C. 26.
"Absolutely not."
Your eyes snapped up to meet Yoongi's, watching as he shook his head fervently, jaw set in determination.
You could tell that he was angry, and you didn't blame him. He had spent all this time searching for you and trying to help you, only to have to end up putting a bullet through your skull.
You nervously glanced around the room, eyes scanning over each man before you before moving back to Yoongi.
"This is the only way." You stated. "Kill me and burn my body. That will put an end to this."
Yoongi's hazel eyes glared at you, his jaw clenching s he struggled to maintain his composure.
You watched as he slowly looked to the men beside him.
"Get out." He growled.
Jungkook's brows jumped in surprise at Yoongi's words, confusion falling over his features.
"No way." He said. "This concerns all of us. Not just yo-"
"This is my house!" Yoongi roared, glaring dagger at the young boy. "We will have a chance to discuss things later, but as of right now I want you all out of this room. Now."
Namjoon raised his eyebrows in amusement, not expecting Min Yoongi to behave in such a way. He was annoyed and impressed at the same time.
The dirty blond placed his hand on Jungkook's shoulder, causing the younger male to look back at him with widened eyes.
"Let's leave them to talk." Namjoon said with a grin.
Jungkook couldn't help but feel uneasy at the smile that Namjoon was sporting at the moment, not liking the fact that the most ruthless man in the city was acting calm at a moment like this. In the back of his mind, he had thought to scream in his face, but he knew that wouldn't be to the best of his interest.
Jungkook shoved away from Namjoon's touch, sending Yoongi a harsh glare and giving you one last glance before turning and stomping out of the room.
The rest of the men slowly followed suit, each one giving you different glances as they exited, softly closing the door behind them.
You swallowed hard, eyes never leaving your hands that currently rested in your lap.
You were anxious and nervous to hear what Yoongi was going to say. You hadn't known him very long, but you had never seen him so distraught or angry, not even when you had been shot on the first night the two of you met.
You didn't want to look him in the eyes...You didn't want to face him...You knew what he was going to say and, in all honesty, you didn't want to hear it.
"Yoongi-"
"I am not going to debate this." He interrupted solemnly. "I won't kill you and I won't let any of them do it either."
Your head snapped up at his words, brows furrowing as your e/c eyes crashed with his hazel ones.
"You have to." You argued. "If I die naturally, the virus is airborne and that will be it for all of us. The best option is for you to just put me out of my misery and burn me before anyone else gets infected."
Yoongi rose to his feet, his expression dark and angry.
"I won't do it!" He yelled. "I won't let you die!"
You sighed heavily, crossing your arms over your chest.
"You don't have a choice, Yoongi." You deadpanned. "You know what will happen if we don't do this."
He sent you a glare.
"That doesn't matter." He stated. "We can find a way to stop this."
You shook your head, running a hand through your hair.
"How?" You asked. "This isn't something that can just be solved at the drop of a hat-"
"You don't think I know that?!" He growled. "I know exactly what's at stake here-"
"Then start acting like it!" You countered angrily. "I know that you're upset, probably even angry with me and I don't blame you for that. But this is bigger than you and I. We have to do what needs to be done. If we don't millions of people will die."
He took a step towards you.
"I don't care about them!" He said honestly.
"Well, I do!"
A heavy silence fell over the two of you, the only sound heard being the sound of your heavy breathing as you glared at one another, both of you waiting to see which of you would speak first.
You could see so many emotions swimming in the hazel color of his iris'. Anger, confusion...but the most prominent one was fear...
Yoongi was scared.
He was scared of losing you. He was scared of watching you die and he was scared of having to kill you...He would never say it out loud though. No....He would shove his fear away for your sake. He wasn't going to let you see how fragile he was beneath all of his pent up rage and frustration.
"We'll find a cure." He started, tone softer than before. "We'll track down Minhyuk and Baekhyun and we will force them to create a cure for you."
You shook your head, huffing out quietly.
"We'd never be able to find them...and even if we did, it would take them days, maybe even weeks to create a cure for something this powerful....there is no way that it would wor-"
"We have to try something, Y/n!" Yoongi reasoned. "If we stand by and do nothing, you'll die!"
You frowned.
"I'm going to die anyway." You deadpanned. "It's better to just get it over with."
Yoongi clenched his jaw, hands forming fists.
"How long do you have?" He asked.
You sighed.
"Minhyuk claimed that it would take four days for it to take full affect...but I can't say for sure."
Yoongi moved forward, sitting beside you on the bed, his gaze searching yours.
"Then we have four days to cure you."
"Yoongi-"
"No." He stopped you. "I can't let you die, knowing that I didn't even try to cure you. I'm asking you to trust me, Y/n...I-I need you to trust me. If I can track down Minhyuk and Baekhyun, I can make them create a cure...I can save you..."
You watched him as he slowly grabbed your hand, intertwining his fingers with yours and placing a soft kiss on the back of your hand.
Your heart ached for the man in front of you, eyes softening as you watched him play with your finger tips mindlessly.
You silently weighed your options.
You didn't want to die, but you knew that killing you and burning your body would be the safest way to end all of this...and let everyone go on with their own lives.
But the way that Yoongi looked at you in that moment had you questioning your own beliefs. You could tell that he was struggling to hang onto you, for whatever reason..You knew that his insane plan was only him grasping at straws, trying anything and everything to avoid what was sure to come..
With a heavy sigh, you raised your eyes to his.
"If I let you do this, you have to promise me one thing," You started.
Yoongi nodded his head slowly.
"Alright."
You took a breath, watching as he toyed with your fingers.
"If this virus starts to take me, even before the four days are up," You paused. "You have to kill me.."
Yoongi swallowed hard, already expecting to hear those words come from your lips.
"I-I can't kill you." He breathed out softly. "But if I fail you...if I don't save you in time...I will let you go."
You extended your pinky, offering him a small smile of understanding.
"Promise me."
He eyed you for a few moments before wrapping his pinky around your own.
"I promise." He stated.
You let out a sigh of relief at his words, body relaxing against the headboard once again.
"Thank you." You said.
Yoongi hummed, thumb tracing circles over your skin.
"Don't thank me." He muttered, "I didn't do anything worthy of praise...I just promised to let you die."
You shook your head, raising your free hand up to caress his face reassuringly.
"You just promised to save lives." You said. "You promised to save my family, you promised to save my friends...you promised to save everyone, Yoongi...and for that I will forever be grateful to you."
The blue-haired man lowered his haze to the floor at your words.
"I-I don't want to lose you." His voice was shaky as he spoke. "Y-You mean so much to me."
You slowly moved your hand up to pet his hair gently.
"Everything will be okay." You consoled. "Even if we don't find the cure."
"How can you be so certain of that?" Yoongi asked quietly.
You shrugged your shoulders.
"I can't." You answered honestly. "But sometimes, hearing out loud is enough to comfort someone...even for only a few seconds."
The assassin slowly nodded his head in agreement.
"Thank you."
You smiled at him.
"Anytime."
You watched as he straightened his posture, rolling his shoulders back and reluctantly releasing your hand, his gaze moving towards the bedroom door.
"Well," He started slowly. "Would you like to meet them?"
You frowned in confusion.
"Who?"
Yoongi sighed.
"The rest of The Seven."
A/N,
Wow. Poor Y/n is really taking some blows from you guys. I'll try to make her a little less "dumb" in the upcoming chapters, but I would just like to say that I try to avoid being "generic". I don't want Y/n to be like the other leads in other stories...I am truly sorry if you don't like her in this book, but I wanted her to be different and smart(which she is)
If you don't like her, then no one is forcing you to continue reading, so please don't fill up my dm's and get mad about how "dumb" you believe she is or how you don't think she is worthy of any of the boys.
ON A BRIGHTER NOTE
I took a Humanities test Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I passed it. *sniffs confidently*. And I got to see my baby cousin yesterday. He and I got ice cream, it was great.
I love you guys so much!
-Max
