I sat to a bench and waited for her to appear. I wasted my time again but didn't give up on waiting.

I was almost losing my hope when she appeared in front of me crossing her hands and looking at me angrily.

"I thought I already warned you. How many times do I....." before she could even complete her sentence, I stopped her and started asking her some questions.

"How do you know my name? How can you be related to that creature? Who are you, really?" I heard her sighed and looked at me with a defeat.

"You should already know that this is not a place to play around but you still insisted. I know you had some grudges to your parents and I know how hardworking you are at school and went to the top like it's a simple thing. I've known you for a long time Auburt and because it's interesting for a human like you to have this kind of feelings against your own parents or should I say, being a child of the richest family in this area" And that's when she opened my wounds again.

I hate my parents for a very long time and making me face this again makes my blood boil and every bad memories of my past came up to my mind again.

"You shouldn't have said that" I said to her but she just grinned at me, a grin that makes her more menace than before.

"Huh? Maybe you're interested?"
