Weeks passed by and Yunho slowly accepted Seonghwa as his sire in this household. Not that Yunho had plenty of choices left anyway. He understood that he was much different than what he had been before, which firstly, surely made it a hundred times easier for Seonghwa to keep an eye on him now that he considered him as his responsibility. And secondly, Seonghwa felt pleased by the respect he was served.
Although, the prior warrior still had his fits, especially when blood was involved. Seonghwa knew it was the hunger pressing him into outliving his instincts, so he couldn't really blame Yunho for attacking him as it naturally just was a part of how he was now. But it also tired him of having to always be aware of his surroundings if he wanted to keep his body intact.
The episode yesterday had been especially bad. Despite how little Seonghwa knew about bringing up a new bloodthirsty vampire, he still was aware of how much blood those little new beasts craved in order to stay sane. Seonghwa far from remembered the time he had been at the same stage, but his intuition told him that Yunho should feed at least once a day. Unlike Seonghwa who enjoyed sipping on his drinks just a little every day, Yunho needed lots of blood. When he had brought in the three bowls of red liquids to the place where he had told Yunho to stay, he had refused any of its contents before he had tasted Seonghwa's blood. Yunho had jumped him the instant he had let go of the bowls, forcing Seonghwa back into the wall at the opposite end of the room. Yunho had had his nails clawing into Seonghwa's clothes which unraveled the moment Seonghwa had pushed the other off before teeth would have dug into his neck. Seonghwa was still much stronger than the newborn vampire, and Yunho had flung right into the wall too, Seonghwa's fingers enclosing around his throat as Yunho with all his might had fought for his freedom. That did not happen, instead, he was granted a wrecked head from the many times Seonghwa smashed it into the wall.
Now, Seonghwa stared at the ugly hole in his white-painted wall, feeling how annoyance was creeping into his soul.
When he thought about it, Yunho was actually only turning worse and worse every day that passed and Seonghwa couldn't really understand why he so much wanted to feed from him instead of the masses of blood in the presented bowls.
What was so special about drinking the blood he had consumed and now streamed around in his body? He blamed it on the raw instincts of their nature; where the sources of blood shall be gained by feeding directly off a living human.
Seonghwa got up from the mat on the floor and fetched a few bowls from the morgue before leaving to go find Yunho. After all, he took his responsibilities seriously no matter how much trouble they caused him.
Through the windows, he spotted Yunho leaning against one of the tall trees around the hanok, withered grass swallowing him down to the ground. Seonghwa sighed. Relieved, maybe.
He rarely spoke to him as it seemed Yunho would rather want to be left alone, but from what Seonghwa was able to conclude, the other enjoyed sitting outside at any time of the day. Seonghwa didn't really know why, but he guessed Yunho liked nature and its healing abilities on him. He pushed the door to the side before finding a heavy rock to sit on, one not too close to where Yunho sat. Then Seonghwa contemplated if he should step closer and ask him if he was hungry, or if he should stay put and wait for Yunho to freely come to him.
The air was dense today, full of mist that made it hard to see that far away in the distance. A result of the cooler seasons' beginning.
Seonghwa's eyes strayed back to the crumpled form of Yunho that somehow didn't seem like he was just resting a little up against the sturdy tree. Obviously, it would be hard to tell if a vampire acted ill now that there neither was any heartbeat or breath to calculate one's speculations off, but even from the distance between them, Seonghwa could tell that Yunho normally never would lean that exhausted up against the tree he always sat by. Theoretically, their kind did not even need any shuteye at all.
Somehow, the notice made a churn inside Seonghwa, and without thinking much about it, he went over to check on Yunho.
When his face came into view, his notion was only testified.
"Yunho, are you hungry?" asked Seonghwa, hands holding the fabrics of his hanbok as he crouched down beside Yunho to see his full reaction.
Yunho was biting his bottom lip but didn't open his eyes when he answered, "Sir."
"I told you to call me by Seonghwa."
That only made him bite even harder, "Sir- Seonghwa-ssi.. condone me and my utterances, but I do not feel so well," Yunho breathed as if even speaking strained him from energy.
Now, Seonghwa's suspicious mindset detected Yunho for any lies for he could easily have used this as an excuse to gain something. But his pale, blue, quivering lips were against the entire idea of Yunho lying.
Seonghwa pressed a hand to Yunho's forehead, but he didn't even startle. He was cold, colder than he should be with the amount of blood running inside him. For a moment Seonghwa could only look at him as he thought of why his body all suddenly just seemed to be shutting down. He snapped out of his daze before he finally removed his hand again, "Have you ingested anything edible else than blood?"
"No, I have not."
Seonghwa did not understand this, "Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Then he was not poisoned. Vampires could only fall ill in two different ways; if they consumed anything but blood or if they didn't drink enough blood. Maybe he was giving Yunho too little amount of blood anyway...
"Yunho," he said, "Are you hungry?"
His lip didn't even turn red from how he gnawed on it, "Yes, Seonghwa-ssi, I am, I think I need.. it.."
Seonghwa got up and waited for Yunho to do the same. Heavily the other heaved himself up, hands supporting himself against the tree. Contemplating if he should reach an arm out for Yunho to lean on, Yunho's legs already buckled the moment he let go of the tree and his tall body fell forward into the ground. Or, that would have happened if Seonghwa had not caught him.
"I'll carry you inside," Seonghwa said before picking up the man into his arms the same way he had done the night they had met.
Gods, he must be weakened, Seonghwa thought as he quickly pushed the door open with his shoulder and went straight to his own bed, which would be more comfortable for him to lay in than the arrangement Seonghwa had made for Yunho. "Stay put until I come back." He did not wait for any answer, hurrying off to fetch the blood he had prepared a moment ago and carry it with him into his personal room. Yunho had not moved any bit.
"Here, you have to drink some to feel better."
Seonghwa had no idea if this even would work, but Yunho didn't question anything, slowly gulping down the contents of the first bowl that Seonghwa held to his mouth. "Drink.. drink," he muttered every time Yunho paused with brows furrowed in disgust.
"Seonghwa-ssi, I don't think I can.." Yunho insisted rather weakly.
"You have to drink it all, your body needs more blood. You're weak, Yunho," he explained to the younger and pressed the ceramic bowl further into Yunho's parted mouth.
Yunho responded with a whine and turned his head away from the bowl, "But my body is telling me to stop, please, I cannot drink anymore."
Seonghwa pursed his lips, glaring at him with heedful eyes, "I thought you said you were hungry."
It was not a question.
Fear was running in the other's eyes and Seonghwa shortly glanced down at the hands Yunho fisted into Seonghwa's clothes.
"I'm so full; I can't take anymore.. please, I don't...think.. this is the right kind of blood.. it tastes weird."
Looking somewhat bewildered at the words, Seonghwa simply dipped his little finger into the bowl and put it into his mouth. The taste swirled around his tongue; a sweet flavour that only served him even more confusion.
His brows furrowed, then he discarded the bowl from his hands and placed it onto a small bed table nearby. Yunho's eyes were huge when he came back, full of hunger.
Seonghwa wasted no time with consent and straddled Yunho's lap while digging his fingers into his mouth. A startled sound escaped his throat but Seonghwa didn't budge, eyes searching for those pointy fangs he had been so fascinated about finding to be true. They rested peacefully, hidden just under Yunho's lips.
So he still was a vampire - but with bad taste in his mouth.
Seonghwa couldn't make it make sense.
A pair of hands enclosed around his wrists, weakly, although they still seemed adamant about holding onto him. Seonghwa observed the act in silence, feeling how a hiss tore from his throat and his eyes turning red as if mirroring Yunho under him. The rumble vibrated through his skin, starting from where Yunho's fangs touched his fingers, continuing up through his arms.
The shaking fingers tightened around Seonghwa's dainty wrists, but even if he easily could pull them off, he let Yunho have control over him.
A mewl blended with his throaty snarls when his fangs broke the skin of one of his fingers and blood started trailing into his mouth.
Seonghwa could feel the desperation of the soft prodding tongue licking around his digits, and the act made his stomach churn with guilt. Curtly, he decided to help, pressing his fingers against Yunho's fangs as blood filled his mouth at a more rapid pace now.
"Do you like it?" he purred as if he barely felt the sting of the fang spearing his finger at all.
Yunho didn't answer him, instead, he tugged at Seonghwa's arms and pulled the digits further into his cavern where they were met with a slick snaking tongue. His sharp teeth scraped across his hide, mapping out the bones until he bit down again, squeezing out more of the red liquid. Seonghwa let him, only pulling his unattended hand out of his mouth and cupping the side of his head with a trail of blood and spit.
Beautiful, Seonghwa thought, humming gently at the way Yunho eagerly tugged his tongue around his finger dripping with blood. This wouldn't drain him, but he was unsure of when Yunho would feel sated enough to let him go.
Seonghwa stared at the glow of red in Yunho's eyes with an intensity that weighed all of his current questions to this puzzling situation. The more Yunho sucked his blood, the heavier his thoughts became. He shifted his legs in the other's lap and forced his head back until the hind of his head crashed against the wall. Pressing his free thumb into the gorge of Yunho's throat he fought the strength with an aggressive growl, hands fisting around Seonghwa's wrists with steel as he desperately tried to hold on to Seonghwa's bleeding finger.
But Seonghwa was far stronger than him and at the second press of his nails digging into his throat, Yunho let go of him again. His red orbs hungrily eyed him while he licked his lips with a low rumble coming from the depth of his throat. Seonghwa left him to go find a rag and some water to clean up his bloody fingers.
