Chapter 6
Narrator POV
Izuku's heart was pounding as he rushed home, his mind still reeling from the unexpected events on the train. He couldn't believe what had just happened - he had never been in a fight before, let alone use some kind of power or have powers in general. His thoughts were jumbled and chaotic, but he knew one thing for certain - he needed to get home as soon as possible.
Small Timeskip
Finally, he arrived at his house and knocked on the door, his heart still racing. When his mother Inko opened the door, he practically threw himself into her arms, hugging her tightly. He could feel her worry and concern as she hugged him back, and he knew he must look a mess - sweaty, disheveled, and clearly shaken up.
"Are you okay, Izuku?" Inko asked, concern etched into her face.
Izuku nodded quickly, not wanting to worry his mother any further. He was grateful for her concern, but he just wanted to go to his room and process what had happened. Then his stomach growled.
"I was so worried-" Inko said, her voice filled with anxiety and concern, but her words were abruptly cut off by Izuku
"Watch out!" Izuku exclaimed, his eyes locked on a tiny fly that darted through the air. With lightning-fast reflexes, he reached out to catch it mid-flight.
"It's a fly, Izuku" her voice filled with surprise and amusement, as she watched her son snatch a fly out of thin air. "Don't put it in your mouth!" Inko said as she smacked Izukus hand.
Izuku reluctantly let go of the fly. Licking his fingers absentmindedly, he turned to his mother, a sheepish expression on his face. "Sorry, Mom. I kept you up this late. I'm... I'm insensitive, I'm irresponsible, and I'm hungry," He bowed his head slightly and rushed over to the kitchen
Without another word, he rushed to the fridge. He opened the door and scanned through the food. His eyes locked onto a particular dish: leftover katsudon. He quickly retrieved the container and ate it right there and then. With his bare hands Izuku ate almost all of it. He closed his eyes, savoring the explosion of flavors in his mouth.
he looked up at his mom, his emerald eyes sparkling "This katsudon," he managed to say between mouthfuls, "it beats all the katsudons. I don't even think Lunch Rush could make katsudon this good."
Izuku then grabbed a stack of food, balancing it precariously on one hand as he made his way to his room. Inko watched him go, unsure of what to make of her son's behavior.
Small Timeskip
In Izuku's room, he sat down on his bed and started to munch on the food, his thoughts still racing. He couldn't believe how quickly everything had escalated on the train especially when he broke a guy's arm by just blocking his punch, and he couldn't shake the feeling of adrenaline coursing through his veins.
As he ate, he started to talk to himself, his words coming out in a jumbled stream of consciousness. Inko heard him through his door and felt her worry growing. What exactly was going on with her son?
She went to her room and did a quick search on her phone for any information that might explain Izuku's behavior.
Google search : Why is my son coming home late, is sweaty, hungry, and talking to himself more than usual?
When she saw the results, she was shocked - the internet was suggesting that Izuku might have done drugs specifically smoked weed. Inko's heart sank - she didn't want to believe that her son could be involved in anything like that.
Google response : The presented symptoms, namely increased appetite referred to as "munchies" and engaging in self-conversations associated with paranoia, have been widely attributed to drug consumption. The specific substance in question is commonly known as marijuana or weed. It is advisable to initiate a conversation with your child to address this particular circumstance.
Despite her worry, Inko decided to leave Izuku for the night. She didn't want to freak him out even more or make him feel like she didn't trust him. Instead, she resolved to talk to him in the morning and see if she could get to the bottom of what was going on.
Meanwhile, back in Izuku's room, he continued to eat and talk to himself. He felt like he was on edge, like every sensation was heightened and every noise was amplified. He could hear his mother's footsteps from all the way across the house, each one echoing loudly in his ears.
As he finished the last of the food, he started to feel drowsy. His eyelids felt heavy, and his body felt weak. Before he could even make it to his bed, he fell to the ground. He stretched his arm in a desperate attempt to retrieve his blanket, which lay tantalizingly within reach atop his bed. Grasping the fabric tightly in his hand provided the only comfort he could cling to.
As he lay there, he could feel his senses dulling, like a curtain was falling over his mind. He knew he needed sleep, but he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. Slowly, he pulled the blanket over himself and let his tired body drift off into a restless sleep.
Timeskip
Izuku woke up feeling a sudden rush of energy coursing through his veins. He sat up, blinking in surprise as he realized that he felt different, stronger somehow. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, but he knew that something had changed.
Glancing over at his clock, Izuku's eyes widened in shock as he saw that he was running late for school. He scrambled , his mind racing as he tried to get ready as quickly as possible.
In a hasty frenzy, he darted towards the bathroom, only to inadvertently rip the door knob out of the socket. A perplexed expression adorned Izuku's face, but he chose to dismiss the incident as a mere instance of a loose knob. Without a second thought, he leaped into the shower, impulsively turning on the water flow, yet again he repeated the same mistake as he unintentionally broke the shower knob once more, resulting in an unwelcome spray of water drenching him entirely.
Amidst the chaotic shower experience, bottles of shampoo teetered perilously on the edge, and began falling to the floor. However, displaying his remarkable reflexes, Izuku skillfully caught each falling bottle, ensuring they never hit the ground.
Feeling a sense of confusion bubbling up inside him, Izuku quickly finished his shower and dried himself off. As he reached for his toothbrush, he squeezed out a drop of toothpaste, only to accidentally shoot a large amount onto the sink. Looking at the glob of toothpaste on the sink, Izuku couldn't be bothered and just wanted to get today over with.
After completing his tooth brushing routine, Izuku proceeded to cautiously twist the sink's faucet with a delicate twist to avoid any more mishap.
Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Izuku continued with his morning routine. He got dressed, pulling on his pants only to find that they were a bit tight and short on him. He frowned, wondering if he had outgrown them overnight.
As Izuku looked at himself in the mirror, he couldn't help but be surprised at the changes he saw. He grew a bit taller, his body more toned than it had been before albeit not a lot (he already had a nice physique before the bite). And, he had to admit, he looked a bit more handsome, too. But the bigger surprise for him was that he wasn't wearing his glasses and he could see clearly.
Soon Izuku felt a sudden rush of heat spread through his body. He blushed, realizing that this might be some kind of puberty part 2,
"I-I think I hit puberty...again," Izuku stammers, his voice filled with uncertainty and a hint of disbelief, but quickly brushing that thought to the side.
Feeling a sense of newfound confidence, Izuku flexed his muscles like All Might, admiring the way they bulged and rippled beneath his skin. But then, just as he was really getting into it, he heard a loud knocking at his door making him jump and instinctively covering his body with his hands.
"Izuku-kun! Are you up yet? It's time for breakfast!" It was his mother, Inko, calling him
"Y-Yeah, I'm up... just, uh, give me a second. I-I'll be right there," Izuku responds anxiously
"Are you feeling better this morning, sweetie? Any change?" Inko's voice carries genuine concern and care, reflecting on the events that happened last night.
"Change? Yeah, big change!" Izuku exclaims, his voice filled with joy and excitement.
"Well, hurry up, sweetie. You don't want to be late for school, and I really need to talk to you," Inko gently insists, her tone conveying a mix of maternal concern and urgency.
Izuku quickly composed himself, putting on his shirt and headed out of his room, eager to see what delicious food his mom had prepared for him and what exactly she wanted to talk about to him.
As he sat down at the table and began to eat, the two of them sat in a comfortable silence for a while. But then Inko suddenly spoke up, her tone serious.
"Izuku, I need to ask you something. Have you been doing drugs or smoking weed?"
(Izuku is wearing his uniform)
Izuku choked on his food, surprised by the sudden and unexpected question. But he quickly regained his composure and shook his head vehemently.
"No, Mom, of course not! Why would you even think that?"
Inko's face softened a bit at her son's answer, but she still seemed skeptical. The two of them went back and forth for a while, with Izuku doing his best to convince his mother that he was telling the truth.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Inko seemed to believe him. She let out a deep sigh and shook her head, looking almost relieved.
"I'm sorry, Izuku. I just...I don't know. With all the changes you've been going through lately, I just wanted to make sure everything was okay."
Izuku nodded, feeling grateful for his mother's concern. But at the same time, he couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration. Why did everyone always assume the worst of him?
After finishing his breakfast, Izuku gathered his things and prepared to leave.
"Bye, Mom!" Izuku said
Inko's brow furrowed with concern as she noticed something missing. "Wait, Izuku, why aren't you wearing your glasses? Did you break them again?" she asked
Izuku paused, turning back to face his mother "I don't need them anymore, Mom,"
Inko looked at her son, a mix of surprise and confusion reflected in her eyes. However, as she watched him stand confidently before her, a sense of nostalgia washed over her. She remembered her own teenage years and the sudden shifts in personal style and identity that had occurred during that time. Inko's confusion began to fade, replaced by an unwavering sense of support.
"Be careful, Izuku," she called out, her voice filled with both worry and a mother's unwavering support. "If you ever need them again, your glasses will always be here for you."
Izuku nodded appreciatively, understanding the concern behind his mother's words. "Thank you, Mom. I'll remember that. I'll be back before dinner, bye" he replied, while leaving.
As he made his way to the train station, Izuku couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. He had no idea what lay ahead, but he was eager to find out.
He really hopes that he gets to talk to Jiro.
