The very next morning
Around 06:30 hours

I descended down the lobby wearing the same black shirt Jungkook advised me to wear attached with the hidden nano cam. Taehyung already waited for me by the stairs.

"Good morning. Ready to go?"

"I am ready. Can't wait to see it, Tae."

On the way to the labs, Taehyung shared with me a number of memories of how him and Jimin used to run around all over Tokyo in search of a suitable spot where they could start their experimentation before they landed onto the outskirts. We talked about the drug for a while before reaching the place, situated with a couple number of small apartments where perhaps the scientists and workers lived in different divisions.

The exterior of the place didn't look exquisite, like a million dollar worth institute. It looked rather like a small and mundane factory, which was quite strategical. For sure, it's weak and boring structure didn't faze the robbers, so it did prevent against intrusion or thefts.

"Here we have reached. I know it doesn't look really fascinating but we have our own intentions, for safety purposes." Taehyung said as he helped me get out of the car.

"Hmm..."

"It does have a massive amount of space to work inside."

"Really! That's impressive. What are we waiting for then?!"

"Woah, woah you look so enthusiastic Lisa and I like it. It's pretty exciting for me too, let's get in!"

Like Jungkook had predicted, we were heavily scrutinized but luckily they couldn't detect the nano cam at all; we were in.

We walked past a long corridor before we were in front of a huge metal door, prolly the entrance into the main room. Taehyung put his thumb over the fingerprint sensor and swiped the card that hung down the sling around his neck, the doors automatically opened the moment that followed.

"This is our research room, mostly the technical centre where we collect data and statistics about the cancer cases, study and predict the effectiveness of the drug."

"Wow. How do you possibly predict that?"

"By understanding the cuisine and lifestyle around, you see most of the diseases in the recent times are due to the changes in our lifestyle." Taehyung replied.

"Its great! They look so busy around." I pointed around looking at a number of people dressed in laboratory coats, scanning data over giant screens that had geographical data on them. The setup did look very convincing but then again, I couldn't reason my doubt. At least not now.

"They are surely engaged! I must admit, they're the best hardworking team of coworkers in the world right here." Taehyung let out a brief chuff after which we proceeded ahead into an elevator. I could feel Taehyung's eyes on mine as we were pushed to the confined space as he admired me.

"Did I say that you look beautiful in this black shirt, Lisa?"

"You are late today, but....thanks." he chuckled at my reply.

"Off to this way." He guided me once we reached to the basement floor, heading towards a secretive compartment; guarded by equally massive steel bars. It was certain he was trying to protect something very serious here.

I noticed that this time along with the existing fingerprint sensor and ID identification system the doors were also secured by a passcode. So I discreetly went and stood adjacent to Taehyung, trying to flash the code hoping that Jungkook could easily note it down.

The doors open, leading us inside and the environment there described how exactly I had imagined: a spacious, slightly bigger space and little darker, smell of disinfecting air dallied around. Some people were inspecting huge tanks while others were attending different stations.

I looked around, pretending to be curious, however I was just making sure that Guk was noting the security cameras around.

"Here, this way." Taehyung and I went to a restricted station, marked danger, perhaps this was where the drug was being tested and manufactured.

"How many people would be working here exactly?" I asked.

"Uhm around 150 in total including the security, however the labs have only 5 to 6 people."

"This place is hugely great!"

"You are the first person to ever be here after Jimin and I, Lisa. I wasn't ready at first, but I trust you which is why I'm so excited to show you my life's creation. You see, it's like my baby after all." Taehyung said, his eyes softening as he led me into a well secured room.

I swear I would've died out of humiliation at that moment for having been lying to him since day 1. But somehow, if this drug turned out to be harmless and I could clear Taehyung's name, proving him innocentㅡ I guess that's would make up for the justification of this charade.

He went over a certain shelf on the only bookshelf in that small room. I bet the only purpose of the bookshelf was to hide the build in wall safe. I made sure to take a clear view of the passcode again, before the safe opened and he invited me over.

"Come, take a look at this." He handed me a small glass bottle in which the drug was. I couldn't believe it; I was actually holding it in my hands.

"Careful." He said, laughing nervously.

The bottle was specifically marked "#136" which got me curious.

"What does the number mean?"

"Oh, Jimin got the first efficient sample at his 136th try."

"That must've required a ton of patience, isn't it?" "Yes." He answered, scratching his nape.

I wasn't sure if I did trust Taehyung as much as he did. Because, if this was a weapon, he could still try to make the world a better place with it. I never knew what was running in his mind, but I wanted to assure myself that this is a blessing, something which would bring about a revolutionary impact in the world history.

"It's beautiful, Tae. I'm sure and I really hope, people will recognize your vision someday."

The same night
23:30 hours

Jungkook and Yeri were already in my room as we started preparing ourselves for the heist. The two had studied the security systems with help of the nano cam and were able to come up with a plan to intrude into the labs. Jungkook had retrieved Taehyung's fingerprints from the police databases long back and since we were going to use a virus as a paralyzing agent to disarm the surveillance mechanism, the security card didn't make up for the plan. Also, Jungkook made sure he remembered the passcodes to the safe where the drug was secured and Yeri confirmed the network pathway along which we could easily reach the safe room.

We were just going through all the necessary measures but knowing Taehyung quite well, there might be certain uncertainties we might not know about. But one thing was certain, we could pull it off if everything went well and we were careful throughout.

"Okay, I estimate that if everything goes according to the plan without an interference we can easily complete this within 15 minutes. Whilst Yeri and I handle the guards, Jungkook, you will disarm the security procedures and take care of the technical aspects as we get in. Clear?"

"You got it, ma'am. Also, are we supposed to kill the guards on spot so that they won't trigger the alarms manually?" Yeri asked.

"No, not necessary. We'll knock them unconscious instead. Also Sehun said he'll be waiting with the helicopter in the front so we have to pass through this real smooth." I replied, but Yeri deadpanned the idea.

"You think this would work, boss?"

"Ms Yeri, if you can't support the teamwork and accept the fact that I'm your superior, please do us a favor and stay back."

"Fine, fine. I'm sorry." She rolled her eyes, as if she never meant that sorry anyway.

"Great. Now that we're done talking, please go out and check the requirements again. I have something to discuss with Guk."

She nodded and waited outside, leaving Jungkook and me alone in the room. He held my hand.

"Your hands are freezing Lisa, are you okay?" He worriedly asked, making sure I was ready for the mission.

"I have to be." I sighed. "But I want you to keep a watch over Yeri, she could sabotage us. She doesn't seem trustworthy."

"I know, I don't trust her too, but Sehun has blind faith on her capabilities which we might need tonight. But don't worry, I'll monitor. And Lali?"

"Yes?"

"Be careful." He gave a gentle press to my palms as I nodded.

"You too, Guk."

In a matter of seconds, the guards dropped down unconscious. Precisely the entire area was mapped and the situation was under our control.

We loaded our guns with sedative drugs which once shot took effect on the entire body.

As predicted, the guards weren't used to this kind of breaking in, because their reaction time was too slow and they couldn't defend themselves well.

Within a span of just a few minutes, we were already into the operating area, heading into the toughest security system to be breached.

The lab was free from guards and the workers had left, leaving the three of us free to invade in. The safe room would be fairly easy and this could be quickly sorted out.

"See the room behind over there? That's where the drug is kept. Yeri, you take position on the entrance and watch out for guards. Jungkook, I need the password."

"Alright, its 061330121310. You memorized it?"

A/N: can y'all guess the pattern of the digits? It's related to some BTS days ;)

"Yes, I got it...I'll be back in a minute."

"Here, take this gear and the paralysis virus you might need to disarm the system inside. Good luck."

"Thank you."

I immediately entered the room, the surveillance collapsed the very moment I introduced the virus. It was Jungkook who prepared it after all, it perfectly helped in the program execution.

Setting up the gear for the fingerprint identification was the toughest part, perhaps the most time consuming too. After that was done, I slid the bookshelf across the floor, revealing the safe.

When suddenly, I heard some alarms go off outside.

Apparently some of the guards had made their way into the labs, trying to attack Yeri who stood right in front of the entrance. Underestimating the poor security systems, she shot the guards right there, but her weak precision accidentally hit one of the fire alarms hanging on the ceiling.

I had thought of running out, but escaping with the drug was the priority. Almost immediately I ran back again, unlocked the safe with the passcode and grabbed the drug safely, running out.

"Darn! We forgot to disarm the fire arm!" I heard Jungkook coughing, the smoke had completely filled the lab.

"We need to hurry up, Lisa!"

"I'm here, I got it! Let's leave!!"

We somehow managed to escape the guards, towards the first entrance where the helicopter waited and lowered the rope ladder.

Rushing on to grave the rope ladder, Yeri climbed in followed by Jungkook. Feeling a little dizzy from the smoke, I tried my best to run towards them, blue lights and police sirens approaching us.

Jungkook climbed halfway to check if I was behind him and called out to me.

"Lisa! Come on!!"

The sound of the explosions were roaring from inside the labs, I had to relieve myself before getting in.

Oh dear, how I wish I hadn't taken that extra second.

Because then, I wouldn't have noticed him standing there, watching me 30 feet apart from me.

My heart started pounding in my chest, even louder than the sirens. For a moment I compeletly forgot I was on a mission to save the world from a catastrophe ㅡ because the look on his face, I could never forget that.

It was a look of horror, of pure betrayal. And it left devastated, it broke my heart into millions of pieces.

"GET IN LISA!!" Jungkook voiced out again, as I grabbed the rope and climbed in.

Taehyung would've easily reached me in a matter of seconds if he wanted to. But no, he stood there, in shock, paralyzed and in utter disbelief of what scene he was witnessing here.

Jungkook pulled me in and we escaped just in time, before the police and firefighters could make their way.

I kept praying in my head and all of my heart, that Taehyung was a bad guy ㅡ so that at least it would make me feel less guilty, forget the horror printed in his face, help me move on from him.

But I had to wait until Sehun and his team of scientists would perform tests and show us proof of their results.

If found guilty, Taehyung would be charged, he'll go to jail, his corporation will close down for good. The drugs I'll be destroyed as if it never existed.

But if, he was innocent, maybe I could try to explain, though he'll throw me out of his life, cuss, ask me to disappear, forget about everything we had....

If he did turn out to be good, the government will understand, we work for it after all. Perhaps impose a penalty upon us but at least we will be safe from the police.

If he was really a good man, I would have to live my whole life, regretting how I betrayed his trust, betrayed him ㅡ Kim Taehyung, my last target. The target, who I had genuinely cared for.

I still couldn't believe thsi was over. Disaster avoided. World saved.

Mission Accomplished.
