Help Wanted

"Just as foolish as ever." Ares grumbled; pulling back a fist and pausing for a second before swinging at high speed. His swing was almost a blur, surprising the small crowd that had accumulated of old friends. Ares fist connected with Thunder's jaw, an ungodly crack rupturing the air of the backyard. Thunder was knocked aside, and Ares shook his fist as it steamed slightly. Thunder rolled to a halt in the grass, and yelled angrily as he jumped back to his feet. Torrent made sure the kids were at a safe distance, and tried to keep the house from burning down. Thunder then began to breath fire in his direction. Ares held a hand up, and took a defensive stance, a purple barrier forming between the 2 men. The barrier seemed to be unaffected by the flames, as ares walked toward thunder slowly, using the cover of the flames to get close. Once close enough he lowered his hand, and tried to swing at Thunder. Thunder ducked down and stopped breathing fire, sweeping Ares legs and taking the fight to the floor. Ares fell down but immediately grabbed Thunders ankle and dragged him down, giving him a punch to the face. Thunder grabbed Ares wrist and punched him in the face back. After the exchange of blows, Thunder placed his feet on Ares chest and kicked him off of him. With the force of the kick, Ares was sent up somewhat and crashed into the ground again. Thunder was only getting angrier, standing again, more flames surrounding him, and wings spreading from his back.
"Thunder!" Terra yelled angrily. He wasn't listening. Ares stood up, and grabbed his own jaw, yanking it to the side; popping it back into place.
"Hrmn.." he looked at Thunder. "I spose you can't be the only one with those." Ares stretched somewhat, and took his shirt off. He was still covered in scars, especially the large X on his chest/stomach. He closed his eyes for a moment and a pair of feathered black wings stretched out.

Thunder grunted and flew toward Ares at high speed, forming a ball of flame in his hand. Ares returned the favor, flying toward Thunder and swirling around one another as they rose into the sky. Thunders fireball got larger, as Ares began to form a purple orb of his own, dodging various kicks and swings both were sending. Thunder swung his arm upwards with the ball of fire within his palm, aiming to strike Ares in the face with it. Ares read his movements, swinging the orb down, meeting the fireball half way causing both to explode. The orange and purple colours mixed in the sky, the people below watching in concern and awe. Iba was bored. Ares grabbed Thunders shirt in the confusion, and pulled him toward him. He positioned it so that Thunders back was toward the ground, and placed his boots on thunders chest. Without a shared word, he kicked his feet, and Thunder was sent flying toward the ground at high speeds, Ares propelling himself down after him. Thunder wafted his wings hard, flames bursting through the air and carrying him off to the side. Thunder slid to a halt on his feet in the backyard again, as Ares landed on the ground hard on one knee. He stood up; and the wings disappeared. Thunder formed a sword in his hand made of fire, and had that furrowed brow resting furiously on his face.
"You need to calm down, Knoxmillon." Ares stated, his eyes slowly turning black, his chains beginning to hover a couple inches from his body and faintly glow purple. He summoned his own blade, and watched thunder closely.
"Don't tell me what to do, Ares.." he growled.
"Terra, you need to stop them.." Torrent pleaded "this is going to get ugly."
Terra was hesitant, hoping thunder would mature at some point. Unexpectedly, small white snowflakes began to descend down around them. The temperature had slowly been dropping, but due to Thunder's flames, nobody had noticed.
"Snow." Iba mumbled "Uncle Thunder is weak to snow." He commented, crossing his arms. "Father has been thriving in it for years now; and Uncle Thunders anger isn't going to help.."

Ares stepped toward Thunder. Acting tough and cocky, Thunder stepped toward Ares too, taking note of the cold but trying to ignore it. He leapt toward him and swung his sword hard, aiming to kill with the first strike. Ares didn't say a word, blocking the strike, and returning with a counter of his own. The two began to exchange swipes, sparks flying from the blade connecting. The flames on thunder began to die down as the temperature continued to drop, and the snow began to pick up. Thunders movements became jumpy and not thought through. Ares deflected his blade, and front-kicked him to the stomach knocking him back. His chains shot o it and wrapped around the blade, and thunders various other limbs. Ares' sword disappeared, and he began to beat him, punching and kicking anywhere he could. Thunders flames finally died, and Ares chains returned to him. Ares took a few steps back, returning to normal, as the shivering Thunder fell down to his hands and knees. He was seething, growling he stood up and stumbled toward Ares. Terra held her hand out, vines bursting from the ground and restraining to two men as best she could. Terra was quite strong. Ares didn't fight them, simply watching Thunder. Thunder fought against them, though due to the cold unable to break free or even start a flame.
"Stop being stupid Thunder.. Ares clearly has the upper hand here. He's giving you a chance to stop yourself.." Terra sighed. Thunders breathing slowed somewhat as he began to calm down. Abenanka sighed.
"Dammit." He crossed his arms.
"That.. was something else." Doremi rubbed the back of her neck.
"Thankfully they kept the house in tact.." Benjamin commented, with a huff of relief.
"One day that could be any of you, if you keep in contact with one another." Iba mentioned, turning and walking back into the house; Ares' old cloak swaying behind him.

A few hours later, The snow had seriously picked up, and everyone was shut into Nates house, the fireplace lit, the temperature in the room a comfortable one. Almost everyone was huddled close to the fire, sat with their families. Ares was sat on a chair further away, in half darkness. He was only faintly lit up by the fire. Iba sat with his friends, still a distance away. They had grown accustomed to the cold.
"So.. Ares.." Torrent looked to him, seeing Ares now fully healed. Thunder was also healed, warming himself up angrily. "Ahem.. you said the gods wanted you dead?" Torrent asked, the rest looking to him.
"Zeus invaded my home. Explained that I need to stop my search for a boy she named Vex. He's apparently the one who did it. Harles son wasn't fond of me, and he ended up getting himself killed at.. my hands. Vex took his revenge on me through Sirin. I can't let that stand." Ares explained. "This may not be good for the kids to hear."
"We are old enough now-!" Abenanka whined
"I think he means Cyrus and maybe Kiir." Torrent sighed.
"They're asleep." Terra said quietly.
"Well.. now I have a name, but I also have a realm of highly powerful beings that want me dead." He explained "I was hoping you all, or maybe just a couple would help." Ares looked at them all. They looked to one another, silence falling on the room.
"...Ill help." Abenanka offered.
"Nanka." Terra said stern.
"What? I'm almost an adult now- I've been training hard! Dad has been training me a lot.. I've gotten stronger." Nanka argued.
"I can try and help.." Doremi offered, Benjamin nodding in agreement.
"If my kid is helping then I am too." Torrent sighed.
"Hrrggh.. fine!" Thunder whined.
"Sorry, Ares, but I must look after Kiir and Cyrus." Terra smiled a bit
"No worries, Terra. I'm not even sure I want to drag Doremi, Benji and Nanka into this." Ares sat forwards somewhat.
"They might not get a choice." Iba spoke up. "They know about your affiliation. Chances are, everyone you know is at risk, Father." Iba shrugged a bit.
"Hrmn.." Ares fell silent in thought, pushing his hair back again.

Olympus, a large beautiful city. Inside a large temple on top of the tallest mountain in the realm.

"He refused to stand down." Zeus placed her hands on her hips. She was standing in a temple looking at a throne, a tall figure sat on it.
"So Vex is still at risk?" A voice asked.
"Yes, ma'am." Zeus nodded.
"Give him Death-bringer.. I'll get some of Olympus' finest to hunt down Ares." The voice continued.
"Thank you." Mautilia was standing near the entrance, leaning on a pillar. She wore a long cloak, with silver hair falling down over her face, and a large scythe in her grip.
"You still have the girls soul, don't you?" The voice asked. Mautilia nodded, reaching into the cloak and pulling it out. It was a pure soul, white as anything, with a dash of black running through it.
"Purest one I've seen in many years." Mautilia commented. "That black stuff is the void."
"Keep it with you. Just in case." The voice waved her hand dismissively.
