SURVIVING ANOTHER DAY. That's what Roland usually thought at night. But for the past few nights, he's been acting weird. Staying up and looking out his windows to make sure the shadow wasn't there.This shadow wasn't very big, it belonged to something that looked quite small. But he couldn't be to sure. The thing always stood at a distance.This night was different. There was no shadow. Nothing stood at the window.Roland sat up in his bed, the blanket slipping off his shirtless chest. Nothing. A sense of relief flooded his body, yet again. He was safe, for now.Roland lived in a world you wouldn't expect to live. A world where people a beasts walk the Earth unannounced. A world that put him in danger. 

'Stupid Fall.' Roland thought to himself. 'Making me have to stay away from one of the safest places for me. I could be with my friends right now.'But he knew that wasn't going to be a possibility. He checked the window again and found nothing."Any time now." Roland whispered to himself, still looking out the window. "You'll be here any time."But nothing came. Just the way he liked it. Soon he fell asleep. But when he did, the shadow came. And in its deep voice it spoke."Your time will come, Roland. Zeus will have his revenge..."
