Jungkook stared at the calming ocean as he was sitting on the beach sand ground with his knees pressed to his chest. His wavy black hair was fluttering with the wind as if the wind was trying to give some comfort to his confused yet distressed mind. He watched birds flying across the sea and tried so hard to forget about Hazel's question for him and the hurt expression he received from her.

He skipped breakfast and lunch to avoid Hazel feeling scared to see her disappointed expression.

"And here you are,you've been here all this time?"

Seokjin's voice reached his ear but he didn't tire himself to look at him. He felt his brother taking a seat next to him when Jungkook didn't say anything.

"Something is bothering you,right?",....."Is it about yesterday?"

Jungkook looked away not saying anything. This one action was enough to answer Seokjin's question. Seokjin stared at his younger brother for a moment and stayed until Jungkook says something. Anything is fine. Because he needed to figure out what was going on Jungkook's mind.

"Brother",Jungkook mumbled,still not looking at Seokjin.

Seokjin,"Yeah"

Jungkook hesitated for a long time nibbling on his bottom lip but somehow gathered courage to ask,"Why am I unable to love?"

This question threw Seokjin out of the space. He never imagined Jungkook would ask such a question. Unable to love?

"Jungkook,why are you asking such a question? Unable to love? "

This time,Jungkook looked at him and his expression made him flinch in shock. His little brother looked like he was hurt so badly that he needed a desperate escape routine.

"Why am I not a human? Brother,why am I a monster who can't love? "

Seokjin was freaking out from his mind but he needed to stay calm. Jungkook needs him right now. For whatever screwed up reason,Jungkook is having a mental breakdown.

"Jungkook,you need to explain me,please tell me. What's wrong? Who said you're a monster who can't love? Who said you're not human?",He asked as he cautiously held his brother's stiff shoulders. Jungkook had never cared if anyone called him a monster or anything. Infact he found pleasure being the monster they described. Then why now?

Jungkook looked down as he stayed in a kneeling position infront of Seokjin,"Do you remember the teacher who was appointed as my sword master back then?"

Seokjin,"Yes. What about him?"

Flashback

Five years old little Jungkook stared wide eyed at his new teacher. The man was crouching infront of him as he was telling some unbearably harsh words to the little one.

The room was silent except those heartbreaking words since no one was there to keep Jungkook's ears covered. He was alone there with his teacher who came to his house as his sword teacher.

"The first thing you need to learn is that you're the ugly monster in this house who killed his own mother",The man uttered the poisonous words with one intention and that is to hurt the little kid.

"I –I didn't kill mom",The child whimpered with a breaking voice.

"Yes you did. You need to know it. You're a murderer who killed his own mother. You are not a human Jungkook. No one can love an animal like you. No one in this family is able to love you and neither could you love someone"

Big crimson eyes filled with tears listened his teacher's words. He couldn't even speak because of the shock. His words were stuck in his throat never leaving out of his lips. He wanted to deny it but couldn't.

"Your father? He doesn't look at you,right? And your brothers? They are only hanging around you because of the Pendragon blood in you. You are only connected to them because of that blood in your body. They cannot abandon you because of that blood in your body"

Jungkook was trembling in his feet with the shock. He was too little to bear such a massive burdensome words.

"Remember,if you love someone,then that person will die just like your mother. That's your curse. Bear that and engrave my words in your mind forever"

The teacher's eyes were filled with hatred he doesn't understand. The disgust was clear in those eyes.

"If you weren't born,then that woman,the person I loved,would have been alive! This is the punishment I'm giving you Jungkook Pendragon..."

That day,Jungkook was shattered to pieces and he could never found himself again.

If you say something to a kid,it will forever be imprinted on his head and will hunt him down from shadows every day. And that's why adults should mind their words infront of their children. Even if they grew up,the impact of those wouldn't leave them that easily. 

When Jungkook said the story,his eyes were filled with the tears he wanted to spill since that day. He clutched onto his chest as he stared at Seokjin in desperation. Bloodshot eyes screamed 'help'. He needed someone to save him from that terrible nightmare.

Seokjin's expression was terrifying. He stared at his little brother with wide eyes. His neck was getting red from the rage he was feeling. Veins after veins popped out from his neck and forehead when he realised what his brother had gone through.

"Why am I not a human? I...I want to love too",he cried lowering his head. Jungkook didn't care if he had love or not but for his little sister,he wanted to break the shell he was locked in. He wanted to be grateful for Hazel,for playing with a monster like him. He wanted to give her love she deserves. But he can't. He is unable to love.

Seokjin placed his hand on his shoulder and said calmly, "You are human Jungkook. And you can love"

Jungkook shook his head vigorously not being able to believe Seokjin. It's not easy to remove his own beliefs of years just because of few words from his brothers now.

Seokjin felt his eyes sting seeing this broken figure of his brother. "It's my fault. I should have paid more attention to you. I shouldn't have been too busy with my useless responsibilities as the heir. Nothing is important than you guys to me"

Jungkook still didn't look up. He didn't want to comfort Seokjin because what Seokjin saying was true. Why didn't anyone pay him attention when he needed it. His loneliness only lead him to believe those harsh words of his teacher.

"Jungkook,believe me. You're not an animal. You're a human. You're capable of loving. I can see it"

Jungkook,"Lies. Don't lie to me!"

Seokjin pulled Jungkook to a hug and stroked his head,"Alright,then don't believe me.....but you can believe in yourself",...."you always make sure we all are safe and check the security of the house every day. Isn't it because of love? You scold Jimin when he overdo his training,isn't it because of love? You help Namjoon with his battles even when he didn't ask you to,isn't it because you're scared for his safety?......if these things don't count,then what about Hazel? It's easy for you to express your emotions when it comes to her. The first priority is her safety,right? She comes above everything and nothing matters than her happiness right?"

Jungkook slowly nodded as he listened to him.

"You want Hazel to stay as a kid every day so she will not get married and will stay with us forever. You want to see her as a kid so you could call her 'fluffball' every day"

Seokjin smiled softly,"I know it's hard to change your mind this easily but take your time. And think about it. No one is going to leave you so don't rush things. We are all here for you Jungkook. We all love you and we know you love us"

Jungkook slowly parted away from the warm hug and reluctantly nodded with slightly bloodshot eyes. ".....but Hazel must be upset with me. Where is she?"

Just as in cue,Hazel's voice reached them from far away.

"Hey you two!!! I brought sandwiches!!",Hazel was running towards them with a picnic basket. Her hair and gown flattered with the sea wind as she kept running towards them.

Jungkook and Seokjin stood up and waited for her. When she approached them with a wide grin,Jungkook couldn't help but to let out a warm smile.

Hazel paused seeing tears in Jungkook's eyes. Seokjin and Jungkook panicked a little not knowing how to explain or lie to her but to their surprise,she acted as if she didn't see anything and smiled.

"I brought the kitchen from grandpa and made some sandwiches! Here! I even brought a picnic blanket! Come on! Help me to arrange this"

Seokjin and Jungkook looked at each other before chuckling and helped Hazel to arrange the little picnic. The three siblings sat on the blanket with sandwiches in their hands as they gazed at the sea. Neither Hazel or her brothers spoke a word about Jungkook's tears but the silence among them wasn't uncomfortable.

Hazel stood up abruptly dusting her gown and looked at her brothers before grinning widely. "Why don't you try to catch me? You know,I've grown strong after the camp. Wanna see?"

Jungkook,"Oh yeah? Let me see then. Don't let me catch you fluffball. Because once I catch you,you will be on the sea!"

Hazel laughed as she started running away from her brothers and the two brothers didn't waste a second before chasing after her. They ran with the wind and laughed under the sun. The sound or their laughter was comforting to each other as if telling them that they will be there for each other no matter what.

Jungkook decided to try his best to accept his new beliefs and comfort. He will be able to say he loves his sister one day. Not only her but also her brothers too.

Jungkook was the first one to catch Hazel and he picked her up before spinning her around. She laughed loudly and it was like music to the two brothers. Jungkook threw Hazel over to Seokjin who caught her perfectly and he ran towards the sea with Hazel in his arms. Jungkook also followed them to the sea.

The sun was slowly setting down from the west when they were done playing in the sea. They sat on the blanket drenched in sea water,watching the distant sun set. The whole sky was orange and glowing. So beautiful.

"Let's come back again",Seokjin said with a smile. "With others"

Jungkook,"Mmm,they will love it"

Hazel hummed in satisfaction. "I wish they were here today"

"Tomorrow,I'm heading home. You two take your time to come back",Seokjin announced suddenly taking the other two by surprise.

Hazel,"Why?!"

Seokjin smiled and caressed her hair before looking at Jungkook. "I'm paying a visit to Jungkook's teacher. Do you have any last words for him Jungkook?"

Jungkook's shocked face turned into a bright smiley face and uttered the thing he always wanted to tell him,

"Fuck you bitch"
