Beyond the Scene

Special update for all my loves

These events take place from when you were roughly 6 years old until your teenage years.

———————9———————

You grinned delightedly with pride as you held your newly fallen tooth in the palm of your chubby hands.

With a thoughtful scrunch of your nose, you hold the precious tooth up in front of the light from the sun that was shining down on you and carefully observed it while walking down the streets, excited at the prospect of placing it under your pillow later.

But first, you had to actually get home.

You chuckled happily and skipped down the pavement, heading your way out of the school grounds while eyeing the treasure in glee.

You smiled cheekily. The tooth fairy was going to give you a whole bunch of coins this time for sure.

Your thoughts were solely on your tooth and because of that, you weren't paying attention to your surroundings, and as a result, you never saw the man you crashed into who had mysteriously popped out from nowhere.

"Ah!" The tooth that was just in your hand had slipped off and fallen onto the ground, bouncing a couple of times before it disappeared from your sight.

Immediately, you bent down and frantically searched for the missing item but the world was against your 9 year old self and it seemed to have vanished forever.

With your jaw dropped, you looked up in incredulity and before you could stop yourself you screamed while mustering up the nastiest scowl you could -just like the way your mom did when dad did something wrong. "Ahjussi! Look what you've done!" You placed your hand on your hip and looked him straight in the eye.

The man blinked twice as he observed the young child that was trying her hardest to look intimidating, but only succeeded in making him amused.

He looked around him but no one was around so he bent down to your eye level and chuckled softly.

"It's only a tooth" he simply said back and you gasped.

Only a tooth?

You shot him a glare and his eyes widened slightly.

"Ahjussi, do you know how much I would've gotten from the tooth fairy with that??" You asked in all seriousness and again, the man had to school his expression so that he didn't straight up laugh at how adorable you were.

He kept that up for a couple more seconds until he reached his limit, bursting out into laughter while shaking his head.

"You're a refreshing kid..." he mumbled amusedly, still with a smile on his face and you pouted, not quite understanding what he meant.

"I don't want to be refre- refer- re- ugh!...I just want my tooth back" you whined while crossing your arms with a 'hmph' and the man snorted, but then shot you a knowing grin.

He reached over behind you and rifled through the grass for a second before pausing and pulling back.

You watched, in hopes that he could do what you couldn't and your anger was forgotten the moment he gestured you to come closer with a cheeky grin.

You raised a brow but did what he said and stopped until you were right in front of him, looking at the stranger straight in the eye.

He gently grabbed your hands and dropped something in them before curing your fingers over it.

Before you could look at it, he stood, and you watched him curiously; your attention was purely on him for some reason.

He smiled once more.

"Try to watch where you're going next time brat..." he said with a lopsided smirk and you fidgeted nervously.

"...you don't want to lose something that important right?" He questioned, and somehow his words jostled something within you but you brushed it off and nodded back at him with an eye creasing smile.

"Yeah! Sorry for getting mad at you ahjussi" you laughed sheepishly. "You're like my guardian angel!" You shouted and shot him a peace sign, evoking a soft smile from him.

"...if only you knew" he whispered but then quickly bent down.

"Try not to be too greedy about that, okay?" He added on and you nodded distractedly, already more interested in the tooth back in your possession again.

You took a quick peak and lo and behold it really was the exact same one. "Thank you..." you murmured and then looked up to ask him how he was even able to find it but when you turned to him, you realized he was gone.

The stranger wasn't here anymore...

Your eyes widened in surprise and you looked around you in shock.

"Ahjussi?" You tentatively called out but there was no response so you blinked.

———————————————

Hobi watched quietly from the shadows. He knew he should've used his quirk to wipe away your memories but he wanted to rebel in the smallest way he could...

And besides, you wouldn't remember much of this day anyways.

"Stay the way you are kid...." he began, murmuring while keeping his eyes glued on his open book.

The blank space after his last victims name began glowing and Hobi gritted his teeth -it was a new target.

He glanced back to you and watched you happily skip off, making his mood brighten considerably. "...because I don't want to take your life...."

———————17———————

"What a freak..."

"Did you hear about what happened to her parents?...the accident..."

"What kind of daughter just smiles through that and..."

"Guys don't hang out with Y/N! She'll just..."

You heard the whispers but still you kept the smile plastered on your face.

Your cheeks were straining from how badly you were trying to hold the action up, but your body and mind were protesting.

You just wanted to curl up into a ball and forget that the world existed...

But you couldn't...

Instead, you would treasure everything your parents gave you and the last words they said to you before they were cruelly taken away by one car crash.

"...when you smile, mom and dad's day is always better you know? No matter how stressed we are"

So you would smile. Because although they weren't here right now, you knew they were watching over you.

Your smile widened.

...and the whispers got louder.

———————————————

You adjusted the strap of your backpack on your shoulders while you stretched. The soft and steady rhythm of your feet pattering on the ground as you walked home was cathartic and you continued bobbing your head to the music playing through your earphones.

From a distance you see a man looking around himself in a frustration, seeming a bit frazzled. Your steps slowed down once you got closer and tentatively, you removed one earbud from your ear. "Are...you okay?" You asked him hesitantly while shooting him a bright smile and he paused, looking at you owlishly.

He seemed to have registered your words however, because his back straitened up and he shot you a dazzling smile.

"Actually, no!" He chirped up cheerfully and you blinked twice, confused by his words. Was he glad that he wasn't okay? You didn't understand.

But at least he was friendly and not looking at you with disgust.

You smiled wryly to yourself. "But that is only because he hasn't heard about who I really am...the girl who doesn't care about her parent's death..."

"...I'm looking for this store" he continued, taking a step closer so that he could show you a picture of a shop. You instantly recognized the familiar store front and chuckled, snapping out of your thoughts.

"Ah...you're almost there. You just have to take a right over that street" you pointed with your finger and the man nodded vigorously while thanking you.

You shot him a smile. "What are you looking for over there?" You asked, wondering what could possibly be so urgent that it had him so agitated earlier.

He studied you carefully before smiling widely once again as he reached into his pocket and then pulled something out just as quickly.

You eyed the lollipop he was twirling around his fingers in surprise.

"Lollipops?" You snorted and the man looked extremely offended.

"Whoa whoa whoa. What do you mean 'lollipops?' This is my last one! What's with all the hate? Lollipops are the source of happiness!" He joked and you chuckled amusedly while waving him off.

"Sorry sorry, that's not what I meant" you corrected yourself and then shot him a tight lipped smile, this time making him openly frown.

"Why're you smiling when you're not happy?" He asked innocently while tilting his head to the side in confusion and your breath hitched as you tensed slightly.

"I-I am happy" you quickly shot back and he raised his brows disbelievingly but shrugged, as if he was going along with your ploy.

This made you scowl. "I-if me smiling can make someone's day better then I'll keep doing just that" You said stubbornly, your parent's face flashing distractingly in your mind.

The stranger looked at you appraisingly and then shot you an understanding smile. "Eh, alright then. I get it. My mom once told me my smile would make someone's day too" he chuckled wistfully and then all of a sudden he grinned. "Well thanks for showing me the way, darling" he saluted, and in a move you didn't see coming, he drew you into a hug.

It happened so quickly that you almost thought you imagined it, but you knew better especially with the cheeky wink he sent your way as he licked his lips and strutted off.

You stood, frozen in shock even after he disappeared around the corner and you dug your hands into your pocket to find your phone but froze.

Slowly you pulled out an extremely uncanny lollipop that was not quite there earlier.

The exact same one that was with the stranger...

But before you could read more into it, you gasped, only now noticing that the sun was going down. You cursed, snapping out of your daze and immediately took off in the direction of your house in hopes that you could make it before it got too dark.

You never thought twice about the stranger again after that.

———————————————

Tae whistled brightly after exiting the sweets shop, the soft crinkle of the candy wrapper accompanying him as he stepped out while unwrapping the treat.

He popped the candy in his mouth and really took a moment to savor the flavor before then cricking his neck, making sure he kept up his other persona now.

It was back to business for Taehyung.

His hands glowed red and he smirked devilishly with a delectable glint in his eyes, heading for his next victim.

———————5———————

"Go away kid"

"Mister your fwace is ugwy when you frown like that"

"...I'll kill this brat now before she can even begin sinning" the man muttered under his breath, wondering how bad his punishment would be for using his powers on an innocent.

You giggled and poked his leg. "What was that?"

"Nothing. Go away"

You smiled deviously -in such a way a 6 year old shouldn't have been capable of even attempting. "No" you giggled even more.

The man suppressed his groan but he eyed you with repressed curiosity from the corner of his eyes.

"Where's your mom"

You pointed to two ladies who were in the middle of their conversation a little bit further from where you were standing in the park -more specifically in front of the man sitting on the bench by his lonesome.

"She's talking with that auntwie"

"Well go back to her"

"But mom told me I can pway. And mom says if someone's sad then I should make them feel better. You're sad so I'm gwoing to make you smile!"

The man faltered, feeling uncomfortable by how intuitive this random young girl was at such a premature age.

How did he go from waiting for his target to walk by, to keeping a baby company...

His reputation would be ruined if anyone found out that the man who could strike fear in thousand men with one glare, was struggling to get a 5 year old to be scared of him.

But he sighed. The only thing he could do now was let this brat annoy him until she was satisfied.

"Grumpy ahjussi, do you like walnuts?"

Yoongi's eye twitched.

———————————————

"...and the princess died. So did the prince. And everyone else around them. The end."

Your eyes remained wide in awe after the stranger had finished his fairytale that you begged him to tell you.

The silence was uncanny.

Yoongi smirked, sure that this story would scare you off and then finally he'd be alone again.

"...that is swo cool!! So the pwincess was a hero?? I want to be wike her!"

You continued gushing about how amazingly great his story was and Yoongi could only glance at the tiny monster you were in concealed horror.

...he hoped he'd never encounter you anytime soon.

"Y/N! Where are you?" A voice called from a distance away and you perked up with a large smile and turned the other way.

"Mommy! I'm here" you screamed and soon you heard footsteps approach.

Your mothers smiling face appeared and she reached for your hand. "What were you doing?" She asked with a soft smile and you puffed your chest out excitedly while turning back to the bench.

But you faltered when you saw that it was empty.

Only one fading wisp of a dark blue smoke as proof of your previous encounter.

"...I uhm. I want to be a really cool princess mom!"

Your mom chuckled and squeezed your hand as the two of you walked out of the park.

"I'm sure you will be one day"

———————13———————

"Ouch!" You collided headfirst to what felt like a brick wall as you landed on your bum.

After rubbing the sore area, you looked up with a scowl, only to see and expressionless man stare down at you in disdain.

"Watch it kid"

Your jaw dropped from how rudely he spoke to you as he promptly turned around. But before he could run away, you huffed.

"So I guess it's a new thing for old men to assault kids in the supermarket now..." you muttered and the man stiffened.

He turned his head slightly and you smirked proudly when you saw the telltale signs of annoyance on his face.

"I'm not an old man..." he muttered and you shrugged. Of course he wasn't. He looked like he was in his mid twenties but that still didn't mean you couldn't piss him off.

He scowled, almost as if he was silently debating something with himself but then he sighed loudly before stomping in front of you while offering his hands.

You stared at it weirdly.

"Take it. And get off the damn floor"

He didn't have to tell you twice.

With a firm grip you were hoisted off the ground and you dusted your pants off as shot him a brief thankful smile.

He didn't return it.

You shook your head incredulously while shooting him a dry look. "...do you know what smiling is, old man?"

He obviously didn't because his lips turned downwards even more after that comment.

———————————————

"Why're you following me?" The man asked with, surprise, a scowl and you smiled brightly.

"I'm not" you simply answered back and he only rolled his eyes.

Your attention caught onto the one item that you had come to the supermarket for and you squealed in delight.

It was your favorite cereal.

You rushed forward and grabbed four boxes, throwing into your basket.

The mans eyes widened in surprise. "What are you doing?"

You shot him a peeved look. "What does it look like I'm doing? I'm buying cereal"

"What's that?"

You almost died from choking right then and there.

———————————————

"...So you see? You have to try this out I promise it's the best thing in the world. I'll give you my soul or something if it isn't" you said confidently while waving the box of cereal around.

The man couldn't stop the tug of his lips upwards from the irony of your words but as soon as you saw it, it vanished.

You screeched while pointing at him. "So you are capable of normal expressions!"

He scowled once more and grabbed a box from the shelf and stalked off.

You waved from behind him. "You're welcome, old man!"

———————————————

Jimin eyed the cereal in his hand with serious consideration. After contemplating, he nodded once, still with an emotionless expression and bounded for the milk aisle.

———————15———————

You sniffled and hurriedly wiped away your trail of tears as you jogged towards the public playground.

You wanted to be alone for now and oddly enough, a swing was the first thing you had thought of.

It was dark and the street lamps lit the paved sidewalk with its fluorescent glow and after a couple of minutes you had reached the playground.

You slowed your pace down and approached the swing.

It was quiet, you could only hear the irregular sounds of your breathing and the hiccups you had from crying, but you ignored it.

You sat down and swung yourself. Gradually you picked up the pace and got higher. Your hair whipped around you at every swing and you shut your eyes, enjoying how invigorating each swing felt.

"You're a bit too old for that don't you think?"

Your eyes snapped open and you see a man sitting languidly on the playground's bench as he took a puff of his cigarette.

You eyed him up and down and without missing a beat you replied. "You're not exactly the epitome of youth you know?"

The man bursted out into laughter and then threw his cigarette down to the ground.

You watched, silently, as he pulled out a lollipop. He looked up and saw your questioning look and smiled. "I'm trying to quit. My friend gave me a bunch of lolly's so I'm giving it a shot"

You nodded but you couldn't bring yourself to smile back.

"...you shouldn't run away from home you know?"

You stiffened. How did he-

"I can see it in your eyes..."

Your brows furrowed apprehensively and you stopped swinging.

"...nah I'm just messing with you. You have a huge duffle bag lying next to you, it's pretty obvious what your plans are. What kind of teenager would be at a park with a huge bag at this time of the night anyways?" He finished with a calculated raise of his brow.

You looked away stiffly and picked your bag up. "That's none of your business" you muttered and got up, intent on heading out now before this man did something to stop you.

"What if something happened to your parents because you ran away? Have you thought about that?"

You stopped.

The man smiled wryly. "I know what it's like to lose someone you love in the family. But the difference with my loss is that she didn't have a choice. You do so why would you willingly hurt your family?"

You faltered, taking in every word he said.

You gulped, feeling your throat tighten and the tears build up.

"...things do get better"

And the tears fell.

"...but not for me" he thought darkly

———————————————

You picked up your bag once more, resolved about your decision and the man smiled before waving you off.

"Thank you"

You walked off, only one place in mind now.

Home.

———————————————

Namjoon clenched the arm rest of the bench while gritting his teeth. The wounds of his past still cut deeply and he couldn't help but let his weakness show the moment he saw that young girl...the one that reminded him of his own sister...

His gold flames burned through the metal of the bench and quickly he stood.

It was time to go back...

...to his home

———————11———————

You were riding your bike and cheering rowdily because of how beautiful the day was. As you rode passed the meadow, you caught a glimpse of something and you slowed down.

You furrowed your brows in confusion. There was someone lying on the grass right in front of the river and you blinked twice.

He looked so unhappy.

———————————————

"Mister you'll catch a cold if you fall asleep here" you had your bike tucked to your side so it wouldn't fall down and after you had spoken, the man's eyes fluttered open.

"Whoa...are you a prince?" You mused in awe when you noted how similar he looked to those actors that played royalty in movies and the man smiled amusedly, but something about it felt bittersweet.

"Not anymore..."

You pouted. "...well you can be my prince!" You offered and posed stupidly, making him crack a smile.

"You're quite the joker aren't you?"

You shot him a proud look. "Jokes can change moods you know? Even if you're feeling down, I'm sure I can make you smile because the cheesier the joke, the better!"

Jin nodded in agreement. "The cheesier the better eh?..."

He thought over those words for a long time afterwards.

"...so why're you so sad?"

Jin paused, wondering if it was wise to talk to a human and one so young as well.

But evidently he knew that there was nothing about you that screamed danger.

...and if there was, he could just as easily silence you.

"...I did something horrible before and it was because I was...mean...I won't forgive myself for it..." he finally spoke and you raised your brow.

"You're a kind person though?"

He decided to go along with it because he was amused by how innocently children thought in their logic.

"Oh really now?"

You nodded vigorously. "Yeah! A mean person would have told me to leave but you let me stay and talk to you! You're a nice guy. Even if you were a bad man before, you're nice now and that's what matters right? The future, not the past!"

Jin's eyes widened in shock and before he could say anything you finished off your statement.

"...so even if you don't forgive yourself, I will"

Something tugged within him in your words and although he would never let his sin go, he would be content knowing that there was someone out there who did.

"Aw man!" You screeched, cutting his thoughts off and he watched as your bike fell on its side.

You pouted and bent down to grab it and when you got up, you shot him a mischievous look.

"...I guess my bike was just two tired" you waggled your brow stupidly.

Jin couldn't hold back his laugh even if he wanted to.

He think he found his new outlet.

———————20———————

You stood to pay your respects and bent down, lowering the bouquet of flowers on the gravestone.

After a couple of moments you straightened up and smiled softly while wiping away one stray tear.

It was the third anniversary of your parent's death today and you had come in quite early to talk to them.

You told them about your boyfriend who you were having doubts on, how you wished you were smart enough to make them proud and how envious you were that they were still together while you were here all alone.

But you knew better than to blame anyone for this so you kept the conversation lighthearted and after a couple of hours, you stood again, getting ready to make your leave.

———————————————

You hummed as you walked in the crowded area of the street; there was probably another festival going on.

There was quite the number of people and you pursed your lips annoyedly. This wasn't exactly how you wanted to end your day...

As you continued walking past people, you felt something that was off...

As inconspicuously as you could, you looked around you and then saw a man walking unhurriedly from quite the distance away.

You realized why he stood out now. Unlike everyone else, he was walking slow, as if he was in his own bubble that no one could burst. He was also staring off into the distance.

The man wasn't look anyone in the eye and that was strange. It was almost as if they were invisible to him...

Soon, he was almost near you and your heart rate quickened.

You couldn't really catch how he looked because of all the people around and yet why did he stand out amongst everyone else?

Eventually, he walked past you and the two of your shoulders brushed against each other. All of this felt like it was going in slow motion but that would be ridiculous...

Still, you turned around, hoping to steal a quick glance before he was gone but you had lost him in the sea of people...

Strange...

Pushing that to the back of your mind, you tore your gaze away from the magnetic pull coming from that direction and continued walking away.

Your phone buzzed in your pocket and you glanced down at the message from your boyfriend.

———————————————

Jungkook felt like someone was watching him in the crowd but he promptly scoffed at the idea of that ever happening.

That was beyond impossible.

He continued walking away.

———————————————

Hey loves! I know this story is complete but I want to get into a bit of your background and why you're such a crucial character in the story.

You have always been present in their lives, whether they knew it or not.

All 8 of you were drawn to each other at one point in your lives but never long enough to leave a memorable and lasting impression.

The numbers in each header represent the age you were when you met each Sin.

Of course, there is more coming ♥️

Take care of your health.

*Note*
I've been very inactive as I've been juggling my two jobs while writing on the side so I've really only been able to write almost 500 words a day 😭 once I get used to the schedule I'll continue writing frequently again!
