C. 42.
Kim Namjoon found himself in an odd position.
His eyes were set in determination as the platinum blond man twisted his blade inside the younger mob boss, his eyes shining with unyielding glee as Namjoon let out a sound of pain, more blood spurting from his open wound.
"You're stronger than I had anticipated, Kim." Yoongi tutted, pushing the blade deeper. "But, I never figured you to be weak in the first place. I wish I could take my time with killing you, but I more important things to deal with, so this will have to do-"
Yoongi let out a grunt of surprise as Namjoon's hand met his nose in a harsh contact, sending him flying away from the wounded mob boss.
Namjoon hissed out as he grabbed the blade's handle, sliding it out of his body slowly before pointing it at the man who had threatened to take everything away from him.
"You've still got fight?" Yoongi chuckled, wiping his bloodied nose. "I wonder how much longer you can stay conscious. You're loosing quite a bit of blood."
Namjoon smirked.
He just need to distract him.
"I could say the same for you, Min."
Yoongi tilted his head in interest, eyes gleaming as he shot forward, narrowly avoiding the blade as his knee shot up, slamming into Namjoon's stomach and forcing him onto his knees.
Namjoon's mouth open as he gasped in pain, arm swinging out towards the assassin.
The blade briefly met the material of Yoongi's shirt, his face falling in slight disappointment as he grabbed Namjoon's wrist, twisting it until he was forced to release the knife, the metal clinging as it landed on the floor.
Namjoon was never a skilled fighter-at least not to Yoongi's level. He had always relied on his brains and quick-thinking. He was smart enough to build up strategies and destroy people bit by bit.
However, right now, Yoongi had the upper hand and there was no strategy that could change that.
"I've wasted enough time screwing around here." Yoongi scolded, shaking his head and placing his blade at Namjoon's throat. "It's time I end this."
"Yoongi!"
No.
Namjoon's eyes snapped open at the sound of your voice, his brows furrowing together as he took in your disheveled state and heaving chest.
Why were you here? What were you thinking? You only had a few minutes before everything was blown away...only a few minutes before you would be killed and taken away again.
"Leave!" Namjoon pleaded, eyes holding a silent desperation. "Get to safety! Leave this place!"
Yoongi gripped his hair, pulling the dirty blond's head back and placing his blade against his throat.
"I knew you wouldn't miss this." He cooed at you. "I knew that you hated him just as much as I did. You want to watch him die, don't you?"
You swallowed, eyes full of worry as you stared at Namjoon.
"Yoongi.."You breathed. "Let him go, please...You don't have to do this. This isn't what you want-"
"This is exactly what I want!" He countered loudly. "I want nothing more than to watch the life leave his eyes. I want his body burned up in flames like yours was! He took you from me! He killed you! You're dead because of him!"
Your brows furrowed slightly at his words, body slowly and cautiously moving towards him.
"I-I'm not dead, Yoongi." You said gently. "He didn't kill me. I'm right here. I'm alright."
He shook his head.
"You and I were meant to be together, Y/n!" He stated. "We were always meant to die like this-holding each other. I-I know that you really want that too...He-He has broken you...He messed you up when he took you...You-You're supposed to love me!"
His tears caught you off guard, body tensing slightly as he moved the blade closer to Namjoon's throat.
"I-I do love you, Yoongi." You lied.
Both Namjoon and Yoongi stared at you with shock, their eyes wide.
You took a deep breath.
It would be better to play along than to waste time trying to get through to him.
"I love you so much." You said. "But, I don't want to die yet...If-If we die...How can we have a family? How can we live together? I want us to die one day, but-but not today. Don't you want us to have a family?"
You almost sigh as he lowered the blade slightly.
"A-A family?" He repeated silently.
You nodded, glancing towards Namjoon.
"Yes." You said, moving closer to him. "We could have as many kids as you want. I-I know you'd make such a great father, Yoongi."
His eyes filled with tears as he stared at you.
"A-A father?" He whispered. "I want to be a father. I want to have a family with you, Y/n. I want nothing more than that."
You nodded slowly, placing your hand over his and slowly pulling the blade away from Namjoon's neck.
You brushed your nose against his.
"Then, let's get out of here." You said, body trembling. "Let's go home before it's too late."
Yoongi blinked in surprise as your lips met his in a kiss, his hand falling from Namjoon's throat and wrapping around your waist as he closed his eyes, relishing in the taste of you.
You used your free hand to motion towards the door, opening your eyes to make eye contact with Namjoon.
The dirty blond man gave you a weak nod, his hand clutching his bleeding injury as he slowly stood to his feet.
Yoongi slowly pulled away from the kiss, his eyes hazed with an unspoken happiness as he stared down at you.
"I know what you're doing." He whispered against your lips, giving you gentle peck. "You're naughty, babydoll."
Your eyes widened as his grip around your waist tightened, his free hand gripping your hair and turning you in his arms.
You froze as the cold blade of the knife came to meet your throat, eyes locking with Namjoon's.
The young mob boss froze in his steps, his body collapsing onto the floor as he watched Yoongi's crazed eyes glow with insanity.
"Quite a show you put on, Y/n." He laughed evilly. "I wished I could have fallen for it...I wish it were true....Honestly, Namjoon, I'm surprised you didn't try to peel her off of me. Are you really so much a coward that you would leave to safety while the woman you love is in the arms of another man? Pathetic."
You flinched as he pressed the blade tighter, drawing blood from you.
"This place is going up in less than a minute." He continued. "No one is leaving this house alive. No one."
"N-Namjoon." Your voice came out, catching his attention. "I-I'm sorry. I'm so sorry that this happened."
The blond man let out an exhausted sigh as eh leaned against the wall weakly, blood trailing down his jaw as he smiled weakly at you.
"I love you, Y/n." He confessed. "And, if this is the way we both die, then I'll continue to love you even after death....I wanted to save you, but I couldn't think of a better way to die...I know I don't deserve it-I don't deserve you...but, to die like this...to die with you here...I couldn't be happier."
Your eyes filled with tears at his confession.
"N-Namjoon, I'll be okay." You smiled. "I want to die like this too. If we meet again, in another life, let's be friends, alright?"
He shook his head, laughing weakly.
"You're too stubborn to be my friend." He laughed. "But, that won't keep me from falling in love with you all over again."
You bit your lip, trying to keep your emotions at bay.
If these were truly your last moments, you didn't mind spending them like this. Sure, no one wants to die like this....But, you were with someone you cared so deeply for...Someone who completely changed the way that you saw the world...and you were grateful for that.
You were thankful for the journey you had been on...the adventures and the friends you had met.
You were thankful for everyone...even Yoongi....
Dying didn't seem so bad if you were with someone you loved...and as you stared into Namjoon's eyes...You weren't scared of death.
You stopped trying to run from the inevitable.
You stopped trying to run from your death.
Your only regret was that you didn't tell him how you felt before your time was out.
"At least," Namjoon called, his eyes fluttering closed. "Let me do one good thing
before I die."
________________________________________________________________
Jimin bit his lip in anticipation as he helped Louis onto the steps of the boat, his eyes fluttering back and forth between the mansion
He couldn't stop himself from wondering if whatever plan you had succeeded...knowing you, you probably didn't have any kind of plan...
That was one thing he admired about you....your willingness to sacrifice yourself for the sake of others....
You...were so special-so different from anyone else he had met.
Your smile was always brighter than anyone else's.
Your laugh was far more contagious.
Your soul was far more beautiful.
His body flinched at the sound of a gunshot ringing throughout the island, eyes widening as he began to assume the worst.
His gaze shot towards the house, hands shaking with worry as he turned on his heel, his heart racing as he began to take off towards the mansion.
Surely nothing wold happen to you, right?
Nothing terrible would cause you to leave, right?
You were the hero of this story. This was supposed to be the part where you pull some last minute stunt and come out without a scratch-
BOOM
Jimin's body was flown back into the direction he came from as heat and smoke suddenly filled the air, shaking the earth and causing him to fall onto the ground quite suddenly.
The sound had Jimin's ears ringing as he struggled to stand, body aching all over as he stumbled, dark smoke filling his vision and blocking his view.
He needed a few moments to gather himself, his mind jostled by the sudden explosion.
Explosion.
His eyes widened in shock and terror as he pushed through the smoke, limping slightly as he trudged in what he believed to be the direction of the house.
His head turned in every direction as he searched for any indication of his location.
"Y/n!" He yelled, tears beginning to form in his eyes. "Y/n! Where are you!? Are you alright?!"
No response came, only the sound of flames consuming everything around him.
His brows furrowed as he stepped on a piece of brick that had seemingly flown from the mansion.
Seeing that small piece of brick caused Jimin's adrenaline to skyrocket, panic beginning to set in.
"Y/n!" He screamed. "Yoongi! Namjoon!"
He was so confused as he came across the large pile of wood and brick that used to be a home.
They had only come to stop Yoongi from hurting himself....They had come to save you...instead it seems that they had come to watch you die...
He fell onto his knees, hands digging and tossing aside brick and wood as he screamed your name, searching for any sign of your life...anything that would tell him that you were okay....anything that would shut down his worst fear and tell him that you weren't dead...
You couldn't be dead...
"J-Jimin.."
He froze at the familiar voice, hands trembling as his eyes followed the sound.
"Y-Yoongi."
The blond man lay crushed beneath a large pillar, half of his face ruined from the flames and the other half bruised and battered as he reached out to the young man.
"I-I did it." He laughed insanely, coughing up a bit of blood. "I-I finished it...She's safe now. She's-"
"Where is she!?" Jimin yelled, tears streaming from his eyes. "Where is Y/n?!"
Yoongi smiled, his head resting back as he stared at the smoke-filled sky.
"Y/n is.." He breathed, his last breath. "Dead."
Jimin watched with shocked, wide as Yoongi's last breath left him, a large smile remaining on his face even after his life had left him.
Jimin blinked, tears streaming down his face as he took in the destruction that surrounded him.
His body began to shake with sobs as he ran his hands through his hair.
It seemed like he had forgotten the most important thing about stories like this...
Sometimes....
The hero dies.
