The top number three knight, Ethan Black,one of the members of richest Dukedoms. His jet black hair and huge physique was the art of men. Cool headed and hot blooded young man of the hearts of women. They say he is colder than the winter mountains and hotter than the hell fire. It was still a mystery how he is number three and not one. But it is an open secret to everyone that he is working hard to beat Logan the top knight. And his mentor from the Pendragon family was no different than him,the cold blooded Yoongi Pendragon. Yoongi himself chose Ethan as his disciple after seeing his performance as a trainee knight two years ago.

Ethan watched the younger trainees going inside the hunting forest after the first camp activity. They still have to provide their own food. He walked towards a river area and sat under a tree,closing his eyes.

"Hey!where were you?! I've been —oh you were sleeping?", It was Julia Smith,one of the top ten knights. This girl had been clinging onto him ever since they met at a family gathering three years ago. He really hated having her near him. The silence he craves will vanish as soon as she pops up.

"Tsk,what do you want?", He asked in an annoyed tone.

Julia smiled widely, "Sorry,didn't want to disturb you but you gotta have your dinner. And don't stay here too long,it's going to be dark soon"

"I'm not hungry. Go away", Ethan closed his eyes again.

Julia pouted,"Oh come on! You will fall a sick if you keep skipping meals!Look! I hunted a reindeer! I can cook it well for you!"

Ethan sighed opening his eyes again,"You know,you don't have to do those things. Stop trying to take care of me"

Julia's face dropped slightly, "B –But I'm your friend"

Ethan,"Don't act like my friend when you have other ulterior motives"

"But I'm not acting Ethan. I really do like you!"

Ethan stood up startling Julia. He had an unreadable expression on his face as he looked down at her with his frosty face. It was as he is despising her too much to the point he'd rather die than being her friend. He turned around leaving her alone.

Ethan slightly looked back to see Julia sitting on the ground with a sad look. She looks like she is about to cry but he knew she wouldn't actually cry. He heaved a tired sigh stroking his forehead and turned around walking back to Julia. He extended his hand,"Get up. I'm hungry,let's go"

Julia's face lit up immediately. Her whole face brightened as a sunshine. Without thinking twice,she took his hand and stood up, almost stumbling on Ethan but he managed to steady her down. Ethan turned around and walked silently with his cold rigid face while Julia followed him with a bright smile. She knows that he is not a bad person as he shows to everyone.

On their way,they saw two trainees bickering whether to hunt a deer or a rabbit.

"Aren't they lady Hazel and young lord Luca?", Julia asked tilting her head. "I heard they are always bickering, do you think they are going to be fine?"

Ethan stared at them,"...They'll be fine"

"It looks like they might kill each other at any point"

Behind Luca and Hazel,Ruby appeared with three dead wild chickens in her hands. She threw the chickens at the bickering duo with a bored face.

"Hahaha,aren't they a bit like a comedy trio?", Julia commented seeing the embarrassed looks of Hazel and Luca seeing their dinner caught by the maid. "They suppose to hunt but their maid was the one to feed them atlast"

Ethan gave a look to Julia,he didn't comment on that. When they were trainees,she always hunted first and gave the food to him. It's not like anything has changed since then,she still goes around hunting for him even though he does not like it.

"What do you think about them Ethan?"

Ethan,"What is there to think? They're a bunch of foolish kids"

Julia,"I don't think so....Lady Hazel seems to be a lot mature"

Ethan turned around to leave,"It's not my business"

Julia immediately caught up with Ethan and tried to cling onto his arm but he didn't let her. He kept pushing her away which only fueled Julia's laughter.

Hazel and Luca grabbed the dead chickens and silently followed Ruby with embarrassed faces. "I can't believe I couldn't even kill a single prey thanks to this little bitch "

Luca,"HAAH?!!GOD DAMN BITCH! YOU ARE THE ONE —"

Both Luca and Hazel received smacks on their heads by Ruby. "Can you guys keep it down? I don't get paid enough for this shit,I'm not cooking today for your information"

Hazel widened her eyes,"Why not?!"

"I hunted the chickens for you,so that will be enough work for the payment I receive"

Luca,"She is fucking expensive!"

Ruby,"I am. Now if you two don't mind,I'll be off"

Luca,"Where the heck is she going now?!"

Hazel sighed,"Probably to gamble with knights. She is a professional gambler"

"No fucking way!"

"Shut it. We need to cook these things", Hazel said and started walking towards the village. Both of them walked silently for few minutes but Luca again disturbed the silence.

"Hey,did you hear about the anti Pendragon organisation? My father said there is a talk like that going on in the black market"

Hazel's ears perked up hearing his words and focused on him. "Anti Pendragon organisation?"

"Yes,some motherfuckers are gathering people who are against Pendragons secretly. My old man said they might be the people behind that fucking hell door opening"

Hazel raised an eyebrow trying to connect the dots with the story informations in her head. She had totally forgot about that organisation because of Eva and Leo. Their appearance blinded her and forgot the hidden details in the story. For real,she does not even remember half of the story plot now.

"But I doubt they are behind it. I mean,doing such a risky thing,it only opened a way to praise Pendragon work,basically your family is protecting this kingdom. The incident only made everyone realise that Pendragons are still needed"

Hazel kept staring at Luca as he was speaking seriously for the very first time without using a curse word. It seems like Luca doesn't himself realise this as well. But what Luca said made sense. "You are right, but we can't be sure. If Pendragons failed to protect the civilians that day,then things would have been bad for Pendragon family. Wouldn't it reduce the value of my family?"

Luca heaved a big sigh knowing their future is not that beautiful. Though he hates Pendragon family, he is a part of it in one way or another.

Hazel,"You are awfully calm now. It's creepy"

"Shut the fuck up bitch! I'll shove this chicken in your ass!"

"Bleh!", Hazel stuck out her tongue. She laughed seeing Luca's annoyed face and looked ahead only to see Jaykar collecting wild fruits. "Oh dear,he is not hunting"

Luca looked at him,"What do you expect from a useless knight? He can't even fight"

"Don't be rude!"

"I'm not rude bitch! That's the fucking truth! He does not want to be a knight!"

Because of Luca's loud voice,Jaykar turned around and looked at them with big innocent eyes. He flinched badly seeing the two pairs of crimson eyes. Specifically the aggressive eyes which were grilling holes on his scull.

Hazel smacked Luca on the head,"Stop glaring! He is scared!"

"Stop hitting me bitch!"

Hazel ignored him and waved at Jaykar, "Hello Jaykar! We have extra chickens! Would you like to join us for dinner?!"

Jaykar warily looked at Luca only to get ignored by him. He again looked at Hazel and nodded meekly. He walked closer to them and bowed,"Thank you lady Pendragon. A –And I'm sorry for not recognising you the other day"

Hazel,"Ho ho, no problem cutie. Let's go"

"C –Cutie!", Jaykar went red from embarrassment.

Hazel suddenly looked at Luca with a glare,"Oi,little bitch,don't you dare bully him"

"Fuck you bitch!"

Jaykar felt small between the two red eyed people. He giggled secretly seeing how Hazel effortlessly angered Luca without any fear.

"After dinner,I'm going to train. So you better take care of our guest!", Hazel said as they entered their little house.

"Why should I?! I'm going to train too!"

"Oh come on!"

"N –No it's okay,I –I'm going to train too so you guys...uhm it's okay", It seems like Jaykar lost his vocabulary with the anxiety.

Luca groaned muttering some curses. The dinner was cooked by both Hazel and Luca since Ruby had abandoned them. The meal wasn't that good but they enjoyed it. Hazel was feeling giddy with Jaykar around and treated him as a kid. The cuteness of the boy made her want to protect him. On the other hand Luca,he never stopped glaring at Jaykar making the poor thing extreme uncomfortable.

After the wholesome meal time,Hazel stepped out of the house and headed towards somewhat an empty space where she could train freely. But to her surprise, Nakamura Kazuki was there. He looked at her and bowed slightly. "Lady Pendragon"

"Lord Nakamura, you are training alone? Would you mind if I join?"

Nakamura looked at the other side as he saw another person coming towards them. "Not alone. I asked sir Logan to teach me some moves. But I don't mind having you around"

Logan walked towards them with a little wave. He wasn't alone though. Sir Noah and Eva were there too. Eva was slightly surprised seeing Hazel.

Hazel felt like disturbing their session of training. "Maybe another time. I'll head the other way —"

"Oh come on! Don't be like that my lady! Why don't you join us with the training?!", Logan exclaimed excitedly. "I was really meaning to meet you anyways! This is great!"

Hazel scratched her neck awkwardly, "Why?"

"Why you ask? Because you are my master's precious sister! Sir Hoseok speaks so highly of you! I couldn't help but to be curious! Lord heavens! You are so great! Your fighting skills are amazing you know!"

He definitely knew how to flatter someone. His sugar coated words were so good that anyone would want to stick around him. His aura,his smile and personality, everything screamed positivity.

"Brother Hoseok is your teacher?"

Logan had a proud smile,"Of course! He made this number one knight!", he pointed at himself with a puffed chest.

Crumbling Logan's pride,Noah smacked him on the head,"Enough with your nonsense. Start training already"

Logan,"Oh come on! I want to speak a little more!"

Noah,"Do you want me to punch you?"

"Alright alright! No punching alright?! You are scaring me Noah!"

It was amusing how the number one knight get so scared of Noah who wasn't even in the top three. Logan was indeed scared of Noah but to everyone's surprise, they are best friends,atleast that's how Logan was talking about their friendship. They are childhood friends and it was no secret. And the surprising rumours about this duo does not stop there. They say Logan had never had an official fight with Noah. So,it was still a mystery to everyone who is strong between them. Even if Noah agreed to fight,Logan never agreed. He kept saying how he'll lose in a battle against Noah because apparently he is too scared to fight with him.

Nakamura turned to Hazel and whispered,"You better stick around Logan"

"Why?"

Nakamura looked at Logan and Noah bickering and again whispered, "He is someone who had an official win against Sir Hoseok in a battle"

Hazel almost choked on her own saliva. That silly knight could do something like that?! She could not believe it! Her eyes almost popped out from her sockets. So,this is the strength of the number one knight!

"That's why I ask him to teach me. Probably that's why Eva is here as well. And I don't think I need to tell you why you should be here"

Of course, Hazel needn't to tell it.
