CHAPTER 12: YOU ARE MY EVERYTHING... MY SAVIOR
Everyone was gathered around a woodfire created with magic by Satan.
I stared at the flames and the bursts that escaped the fire. Each time, shivering as the wind graced my body, which even though it was freed by the wet clothe, and now sheltered by the demon brother's upper garments, still felt cold.
None of them showed sign of discomfort, because of the low temperatures of the night.
Mammon noticed concern in my eyes, and figured I was worried because of their chest and upper limbs being exposed to the freezing gusts of winds.
"Don't worry about us Pamy! We demons, ain't affected because of these low temperatures."
Beel added, while he took a bite of a 3 feet long monstrous roasted fish he caught at the lake,
"Mhn... Our body temperature is higher than that of humans and we can regulate it to a more comfortable state."
Belphie,
"That's why... You should cover up yourself more... If you don't want to suffer from the cold~"
All of the demon brothers, except Asmo, blushed and looked away. Asmo kept on ginning and looking at me, until Satan slapped the back of his head, earning a yelp of retaliation.
He cleared his throat and pointed out,
"Umhum...!"
I noticed that while my body relaxed in the clothing, my cleavage had started to show.
I quickly fidgeted with the layers of clothing and made sure to "properly" put them all together into a cocoon.
Everyone chuckled.
Satan,
"Pamy looks like the cocoons of the Soul Butterflies we used to mount back at the Heaven Realm years ago, when we were kids.
Asmo exclaimed brightly,
"I remembered those! We used to have races on those! All except for Mammon of course, he feared them. Although... I have to say, he is STILL scared of them..."
Mammon huffed, a slight blush of embarrassment creeping up to his cheeks.
"Oi! I was never scared of those flimsy, giant, horribly colorful, butterflies! I just... uhm... Anyways! How can you say I was STILL scared of them when it has been centuries since we've seen one!"
I asked curious,
"Why haven't you seen them again? Don't they exist here as well; in the Underworld?"
Belphegor denied with his head.
"No, they only exist in the Heaven Realm. It was one of the many things we have lost since we were vanished from Heaven..."
Beel added, an unmistaken sadness in his tone.
"Sadly, we keep on loosing our most precious things..."
At this, the brothers all looked like their happy World was starting to crumble, which wasn't far from true at this moment, but they knew better that to just be sitting here denying themselves to have faith and thin positive.
I took in a breath and exhaled. I jumped to my feet and while trying to push back into my mind the fact that neither of the other three had come back from under the lake, I started to speak anything that popped into my thoughts; just to lower down a bit the melancholic state we were all in.
"Okay! How about we sing?!"
They looked at me both surprised and amused.
Satan commented, trying to sound serious but obviously failing as his voice trembled by his contained laughter.
"We better not... We are still near the House of Lamentation and you never know what is lurking in the dark at these hours... Why don't you rest a bit?"
Mammon,
"Yeah! Take a nap! Close your eyes and rest a bit!"
Maybe they were right. I just needed to close my eyes and dream of better things to come and that Levi, Lucifer and Solomon come back unharmed.
Mammon made space next to him and suggested with a wide grin playing on his face and a blush.
"You... You can rest here and use me as a pillow..."
Belphie cleared his throat and inquired,
"Why should she use you as her pillow? Pamy, I'm far more comfortable than him."
I couldn't help chuckle at their continuous ramble.
I was about to suggest for all of us to rest huddled together, but before I took anymore steps further there was a gust of wind that blew and made me fall back on myself.
The demon brothers quickly covered me, surrounding me in a protective circle and awaiting whatever had made the wild blow.
A green and yellowish vortex materialized some feet away from us, giving way to three figures who came through, falling to the ground as it disappeared.
I gasped and ran towards the people whose face were darkened and hidden from sight by the darkness of the night.
I embraced all three people as well and as hard as I could and exclaimed with tears in my eyes,
"You... You idiots! Don't ever do that again! You hear?!"
I hugged tighter, reluctant to let go any of them.
Solomon, Lucifer and Levi remained still for some moments until they relaxed in my embrace and hugged me back with the same strength.
In no less than a minute, all the people present in the lake grounds were embracing each other in a big group hug.
Lucifer was the one to speak up and state our next destination, after the nights hazzle.
"Let's go home..."
After taking a warm bath and dressing in warm clothe, I walked along the hall and stood in front of Leviathan's room.
He must have already made himself warm and comfortable, I thought. After all that had happened, the memories of the last time I saw Levi before disappearing into the portal still hunted me, and I still couldn't believe he appeared before me without any signs of the cuts and bruises generated by the battle against the "Bad" Solomon. Solomon and Lucifer also appeared well, but with minor cuts still visible, in comparison, Levi seemed as if he had never shed his blood since the moment we encountered the evil sorcerer.
I took in a breath and sighed before knocking softly at Levi's door, hopeful that he would grant me access to his "secret lair" as he called it. But I was wrong.
A soft but still defiant voice came from inside.
"Go away... I don't want to see you now..."
Levi's words struck me in the heart. Had I done anything to him to make him act this way towards me? I fear not.
Levi's attitude towards me, made me worry more for him than I was before, so I did what came to my mind first. I called out,
"I just came here to give you back the money Mammon owed you. He..."
At the mention of me having what he had been fighting over since we've met three years ago, he opened the door abruptly and inquired with an excited expression, that soon turned shocked and pissed as I pushed me and Levi inside his room, closing and locking the door behind me.
He exclaimed betrayed,
"You... You tricked me! How could you?!"
I shrugged and walked further into his personal space.
"You left me no choice, being all so reserved and neglecting me entry to your castle, my Knight~"
As he took note to how I had addressed him, he lowered his head evading eye contact with me.
Me being small made it easier for me to look better at him. I giggled as he tried to hide his reddening cheeks.
"Why didn't you let me in earlier? I wanted to speak with you about some things..."
He stammered,
"Like... Like what...?"
I hummed, leaning in closer and looking up at his glistening beautiful, yellow eyes, that I have missed.
"Like... How did you heal? What about your tail? Levi... I don't like keeping secrets between any of you. You are all so important to me, and seeing as you try to maintain such a distance with me even after so many years together... that just hurts me more than I already am... Am I really not that important to you...?"
Levi quickly took me in his arms.
His hair tickled my cheeks and neck as he repeatedly moved his head from side to side. Muffled, he said,
"You.. You... Are everything to me... Please don't say that ever again... I beg you..."
I could feel tears sliding from my neck to my shoulders, and down.
I encircled my arms around him and kissed the top of his head.
"I promise... But you must listen to me, and listen well..."
He nodded and straightened; both our eyes glistening with more tears yet to come.
"Levi... Whatever you think of yourself now, in the past or in the future, I want you to value yourself... To love yourself and see yourself as who you are and be proud of it. I know the reason as to why you didn't want to see me, you felt like you couldn't do anything at all; that you had to have help from someone else to save both the life of someone and yours, but you have to keep in mind, that somethings can't be done alone and that we are not alone to do them. For you to stand up for me and build your strength to protect me, was enough to show me how much you value others, but I also want you to value yourself; love yourself before anyone... Before me..."
I was interjected.
"BUT I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ANYONE!"
I smiled warmly, stroking his cheek and watched as the man before me melted into the warmth from the palm of my hand.
"Levi, you know... You sometimes make me doubt even the things I say... I try to reason out that you should love yourself before anyone else, but for you to throw at me such words... Really, leave me without any to say..."
Both of his hands rested at the sides of my shoulders and they rose to cup my face.
A new emotion played itself in Levi's eyes. One like no other I've seen him show. His thumbs caressed my soft lips, resting there a bit but slowly lowered until they found their way back to my shoulders.
He softly leaned in towards me, pressing my body against his; our breaths tickling each other's nose and making my heart rase by the second.
Something inside me felt warm and as if on instinct I softly closed my eyes, already knowing what was about to happen, and couldn't control.
Levi closed his eyes, and his lips brushed mine, as they found their way to rest perfectly upon them; like two pieces of a puzzle.
It was the first time I was kissed by this man demon, and it all felt like it was meant to be...
Levi,
"I...I always think I am worthless... A pain of an otaku that... dreams, but whose dreams never become real...now... You've made me believe in myself... You said I saved you... But you are my savior...
