The Grand Theatre

Operas, Plays, Musicals, Orchestral ensembles, and Magic shows happen here.

It's a feast for the ears and eyes when it's in use. Beware of falling chandeliers.

What you'll come to see here are scenarios. Since I can't think of something on the spot all the time. You can pick a scenario for your characters to start rping in. I've prebuilt a scene for you to place your characters in. You can start at any point in the scene and in nearly any place within it. Or tweak it for your preferred rping leisure.

Inside theatre

Walk through the front entrance and become entranced by the grand theatre.

The classic mural on the high ceiling swirling with color and nudity, as cherubs play on painted clouds on the dome ceiling above your head.A single golden Chandelier hangs from the center of the dome, sparkling with hanging crystals refracting candle light around the room. Using the term room loosely, a coldasack could fit in here. Every section of seats is enough for two houses to fit, comfortably. Five sections of red velvet seats with brass buttons descend as the floor slopes towards the main stage.

Feet sink lightly into black carpet, as thick as your thumb, as murmurs of wonder bounce off the marble columns and architecture. The four of the booths on the second level have their curtains pulled open and tied to the banister with tassels. The fifth and largest one is closed, the royal crest embroidered on the curtains. It doesn't take a genius to figure out who it is reserved for.

Then there is the stage itself. What lies behind the curtains is sure to be just as extravagant as everything outside of it. Just in front of the floor music section is the wood stage. Engraved into the side facing the audience is a foreign phrase, surrounded by gold leafing. Surely it's foreign for a false sense of sophistication, it would be little trouble to translate it honestly.

"Labore et artis amor populis exhibetur."

🎼Opera Scenario🎵

An opera that tells the supposedly true story of how the kingdom of Illis became cursed. It's sung entirely in native Illisan.

Pamphlet overview:

Long ago in a land once called Sil, magical races thrived and flourished. They lived day to day without need of king or militia. Their land was imbued with magic and all manner of wealth though they cared little for it.

Not far from the magical land was the kingdom of Illeá, where humans walk and live still. With their desires to expand their reach further they claimed the land of Sil for themselves. Sharing the land with it's inhabitants at first but becoming more dominant as time passed.

Conflict was inevitable but an official war between Sil and Illeá was avoided. Illeá took over Sil making it a province. Out numbered and generally peaceful the people of Sil became secondary citizens in their own lands. They did not give up on their land still.

In a last effort to have the humans leave their land entirely, the first Wall from the Sorcerers Stone was called. To cover all of Sil they poured the magic from their very life blood sacrificing themselves. The wall created a dome around the main land covering it in raw magic. Humans, unable to handle the magic forced into their systems rejected it in the form of curses. It was a temporary victory as the humans still did not leave.

The kingdom of Illeá disowned the province and the citizens that were now abominations. Rejected by their own and cursed, the humans founded the new kingdom of Illis. Holding all the inhabitants responsible for their condition and the strongest of Sil dead from creating the wall, the Illisans enslaved them.

It's said the oldest bloodlines have the most harmful curses because of this. This old tale is considered folklore and many variations exist. With no written word on it, it remains a very tall tale of long ago in a not so far away land.

As you can tell, like most operas, it doesn't end happily. It has great performances from the people and wonderful costume design. It's interesting to see cursed performers play normal humans for the first half of the opera. Flowing fabrics, over the top characters, a blaring choir and operettas what more could you ask for? The Primadonna Ahana is known for her celebrated solo as well as the castrato Timerin.

🎷🎻Orchestra of One📯🎹

A magician and conductor Grethif stands at the podium with his music sheets open. The stage is filled with orchestral instruments in their stands lifelessly. With a tap of his wand on the stand they take on a character and life. It was as though they all tilted their head up to Grethif looking for their cue. Taking a breath the symphony began.

Concerts including works such as:

The Necromancers Night Out: A dark and frightful tune relying on the strings section heavily. It's said to make the dead turn in their graves with unease.

Frolick of the Fae VII: A well blended piece with light percussion and a lot of high winds. It has a glamour and playfulness about it.

Werewolf in Sheep's Wool: The music has the peaceful charm at the start with great build. Going from unsuspecting innocence to a blood bath of imagery.

Dungeon of the Dragon: Loud thumping heart pumping song. Makes you feel like the sulfur and smoke is in the air as the chain binding a massive dragon crumbles to pieces.

Song of Frost against Fire: Spoiler alert- Fire wins at the end of the song.

Harpies Haven: Feel like your soaring with large wings and grazing the clouds. This piece is very beloved and features a beautiful Harp solo.

Mysteries of Magic: From wonder to horror as the music tells the tale of a sorcerer tampering with magic he doesn't understand and should've never discovered.
