65. Reclaiming

You panted heavily as you huffed out a shaky breath, blowing some strands of silver hair away from your face. With your katana and shield drawn out, you were positioned behind the group, Irene and Mingyu leading the team from the front as they ran across the hallways of Hemel's castle, each person's footsteps echoing in the strangely empty area.

Following your instincts as the guardian, you looked forward and glanced at the group of people before you. Behind Irene and Mingyu was Emily, bow gripped tightly in her hands and brown hair flowing in the wind. You stared at your best friend for a moment and scanned her stern expression, jaw clenched and teeth gritted, eyes screaming for blood. She looked terrifyingly serious, you could admit.

Next to Emily was, to nobody's surprise, Jin who was armed with his golden trident, one that he had brought with him from Tranen. Behind the couple was the club leader Jimin, expression blocked out of your view due to the way he was running, orange hair bright and fluffy. Namjoon was next to him, face mask up and concealing half of his face. You couldn't help but notice how the purple haired man kept glancing at the thunder gem bearer every few seconds, making you wonder is anybody else was noticing this.

You then noticed Hoseok, who was smirking at Namjoon and Jimin, eyes glinting mischievously behind his goggles. Ah, looks like someone did.

Yoongi was behind the two, Holly flying just above his head of grey hair. You stared at his back for a moment, feeling a bit bittersweet. Remembering what he told you before leaving Vlam, you knew that not being together as a couple was the best decision for the both of you. Although you knew that you will always feel bad for how your relationship with him ended since you knew that it could have been done differently and less painfully.

But all was done and there was nothing you could do about it. You knew that besides you having powers as the guardian, the only way to repay Yoongi for all those days was with kindness, to be one of the best friend he's ever had. And that was your mission.

"Sky," A very familiar voice rang before you could glance at Taehyung. Moving your head to the source of Kiama's voice, you saw her hovering next to you, body in the air as she floated and followed the pace of the group effortlessly. Nobody was reacting, making you assume that they still couldn't see the former guardian.

"Kiana," You whispered while glancing at the others, making sure that they wouldn't hear you. Recalling what Taehyung and Jungkook had said during the confrontational breakfast, you huffed, just as Kiana turned away with pursed lips. "You... Who really are you?"

Kiana was silent for a moment, making you wonder how long the hallway was to allow time for this situation, or if time was seemingly slowing down due to all the tension in the air.

In this moment, you finally found the time to glance at Taehyung. He was running across you, Kiana's figure separating the two of you. The darkness gem bearer was holding his staff, its tip glowing a bright purple. You wondered what his connection with the former guardian was and, remembering how angry he was at the mention of the Helian woman's death, figured that she had been someone important to both him and Jungkook.

Taehyung suddenly glanced at you, his eyes widening due to the unexpected eye contact. You both turned away, cheeks tinting slightly pink. Still, you thought about Kiana, wondering why she had kept her relationship with the two Vredeian bearers from you for so long. You knew that she definitely had her reasons but can't help but feel a bit disappointed.

It took a while until Kiana finally faced you to speak. "Sky... I'm... I'm sorry."

You didn't reply at the first, the tone of Kiana's voice telling you how genuine her apology was. Sighing, you smiled at her sincerity. "K— Kiana, it's okay. I know that there's a reason for you to hide the truth and really, I don't mind."

"No, Sky. It's not okay," Kiana was urged by the silence to continue. This time, her voice had a much more stable tone. The Helian woman faced you, a sort of bitter smile on her face. "I... have lied to you about a lot of things, about myself and... I apologize. I was not at all truthful to you. I know that you believed me to be the wise former guardian but to be quite honest with you, I—"

"Kiana is a good person," Taehyung spoke suddenly as you turned towards him in shock since Kiana had made herself visible to the darkness gem bearer. He glanced back at the two, his dark eyes piercing into you. His voice was soft compared to his usual tone which surprised you but at the same time, you felt happy. "Listen, Sky. I don't know what Kiana told you or how much it differs from what I know but I can tell you one thing — every choice she makes is for the benefit of everyone else. It always was."

You glanced up at Kiana, who was staring back at Taehyung with glassy eyes. Again, you wondered how they were connected, but you could tell that including Jungkook, the three of them seemed to have a certain bond. It was a bond that was tightly knitted together, something that showed you that they were more than just acquaintances. They had a connection, one that was strong.

"Taehyu—"

Kiana's words were cut off when Irene and Mingyu suddenly halted, causing a chain reaction of people bumping into one another. You instinctively moved your shield to your side and made as a small oof sound as you collided with someone's back, the force flinging you backwards you fell to the floor.

"You okay there, Cloud?," Yoongi asked as he hovered above, hand stretched out towards you as he smirked playfully. Holly was perched on his shoulders, snapping its jaws at you cheerfully.

You smiled before grabbing Yoongi's hand, huffing as he hoisted you back to your feet. There was a slight throbbing in your head and you assumed that Kiana had entered your mind once again since she had disappeared. "Thanks, Yoongi."

Yoongi stared at you for a while before a gummy smile spread across his face. He lifted his hand before flicking your forehead softly, making you release a small yelp. "Don't sweat it. I'll always be here when you need it, okay?"

Not really knowing what to say to that, you were unable to reply. When you finally opened your mouth with the intention of saying the first thing that came to mind, you were cut off by Irene's voice from up ahead. "Y-Your Highness!"

You whipped your head towards the direction of the voice, blood running cold at the thought of King Lucius defeating Jungkook and coming to confront everyone else. Positioning yourself in a fighting stance, you glanced at Yoongi then at Taehyung, who was behind the fire gem bearer. All three had the same thoughts in mind.

With Yoongi and Taehyung tailing behind, you made your way through the crowd, hands trembling as you gripped your katana. You could feel Kiana's presence in your head but strangely, she was silent.

Once you stood in between Emily and Jin, you sighed in relief when you saw Queen Miranda standing before you. Noticing that Irene and Mingyu were bowing, you immediately followed as the rest of the team did the same.

"Please rise, young heroes," Queen Miranda spoke softly and you noticed that despite everyone hesitating, Taehyung was the first to stand. Irene and Mingyu stood next to Hemel's Queen as everyone slowly rose to their feet. "I apologize for my husband's actions. He isn't necessarily... open-minded when it comes to a lot of things."

"It's fine," Taehyung spoke gently, making you raise your eyebrow at the sudden change of his aura. "What matters is that we're all safe."

"The food was really good though...," Jimin whispered, his small frame hidden behind Namjoon's tall figure as he peaked shyly.

"It would have tasted better if it wasn't drugged," Namjoon joked, Jimin releasing a string of light laughter as a response. The earth gem bearer then smiled warmly at the orange head, his expression screaming cute. There was an obvious spark between them and you weren't if you should coo at the cuteness or scoff at the cheesiness.

Then again, you and Yoongi were almost as cheesy as they were before.

Queen Miranda, on the other hand, did not answer to Taehyung's remark. Instead, she sighed deeply before facing Mingyu, who made a formal gesture the moment the Hemelian Queen laid her eyes on him. "Mingyu, where is my son?"

"The Crowned Prince wished to confront King Lucius himself," Joy's voice rang suddenly before Mingyu could answer. The Hemelian magical was standing behind Queen Miranda, white mist fading around her feet. She elegantly bowed once more, hands folded over her chest in a gentle pose. "I tried to convince him not to, Queen Miranda, but Jungkook had this spark of determination in his eyes. When I saw it, I knew that he would not listen to whatever I say."

"Jungkook... He's always been a stubborn boy," Queen Miranda whispered under her breath but since you were standing close to her, you heard it clearly. She then put on a stern expression as she clutched the fabric of her gown. "We must go to him. Taehyung."

Taehyung looked up upon hearing his name, swallowing a bit at how everyone was staring at him. Still, he put on a straight face and placed a hand on his chest before bowing. "Yes, Queen Mira—"

"Jungkook has a great power within him, something that he will not be able to control once it is released," Queen Miranda was sounding more skeptical with each word she spoke, surprising you since she was usually calm whenever you'd see her. It seemed that the Hemelian Queen realized this as well since she pulled away and folded her hands instantly. "If we do not find him, he will be in grave danger."

"How much danger are we talking about here?," Emily asked bluntly, earning a light nudge from Jin, the protector just shrugging at her own words. Being used to your best friend being too direct, you just laughed.

Queen Miranda, however, was not amused. Her eyes shifted to an emotion of pure sorrow as her lips pressed into a thin line. You could tell how much the Queen was extremely worried about her son. This made you wonder how Jungkook was doing at this very moment. "With all that power, Jungkook might not end up just killing his father but also himself. Please, we must go to him."

-

Jungkook felt strange. He could hear his own breaths, short yet desperate. His vision had darkened, everything becoming a blur of black and white in his eyes. His body was still curled, back throbbing as he clawed onto the floor, nails leaving deep scratch marks onto the red carpet.

Groaning, Jungkook let out a short scream of pain when he felt his spine shifting under the skin of his back, followed by the sounds of tearing flesh, drops of hot blood splattering across his bare skin. He continued to curl on the ground, snapping his eyes open when he heard footsteps approaching.

"Jungkook," King Lucius approached Jungkook slowly, taking each step carefully. The prince continued to writhe on ground, a burning sensation coursing through his veins. "Son, are you alright? We need to call a do—"

"Don't come closer," Jungkook snapped before growling, bearing his now sharp fangs, eyes glowing a bright light blue color. King Lucius flinched a bit at the sight and froze in his tracks, the prince seeing an expression of horror on his father for the first time. "Don't you fucking dare."

"...Jungkook, listen to me," King Lucius spoke sternly, his authoritative attitude still present, despite Jungkook screaming in pain on the ground, limbs curling into a ball as his back continued to bleed. "Stop being stubborn. Something is wrong with you and we need to get help before you—"

"Shut up," Jungkook hissed, a newfound confidence flowing within him. He trembled as he got on his knees, blood seeping from his fingertips due to how he had continuously scratched the ground. Looking up at the dark silhouette of King Lucius that he could barely make out with a piercing glare, he smirked a bit, anger boiling within him. "Just shut up. I'm tired of you. I'm tired of being miserable because of you. I'm tired of living in the shadow of a King who calls himself great and wise, even though he isn't! I'm so fucking tired!"

Something else snapped within Jungkook, his breath hitching as he grabbed his temples and trembled. The prince let out a broken cry at the immense pain that shot up his back once more. The tearing sound returned but this time, he felt something sprout of his back, flesh tearing as whatever was concealed under his skin finally broke free.

Jungkook finally caught his breath, a feeling of ecstasy going through him, forcing him to bite his lips to prevent himself from releasing a sound of pleasure. Back still throbbing due to the fresh wound, the prince struggled slightly as he stood up, vision finally clearing.

Suddenly, Jungkook felt powerful, like he could crush planets in his palms and shatter the sky with a snap of his fingers. It felt... good. It felt good to be so strong, to finally have the ability to fight for himself.

Stepping forward once, Jungkook nearly lost his balance due to the heavy weight on his back. His face also felt hot, making him sweat. Grabbing his own face, the prince noticed that his nails were now long talons, the skin of his hands glowing with a bright white hue.

Jungkook, remembering the golden tiled walls of the throne room, faced the wall in order to see his reflection. The sight made him gasp softly.

Two more pairs of big white wings had sprouted out of his back and were positioned under his original set of wings, fresh blood still dripping from its feathers. The cloth of his jeans had torn at his calves, small wings protruding from them. An even tinier pair of wings was on each side of his head, just above his ears. His blonde hair had grown longer, bangs covering one of his eyes, which were void of pupils and had a bright blue hue, a single white dot as his iris.

Jungkook felt it again. There was an incredible power surging in his veins just begging to be released. His hands trembled as he balled them to fists, misty light coating the glowing white skin of his arms.

And at this moment, Jungkook recalled a memory from his childhood. A three year old version of him reading his parents' thoughts for the first time, followed by an emergency session to the royal magic doctor. The little prince had been sitting on the clinic, watching his worried mother in tears, whilst his father eyed him cautiously.

The doctor's words were clear, yet those thoughts had been pushed to the very back of Jungkook's mind.

"Royal King, Royal Queen, I am glad to say that there is nothing wrong with your son. These mind reading abilities he possesses come with his true angel form, the—"

"Seraphim," Jungkook whispered to himself, light still circling around his arms. "The most powerful of all the angels."

Most powerful of all the angels. Jungkook flicked his eyes towards King Lucius, a big smirk spreading across his face as he started to glow brightly.

"Father," Jungkook spoke slowly, his voice dripping with both mischief and excitement. King Lucius looked terrified beyond his mind, the sight making sweet adrenaline pump through the prince's heart. "What's wrong? You look a bit scared, yeah?"

King Lucius struggled for words before ultimately clicking his tongue and putting on a snarl. "Just because you are a Seraphim does not mean I am intimidated! I am still the King and your fa—"

Unable to hold it in any longer, Jungkook clutched his stomach let out a fit of laughter, one that echoed throughout the silent throne room. The prince wiped away the incoming tears, all six of his wings flapping behind him in amusement. "If you really are not afraid of me, father, then why don't you go ahead and fight me?"

"What?," King Lucius asked in shock, eyes widened as Jungkook made a taunting gesture, a malicious smirk on his face. "Jungkook, stop with this nonsense! There is no need to fight!"

Jungkook rolled his eyes, scoffing at King Lucius' neutrality once again. He flapped his wings, feeling a great amount of cold air tickle his bare back as feathers fell off. Instead of falling to the ground, the white feathers levitated in the air, tips sharpening as they pointed at his father.

Licking his lips, Jungkook chuckled at the thought of overpowering his father.

"Jungkook Aurum! Stop this instant!"

King Lucius' words made Jungkook's eye twitch as his teeth gritted. With the thoughts of avenging Kiana in mind, the prince flapped his wings with great strength, making the feathers launch towards his father.

Gasping a bit, King Lucius crossed his arms over his face, creating a forcefield made with pure light. At the same time, the Hemelian King unleashed his true angel form — Cherubim, the heads of a lion, eagle and bull roaring between his big white wings.

King Lucius grunted as his the ground beneath his feet cracked due to the force, sharp feathers still striking him. It finally ended, making him sigh in relief, forcefield fading.

Due to this, the King was unable to see Jungkook quickly flying towards him with a raised fist, a smile of pure satisfaction on his face.

King Lucius was unable to dodge the punch, leading to Jungkook hitting square in the face. The prince cackled as his feet scraped the ground, his father's figure crushing the throne as he collided with it.

Jungkook stood there with a taunting gesture, arms crossed over his chest and all six wings pointed ahead, as King Lucius struggled to rise from the debris of his throne. "You— Fine then! If it's a fight you want then it's a fight you'll get!"

King Lucius charged forward, the lion head on his back roaring. Jungkook raised an eyebrow before grinning, white irises glowing. The prince raised his hand, light crystallizing to a pentagon shaped forcefield.

Jungkook was stunned when King Lucius shattered the forcefield, pieces of the crystal light flying. Before he could speak, he felt a sharp sting on his left cheek, then he had crashed into the wall.

Thankfully, Jungkook had folded his wings in order to shield, causing one of them to throb painfully. Clicking his tongue, he hissed loudly before drawing his claws out and pouncing towards King Lucius.

Jungkook's neck was grabbed by King Lucius, preventing him from getting closer. He then slashed his clawed hands as the two of them struggled in midair, white feathers flying everywhere. The first hand missed, his father barely dodging it, but the second hand had left three claw marks on his face.

Seeing how King Lucius was distracted whilst he screamed in pain, Jungkook smirked at the opportunity and grabbed him by the collar. Angling his wings, he flipped in the air before tossing his father to the ground.

King Lucius groaned and winced when he realized that one of his wings was bent in an awkward angle. The lion and eagle heads were howling, the bull's head now limp.

Jungkook landed on top of King Lucius, the ground beneath his feet cracking as he did. He smirked maliciously, licking his lips as he balled one of his hands to fists. Hot light glowed in his palm until it materialized into a sword.

Loud roars came from the lion and eagle heads, making Jungkook raise an eyebrow. He stared at them and flicked his fingers, sharp bolts of light striking their foreheads, killing them instantly.

"Jungkook," King Lucius wheezed with blood trickling down his mouth as Jungkook spun the sword in his hands, whistling a random tune without a care. "You— you cannot—"

"Cannot what?!," Jungkook spat and bared his pointed teeth, jaw clenched as he trembled in anger. "All my life, you've been telling me what I can't do. A prince can't do this, a prince can't do that, a prince must be perfect! Well, father... I'll show you what I can do."

A big grin spread across Jungkook's face as he raised his hand, the sword's blade shining under the bright light. The look of pure terror on King Lucius' face made him feel excited, adrenaline pumping in his heart and flowing throughout his body. With a loud laugh, he swung down.

Jungkook released a small sound of confusion when his sword failed to collide with King Lucius' face, instead it clashed with what sounded like metal. His father's eyes were widened as well. It took a moment for them to realize what happened.

Taehyung was bending down on his knees between Jungkook and King Lucius, purple mist fading around him. His snake-head staff was the only thing separating Hemel's King from the sword.

"What are you doing," Jungkook said flatly, eyes wide as he stared at Taehyung's clenched teeth. Unable to fully recognize his friend, he continued to speak. "Get out of my way."

"Jungkook, snap out of it!," Taehyung spat as he stood up, pushing Jungkook backwards. The angel stared back in silence as the darkness gem bearer leaned in, nose in between his staff's body and the swords blade. "This isn't you. Listen, your Seraphim is using your anger against you and you have to—"

"Did you not hear me?," Jungkook asked with a venomous tone, hands snaking up to Taehyung's chest before he grabbed his collar, nails nearly tearing through the leather cloth. He pulled the Helian forward, the angel snapping his teeth at him. "I said get out of the way."

Taehyung opened his mouth but was cut short when Jungkook threw him across the room. Gasps and screams came from the team who were standing at the doorway as the darkness gem bearer collided head first to the wall. He fell to the ground unconscious.

Jungkook still failed to recognize Taehyung and only registered the Helian as an opponent. He raised his hand once more, expression blank as he shot out a beam of light from his palm.

"Taehyung!"

Hearing your voice, Jungkook watched as you ran from the group, Emily calling your name. With a clenched jaw, you rolled in front of Taehyung's body and raised your shield, right before the beam could harm any of you.

"Sky!," Yoongi called out in worry, Holly releasing a cry on his shoulders. Everyone else was behind, staring at both Seraphim Jungkook and unconscious Taehyung in shock.

"I'm fine!," You screamed back with a clenched jaw, the force of the beam pushing you backwards. Glancing at Taehyung, you winced at the droplets of blood on his forehead.

Jungkook just tilted his head, mind too clouded to realize that he was currently attacking his friends. He flicked his beady white eyes towards the group, the angry screams of Emily turning into muffled voices in his ears. Raising his other hand, a whir came from the prince's palm as he prepared another light beam.

A feeling of dread washed over you. It was like Jungkook was making you choose between protecting Taehyung versus everyone else. Panic filled your system as you glanced between the two parties, thoughts conflicted in your head.

"Everyone get behind me!," Namjoon screamed and pulled Jimin to his side by instinct as the rest shuffled to hide behind the earth gem bearer. Walls of rock rose from the ground, creating a semi-circular dome wall before the team.

When Namjoon made eye contact with you, it was as if he had told you his thoughts through words. The earth gem bearer himself was unsure whether the rock walls could stop Jungkook's light beam or not. And this made you gulp dryly.

You scanned through the crowd of your friends huddling together, chest tightening at the sight of Emily shivering in Jin's arms, despite the brave face she was trying to put on. However, there was one thing you noticed — Where was Queen Miranda?

Everything happened so quickly. There was a gust of wind, then Jungkook's hand was pushed away, the light beam striking the wall in a diagonal pattern before fading away. You wheezed as you crumpled to the ground before crawling towards Taehyung.

"Jungkook!"

Queen Miranda's booming voice made Jungkook turn around as you and the rest did the same. Hemel's Queen was standing in front of King Lucius' figure, hands balled into fists as her eyes glowed a powerful light blue color. The three animal heads were roaring between her wings.

"Mo—," Jungkook stared at Queen Miranda, his thoughts becoming conflicted. Shaking his head, he growled loudly and attempted to push her away. "Get out of my way."

"Look at me," Queen Miranda spoke sternly, her grip on Jungkook's face gentle yet firm. The prince was staring at the group behind her, hissing as hot light crackled at his fingertips. "Jungkook Aurum, I'm right here. Look at me."

Due to Queen Miranda's sharp tone, Jungkook finally shifted his piercing gaze towards her, growling a bit. There was a silence, the two only staring at each other.

"Listen, I'm sorry that I wasn't able to protect you from being hurt and losing what you had then," Queen Miranda inhaled with a shaky breath, stopping herself from choking out a cry. Jungkook was staring at her blankly. "I... can never ever bring back what you've lost but I refuse to lose you to this."

Jungkook tilted his head, wincing when his head started to throb. Queen Miranda took this as a sign to continue.

"Dear... You're in so much pain right now and you just want it to go away," Queen Miranda said softly, lips trembling as she pressed her forehead on Jungkook's, the prince giving no reaction whatsoever. "But not like this. Not when you're not yourself. Not at the expense of your light. I beg of you, please—"

Queen Miranda takes a deep breath and holds Jungkook tighter. The feeling is warm, comforting even.

"Please come back home to me"

Jungkook continued to stare at Queen Miranda, eyes blinking and mouth open. In that moment of his mother's smooth hands cupping his face, he recalled another childhood memory.

Queen Miranda comforting young Jungkook after an argument with King Lucius, cupping his face as she sang him to sleep. His mother, screaming at his father to stop treating their son like a tool as he shivered on the floor.

Jungkook blinked, his eyes turning back to their normal light blue irises. He inhaled sharply and grabbed Queen Miranda's wrists out of instinct. "Mother?"

"Jungkook?," Queen Miranda asked, tears shimmering in her eyes as she pulled Jungkook into a hug. "Jungkook! Oh thank Macht..."

Jungkook was confused. Pulling away from the hug, the prince looked around and winced at the destruction littered around the throne room. "M-Mother? What happened? Wh—"

Then Jungkook saw it. Queen Miranda's thoughts, showing him what exactly had happened. He saw himself flying around, laughing as he threw punches at King Lucius. He saw himself throw Taehyung across the room and attack his friends.

Jungkook suddenly felt sick in the stomach and fell on his knees. He glanced at Taehyung, who was now awake but barely conscious as he laid between you and Jin. "Mother, I— What did I do? I hurt everyone, I—"

"It's okay, dear, it's okay," Queen Miranda pulled Jungkook into an even tighter hug and gently stroked his blonde hair. "You're okay now. You're okay..."

"Stop overreacting."

Hearing Taehyung's voice, Jungkook turned around to face him. The darkness gem bearer was wobbling a bit, using his staff to support himself, yet a small smile was on his face despite the pain he was obviously feeling.

"We're fine. Don't act like you murdered any of us," Taehyung rolled his eyes before crossing his arms over his chest. He saw Jungkook staring at him with glassy eyes, making the Helian raise an eyebrow at the angel. "Why are you looking at me like that? It's not like you did what you did on pur—"

Taehyung was cut off by Jungkook, who dove at him with his big wings and engulfed him in a tight hug. The Hemelian prince mumbled his next words into the darkness gem bearer's chest. "I thought I killed you."

"I'm pretty sure that I'll live through this headache," Taehyung chuckled as he slowly snaked his hands around Jungkook's back before returning the hug. The firm was grip and stern, almost as if he was saying: I don't want to let go. "By the way, the next time you scare me like that, I won't hesitate to kick your ass."

Jungkook knew what Taehyung meant. He smiled and pat his shoulders. "I'll be counting on that."

The corner of Taehyung's lips curled upwards into a small smile. He then shifted his gaze to someone behind Jungkook before walking away, the angel turning around curiously.

Taehyung slowly walked towards Queen Miranda, everyone watching the sight with a mixture of shock and anticipation. The Hemelian Queen smiled as the Helian bowed before grabbing her hand in an attempt to kiss it in a respectful manner.

"Queen Miranda, I would like to—"

Instead, Queen Miranda pulled Taehyung into a hug, making the darkness gem bearer release a yelp he failed to conceal. You couldn't but laugh at his expression, especially since he has received more hugs than he could count in one day.

"There is no need for formality, Taehyung. You're basically family to us," Queen Miranda spoke softly, the fingers of her hands curled into Taehyung's hair. She then glanced at Jungkook, who was staring at them awkwardly. "Come here, dear."

Jungkook swept back his long blonde bangs before grinning widely. He basically flew towards Queen Miranda, who caught him perfectly. The two of them laughed lightly, everyone else smiling at the scene. You were the most proud in the crowd since you could see Taehyung hugging back.

Taehyung had a sour expression on his face, almost as if he was regretful. Jungkook didn't think much of it at the moment.

King Lucius suddenly coughed loudly, the soft aura in the air shattering instantly. He was just standing there despite his broken wings and dead animal heads. Jungkook winced at the piercing glare that appeared on Queen Miranda's face whilst Taehyung slipped away from the hug silently.

"And you," Queen Miranda hissed, Jungkook and everyone else flinching at her sharp tone. King Lucius avoided eye contact. "Do not think for one second that this is any mercy."

Jungkook jumped in his place when a hand grabbed his arm, relaxing when he saw Mingyu instead. He gently pulled the prince away from the fuming figure of Queen Miranda.

"Looks like things are about to go down," Jimin whispered from behind Namjoon as he clutched the earth gem bearer's jacket.

"Crowned Prince, it will be of your benefit if you step out of this room," Mingyu whispered, his hand reaching for the door.

Jungkook raised a brow before giving Mingyu a sharp look. He knew what was coming, that his mother was finally going to stand up to his father, and this something he needed to see. "I'm staying."

"Jung—"

"You heard me."

Mingyu went silent, shivering a bit under Jungkook's gaze. He then sighed loudly and bowed before releasing the prince's arm.

"I have stood by you because of the king — the man you were but from where I stand, he is long gone!," Queen Miranda snapped loudly and furiously pulled her wedding ring before tossing it at King Lucius. Everyone gasped, Jungkook's mouth gaping. "You have hurt this kingdom and my son with your spinelessness!"

"Uh, Jungkook, will you be alright?," Hoseok stuttered out, an awkward smile on his face as he rubbed his nape. "I mean, I really hated seeing my parents fight when I was a kid—"

"I'll be fine," Jungkook spoke sternly with balled fists, silencing Hoseok.

"I refuse to stand by a man who cannot stand up for both," Queen Miranda continued as she stepped towards King Lucius, who was staring at the wedding ring on the ground in shock. "From this day forth, you are king by title only unless you earn it back. Believe me, I refuse to make that easy on you."

Jungkook watched silently as Queen Miranda stood right in front of King Lucius with a snarl, a finger pressed to his chest.

"This is your final warning," Queen Miranda whispered, words barely audible to Jungkook's ears. "You are only able to stay where you are to amend your sins. Do not waste this if you want me to have any shred of respect left for you."

A deafening silence fell in the room, Queen Miranda's last words echoing. She was panting heavily, rise and chest falling as she awaited King Lucius' reply. Everyone was staring with wide eyes while Jungkook had his lips pursed into a thin line.

"I—," King Lucius struggled for words. He then sighed loudly before carefully taking the crown off his own head. "I understand... and I—"

"Your Highness!"

There was a foreign voice that boomed right after the throne room's doors slammed open, making everyone whip their heads towards the sound. The poor Hemelian soldier shivered as he receives glares from all three members of the royal family.

"Speak your thoughts, boy," King Lucius spoke, his voice back to its regular stern tone.

"Uhm," The Hemelian soldier composed himself for a few minutes before finally doing a formal bow. "Hemel's gates have been breached."

Everyone gasped loudly, a mixture of what and hows erupting from the crowd. Jungkook stepped forward with a clenched jaw, an idea of what was happening already in his mind. "By who?"

The Hemelian soldier gulped as he glanced at Taehyung, who had no expression whatsoever. He faced Jungkook once more, his next words serving as arrow to the chest for angel prince.

"Hel has waged a war with Hemel."
