|Ch.45

To become evil,does someone need to go through a hell? Yes and no. The law applies differently to different people. Darkness can be adopted if you're willing to embrace it. Insanity can be a choice to someone. Would you like to be insane? If the answer is yes, then what can anyone do? Sins will not be forgiven and yet you still wanna go on?

Hazel's crimson eyes stared at blood in her hands. Moon light fell into her face illuminating something eerie in her eyes. Her eyes slightly glanced over the deer she caught. It was too late to hunt yet here she is. Her blood lust was getting the best of her.

Luca was behind her leaning against a tree while Ruby was standing next to him with a slight worried expression on her face.

"I thought you were sleeping walking. So it is like this. Can't control the blood lust yet?",Luca asked.

Hazel wasn't surprised to see him and Ruby since she knew that they'd feel the moment she left the cottage.

"I got a nightmare. I just needed a little violence to calm down",Hazel's voice was cold and chilly like all the emotions had been sucked out.

Luca was cautious to not provoke her not wanting her to snap. "You could have called me. You think I'd back out if you ask for a duel?"

Hazel chuckled,"I can't bleed you to death Luca"

Luca,"As if you could. But stop going around like this without saying anything"

Ruby,"He is right. Don't go on your own.If it is hard to control,let young masters know"

Hazel didn't say anything. She wouldn't bring them with her if she lusts for blood,she didn't want to hurt them. "Don't worry. I'm in control. I won't snap again. But the nightmare made me hungry"

Luca,"What did you see?"

Hazel stayed silent for few seconds with stiff shoulders. She gulped hard and heaved a shaky breath,"A ruined kingdom with death bodies all over. Everyone was dead. There is....someone and that someone .....said he is going to destroy everything"

Ruby,"Who is 'he' ?"

Hazel,"Don't know. I don't even know if it was a 'he' or 'she'. I wanted to kill that person"

Luca sighed. If it was other time,he'd have laughed it out and teased her but looking at Hazel's terrified pale figure,he couldn't. "It's just a dream. Nothing will happen. We are training as knights,aren't we? It's our responsibility to protect this kingdom. And we will do it. Now come on. Let's head back"

Hazel looked back and smiled,"Yeah....you're right. I was paranoid"

Luca turned back and walked ahead with a frown. It was obvious how uneasy Hazel and he felt something is off with her. After Hazel went missing for a day with Dylan only to come back all soaked and wet,she had a slight change in her eyes as if she saw something beyond their eyes. He was worried thinking about it but couldn't really confront Hazel. And he could say Ruby also felt it seeing how she was being extra careful around Hazel.

Luca halted on the way signalling other two to stop too. Someone was near by and the trio got alerted. Pulling out the sword,Luca took a step forward and with steady steps,he followed the hushed voices. He pointed at a bush and looked at Hazel. Someone is in the other side.

Before they could make a move,someone from the bush came out with a sword and made a clash with Luca's sword.

"Wait! Luca! It's a trainee!",Hazel shouted immediately and pulled Luca back.

"Woah woah! Luca? Lady Hazel and Ruby?",It was a boy from their camp. "What are you three doing here?"

Hazel only remembered his first name as Harry. He is a mischievous boy with a bright personality. She remembered him because he always comes to gamble with Ruby.

"Uh night hunting?",Hazel answered awkwardly because she was covered in blood.

Harry smiled widely,"Then good timing! Where is the meat?"

Hazel totally forgot the deer she killed. She was lost at words but Ruby saved her.

"Before that,what are you doing here?"

Harry turned around and pushed the bush away revealing two more trainees. A girl and a boy with two alcohol bottles.

"Lady Hazel?",It was Isabella Bluebell as Hazel remembered.

The other boy was a sharp green eyed cold looking boy. Hazel didn't know him at all.

Harry,"We are having a night toast. It's the last day of the camp, so we thought to have this secret toast between us"

Luca raised an eyebrow and scoffed,"What the hell,where did you even find those bottles?"

Isabella,"Harry and Franz stole them from seniors"

"Aren't you all underage? Is it okay to drink?",Hazel asked feeling ridiculous.

Harry,"Oh don't be like that! You gotta be rebellious at this age. Plus,your knight here is a famous heavy drinker who could handle few bottles",he said pointing at Luca who was already avoiding eye contact with Hazel. "Luca,don't tell me you're acting the goodie two shoes. You're the scoundrel of the Kingdom after all"

"Oi Oi! Shut your fucking mouth. That was only one time and it was all because of your fucking dare back then at the camp!!! Now I remember,I swore to beat the shit out of you,right? Come here bastard!",Luca rolled his sleeves and signalled Harry to come forward.

Harry backed away hiding behind the boy named Franz. "Don't you know the fun of doing mischief!! Hey! Don't be a party pooper!!"

Franz,"You decided to provoke the mad dog,don't hide now"

Isabella sighed,"Stop it everyone. Lady Hazel,wanna join us?"

Hazel eyes shone in excitement. She is hella ready for mischief. "Yes!"

Ruby,"my lady,no"

Luca,"Yes,you're not fucking drinking!"

Isabella pulled Hazel and circled her arm around her neck and winked at both Ruby and Luca,"I'm stealing your lady now. Feel free to join us"

Luca,"No means no!! Shit babe! Come here! We are leaving!"

Hazel stuck out her tongue and stayed hidden behind Isabella. And at the end,Luca and Ruby also decided to stay not succeeding to convince Hazel. Luca also went back to bring the deer Hazel killed and they roasted it and ate with the alcohol. A fire was burning to keep them warm as the six kids teenagers were surrounding it while talking nonsense.

"So,you're baby sitting these two boys?",Hazel asked with an amused smile.

Isabella nodded,"Yes. If I wasn't here,these two would have killed each other. They can't get along if there isn't anyone to look after them. Such troublemakers"

Harry,"Hey! Don't make us the bad guys!"

Franz slapped away Harry's hand from shoulder and looked at Hazel,"I never thought you'd drink with us. I thought you're a mean girl who looked down on us weaklings"

"Mean girl? What do you mean?! I never did anything to you guys!",Hazel was shocked to hear such a thing.

Harry scratched his neck nervously,"Well,you're from the Pendragons,..so we naturally thought you don't want anything to do with us. And you even don't like Eva who is so kind to everyone"

Now Hazel got it,they were intimidated by her family name. So they blindy thought she didn't like it when other people tried to get closer to her like Eva. "It's true that I don't like Eva. It's not because she is from a low family or anything. It's just I simply don't like her. Tell me,don't you have people you don't like? Eva is kind,that's right but I have my personal reasons for that"

Isabella,"I get it"

Harry,"Sorry, we assumed some nonsense without thinking"

Franz nodded agreeing with his two friends.

Hazel smiled accepting their apologies. When everyone went back to their normal conversation,Hazel's eyes glowed a bit but it wasn't noticeable. She had a slight smile on her face as she looked up.

Luca stood up abruptly,"We need to go now. You all fuckers go to your cottages too. Shit babe,come on let's go",he pulled Hazel by her wrist and forcefully made her stand up against her will.

Hazel,"why~"

Luca didn't say and just sighed as he pulled her hand over his neck and supported her body. She staggered as Luca started walking with her and that's how she understood that she is a bit drunk.

Ruby also followed them silently. She could see that Luca is concerned over something but he isn't saying anything.

"Hazel",Luca called and it surprised Hazel became he rarely calls her by the real name. Maybe he never called her by her name? She doesn't remember a day he called her real name. "If you're worrying about anything,just say so"

Hazel widened her eyes as she stared at him. Did he really say that? The heartless Luca?

Luca didn't look at her as he continued,"I could see you know. You're a uneasy about something. I'm your knight for a reason"

Ruby,"He is right my lady. Is there anything we could do?"

Surprising both Luca and Ruby,Hazel circled her arms around their necks pulling them to her and smiled,"Woah,when did my cold hearted duo become so warm hearted?"

Luca,"Hazel! Be serious!"

Hazel hummed softly closing her eyes,"I'm serious. And I'm fine. Just stay with me alright?"

Luca,"Cheesy. Let go"

Hazel,"No"

The Winter camp came to an end. Hazel looked back at the village as she was riding the horse back to her home.

"How was it? Did you like the camp?",Hoseok asked riding his horse next to her.

Hazel looked at him and nodded,"Yeah. A lot"

"Then I'm glad. Let's go back home now"

Hazle hummed slightly,"Yeah. Home. I want to go home"
