Chapter 2: Powers?

Katelyn

Without a moment of hesistation, I slammed the snooze button on my alarm clock, glaring at it before getting up.

Walking over to my closet, putting on an outfit for the day before styling my hair into a french braid.

Slipping on my black ankle boots, I looked around the room trying to spot a certain pink haired female but she wasn't here.

I sighed and walked over to Vanessa's room, which was right next to ours.

I knocked on the door, only to be greeted by Melissa.

"Well, at least, I know where you are!" I exclaimed as Melissa lead me inside.

"Are you feeling better?" I asked her as we walked through the hallway.

"Yep!" She replied cheerfully.

I narrowed my eyes at her once she turned around, wondering if what she said was true, but my thoughts were soon interrupted as Vanessa emerged from her room.

"Wanna go to the park or something?" She asked, smiling at us both.

"It is a nice day!"

"I'd love too!"

"Great! Let's go!"

We walked out Vanessa's room and down the bleak corridor. It was completely devoid of students at this time, which was strange since we didn't have class today. I would of imagined that there would have been people eager to get off campus.

An idea popped into my head as a grin spread onto my lips. "Let's have a race."

"What?" Vanessa gave me an incredulous look whilst Melissa returned my grin.

"Whoever loses has to by us all lunch."

"Fine." Vanessa huffed as my grin widened. I knew that V could never resist free food.

We all got into our starting positions, poised as Melissa counted us down.

"2"

"1!"

We raced down the hallway, laughing like maniacs before I bumped into someone.

I looked up only to be met by a pair of stunning blue eyes. My own grey eyes narrowed as I recognised who was standing infront of me.

Nathan Goldenheart, Melissa's older brother, he is well known to be the biggest player on campus and has been since high school, and I just happened to bump into him.

Really? That the suckiest thing in the world.

Is suckiest even a word?

I facepalmed at my own thoughts.

Dragging my hand down my face, I glanced to the side to see both Melissa and Vanessa rolling their eyes.

Returning my gaze towards him, I had to admit that he's gorgeous. He ran his hand through his fluffy brown hair as his crystal blue eyes sparkled in the light.

"Hey babe~" He looked straight at me, smirking.

Too bad that his personality is shit.

I growled under my breath as I glared at him, "Do not call me that."

"Aww. Don't be like that Katelyn!" He replied, patting my head.

"She's not a dog, Nate." Vanessa said, helping me out as I smacked his hand away from my head.

"Okay! We need to go!" I heard Melissa say from behind me and I let out a small sigh of relief.

We all ran past Nathan, completely ignoring whatever he said next.

We finally made it to the park.

"Wow! You weren't kidding when you said it was a nice day, Mel!" I smiled, as I sat down under a tree.

I laid myself on the ground and stretched out my arms towards the sky.

Putting them down again, I brushed by a flower, and to everyone's surprise, it turned to ice. My face crumpled as I looked at the flower in fear. Reaching out towards it, I gently tapped the solid blue surface to confirm that it really was ice.

Melissa let out a surprised squeak. "Katelyn! You just used summon ice out of nowhere!" Melissa exclaimed.

"What do you mean?" Vanessa asked. "I see the ice flower. Katelyn froze it?" She looked confused as shit.

"Yeah! Couldn't you see it?" I replied.

Vanessa shook her head.
