"Move"

Nabi said looking straight into Leo's eyes.

Leo stood still infront of the throne with his sword.

"The throne is mine to protect",Leo said.

"And the throne is mine to claim",Nabi said.

The two faced each other without backing away. To Leo,the throne represents his people and Kingdom. He was born to bear the responsibilities of this throne. Though he is in love with the woman who is destroying his everything,he couldn't run away from his responsibility as the next King to the throne.

"If you want to claim it,then you will have to kill me",Leo raised his sword pointing it at Nabi.

Nabi was calm as she watched the blonde crown prince. "It doesn't have to be this way. Back out Leo. And I will spare your life"

Behind Leo,Ethan Black appeared with an army of knights. Nabi recognised few more familiar faces too. Isabella,a knight she met at the winter camp many years ago. Isabella and Ethan,two knights she respected.

"Sorry,I'm going to protect my throne until the end of my life",Leo firmly stated.

Nabi stared at him blankly. She knew that he must know by now what happened to Eva. Their god Lucian is no more. The priests must have already gotten the wind about it. Then it must mean only one thing. Their Saintess also did not survive.

The masked pain in Leo's eyes,she could see it. The betrayal,hurt,sorrow,agony,loss of a friend.....yet he stood his ground shouldering all the responsibilities.

But strangely,Nabi didn't feel sad. She had lost all her emotions along the way. Only one thing she saw,the ending she desires. She must see the ending she wants. She couldn't bring herself to do it for nine life times,and she refuses to fail again. She will do anything for that.

"Move. Or I shall have your head",Nabi threatened again. And it wasn't an empty threat.

She remembered her promise to her sister Hazel to not kill him but she didn't mind betraying her too. At this moment,she has lost her mind too. She had no space in her heart for anyone else. Yet she found it hard to hurt Hazel. Maybe she doesn't love her as a sister but she couldn't afford to see her getting hurt any more. And that's the only reason she is still willing to give Leo a chance to live.

"My lady,let me cut that head for you?",Orpheus requested.

Nabi signalled him to stop with her hand without taking her eyes away from Leo.

"The only way you can take this throne is beheading me",Leo was firm and stern with his back straight and head high.

Nabi smiled,"You think I can't take away the throne without beheading you? Sorry but if I want throne with you alive,then I can make it"

"Try me",Leo glared at her. "You think your family would be safe by doing this? No. If the kingdom is fallen to ruins,they would suffer in a horrible way for not protecting us. That's the curse. Even you can't escape the curse. You might have killed Lucian but the curse will never disappear. You are torturing yourself and your family"

Nabi chuckled feeling an empty humour in his words. Her eyes shone in amusement,"You misunderstood something Leo. The curse is not what you think.....The curse is these people. Our curse....is this kingdom and people. Did you forget? You all wanted to kick out Pendragons from the kingdom. And you did. Since it was people's decision,Pendragons shouldn't be affected by the curse"

Nabi deliberately hid some facts. Her words were true but there was something she hid too. The curse will not be activated for a long time but it will surely affect them in the future. Her family will have to come back to save the kingdom. But the kingdom doesn't need to know it.

Leo widened his eyes as if he slowly realised something. He tried to connect some dots in his head but something didn't make sense to him. "Did you do that on purpose? You made us kick you guys out ? Am I getting to the right point?"

Nabi slowly smirked when he hit the right nail.

Leo shook his head,"No. How could it be? It's impossible"

"Leo,you got it right. I did it. From the beginning till now,I played this game. I played you all. And you played just the way I wanted. If I wanted someone to bark at a time,he barked at the perfect time. You all were just like pawns in my chess game board. Including my own family"

Leo and Ethan had incredulous looks as they stared at Nabi. They couldn't understand what she was saying at all.

Nabi,"Let me show you"

Nabi raised his palm and suddenly,a familiar looking mask solidified on her palm. With other hand,she removed the mask on her face revealing her burnt face.

Leo was horrified seeing her hideous face. But he didn't have time to dwell on it when Nabi put on the other mask.

"Greetings your highness"

When Nabi greeted Leo,her voice had a change of tone. A deep male voice. And Leo would never mistake that voice!! He knew him!

"Em -Emerald!",Leo staggered as he watched in horror.

Emerald,the leader of the anti Pendragon organisation. It was Nabi?!

Nabi laughed in her male voice as she completely turned her body into a male body. "Hah! How does it feel Leo? Do you understand now? I placed my pawns at the right place this way. I have many more masks. I wore them every day to achieve what I want"

Leo stumbled back but Ethan held him firmly. "N -No! This can't be!"

"I've come to you in many forms",Nabi said as she removed the mask. She was a man when she removed the mask.

(Orpheus secretly thought he would swing both ways if she happened to be a man. He didn't mind fucking a man if he is Nabi.)

But her male form didn't last long when she transformed back to her female form. She wore her previous mask again.

The betrayal Leo felt was beyond any pain he had ever felt.

Nabi was the leader of the anti Pendragon organisation. She made people believe in lies and made everyone kick out Pendragons. She made the kingdom defenceless. A kingdom without its guardians is nothing but an offering to the devil.

Not long ago,King had died but he kept it a secret from everyone to not let them lose their motivation but now everything was piling up in his head. He couldn't bear this anymore.

He didn't know who to trust anymore. His most trusted men betrayed him. His crush became his enemy. His best friend,the Saintess died. The kingdom was in ruins. People are dying. He lost his father. And now he got to know that he had been playing into his enemy's cards.

Would someone stab him in the back if he didn't look back right now?

"Your highness! Take a hold of yourself!",Ethan yelled but Leo was in turmoil. He couldn't bring himself keep going anymore.

Ethan,"Keep the crown prince safe!"

Just then the door to the throne room was burst opened. Julia Smith was there with a group of devils.

It wasn't something Nabi planned. She didn't plan to have Julia fight against Ethan right now. But she had to be the unfortunate person to come in the wrong time.

But it didn't look like Julia regretted coming in.

Ethan widened his eyes seeing who just barged in. And another realisation hit him. He has to fight her. The last time they met, Julia said they would be fighting against each other in the battlefield. A fight in the battlefield means one thing. One must die.

Nabi was also getting exhausted. The curse is acting up in her body since she was ruining the kingdom by her own hands. She could literally feel her body burning under her clothes. She suddenly clutched her stomach in pain but didn't let anyone see it.

But Orpheus,who only had eyes for her,noticed the slight difference. He held her by her waist and slowly made his way towards her stomach caressing it.

Orpheus couldn't let her overwork at in this state. Right now,only he knew what a delicate state she was in. His eyes turned cold in an instant as he snapped his eyes towards Julia. "I want them all dead"

Julia bowed her head as she received the command. She unsheathed her sword and looked at Ethan.

Isabella,who was beside the bewildered Ethan,had to take the matters to her hand. She was not affected by anything at all. Falling down kingdom,she saw it as a natural phenomenon. Every kingdom has to go through such a situation after all. But she had never heard of a clash between a kingdom and hell. Anyways,she took it well without much thought. Since she was a knight,she decided to do her duty until the end of her life. She wouldn't even complain if she dies tonight. That would an honorable death to her. For someone like her,she had no regrets in life. She didn't even hate Nabi. She believed everything had a reason.

Taking out her sword,she yelled,"Protect the crown prince!"

Isabella walked infront of Ethan and faced Julia,"Ethan,if you can't face her,I will face her. Get a hold of yourself and do your duty right now"

Ethan suddenly calmed down. His bewildered shocked face turned into a completely calm and collected face. He took a large gulp of oxygen before heaving out. "No. I will face her. I am fine"

Isabella was a bit worried but figured that it was better. Ethan had no choice but to face this situation. "Alright"

And in the next moment,Julia made a run towards the center of the throne room while Ethan also initiated the fight from his side first.

The blades of the lovers clashed brutally as their bodies came to a halt,facing each other. They stared at each other with gritted teeth. The blades were still against each other as their eyes sang a song of sad love story of these two broken lovers.
