Two weeks.
Two weeks had passed to this incident.
The breakup of South Korea's most eligible bachelor and the top actress and supermodel made it to the headlines. All of this, in span of a night.
Just a bit of intoxication, that affected their lives and I felt extremely guilty about it.
I had been ignoring both Jungkook and Taehyung all this while. I wanted to give Taehyung some personal space, he needed it. He was suffering a breakup and it would be a sin if I intrude into his private space, even if I meant no harm and wanted to console him.
While Jungkook? I don't know. I wasn't still over with the fact that he was in the arms of another woman just the night after he had convinced me everything would be fine. I'm you and you're me; the lines once I was proud of, was now more like an embarrassment.
He would try calling me too, but I being thick headed, would always ignore his phone calls. I left his messages on seen and whenever he would text that he's coming to visit me I would turn him down by the excuse of exhaustion or fever.
He couldn't understand why I was doing this. Neither did I. At this point, nothing seemed like pretense.
I was starting to get real feelings for Jungkook. Something that I hated to believe and wanted to get rid of.
Today was finally the day I had made up my mind to meet Taehyung. I called Tzuyu to know about his schedule and when I can meet him and she immediately gave me the afternoon time, just an hour prior to the lunch hour.
Now it was time to take the mission to the next stage, where Taehyung had to forget Sana and become mine.
An hour later.
Reception area, Vantae Corp.
"How is he?" I greeted Tzuyu and bit my lip as asked her about Taehyung.
"He hasn't been eating lunch. He has lost quite an amount of weight, something I wouldn't be proud of." Tzuyu shrugged her shoulders with a sigh.
"Hmm...you tried to talk to him?"
"Err...no. He spends most of the time in office alone even after working hours are over. I heard from the guard yesterday that he is usually the last one to leave the place, mostly around midnight or even past midnight. I didn't want to intrude into his matters because we share just a boss-employee relationship and nothing more."
I could see the genuine sadness Tzuyu had in her eyes. She tried her best to hide those feelings by looking down to her feet but I knew seeing Taehyung in this state was not acceptable to her.
"Ah I see...."
"He might be expecting you. You should go in." Tzuyu held my hands in concern and nodded, before getting seated at her desk and starting off with her work.
"May I enter Taehyung ssi?" I knocked on the glass entrance of his huge cabin.
"Oh Lisa...didn't we say we were going to drop the honorifics? Come in." He lifted his head from the documents and got up from his desk to greet me.
"So....how have you been?"
"I'm....doing okay I guess. At least I now know whom to trust. Sometimes the most precious people in our lives play with our hearts. I guess that's what I'm facing now."
Taehyung sighed, while I passed him a helpless look. I knew someday I would be the next person to break his trust.
"I'm sorry Taehyung...I shouldn't have come up with this party idea. It's all because of me. I didn't even know why I was hoping when clearly Jungkook and I wouldn't have worked out together."
Taehyung placed his hands on my shoulder and I lifted my head to look at his calmly pleasant face. If I were able to stare his face the whole day, I would love to do that.
His God-like appearance and the boxy smile that adorned his face was far more worth than precious jewels in the world.
"Don't be sorry Lisa-yah. It wasn't only Jungkook, but Sana too who was at fault. I'm glad I found out about this before the wedding. What brings you here though?"
"Do I need to make an appointment to meet you? I just came by to know how you were keeping up with this...but hey. Taehyung you look overworked and stressed. You aren't eating well, are you?" I narrowed my eyes and dramatically eyed him and he chuckled.
"So tell me what shall I do?"
"A break. You need a break Taehyung."
Taehyung furrowed his brows and resting his thumb under his chin as he went into a deep thought. He hummed before answering,"I don't have enough time to afford a vacation now. My schedule is tight for the week. I have meetings to make, deals to sign, check out how the production is going on in the labs-"
"But I never asked you to book yourself a vacation Tae. Just this weekend. Loosen up. There's already a lot going on and you can't keep going on like that." I placed a hand on his shoulder and gently patted him.
"And if it seems boring to be alone, then I'm here to give you company!" I cheered.
"So you're asking me out on a date?" Taehyung eyed me with a smirk, and I felt my cheeks heat up.
"Yah, just a friendly date you can call. Two friends hanging out, talking nonsense, enjoying each other's presence and getting to know each other more. What do you say?"
"Sounds good." He nodded in affirmation.
▪︎
The following Saturday.
I was on my way to Taehyung's mansion. I drove up the highway, excited and nervous the same time. This was the first time I was going to see his house. I knew he was wealthy, which reflected well in his residence as well. His house was majestic yet elegant and simple in design.
He lived alone by himself. The look inside was breathtaking. His house threw a lot of artistic vibes. And there he was - by the kitchen counter, deeply focused into a recipe book. Dressed in Gucci casuals - screaming boyfriend material.
"What's poppin chef Vantae?" I waved at him and he smiled.
"Hi Lisa! I didn't realize you were already here, you're early and I'm not done cooking yet." He scratched his forehead without realizing some flour had smudged on his face. He only took notice of it when I snickered. He looked cute.
"Oh, I'll just clean up and be right back in a minute, later I'll give you a hug."
"Sure thing!"

Sometime later.
"What are you doing in the kitchen Lisa? I'm so embarrassed, it's in a mess."
"I was taking a look at your culinary skills. I am a terrible cook. Maybe you could give me some tips so that I will not burn the kitchen next time."
"I ain't much of a great cook, but I wanted to make sure to treat you good since it's your first time here and I didn't want you to regret."
"So here's roasted salmon and fried chicken....and oh! Have a look at these mini hamburgers!" He squished one of them and I giggled at his goofiness.
"Aww, I'm so touched, you already prepared so much for me! Let's get on with it, I even got some champagne to compliment the dinner!"I cheered.
After dinner and a little tour around the house we headed to the pool table.
"So, how good are you in playing pool?"
I thoughts for a moment. Most of my targets were wealthy businessmen, so obviously I was well trained in playing billiards and games like these. However, the ground rule of seduction says that it is always wise to let a man win any game you play. Why? Because men have only two goals in life they love to boast about. One is reproducing and other is impressing women.
Seems like I'm kidding, but I'm not.
So ofcourse, I decided to give in and let him win.
"Let's say I'm not that good. Maybe you could help me improve some skills Mr Taehyung?" I scratched my nape as I seductively stared into his eyes.
He looked into my eyes, flustered. "Sure Miss Lisa. I could teach you some tricks."
I pretended to show pretended admiration whenever he scored a point against me. I tried my best to look confused and kept asking him certain questions like how to hold the cue and aim correctly and he seemed to enjoy it.
Being a gentleman he would casually walk over and explain it to me, sometimes placing his hand over mine to adjust my hand to shoot.
I thanked him for his "advice" and also praised him for being a great tutor. Like I said, he was proudly smiling.
The proximity between us always made me blush and he smiled to his feet.
"Just a few more tutor sessions later, you'd be a pro in playing pool in no time!" Taehyung clapped.
I let out a gleeful laugh too, before returning back to silence. We stood for a moment and stared at each other - as if we were drawn to each other and this was the only thing we wished to do. We were both slightly blushing too. I bit my lip and looked down to my feet, avoiding the eye contact in the hope that he would make the first move.
But before he could do so, the doorbell rang.
"Are you expecting someone?"
"No...I had cleared off today's schedule for you, I have no idea who it is."
Taehyung opened the door to find a feminine figure leaning against the door. She immediately walked inside the house past Taehyung.
"Sana! What are you doing here?" Taehyung was shocked, so was I.
I should give it to her, she was persistent.
"Shouldn't I be the one asking that? What is she doing here?!" Sana glared at me with narrowed eyes while I just awkwardly stood beside Taehyung.
She then broke down into a bitter laugh.
"Wow Kim Taehyung. What a standard you have. Already fucking her? Never expected you'd be such a pig. And oh well....how does it feel to lay hands on someone else's property? I knew you were that bitch who steals boyfriends. You just proved me right!"
"Now that's enough of your nonsense Sana. Lisa is my friend and because of your mistake, we're over. You don't have any rights to walk over to my house and harass Lisa like that. It's none of your business!"
Sana suddenly got teary eyed. She started weeping. I could see Taehyung's eyes soften at this, but he knew he couldn't comfort her now. They were over, they had ended all sorts of relations they had.
"I had just come over so that...so that we could work things out. In a hope that we get married, have children, live happily...like we planned."
"All those plans might've worked well before you chose to cheat on me." Taehyung said in a much lower tone.
"IT WAS A DAMN MISTAKE! DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND!! SHE WANTED YOU ALL BY HERSELF AND I WAS DRUNK. DON'T YOU SEE THAT!"
"Sana, I won't repeat myself. Get out."
"Very well. Then fuck you both. Especially you nasty bitch." She showed me the middle finger and stomped off in anger.
"I-I'm sorry T-Taehyung..." I started the conversation to break the awkwardness.
"You said you got champagne right? Let's go have a drink." He heavily sighed and went towards the kitchen. It was a sight painful to watch. But I had to push these thoughts aside. My job was to win Taehyung's heart, I shouldn't waste anymore time into this.
A while later~
"What did she say? I'm a pig! She doesn't even deserve me!!" Taehyung was drunk again, after having a few glasses of champagne followed by wine. He was celebrating his post breakup meltdown by dancing weird moves and uttering meaningless words.
"She dares to be here when I'm with you! The audacity!!"
"L-listen T-Taehyung...I guess its better if we sit down and talk about this." I pleaded, though he shoved my hand away and continued to dance.
"We did argue over things...not to a point where we'll part ways. Like this. She was my first love, Lisa. Maybe I should call her again and clear misunderstandings."
"No, Tae hear me out. The feeling of first love is always special. Maybe it's just an indication that you haven't met your soulmate yet? You can share your pain with me, I'm there to help you."
"Lisa, I think you're so humble and kind. All these years, I finally found someone who could understand me, be with me through tough times. And you're beautiful!"
"Uh....thanks I guess?" I blushed. I knew he was drunk and it was natural for these words to come out. But what he said next was incomparable.
"No! You don't believe me but I am being honest Lisa." He whined. He later gulped in and which made way for a few hiccups to break in. A moment later, he looked me into my eyes as he said,
"Lisa, I want to kiss you."
