Chapter 26: Caught

The picture above is cute, amiright? (Edit: Enjoy the chapter! Well, try to .w.)

Marinette returned to her room, shutting the door while not noticing the gentlemen who had slithered in. "Hey Marinette," his voice rang, making Marinette jump. "What the-!?"

She let out a breath. "Oh it's just you Luka," she sighed.

"What are you doing here?" She tossed her shoes into the closet.

"I just wanted to talk to you," he breathed, "as friends," he added shortly after. They sat down on the couch, as Marinette waited patiently. "So...?" She asked impatiently, scurrying her hands over her knees.

She then noticed a plate of macarons on the table behind Luka, immediately reaching to grab one. "One sec," she mumbled, stretching out her fingers to scrape the macaron to the edge of the plate to grab. After feeling her cheek brush against Luka's face, she immediately jumped back, leaving the macaron on the edge.

"I-I'm so sorry," she stammered. "N-No," Luka cleared his throat, "it's my fault."

He paused for a few uncomfortable seconds. "Would it be so bad," Luka leaned in closer. The alarm system went off in Marinette's head, but it softened as Luka gave her a warm glance.

"Bad...?" Marinette whispered, "bad what?" "If we were together?" Luka smiled. Marinette's eyes were already heavy from the late dance, Luka also tired from chaperoning before and after the event. "Marinette," he groaned as their lips interlocked into one kiss.

Marinette was so sleepy; her reaction time was much slower. She put her hands onto his shoulders as they both pushed away at the same time.

"What do you think you're doing!?" They screamed in unison.

"Why did you kiss me!?"

"You kissed me back, Marinette!" Luka shot back.

"I told you this had to stop! Why does this keep happening!" She exclaimed when they both went quiet to a knock on the door.

"Princess?"

Marinette froze, recognizing the prince's tone.

"Go, hide - Zoey is cleaning the bathroom. Go, now." She shoved him inside, as Zoey gasped. Zoey gave Luka a glare, Marinette slamming the door before running up to open the other one for Adrien.

She dragged him into the room, Adrien giving her a skeptical glance. "Yeah, over here," she put her hands on his shoulders, moving him so his back faced the bathroom door.

"I just wanted to check if you were feeling okay?" Adrien asked nervously, "I know some girls were spiking some of the drinks at the dance-"

"Yeah, I do feel I bit strange, but I should be okay," Marinette rubbed her temples. "Want me to kiss it better?" he proposed as Marinette laughed. "I wish that would work," Marinette muttered, letting herself smile.

The prince let out a chuckle, Marinette wrapping her arms around his neck. Forgetting her main problem, Zoey burst out of the bathroom.

"Miss," Zoey said through gritted teeth. "There is a-a...problem. A big problem. I don't know how you want me to organize your makeup." Yeah, if only my problem with Luka could be covered up with make-up. Marinette thought to herself.

"Can't you just leave it as it is?" Marinette shot, "Leave the make-up where it is and can I deal with it later?" Good. Now we're using the codeword 'makeup' for 'Luka'. Marinette's mental back-talk continued.

"It seems like the makeup does not want to stay where it is," Zoey muttered, "it's not leaving or getting thrown out until you decide what you are keeping and giving away."

Marinette sighed. So, Adrien or Luka, Marinette. Make your decision now.

"I'm coming inside," Marinette breathed.

"I using this makeup since I was like 17," Marinette rubbed her temples. "SEVENTEEN?" Zoey asked, then the prince giving a confused glance. "Erm - no judgement," the prince finalized with a confused smile.

Marinette walked into the bathroom, locking the door as she did so.

"Okay," Marinette breathed. "How does he get out of here?"

Luka sighed, giving Marinette a sad glance. "The window, he could reach out and go onto your balcony until Adrien leaves," Zoey proposed.

"That's really dangerous-" "I'll do it," Luka spat, opening the window, "that makes me only want to do it more."

Marinette gripped onto his clothing; acting like her one arm could stop him from falling. "Quickly!" "I'm going as fast as I can," Luka spat, sitting on the edge of the window. Just then, Adrien burst into the room.

"So this is the 'makeup' you used." The prince spat.

"Adrien, please," Marinette begged, "I can explain everything."

"You know what's the worst thing Marinette," Adrien couldn't face her. "You got mad when I had to see other women when you were here two-timing me."

Marinette looked down.

"And Luka," the prince spat through gritted teeth. "No wonder you wanted me to get rid of Marinette. Trying to trick me like an insolent child."

Adrien sighed. "You guys are made for each other - you both hurt me deeply."

"Adrien-"

"How long had this been going on?" He interrupted. "I-"

"Answer, please," he shouted desperately.

"Most of the competition," Marinette mumbled.

"You lied to me, you tricked me, you made me fall in love," Adrien turned the other way.

"Kagami was right," Adrien looked down and walked away.

"Adrien, please, I need to talk to you. I promise-"

"How can I ever trust you again?" Adrien looked at her. "How?" He repeated louder, getting no response.

"I'm going now. You two enjoy your time together,"

"Marinette, I'm so-"

"What did he mean by 'get rid of Marinette'?" she looked at him. Luka looked down and sighed. "When you were conflicted with your feelings, he asked for my professional opinion if you should go or not," Luka remained calm.

"If I was so conflicted," Marinette looked down, clenching her fist. "Then why do I feel so sad, and why do I want to punch you in the face," Marinette grit her teeth as Luka stayed put. "I don't care if you hurt me, because," he paused.

"I still love you," Luka mumbled.

"You're an idiot! An absolute idiot!" Marinette cried. She wiped her tears, gasping for air. He extended his arms but she swat them both away. "Leave, don't let me see your face," she spat.

He gasped quietly but did what he was told. He had never seen Marinette so angry; it seemed to worry him. Zoey left as well, knowing that Marinette needed some alone time.

Marinette sat and cried, taking out the ladybug earrings, and throwing them onto the floor.

Luka POV

Luka walked through the hallway, looking for the Agreste prince. He found the prince, immediately tugging his collar.  "What the hell?" Adrien rubbed his neck. "

Agreste," he spat through gritted teeth.

"That's Marinette-" Luka pointed to the door.

"I know. And you're the cheating ex-boyfriend," Adrien shouted back. "Watch your mouth!" he slammed him against the wall.

You don't scare me, choir boy," Adrien straightened immediately.

"You made her cry!" Luka rubbed his temples, "The girl you loved so much, and I've never seen her so upset and angry - and you just left!"

"I understand that my time is over," Luka's glared directed at him, "but you do not deserve her!"

"She should have thought about that while you two had an affair. She two-timed me, if she really loved me, she wouldn't have been having. "And if you love her so much then she's right there. Go ahead," Adrien spat, jealously enlaced into his tone.

"I love her, but so do you. And so does she. She wants to be with you," Luka looked away.

"If she really did," Adrien started. "She would understand that everytime she said that I was 'just a friend' hurt like hell. Kagami would never do that. Kagami appreciates me, she loves me without any regret," Adrien finished.

"If Kagami is so special, then why are you hung up on Marinette? Why are you crying like a little boy over her?" Luka responded, getting angrier.

"I'm not crying," he shot back immediately. "She's made her choice! Marinette isn't even my friend! She made that clear when you guys were together!" Adrien shouted.

"And watch your mouth," Adrien reminded him. "I'm still the prince," he added.

"There you go, using your ego as an excuse to not confront me," Luka said as Adrien shoved him away.

"Guar-"

Adrien was in mid shout until someone put a hand over his mouth. "Both of you. Shut up," Zoey reminded them. "You are both acting like seven-year-old boys," Zoey shoved them apart. "It's time to grow up, and start acting like men."

"You both obviously are in love with Marinette. She is now in the bathroom, crying her eyes out, and you have nothing to do about her emotions because you two are too focused on how it impacts you,"

Adrien and Luka looked away from each other. "Just think about that," Zoey calmed down.

"You go, Luka," Adrien whispered.

"Adrien-"

"No! No, I know where I'm not wanted. She obviously would rather see you than me if she is still in love with you. It's better I know where I really stand," Adrien walked off as Zoey and Luka shared a look.

"Poor Adrien," Zoey walked back. Luka followed her as Zoey took out her fan. She lifted up his chin with it, giving him a nasty glare. "Never come back here where I can see you. You just took advantage of her when she was sad - get out of my sight!" she screamed.

Luka left as Zoey walked back to the bathroom. "Marinette, are you okay? I got the boys-" Zoey immediately cut herself off, looking around the room.

Marinette was nowhere to be found.

Hehe sorry for the cliffhanger! Next part coming out soon! Stay tuned ;)
