34. Reassurance

"Sky... Sky, wake up."

You grunted, rubbing your throbbing head as you slowly regained consciousness. The first thing you noticed once your vision cleared was the dusty floor, the metal cold against your palms. Still a bit dizzy, you stood up, confusion hitting you when the whole floor started to wobble and when you grabbed the metal bars of the cage, you finally regained your mentality and realized what was going on.

The air was cold and was lightly hitting your cheeks, your stomach turning queasy when you realized where you were. A tiny rusty bird cage, barely hanging from the tip of a thick root from a floating island. You pressed your hands on your head and tugged on your hair — which was difficult because of the handcuffs — trying to figure out how this all came to be, since your most recent memory was being in the ship, then there was a strong blow on your head and everything turned dark.

"You and the rest of the wonders were captured by Luchtian soldiers, those manipulated by the King of Hel," You jumped in your place at the sudden voice, which caused the cage to rattle violently. Turning around and nearly giving yourself whiplash, you expected to see someone, face-palming mentally when you realized that it was just K, who was still in your head. "The King of Hel... he was smart, pinning Jungkook's wings and knocking out Taehyung. Hoseok was also taken somewhere else. There is no way for you and the others to be granted freedom."

"Are you giving up, K?!," You snarled, pressing your cheeks on the cold metal bars, setting aside your fear and looking down at the great height. "You can't just say that there's no way, there has to be. There has to be!"

K went silent at your remark as you racked your brain, trying to think of a solution. You lost balance when strong wind suddenly blew, making your cage rattle, butt hitting the floor. As your tailbone ached, you noticed something — right to your cage was Jin's and he was inside, screaming at whatever was out of your line of sight. From the distance, you could see the fringes of his blonde hair and his mouth opening constantly.

You stood and shouted at the top of your lungs, calling Jin's name in hopes of getting his attention. However, he was too focused on what he was screaming at, and you were defeated because you knew — he wouldn't hear you no matter what.

So you continued staring at the clouds and somehow, the sight of Jin's cage swinging and the roots above gave you an idea. "...I've got it."

"Sky," K warned, worry lacing her voice, something that surprised you because she was usually very composed. "It is too dangerous."

"I'm the guardian, K. I'd risk my life to protect Emily and the wonders," You stepped backwards and started to kick the door of the cage, hoping that it could somehow break open. Struggling because of the handcuffs and small space, you continued, releasing a grunt of frustration when you slipped and landed on your ass once more.

"...You really are just like your mother, Sky. Brave yet also take too many risks," Purple mist coated your handcuffs until they snapped apart but you were stunned by K's words. It took a moment until you processed what she said.

You held your knees to stand, rubbing your wrists as your lips trembled. Mother. That word was a mystery itself to you — she was the woman who had given you life, given you the blessing of seeing the world, yet you had absolutely no idea who she was. You only knew what her voice sounded like because of your dreams but you were still unsure if that was only a fabrication of your loneliness. "K... you- you knew my mother?"

"...That's a story for another day, Sky," You shrieked when the door swung open and somehow, you knew it was K's doing. "Do not doubt yourself, you are more capable than you think. Believe in yourself. I will help you out whenever you are in need. Now, go on with your plan."

You smiled at K's words, now reassured that she really did care about you and the others, even though she had those moments when she was insensible and literally having no emotions. Stepping forward, your toes hung off the open entrance of the cage and you gripped the bars to prevent yourself from falling. "Thanks, K."

Shifting your weight and forcing the cage to spin, you thought of your plan carefully — you were going to reach Jungkook or Taehyung, whoever is nearer, and would free them so they could rescue the others. To this, you had to swing across with the roots and cages. It was dangerous, the shield strapped to your back adding to the weight, but it was the only way. They couldn't waste any more time, especially since Hoseok was separated from the group, which meant he was probably more vulnerable.

You took in deep breaths once you were facing Jin's cage. It was a bit far but there was a branch hanging in between and when you calculated in your head, it was enough of a distance. Stepping backwards, you calmed yourself, preparing. There was only one shot for each jump because you definitely couldn't fly or levitate... but you had to. You had to.

Slapping yourself lightly, you snapped out of your thoughts and broke into a sprint. Your feet left the cage's ground and for a moment, you were stunned by how you were in mid air, with absolutely no safe landing. Then, you felt the rough root against your fingers, your heart thumping greatly in relief. However, you made the mistake of looking down, and the thought of falling endlessly made you swallow dryly.

"Sky, it is okay. Do not be afraid."

Fueled with motivation by K's words, you swung your legs back and forth, using your weight to propel yourself upwards. Once you knew it was enough, you let go of the root, landing perfectly on top of Jin's cage, the force making it shake violently.

"Holy chicken McNuggets! What in the—," Jin paused once he looked up and saw your crouching figure, desperately clinging onto the root above so you wouldn't fall. "Sky?! You're awake?! W-What are you doing up there?! How—"

"I'm freeing you all," You took out the screwdriver from your pocket, transforming it into a katana in your hands. Making gesture, Jin got it immediately and reached out his hands. You used the blade to cut the handcuffs. "Where's Jungkook?"

Jin opened his mouth to reply but another voice came first. "He's two cages away from mine!"

Both you and Jin turned to the side and saw Emily facing you both with wide glassy eyes. Since you knew that your best friend had a great fear of heights, seeing her in this state made you pity her. It motivated you even more — you had to reach Jungkook or Taehyung and save the rest.

"Stay put," You whispered at Jin and placed your katana underneath your shield, making sure that it wouldn't fall no matter how much you moved.

"Not that I can do much anyway," Jin muttered under his breath before you jumped, grabbing the base of Emily's cage and using it to swing to the next one. You heard Emily scream to you to he careful and you were about to reply that you were going to be fine — until you realized that your jump was short and you definitely wouldn't make it to the other cage.

You scolded yourself for your stupidity and braced yourself for a long fall, then a hand grabbed yours. Looking up, you were surprised to see Yoongi staring back at you in shock, the door of his cage wide open. For a moment, you wondered why Yoongi wasn't handcuffed but that thought left you once you were pulled inside the cage, into his arms, to safety.

Nothing describe the way you felt whenever Yoongi engulfed you in a gentle hug — it was so right but at the same time... it felt so wrong. You weren't sure if it was your insecurity, how you thought Yoongi didn't deserve someone like you, or if it was something more, something you still haven't figured out.

K was silent.

"Babe, what the hell were you doing?!," Yoongi exclaimed after he pulled away from the hug, cupping your face in his hands and softly rubbing your cheeks with his thumbs. "You could have gotten hurt!"

"I can't sit back while we all rot in here," You bit the inside of your cheek, tightly grabbing Yoongi's arms. "Jungkook is in the cage next to yours, right? If I use my katana to free him, maybe he'll be able to get everyone else to land. I can't fly so I had to swing from one cage to the—"

Yoongi cut you off with a kiss, one that was soft yet passionate. As he wrapped his hands around your waist, you forgot about everything for a while. You delved deeper into passion and pleasure every second, forgetting about the weight of the situation, how everyone — especially Hoseok's life was in grave danger.

"You're so brave, babe," Yoongi said as he pulled away once more, your foreheads close, hot breaths tickling each other's faces. "Still, you should know your limits. Don't be intimidated by the fact that you're the guardian and take care of yourself too, okay?"

You smiled, nodding as you stepped backwards, happy at how Yoongi was so concerned about your well-being. Turning around, you spotted Jungkook in his cage, still rattling the metal bars out of complete frustration. This caused the cage to shake violently and you were worried that this would be a hindrance to your landing.

Then, you saw Yoongi's smile, the reassurance his eyes. Through them, he was telling you that everything was going to be alright and you would make it.

And you believed him.

"Thanks, Yoongi," You took in a deep breath as Yoongi moved, giving you space to run. Bending a knee, you calmed yourself and inhaled, getting ready.

Yoongi spoke out of the blue, sincerity lacing his deep voice. "I love you, Sky."

You blushed, especially because it was the first time Yoongi had actually said those words out loud with full confidence, even saying your name, not calling you babe or Cloud. This made you happy, it really did. "I love you too, Yoongi."

With that, you sprinted, jumping off the cage and landing right on top of Jungkook's. Of course, this caught the angel's attention, stopping him from his fury filled antics, eyes softening the moment he saw you. He spoke but you couldn't hear him because of the sight next to you.

Taehyung. He was sprawled on the floor of his cage, which was swaying slowly because of the wind, blood caking his dark jacket and dripping down in an endless fall to the ground. From where you were, you could see his face, which looked peaceful but at the same time, contorted with pain. The sight of him infuriated every cell in your body and you started to tremble out of anger.

Among the millions of people in the galaxy, you were chosen to the guardian of the seven wonders, yet one of them was bleeding out in front of your very eyes. You felt bad about yourself, like you betrayed your heavy responsibility.

You only got back to your senses when Jungkook started to scream. Wordlessly, you took out your katana and and shoved it in between the bars of the cage, angling it so you could sever Jungkook's handcuffs in half. At the same time, you told him to turn around and cut the object pinning his wings together. You couldn't hear your own words when they left your mouth. "Save Taehyung first."

Jungkook rolled his shoulders, groaning in pleasure at the sensation of his wings spreading, eyes widening when he realized what you said. "Huh? Sky, you should get to safety—"

"I said save Taehyung first. Can't you see that he's gravely injured?," Your firm voice caught Jungkook off-guard, making him flinch a bit as you held a strong grip on the root above. "Then Yoongi, Jin, Emily... I'm last."

Jungkook was silent, obviously protesting against your idea mentally, but the determined expression on your face made him think otherwise. He nodded, kicking the cage's door and jumping out of your sight. You smiled and watched him fly in the air, spinning, feathers shining under the sunlight but nothing made you expect him to bolt towards you, nearly tackling your body off the cage's surface.

Stunned, it took you a minute to realize what was going on. Jungkook was carrying you bridal style, flying up the air and over the land of the floating prison island. You punched his chest. "Jungkook, what are you doing?! I told you to—"

"Sorry, Sky, but just this once... I won't follow your orders," Jungkook showed off a toothy grin, gracefully placing you on the ground. He tickled your cheeks with the feathers of his wings, making you giggle at the contact (and at how it tickled you). "Stay here while I fetch the others, yeah?"

You nodded since there was nothing you could do anyways. While you looked around, at the barren, dry land of the prison island, it took less than five minutes until everyone was rescued from the cages. Jin had acted instantly and was now healing Taehyung with water but obviously, it would take a while until he regains consciousness.

"What do we do now?," Emily mused, staring at Taehyung with both knees on the ground. She turned around, long brown hair being blown by the strong wind. "We have to get all the way over there to Lucht but without Taehyung, we can't. It's not like Jungkook can carry all of us, right? And those two are the only ones who can fly in the group right now..."

"We find our ship," Namjoon voiced out before anyone else could speak, standing up, patting his thighs and running a hand through his purple hair. "The soldiers must have placed our ship in its own prison after putting us in those cages, hopefully in this island as well. We look for and rescue Hoseok, assist him to reclaim Lucht, then leave for the next kingdom. You all know that we're pressed for time, right? There's no time to waste."

"I like it," Everyone faced Yoongi, who was smirking with both arms crossed over his chest, in confusion. "What? It's the plan. I like it."

"Wait, how are you sure that the ship is here?," Jin questioned as he put some finishing touches on Taehyung's wound, also washing off the blood.

"I saw it," Jimin's words made everyone face him. He was standing near the edge of the island, staring into the clouds, and once he turned around, his orange bangs were swaying because of the wind. "They kind off parked it at the back of the island, I think? Put some chains on it too. I could see it from where my cage was placed."

"It's settled, then," You clasped your hands together and blew a raspberry. "We find the ship and go. We have no idea what they're doing to Hoseok right now but we have to find him. Now."

-

Hoseok never felt this kind of power before. He felt like he had the ability to push mountains, to summon winds strong enough to destroy a whole country. He was trembling because of his power, bathing in the sensation, loving how he now felt superior to Markus, who was below, cowering at the sight of the air gem bearer in his nearly ultimate form.

The tornado was intense, strong winds nearly wrecking the throne room, but Hoseok made sure that he wouldn't. He stared at his clawed hands, tilting his head at the beige feathers on his skin, wondering why he was growing them. Shaking the thought out of his mind, he faced Markus once more. "Don't you dare doubt me."

Markus screamed, taking what's left of his rope and swinging it, making it snap loudly in the air. "You think this is it?! I ain't afraid of you! Let's see who's laughing now once I make you crumple to your knees once more! Attack!"

At first, Hoseok was confused at how Markus screamed a command then he turned around, spotting some terrorized soldiers looking up at him, spears in their hands. Since Hoseok was staring right at them with his piercing green eyes, the soldiers were hesitant, one of them even dropping their weapon and running out of the room in absolute fear.

Hoseok didn't understand this. Sure, he was levitating, eyes sharp green, feathers adorning his arms and hands, surrounded by a powerful tornado that could destroy a whole town — but he didn't think that was something to be afraid of. His new appearance reminded himself of a bird soaring in the sky, strong and confident in the air and to him, it was beautiful.

However, everyone else thought otherwise. Markus himself had shaking limbs but he tried to hide this with a scowl. Hoseok saw right through his facade. "What are you idiots doing?! Attack him!"

"You don't have to listen to him," Hoseok said calmly, eyes softening once he faced the terrified soldiers. "Go and run, I won't hurt you if you do. Don't worry, everything is going to be fine."

Somehow, the soldiers were reassured by Hoseok's words. The purple rims around their green eyes faded and they dropped their weapons onto the ground, slowly stepping out of the room, even though they were struck with confusion. Hoseok knew, although it sounded farfetched in itself, he had somehow snapped the soldiers out of Markus' control.

"Wha— Impossible!," Markus screeched, clutching his bleeding shoulder, fingers digging into his flesh. "His Highness and I banded together to take control over all of Lucht's military! How can a few words from the likes of you break that spell?!"

It didn't take a few minutes for Hoseok to realize why and he was planning to Markus in a very unique way. He closed his eyes, reminiscing his days of dancing before the dreadful accident that took it all away from him. Thinking of a beat in his head, he danced to it, slowly at first, the speed of the wind matching with his own. Once the tornado was strong enough, he swung an arm, pillars of air aiming right at Markus.

Freezing for a moment, Markus crossed his arms over his own face, which didn't help that much because the force of the wind still made him lose balance and fall to the ground. He looked up, seeing Hoseok charging at him feet first, feathered arms resembling wings. He rolled to the side, just as Hoseok's feet crashed to the ground, which cracked slightly at contact.

Markus reached for his trusty rope and swung it towards Hoseok, who simply moved to dodge, although his cheek was cut slightly since it was grazed. The air gem bearer shifted his eyes towards Markus terrifying slowly, raising a hand and taking control of the tornado, angling it to make it lean.

Hoseok continued to twist his hand, the tornado intensifying each second. Markus, petrified out of fear for a while, snapped his rope once more but this time, it was shred pieces by the wind.

"The answer to your question is simple, Markus," Hoseok stood up, slowly walking towards Markus, whose legs had given away, with the tornado following right above him. He stared the other down with his green eyes, anger burning in them. "My name is Jung Hoseok, son of Eun Hee and Seowon, younger brother to Jiwoo, born and raised in Gwangju, South Korea. My family has been chosen to guard Lucht's gem of air. I am the rightful King of Vrede's air kingdom, not you or anyone else."

Hoseok paused once he raised both of his hands in the air, a bit stunned by how Markus was smirking despite his incoming doom. It made sense — one kingdom out of six, there were a lot more to go... but he wasn't bothered. There was always a start for everything.

"And I... I am the bearer of the air gem."

With a scream, Hoseok bared his pointed teeth and swung both of his arms, the tornado crashing right at Markus. Hoseok had to hover away to get away from the impact, his feathers fading as he rolled backwards on the ground. The ground rocked violently for a moment then the wind died out, leaving behind a crater in the middle of the throne room. He was gonna have that fixed one time.

Hoseok rubbed his palms together, head spinning at what had just occurred. He stared at his hands, which looked more human like now, and stepped towards the crater, feeling anxious. When he peeked over it and found Markus nowhere to be seen, body completely disintegrated, he sighed in relief and ran a hand through his now dark hair. Thank God, it's over, Lucht is free.

Lucht. Hoseok looked down inside the crater, seeing something glittering right at its core. He floated towards it, eyes widening when he realized it was a crown — Markus'.

Hoseok stood there stupidly, staring at the crown in awe. Now that he was holding it, he could examine it more closely — Indeed, the crown was purely made of vines and branches coiling together, a green stone replicating the air gem right at the center. He knew. Putting this on would officially make him the King of Lucht and the kingdom would be his, as it originally was supposed to.

Before Hoseok could put it on, however, there was a voice from above.

"Hoseok!"

Upon hearing his own name, Hoseok looked up, realizing that the throne room actually had no ceiling, which allowed more air to enter. The shadow of their ship casted over him as it slowly came into his sight, then a winged figure flew from the deck, carrying a person in his arms.

Jungkook landed on the ground, his feet tapping as he let go of your arms, allowing you to walk. The first thing you did was approach Hoseok with eyebrows scrunched together in worry. "Oh God, are we late?! Hoseok, are you alright?! You're injured?! We need to get you to Jin!"

Hoseok looked down, slowly realizing that he indeed was injured when the general had grazed the spear across his waist just before the others were captured. He didn't even realize it and almost instantly after he did, the pain shot all throughout his body. Both you and Jungkook were alerted by this.

"No, I still need to reclaim Lucht first," Hoseok demanded, despite how his face was contorted in pain. "I'm fine, Sky."

"Judging by the huge crater over there and at how you're currently bleeding out, you definitely aren't fine," Jungkook shrugged before you could panic even more, pointing a thumb towards the crater and flapping his wings slightly. He crossed his arms, squinting his eyes at the object in Hoseok's hands. "What's that?"

"Oh, this?," Hoseok raised the crown, the gem fading in out and from green to grey constantly. With your help, he wobbled as he regained his balance. "It's the crown of Lucht, I had to take it from this guy called Markus, who was in charge here. He was... the cause of that crater."

"This is no time for chit-chat, we have to get Hoseok—," You paised once you connected all the dots and Hoseok could almost see a loading button floating above your head while Jungkook's smile started to grow upon realization. Suddenly, you gasped, finally understanding it all. "Hoseok... you did it! You reclaimed Lucht, all on your own... Wow, you didn't need our help after all."

"Don't say that, Sky, I still need to put this on to officially reclaim Lucht... I think," Hoseok smiled, unconsciously wearing the crown as he spoke. "What matters is that all of you are oka—"

The stone of Hoseok's crown turned green, the color so bright that you had to cover your eyes. From the ground under his feet, the painted grass on the floor turned into real grass, Jungkook's jaw dropping at the sight. Once the whole room had fresh grass, the Maria tree suddenly bursted with life, leaves radiant and alive, the logo of Lucht appearing on its bark. Even the walls turned brighter and Hoseok swore that he could hear birds chirping, even though he couldn't see any at the moment.

Hoseok looked down at his gem, the Vredeian scripture of the word air revealed again after so long but this time another letter was above it. King.

"Hoseok," Jungkook called, staring at the closed doors of the throne room. "I think there's a commotion outside."

With that piece of information, Hoseok took no time running outside the room, nearly breaking down the doors as he exited. Again, the pain on his waist was forgotten and it was like he wasn't injured at all. Sprinting across the hallway, he pause in front of the door that lead outside and noticed a flight of stairs located at the corner. Intuition, it was screaming at him to climb up the stairs, so he did. It lead him to a balcony decorated with branches and flowers, the height giving him a beautiful view of Lucht, the trees now blooming, houses radiating. Birds were soaring, chirping as they flew around Hoseok, the same birds he had encountered in the ship. Up ahead he could see the clouds and vague silhouettes of floating islands close by. Compared to when he first arrived, the city looked so refreshed.

Below, Luchtian soldiers were slowly released from Markus' spell, regaining full control of their minds and bodies. They each had baffled expressions and Hoseon watched as the citizens slowly came out from hiding, finally exiting their homes, and reunited with the family member who was part of the military. Even the griffins of the soldiers were roaring in rejoice.

It was an exquisite sight for Hoseok, the reunion reminding him of Jia. He missed her, badly.

"Kijk, iedereen!," A girl screamed from the ground, green eyes glowing with joy and finger pointing upwards, towards Hoseok. "Onze redder!"

Everyone in the crowd followed the girl's gaze, cheering once they saw Hoseok standing on the balcony. He stared, a bit stunned by the sight of all the Luchtian citizens celebrating, then the mood changed instantly when a person from the front row bowed. It was followed by another, and another, until the whole of Lucht was bowing down to him — Jung Hoseok, their king.

"They called you their savior," Hoseok would have jumped at Jungkook's voice if it wasn't for the current situation at hand. The angel was leaning on the frame of the balcony's door, smirking. "It's about time you reclaim Lucht officially, yeah?"

There were five seconds of delay until Hoseok processed what Jungkook had said. For a moment, he glanced at you, smiling when he received a thumbs up. Then, he turned around, inhaling deeply before clearing his throat loudly, making the Luchtians look up and slowly stand. He couldn't describe how nervous he was, since he was never really a fan of public speaking, but this was his moment. It was his time to shine brightly like the sun.

Before Hoseok spoke, Jungkook stepped forward and stood next to him. "I'll translate."

Hoseok nodded, realizing that the Luchtians indeed did not understand English, so Jungkook was going to translate it to Vredeian for him. Clearing his throat once more, his voice boomed. "Everyone! My name is Jung Hoseok, a citizen of Earth, unfamiliar to Vrede, yet I have been chosen to bear the air gem and rule over Lucht."

Jungkook looked at Hoseok questionably, taking a few seconds of thought before he relayed the translation to the citizens. The crowd was silent as they continued to listen.

"...I'm someone from a completely different planet, someone who can't even speak Vredeian, yet you all trusted me. The moment I landed and was presented to Markus, I was immediately dubbed as the savior, even while I was being held captive at that moment. Why? Is it because of my gem? You all believed in me, even when I didn't believe in myself."

Jungkook cracked a small smile, Hoseok returning it before the angel translated carefully and precisely.

"And for that, I thank every single one of you. Because you all believed in me, Markus has been defeated and Lucht can finally stand as its own kingdom once more!," Hoseok had to halt his speech for a while because the Luchtians cheered once Jungkook translated it. "Me and my friends, we all came to save Vrede, and having Lucht back is a step closer to our goal. I promise you all, there will be peace in this planet once more, which brings me to my final message before I leave—"

Some Luchtians groaned, not wanting Hoseok to leave but it was futile. He couldn't stay behind, all of them were needed to eventually defeat the King of Hel.

"I am aware that Lucht has a law, one law that each one of you follows whole-heartedly. Peace amongst all creatures, it is also something I believe back in Earth but not even they follow it as much as you guys do. I wish the people on Earth were peacemakers too, maybe then we wouldn't have stupid people trying to cause pointless wars," The Luchtians laughed at this and Hoseok found himself chuckling, including you and Jungkook, who took a while to translate because of his laughter. "I... have decided to implement another law, without getting rid of the original."

Hoseok paused, trying to see what the Luchtians thought of this because he himself felt like he was breaching Lucht's morals by adding a law, even when they strictly followed only one for years, maybe even centuries. However, they were willing to accept it, instead they actually seemed curious of this law. So, he continued, Jungkook urging him as well with a light nod.

"I'm not sure if Lucht or Vrede has a saying similar to this but on Earth, we say this a lot in order to reassure ourselves and our friends. Because the dawn right before the sun rises is the darkest... This quote, it gives you hope. Hope can be the spark of many things, it can be the fuel of your motivation, it can be your desire to press on despite how low of a situation you're in. Before I met my girlfriend, hope was the only thing that gave me strength during my dark times," Hoseok a few of the citizens embrace their loved ones when he mentioned the word girlfriend and smiled at the sight, knowing that Jia, if she was here, would be very proud of him at this moment. "When I lost the opportunity to continue my dancing career, hope told me that there was more to it, that it wasn't over. So, hope made me meet my girlfriend. Hope led me to Sky, Emily and the six wonders. Hope led me to Vrede and Lucht. Hope... led me to success and to me, my success is saving Lucht from the clutches of Hel while making friends along the way. Have hope. That is our newest law."

A silence, no reaction from the crowd because Jungkook hadn't finished translating, stopping halfway since he had become too absorbed in Hoseok's speech. Even you became teary-eyed at Hoseok's words and after a few seconds, Jungkook smiled brightly, showing his bunny teeth and continued, shouting the last few words of the speech to end the translation. "Heb hoop. Dat is onze nieuwste wet!"

Finally, now that the Luchtians understood, they were cheering loudly, rejoiced by the presence of their new King and his encouraging words. Hoseok watched as the citizens jumped, hugged and kissed one another. Then, they started chanting something, it wasn't his name, however, instead it was something the Luchtians came up with. It started from a small boy suggesting it, then it spread across the crowd like wildfire, soon everyone was screaming it.

"J-Hope! J-Hope! J-Hope!"

Words couldn't describe how Hoseok was touched by this. The Luchtians thought of him as hope, the embodiment of it, even changing his name to J-Hope. Somehow, the scene of a crowd before him and chanting his name reminded him of his dancing days, the nostalgia making him tear up. Eventually, the realization that he had fulfilled the job given to his ancestors so long ago, bearing the air gem and finally taking the kingdom as his own, bringing justice to the former King of Lucht, he suddenly cried. He had done it. The mission set upon his bloodline — it was done.

"You did great, Hoseok," You approached the air gem bearer — no, the King of Lucht, and pat his shoulder as he quietly sobbed into his hands. "Look at how happy they are."

Hoseok sniffled, glancing at the crowd with a genuine smile on his face. He didn't know if it was in his blood or it was because the reality of being a King just dawned onto him but he oddly felt attached to the Luchtians, just the might of them being overjoyed made him happy as well. He grabbed the railings of the balcony, the branches rough against his palms. "Can I... spend a few minutes interacting with the Luchtians? I know that we're pressed for time but I—"

"It's fine, Hoseok," With wide eyes, Hoseok turned around and met your smiling face. You were rocking on your heels, both hands clasped behind your back as you showed off a toothy grin. "You can spend a few minutes or an hour with them... but I hope you understand that we can't waste too much time—"

You were cut off by Hoseok when he embraced you in a tight hug, whispering words of gratitude in your ear. He then noticed Jungkook staring while tonguing the inside of his cheek and pulled the angel by the wing, forcing a group hug between the three. "Thank you so much guys, really, for being such good friends."

"Yeah, uh, you're welcome and all," Jungkook chuckled a bit anxiously, your face pressed onto his buff chest because of Hoseok's tight hug.

"I won't take too long, I promise," Hoseok pulled away from the hug, doing a slight bow before he sprinted and jumped off the balcony, the Luchtians staring in awe as he slowly floated down to the ground.

-

The King of Hel sat on his throne, staring at a crystal ball resting on a small table in front of him, a scowl on his face as he watched Hoseok laugh brightly, Luchtian children approaching with big grins. He tapped his fingers impatiently on the arm of his throne, absolutely disgusted by all the joy he was seeing. After a few minutes of watching Hoseok make tricks in the air as the children formed a circle around him, the King angrily hit the crystal ball and flung across the room, making it shatter as it made contact with the ground. He screamed loudly, making the general flinch at how his eyes were dark purple.

"Y-Your Highness," The General whimpered, afraid that any word he'd decide to say would trigger the King of Hel, leading to his own demise. "Lucht has—"

"Do you think I don't know that, general?!," The King of Hel seethed, stomping down his throne with pointed teeth. He grabbed the crown on his head and nearly tore off his hair with it, pointing at the now grey stone — which used to be green — with obvious frustration. "Look at this! Lucht has completely fallen off my hands!"

The general gulped, still kneeling down on both knees and facing the ground, beads of his sweat dripping to the floor. There was a moment of silence before he finally spoke. "Your Highness, Markus has been wiped out and I have information that the wonders have the highest possibility of heading to the kingdom of Aarde next because it is the nearest to Lucht. What should we do?"

Thinking, the King of Hel went silent for a while, tapping the base of his crown. He glanced at the brown stone, determined not to let another kingdom slip away from him, especially after he had worked so hard to claim all five of them. "Send Shay."

Instead of replying, the general looked at the King of Hel blankly.

"Did you not hear me, general?!," The King of Hel shouted, purple mist appearing around his arms.

"Your Highness, you must understand!," The general gathered all of his courage and stood up, shooting daggers towards the King of Hel with his dark eyes. His teeth were clenched, hands balled into fists. "Shay has just recovered from severe injuries and you want to send her alone?! She's— Do you have no mercy on your own daughter?!"

"Do you think that matters to me?!," The King of Hel screamed, purple mist almost taking up the whole throne room. The general's eyes widened as he stepped back, legs almost giving away due to the terrifying sight of the King in full anger mode. "Hel's law is to have no mercy, did you forget, general?! Taehyung, a son who rebelled against my beliefs and Shay, a daughter who can't even follow simple instructions... do you think I actually care now, huh?! What have I done for Macht to give me such dishonourable children?! Send Shay alone, she must return with the blood of at least one of the wonders in her hands. Taehyung will go against her himself, that's a fact, but she will not be bothered by it... and make sure to tell her this. If she fails, I'll kill her myself."
