Marinette stomped up to the door, trying to push it open herself. She probably had a case of air-borne tears, and her face was all red and swollen.
She was just trying to get into the hall with the other girls, but she couldn't open it all by herself. Defeated, she turned back into the grand hall.
She went to the front doors as she heard the guards run up to her from behind. "Hey! Where are you going," the guard's voice echoed, Marinette whipping her head around. "You are not allowed outside," the one on the left spoke before Marinette could open her mouth.
"Hold up," the one on the right shoved him behind himself. "Well, I think we could make an exception," he paused. "For a pretty girl, like yourself," he smiled at her.
"Dude," the other one whispered. "No flirting with the selected!"
"What's the big deal?" he whispered back. "If you want-"
"You should really listen to him," Marinette warned, wiping her tears. "Because, I could report you two to the king or the prince's advisor, and you could get fired," Marinette said as they both jumped.
"W-Wait pl-"
"Or," she started, "you could let me outside, and your little secret will be kept," she stammered. The guards glanced at each other before opening the gate and letting Marinette outside.
"Thanks," she mumbled.
She went outside onto the same bench Adrien and Marinette sat on at the beginning of the competition. She sighed, listening to the sound of the slight breeze, as the tears on her cheeks began to dry.
She could hear some men screaming and shouting from the distance, but did her best to ignore it. She leaned back into the bench as she contemplated every mistake she had ever made.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of Zoey screaming her name. "Z-Zoey?" Marinette asked as she ran up to her. "Come on, Marinette. We should go now," Zoey breathed as Marinette trailed behind her.
Zoey shut the gate behind her, Marinette snuggling in the warm blanket that had been draped over her shoulders. It was going to be a rough night.

The next day, Marinette ate breakfast in her room. She went down occasionally to converse with Alya and some other girls, but she avoided Adrien. Though, with his attempts to ignore her, this was very easy.
She left in the afternoon to go get some water and heard some whispering through the other room. Wanting to investigate, she left her water and walked into the theatre room. She heard the sound of Adrien's muffled voice as well as Lila's.
Marinette burst into the room as she saw what horrors she had discovered. "Ahem," she interrupted as Lila and Adrien turned their heads around.
She had just caught them...kissing.
"I told you," Lila snarled as Marinette got angrier.
"Lila? Seriously?" Marinette shouted as Adrien stood up. "You know she is a liar! Your such...such an idiot!" Marinette screamed as Adrien scoffed.
"You don't even get to be mad, since you did the same thing to me," Adrien responded angrily.
"At least Luka wasn't a liar! Luka is a kind soul, unlike her," she gestured to Lila. "Lila Rossi is a liar and manipulator!" Marinette shot without slight hesitation.
"Lila is kind and understanding! And, she doesn't have an affair with her ex!" Adrien shot back as Marinette felt tears brim her eyes.
"You disgust me!" They both shouted in unison as they paused breathing heavily.
"Well, I think I know who I am eliminating this week," Adrien spat, turning around. "I'm excited to leave this wretched palace," Marinette shot back.
"I'm excited about your departure as well," Adrien muttered softly. Lila was smirking as Adrien and Marinette both left the room.

Marinette sat in her room, as Zoey brewed tea for her. "I've never seen you so upset, miss," Zoey whispered worriedly as Marinette covered her face. "I don't think I have ever been," Marinette laughed softly and sadly.
There was a knock on the door, and Zoey reluctantly opened it. "What do you want!?" She shout through the door, signalling to Marinette it was Luka.
"Luka, what is it?" Marinette asked, pushing Zoey behind her softly.
"Can I come in?" He asked as Marinette nodded. He sat down on the couch as Marinette crossed her legs on the bed. "I just want you to know," he sighed.
"I'm done."
Marinette looked at him confusingly. "What do you mean...?" Marinette asked softly. She hoped it didn't mean what she thought it meant.
"I know that you are in love with Adrien, and I know that me being here distracted you. That got you conflicted, and now your relationship may be unredeemable-"
"I'm ready for this to turn into a compliment," Marinette interrupted.
"But, he does love you no matter what he says. This is the saddest I've ever seen him through the competition, and you guys are in love," Luka sighed.
"I had you for years...It's time I move on," he got up.
"But...don't I get a say?" Marinette tugged on his arm.
"What if I still love you," Marinette looked down.
"You may love me, but you aren't in love," Luka sighed.
"You are still in love, though," he whispered, "You are in love with the prince."
Sorry for the short chapter -w-
