Chapter 9
Narrator POV
Izuku let out a heavy sigh, his thoughts swirling with frustration. Despite gaining new powers, Bakugo still managed to outshine him. 'Is he my kryptonite or something?' Izuku wondered silently
Shaking off those thoughts, Izuku redirected his focus towards another aspect of his abilities he wanted to explore—his strength. He got up from where he was seated and scanned the area for something heavy to test out his strength.
His eyes landed on a large cargo box nearby, sitting against the wall. 'Kinda too big but there's not much I can work with' Izuku thought as he walked towards it, a sense of anticipation building within him.
(Lol)
Crouching down, he inspected the box, searching for any clues regarding its potential contents. Placing his ear against its surface, he tapped lightly and listened attentively, repeating the process multiple times. The resounding knocks echoed hollowly. Filled with determination, Izuku extended his hand, fingers curling around the bottom of the box, his muscles primed and ready for the impending feat of strength.
As he lifted the cargo box, a rush of excitement surged through Izuku. To his surprise, the box felt incredibly light in his grasp. His initial expectations shattered, he quickly set it down, his face contorting into an expression of shock. How could something so big and sturdy turn out to be so lightweight?
Izuku's voice trembled with disbelief as he muttered, "A-are these real?" He walked up to the box once again, his curiosity getting the better of him. Knocking on its surface, he listened intently, his expression changing to a mix of surprise and certainty. "Yeah, it sounds real," Izuku confirmed, his voice tinged with a sense of wonder.
Izuku's gaze fell upon another nearby cargo box. An idea sparked within him, compelling him to put his newfound strength to the test. With deliberate movements, he grabbed the additional box and carefully positioned it atop the first, ensuring it was aligned perfectly.
Taking a deep breath, Izuku crouched down, his muscles tensing in anticipation once again. The moment of truth arrived as he firmly grasped the bottom box. As he straightened his legs, the weight of the stacked cargo boxes seemed nonexistent, astonishing Izuku once again. The boxes levitated as if they were filled with nothing more than air.
The sudden realization hit Izuku with a jolt, leaving him momentarily frozen in awe. The strength he possessed now far surpassed his wildest expectations. In one swift motion, he released the boxes, allowing them to crash down with a resounding bang. The impact reverberated through the area, adding to Izuku's astonishment. These are REAL! Unable to contain his excitement, Izuku hurriedly reached for his notebook and began to write.

Enhanced Strength :
- My strength is truly incredible. I effortlessly lifted two cargo boxes, even if they were empty. It's an amazing display of my strength. A quick Google search reveals that the average weight of cargo boxes like these ranges from 3,970 pounds to 4,850 pounds. If I'm being modest and choose the lower end of the weight range, multiplying it by 2 gives me 7,940 pounds. That's approximately 3 tons! I'm lifting up 3 tons like it's nothing. This level of strength is mind-blowing.
- I'm on par with the great heroes, like All Might, who can lift tons effortlessly.
- This holds so much possibilities, I can handle strong villains or be able to lift up heavy objects that trapped civilians if I were to go on a rescue mission when I become a hero
- Can this translate to other feats of strength like punches or kicks? If so can't my attacks...kill?
Izuku's mind buzzed with excitement as he reveled in the realization of his incredible strength. The possibilities seemed endless, and his thoughts raced to explore other potential abilities he could possess. A smile stretched across his face as he contemplated the two intriguing abilities that came to mind. Those being speed and that wall crawling ability he had on the train.
Izuku rose to his feet, feeling ready to test out his speed. He knew the importance of warming up before any physical activity, so he began a series of stretches, loosening up his limbs and preparing his body. As he moved, he look at the vastness of the warehouse surrounding him.
The sheer size of the space intrigued Izuku, and he felt an urge to gauge its dimensions more precisely. He made his way to the very end of the warehouse, his steps deliberate and measured. He counted each step, estimating the length as he went along.

Finally, Izuku came to a stop, a confident expression spreading across his face. Based on his calculations, he estimated the warehouse to be around 250 feet long. It was a substantial distance, and his estimation provided a tangible reference for his little experiment.
Eager to put his speed to the test, Izuku returned to the starting point, his heart racing with anticipation. Pulling out his phone, he positioned himself, ready to unleash his newfound speed and if he didn't unlock some enhanced speed then he would find out right now. With a deep breath, he started the timer, the seconds ticking away.
In an instant, Izuku shot forward, his legs propelling him at an incredible pace. The wind rushed against his face, his surroundings blurring into a haze. The distance between the warehouse walls seemed to shrink before his eyes. Within moments, Izuku reached the opposite side of the warehouse and came to a stop. Panting lightly, he checked his phone, disbelief washing over him. He had covered the entire length of the warehouse in just 3 seconds!
Izuku stood there with his mouth wide open. Eager to record this astonishing feat, Izuku hurriedly made his way back to his notebook. His hand trembled with excitement as he flipped to an empty page.

Enhanced Speed:
- My speed is truly incredible. I covered a distance of 250 feet in a mere 3 seconds. If we convert that into miles per hour, it would be around 55-56 miles per hour. That's mind-boggling. While I may not be a full-fledged speedster, I possess remarkable speed that surpasses that of a lion (weird comparison but it gets the job done)
- If I can move at such incredible speeds, does that mean my strikes possess an added speed?
- Also I find myself wondering about the limits of my speed. I'm not a machine or a car. I can't maintain that same pace indefinitely, right?
- The 3 seconds were my peak speed since it was my "launch" so the calculations of my speed could be inaccurate.
As Izuku's thoughts shifted, he decided to save further speed tests for another day and turned his attention to another ability he had been dying to try—wall crawling. The memory of sticking himself to the ceiling of the train flashed through his mind, igniting a curiosity to see if he could do that again.
He approached a sturdy wall within the warehouse, placing his hand against it in anticipation. At first, nothing seemed to happen. Izuku persisted, trying repeatedly, but still, his hand failed to stick to the wall. Frustration began to creep in as he attempted again and again, but there was no progress. Determined not to give up, Izuku uttered quietly to himself, "Izuku, stick to the wall."
In an instant, his hand stuck firmly on the wall, and surprise washed over Izuku's face. Encouraged by this initial success, he pressed his other hand against the wall, and it too stuck to the wall. Izuku then glanced down at his feet, contemplating whether they could also stick to the wall without direct skin contact. He pressed his foot against the surface, and to his delight, it clung to the wall. "H-How?"
Izuku began to climb, his movements steady and controlled until he reached the warehouse ceiling. A sense of thrill washed over him, his eagerness led him to climb even more. As he pushed the limits of his wall crawling, an unexpected thing happened. One of Izuku's hands accidentally tore a small piece of the ceiling, causing him to panic. Instantly, his grip on the wall loosened.
"AAAAHHHHH!" he instinctively screamed as he began to plummet towards the ground.
Instinctively, Izuku twisted his body mid-air, executing a flawless maneuver that allowed him to land squarely on his feet like a cat. The impact sent a jolt of force through his legs, but to his surprise, he remained steady, maintaining his balance. As he stood there recovering from the heart-pounding experience, Izuku wiped the beads of sweat off his forehead, feeling a mixture of relief and astonishment. With a deep breath, he made his way towards his trusty notebook, his thoughts still racing.
"Thank God for enhanced reflexes," Izuku murmured "And durability? I should've broken an ankle or something, especially since I landed directly on my feet." Izuku added.

Wall Crawling:
- This ability allows me to stick to any surface and crawl around effortlessly, granting me incredible maneuverability. It opens up a multitude of possibilities for combat strategies and stealth missions, sneaky as a spider.
- It's fascinating that my foot was able to stick to the wall, even without direct skin contact. This suggests that the adhesion mechanism isn't solely based on skin-to-surface contact, this raises more questions on the principals that make up my wall crawling ability.
- The incident where I accidentally ripped a piece of the ceiling poses an interesting question. Was it due to my enhanced strength or my wall crawling ability? If it's my wall crawling then it implies that I can potentially pull/rip things through my "sticky" hands.
After finishing his notes, Izuku glanced at his phone and realized how late it had become. Knowing he needed to get home but, before that he decided to test out a peculiar idea that had been swirling in his mind. If he has spider like abilities could he potentially produce his own webs, just like a spider?
Contemplating the various possibilities on where he could shoot webs from, Izuku furrowed his brows and shook his head. "No way am I shooting webs out of my butt," he muttered with a shiver. He thought of alternative options, considering where else he could shoot webs from. He thought about spiders and how they use their spinnerets. Some spiders spit out their webs but the idea of shooting webs from his mouth felt stupid, even to him.
As he continued to brainstorm, Izuku's attention shifted to his wrists, noticing a slight bump. Is that where he can shoot webs from?
Filled with anticipation, he threw his hands up in the air and exclaimed, "Go web!" However, to his disappointment, nothing happened. He tried again and again, using phrases like "fly," "up up and away web," and even "shazam." Each attempt was a fail.
Growing increasingly frustrated, Izuku threw his hands up again and repeated, "Go!" Still, no webs. He was persistent and tried different combinations of words and hand movements like "go web go" and "go, go, go!" Yet, his efforts only resulted in mounting frustration and a sense of discouragement.
"Just go!" he pleaded, throwing his hands up in a particular way. This time, he felt a sensation building up from his wrist, a tangling sensation. It felt like he was peeing out of his wrists....if that makes sense. The web shot out, but instead of a focused and controlled web shot, the webs dispersed wildly, scattering in all directions, and not going that far.
"WHAAATTT?!" he exclaimed in a mixture of disappointment and anger. Shot after shot, the webs remained messy and splattering everywhere, far from the impressive displays he had imagined.
To add insult to injury it looked nasty when he shot webs. A small hole would open up from his wrist, it looked uncanny and disturbing. If he had trypophobia then this would be the death of him.
Feeling defeated, Izuku collected his belongings and reluctantly decided to call it a day. As he walked towards home, his mind still preoccupied with his failed web shooting attempts, he then pulled out his notebook and started writing.
