Chapter 14
Narrator POV
The sun had begun to set, casting a warm golden glow over the busy streets of Musutafu. Izuku continued walking home, his eyes fixed on his phone's screen, still in disbelief over the accidental photo he sent Uraraka. He mumbled to himself, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. He grumbled a bit, mentally scolding himself for the awkward mistake, but Uraraka didn't seem to mind so everything should be good right?
As he continued walking, his mind preoccupied with worry, he suddenly felt a tingle at the back of his neck.
BBBZZZZ
Izuku's instincts kicked in, and he quickly shifted his body to the left side, evading an incoming shoulder check from Bakugo. Time seemed to slow down once again. In this trance-like state, Izuku assessed the situation. He saw Bakugo's usual angry expression, his eyes narrowed with annoyance, and his fists clenched tightly. The goons behind Bakugo wore smirks, anticipating the imminent clash between the two classmates.
Izuku noticed the subtle shift in Bakugo's weight as he prepared to launch another attack. The look in his bullies eyes intensified, signaling that he wasn't backing down and wanted more. Izuku knew he had to act quickly. Time snapped back to normal, and Izuku reacted quickly, stepping back to create some distance between him and Bakugo.
"Why the fuck are you here?" Bakugo snapped, his aggressive demeanor causing Izuku's anxiety to heighten. "I-I came back from the newspaper club, and I-" Izuku stammered, attempting to explain himself, but Bakugo didn't let him finish. He released a loud blast from his hands, stopping Izuku in his tracks and sending a shock of fear through him.
"It was a rhetorical question, dumb shit!" Bakugo sneered, not one to tolerate interruptions due to his massive ego. Izuku nodded, swallowing hard as he tried to steady his breathing. The thick silence between them was suffocating, making Izuku feel small and vulnerable.
"You didn't think I heard what you and Ears said," Bakugo finally said, breaking the silence. "E-ears? Are you talking about Jiro?" Izuku asked, feeling a lump forming in his throat. "YES!, the only person that talks to you, dumbass!" Bakugo retorted, his voice laced with bitterness.
"Well, y-yeah, I kinda didn't think you heard us," Izuku admitted, the sweat on his palms becoming more apparent.
Bakugo glared at Izuku, clearly still upset but perhaps a bit curious now. "What else did you tell her?" he demanded, his voice tinged with a mix of anger and concern. Izuku nervously started playing with his collar, something he often did when he was anxious. "N-nothing... I didn't say anything else," he stammered, trying to keep his voice steady
Bakugo's expression softened slightly, but he quickly masked it with a scowl. "Just get the fuck out of my way and don't say any more shit to her, alright?" he commanded, his words sharp and commanding. "S-sure," Izuku replied, feeling conflicted but not wanting to escalate the situation further.
As Bakugo and his goons started to leave, a sly grin spread across one of the goon's faces. "DAMN!" he exclaimed, drawing everyone's attention back. "WHAT!?" Bakugo demanded, annoyed by the sudden interruption.
The goon slightly flinched, he hesitated for a moment then mustered the courage to speak, "You didn't hear what Deku said?"
Izuku's heart sank, knowing exactly what was going to happen. He began to panic, realizing that he was about to get into even more trouble.
"What did he say?" Bakugo demanded, his eyes narrowed in anger. The goon grinned, enjoying the opportunity to create chaos. "Deku called you a bitch. Personally, I wouldn't let that slide."
Bakugo's face twisted with rage as he turned back to face Izuku, who was now in a state of panic. "W-w-w-wait, Kacchan, I didn't say that!" Izuku stammered, his heart racing as he raised his hands in a panic. The smirking goon stepped forward, adding more fuel to the fire. "Yeah, you did! Stop lying!"Izuku tried to explain, but his words were drowned out by Bakugo's fury.
"N-n-n-o, I didn't, I swear!" Izuku pleaded, trying to reason with them. But one of the lackeys, eager to see some action, pushed Bakugo into attacking. "Beat his ass, Bakugo!" Bakugo's temper flared, and with a furious shout "DIE," he lunged at Izuku with explosive force.
BBBBZZZZZ
Izuku's instincts kicked in with a jolt of adrenaline, and his body moved on its own, fueled by fear. The moment Bakugo lunged at him with a furious onslaught, Izuku's senses sharpened. He could feel the rush of air as Bakugo's powerful blows sliced through the space he had just occupied, the wind brushing against his skin like a warning of the danger that lurked. A warning of the power that Bakugo holds.
Izuku leaned back to avoid a swing that would have dislocated his jaw, twisted his body to sidestep a punch aimed at his ribs, and pivoted on his heel to evade a flurry of explosions directed to his face. Izuku did all of this only to find himself backing into a brick wall.
His back pressed against the hard, concrete wall. To add salt to the wound, Bakugo started charging up a large explosion to hit Izuku. Izuku saw that the distance between them was rather short and there were no real ways to get out of this. He has also seen the power and type of explosion that Bakugo was charging up, it was a vertical type explosion so jumping over the explosion was a no but, Izuku made a plan that would either make him look like a badass or a dumbass.
Planting his hands and feet against the wall, he used it as a springboard, catapulting himself sideways. Izuku barely made it out of that attack, Bakugo's blast erupted just behind him, the scorching heat grazing his heels as he soared through the air.
Bakugo's eyes widened in surprise at Izuku's strange maneuvers, but Izuku barely had time to catch his breath before his spidey sense kicked in again. He swiftly turned his head to the right, only to see a goon toss water at him. His vision became blurry, making it difficult to see clearly.
'WHAT THE HELL' Izuku thought as he felt the cold water splashing on his face and the amount of water seemed too much. Did they throw a bucket of water on him or what?
As Izuku tried to clear his vision, he suddenly found himself facing Bakugo's right fist hurtling toward him. Feeling an acceptance to his fate, he braced himself for the impact. Bakugo's fist collided on Izuku's face but, something was off.
Though the punch still stung, it didn't inflict the devastating damage he had anticipated. It was as if an invisible barrier had lessened the impact, saving him from a brutal punch. Izuku's eyes widened in astonishment, and for a second, he couldn't comprehend what had just occurred. Also his spider sense wasn't buzzing anymore....why?
Amidst the chaos, the goons watched in disbelief, Izuku quickly broke out of his thought and slowly shifted his gaze to Bakugo who was sprawled on the ground. The silence that enveloped the scene was deafening, broken only by the heavy breaths coming from Bakugo.
His hand looked disfigured, the knuckles red and trembling, evidence of the force with which he had struck his opponent. Izuku stood nearby, shock and concern evident in his wide eyes. He couldn't believe what had just transpired. Did he really cause this injury to Bakugo?
Bakugo's grip on his pain had been impressive, but it finally slipped out in a loud, primal scream that echoed through the alley. "FUUUCCKKKK!"
Izuku and the rest of the goons started panicking, due to never seeing Bakugo in this state."K-Kacchan I-I-I didn't mean for this to happen," Izuku stammered. Despite what had happened, he couldn't stand to see Bakugo in such pain. Gathering his courage, he took a hesitant step towards his friend, wanting to offer assistance and check on him. "A-Are you okay?"
But Bakugo's pain seemed to fuel his anger further, and he lashed out at Izuku with a rage that was almost terrifying. He grabbed Izuku by the arm, pulling him closer, and unleashed a torrent of insults and accusations, each word dripping with bitterness hurting Izuku's already broken confidence.
"K-Kacchan, please... let me help you,"
His goons rushed to his side, also offering assistance, but he pushed them away fiercely. "I don't need your damn help!" he shouted, refusing to show any weakness.
As Bakugo stormed off, his lackeys followed suit, casting disgusted looks at Izuku. One of them, a guy with medium length brown hair, decided to add insult to injury and slapped Izuku on the head before leaving. The force of the blow made Izuku's head snap to the side, leaving a small stinging sensation. Izuku remained in the dimly lit alley, bewildered and confused about the sudden turn of events, rubbing his head as he watched them leave.
As he sat there, Izuku couldn't shake the feelings of guilt and self-doubt. He wondered if he had somehow caused more conflict between him and Bakugo, and he questioned if there was any way to mend their broken friendship. Unbeknownst to Izuku or anyone, a certain kid with black hair and sharp teeth had been observing the entire confrontation from a distance. This mysterious figure, looking from across the street felt a mix of sadness and disappointment in himself for not stepping in, not being a true hero.
Meanwhile, deep within Izuku's thoughts, a small flicker of surprise ignited. "Did I just win a fight against Kacchan?" he pondered, disbelief evident in his voice. "Technically, I did, so this makes it... 1 - 453."
"Not good but it's a start"
I made this chapter bc it was originally the beginning of the original chapter 14 but it didn't give me satisfaction bc it was going to be too long and messy in my opinon. Also I wanted to practice writing fight scenes since *spoliers* Izuku is slowly building up to be spidey🗣️hoped you guys liked it bc this is my first story and I'm just trying my best to describe/show my vision💀💀💀
