Tying up my braids is in a bun is a daily ritual unless I don't feel like it. Looking at my melanin skin I loved how it glows when I rub Vaseline but I hate how it shows the dark spots under my eyes.

"Bambi? You ready" mama said from outside my door.

I hummed styling my hair. I went downstairs knowing that mama had already packed my clothes and necessities and saw them in the living room. I sat quietly at the dinning table eating the pudding my mama made feeling her kiss my forehead.

"How was your night Alcmena?"

"It was good mama thank you for asking"

Finishing up my food I took it to the sink and washed my plates while mama was still sipping on her coffee.

"Thank you for the food mama"

"Thank God"

I whispered my thanks to God, a knock resounded on the door indicating the arrival of the Seleucid army. Mama stood up to open it even though I was close to the door.

"Hello, welcome please come in"

"No ma'am we just came to collect the gifted" I scoffed internally. So that's what they are calling us now.
I carried my box since it was not heavy.

"Mama I'm ready". Seeing the tears in my Mama's eyes made me feel somewhat bad but I know it was all act.

2 hours earlier-

Mama dragged me to the couch sitting me down. Sighing I knew it was serious for her to look like that.

"Bambi I know you know I was going to have this talk with you but I'll say it anyway". I nodded showing her I'm listening.

"Whatever you do don't show your true self, these people destroy what they do not understand okay? Humans can be ruthless when confused and remember don't let what they say get to you and do not be quick to anger even though you have your mama's anger" she chuckled bitterly making me smile a little, I do have her type of anger. She cupped my cheek looking me in the eye.

"I packed your drugs always take them and even though I said you should not show your true self, don't allow them to push you around or bully you. You are your mama's daughter, you're a fighter, a survivor, you are my Alcmena okay?" I nodded again feeling tears build up in my eyes.

"If those measly soldiers come later follow my lead okay? I'll visit you regularly in the camp I heard it's located in the south, the pelopónnese. Even though I heard it's beautiful there just be careful okay?"

"I will mama"

I hugged my mama and saw her full on crying I wanted to laugh but held it in, she can be a drama queen sometimes, I'm not even sure why she insisted on acting though, I entered the bagger 288, seeing the remaining gifted the car. Plugging in my ear pods I did not want to start any conversation with any one of them and from how they distanced themselves away from me it seemed as if they agreed with me, but the girl with the auburn hair stayed close to me.

I did not pay her mind and just listened to my music.
Closing my eyes and leaning my head back I relaxed thinking about how I'm going to manage through out this camp without my mama. I really hope she is not worrying too much, knowing her she's probably eating chocolate to calm her nerves from skyrocketing because of worrying.

Turning to look outside I remembered that the car had tinted windows so I didn't bother knowing where the avenue will be.

"Hey, we're here" I felt someone tapping my shoulder, I opened my eyes and felt the vehicle not moving.

Guess we've arrived.

I turned looking at the girl who woke me up.

"Thank you". Even though I did not want to talk, mama would have used my bones for skewers if I'm not polite.

She nodded. "The names Salazar....Salazar Slytherin".
I'm not judgmental or any thing but Slytherin, really?
But I just hummed coming down from the car.

She still followed, standing beside me. "I know you didn't remember so..". Honestly I didn't care but you know the 'be polite policy'.

"I'm Alcmena"
"I know" I just gave her a deadpanned look and she laughed, and dare I say I was tempted a little to smile. I noticed the others looking at her but I guessed she did not pay them mind.

I heard a snort from the others, they really should learn to not eavesdrop.

I shrug my shoulders mumbling an 'okay'. She smiled at me, she really smiles a lot, she reminds me of my mama so I guess a friendship would not hurt.

Breathing in the air felt rainy. You know rain always have a particular scent, kind of addicting if you ask me. Looking around I saw cottages and cabins. I'd say I'm surprised but that's what I had expected from them.

"Ugh! This rain is going to ruin my heels".

The guy with glasses said. He finally speaks, has been quiet ever since.

"What would you know geek". Truthfully I don't have anything against strawberry blondes but this girl makes me feel like actually smashing her head, I'm not violent or anything just artistic.

Before the girl could say more and I knew she was going to say more, she was interupted by footsteps. Our attention turned towards the sound and saw the board of Seleucus coming our way.

When did they come?.

I caught the eyes of Doctor Klaus and smiled a little.

"Welcome gifted, please collect your luggages and you all will be assigned to your various cabins and mentors" Mr Chernik announced.
