The next evening.

I went out for a jog to think of the next and final plan of splitting Taehyung and Sana for good. Based on the previous data that Jungkook and I had collected, Taehyung wasn't much of a social person while Sana was completely the opposite.

Taehyung normally wasn't fond of partying, but Sana had introduced him to night outs. Maybe we could convince them for going out with us and then spike their drinks? That way we could make them drunk and lose control of their inhibitions. 

Adding up, we could pretend none of this was meant to happen, so all of this act looks believable. I'm not sure of how well this plan would work, but if this can make Taehyung doubt his future with Sana, so be it. Essentially Jungkook could also make his way on Sana and distract her so that I could make a move on Taehyung.

When I returned back into the suite, I found Jungkook talking over to someone on phone. He saw me coming and handed over the phone to me - the bright screen flashed with the caller's name, Taehyung.

After bidding a goodbye, he dropped over the bed with a little sigh. I passed him a questioning look.

"Seems like Taehyung opened to you a lot more in these days." I let my hair down and tied it up in a bun.

"You envy that?"

"No, why should I? Maybe I should tell Sehun to give you the responsibility to lure Taehyung instead. Taekook seems like a nice ship indeed."

"Y-you're unbelievable." Jungkook sat up straight, gawking widely at my remark. He was short of words, his expression was priceless.

"You didn't get the joke? I can be funny too at times, Jungkook." I snickered and patted his shoulder.

"You didn't seem like you were joking, though."

"Anyway, what did you talk about?"

"Taehyung and Sana have invited us for dinner. He said Sana has an appearance to make in the Paris fashion week the next week so they'll be leaving for Korea by dawn."

"Which means we have only the span of tonight to create a scene and split them up?"

"Precisely." He nodded.

"Perfect!" I tossed my palms in excitement.

"I see you have thought of something. Care to share?"

"Ofcourse. Since we can't afford to mess up tonight, we have to get things moving. First we have to convince them to go out with us."

"Hmm....and then?"

"You will spike their drinks. Just a tiny amount of viagra is enough because we want them to remember if they did something stupid."

"Its the obvious doubt in their relationship we need to create in their minds. Next step?" Guk folded his arms, nodding at my idea.

"Divide and conquer. Try and seek some alone time with Sana tonight, because I won't be able to seduce Taehyung with her giving me death stares like a hawk." I face palmed as I expressed.

Jungkook took my hand in his and lifted my head to face him.

"I'll distract her. Game on!"

"Hwaiting." We said in unison.

"Am I the only one who's up for some drinks after having a hefty meal?" I said as we headed out after having dinner at the restaurant.

"Uh...Lisa-yah, didn't Jeongguk ssi tell you that we have an early flight tomorrow because of certain change of plans? I'm not sure we'd be able to wake up early if we stay up late." Taehyung protested.

"He did tell me about the change in your schedule but this is the only time we can call a vacation! Don't you think we should enjoy this moment of togetherness?" I tried to convince him.

"I'm in! It's always a thrill to explore nightlife with friends. What about you guys?" Jungkook added in.

"Omg, you do! Taetae is very quiet and doesn't like partying a lot. But I'm like the life of every party I go!! Let's go babe!" Sana said in cheerful enthusiasm, which looked more like an attempt to impress Jungkook.

"Please babe, come on. Don't be like that." She held onto Taehyung's blazer, her hand wrapped around his left arm as she jumped like a baby to persuade him.

Finally giving up, he sighed at his defeat. "Okay, okay. A night out with friends is a good stress reliever and I dont want to be a party boomer. Where to next?"

We arrived at a heavily packed night club, but since we were here with the great Kim Taehyung himself, we easily managed to book ourselves a VIP booth with a comparatively small crowd of rich individuals.

Once we were settled, it was time to initiate the plan. I patted once on Jungkook's arm and he got the gesture.

"The first round of drinks is on me! What do you guys want?"

[A/N: imagine names of any club drink that comes to your mind, I'm out of ideas at this point ): ]

Things were proceeding exactly like what was planned. Jungkook had bought the drinks and would drug them. We would keep drugging them little by little to avoid an overdose at the same time getting them intoxicated - just as how we want them to be.

A few moments later, Jungkook returned back and handed over the drinks to us and as we took a sip of our own drink, we eagerly eyed them as they took their first sip.

"This is all I needed! This is the best time indeed!!" Sana exclaimed as she gulped the drink in one go.

Just you wait till this moment becomes your worst, bitch.

The effect of alcohol was working on all of us. I myself could feel a bit tipsy and I could see Jungkook was too. It didn't matter to me, because it just helped in making things more realistic.

I purposely danced close to Taehyung, accidentally falling into his arms quite a couple of times by an excuse of being pushed by someone. Cheesy line but trust me, still works.

I could see Taehyung was getting tired while Sana was still high and energetic. Jungkook noticed it too, so he gestured me that he'll stay with Sana on the dance floor while I take Taehyung with me.

"You guys look tired, you should take a break now. We'll dance some more."

So we sat on our booked couches, our backs were facing Sana so she couldn't easily identify us. The loud music and intoxicating atmosphere got us close, and we were seated in close proximity between us.

"Lisa, there's something I've been wanting to tell you....I just dont know how you'd react to it.... but, I don't really see you as a colleague anymore."

I felt a gush of anxiety throughout my body. Does it mean he doesn't see me someone close to him? Have I failed to lure him? Am I getting dropped from the mission? Will Taekook take over Taelice-

My introspection was brought to a halt when Taehyung held both of my hands in his large ones.

"I see you even more....you're not just a sponsor nor a mere colleague, but a great friend Lisa!"

I breathed a sigh of relief. And my lips curved into a smirk.

"Are you drunk, is that why you're saying these things?"

"Well....maybe. But this probably is something I would've said back when I was sober too...but I'm not sure if I'd be confident enough."

"You guys having a fun time here? I just came by to inform that Sana got a little too high." Jungkook neared us and volunteered to take Sana back.

"I guess we should return back now. It's already too late." Taehyung argued, but Guk defended back.

"You shouldn't disrupt your conversation in middle right? I'll make sure Sana safely reaches the room. See you guys soon!"

Jungkook blinked twice at me before turning back, as if saying this was the moment.

I nodded back, letting him know that I was ready for this.

"Taehyung, please don't take me in a wrong way, though I've wanted to ask you." I bit my lip

"Hmm...what is it?"

"D-do y-you love Sana ssi?"

He suddenly went silent. He first looked down, then looked at me and let out a depressed sigh.

"I...I am not so sure if I can answer you Lisa...we were so much deep in love before, though these past months have been...rough. We don't seem to be confiding in each other anymore. But the years of us being together is what that always stops me from breaking away from her."

"I'm so sorry Taehyung, I didn't mean to-"

"No, don't be, Lisa. I'm happy you're with Jeongguk ssi now. He's a good guy. At least one of us gets to be in a happy relationship."

"I'm afraid that might not be the case you're thinking of, Taehyung."

"Why? What do you mean?"

"I honestly don't think we'll work out for long. Our lifestyles are just so...different."

Jungkook and I aren't different at all. But I had to create a perception of doubt in my relationship so that Taehyung would know he still stands a chance with me.

"I don't mean to shade, but I knew you deserved better from the very first time I met her. Your concerns are different, aren't they?"

"You're right. The ideal woman I want is someone who is confident, independent and beautiful. Someone....like you."

He inched closer to me and his eyes were locked to my lips.

"There's something special about you which is intriguing, Lisa-yah." He whispered into my ears in the deep voice of his.

He was just an inch away from my face. I waited for him to make the move. He did learn in to kiss me, but....

He pulled away.

"I-I can't....I can't do this to Sana."

"I can't cheat on her."

He got up and left the booth and I trailed behind.

I had never felt this humiliated before, never felt so guilty of failing a mission. I always managed to seduce my targets well, Taehyung was my first and only exception.

I couldn't split them....

Jungkook did.

Things dramatically changed the next day. Sana was continuously crying as she explained the events of the past night. She showed him a letter that Jungkook wrote before leaving the hotel (and the city) because he regretted the night and wasn't sure if he could face me or Taehyung again.

"It....was a mistake, Taehyung. I-I was n-not in my senses when I did it...I'm s-sorry."

"DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT YOU DID? YOU CHEATED SANA! YOU RUINED EVERYTHING BETWEEN US!! I can't believe you would do this to me."

Taehyung yelled at Sana while she kept sobbing. His voice cracked and his emotions were breaking away, the pain in his voice stung in my heart. I have never felt this guilty of splitting a couple before.

Taehyung was furious, while I....

I was heartbroken.

I didn't see Guk ever since the events of last night, he really did leave early. He texted me saying the job was done and I would be able to see the drama the next day, but I was already hurting.

Do you know the feeling that comes crashing down when you see your crush with someone else? I felt the same. It broke my heart knowing that Jungkook slept with Sana.

I know, I was being irrational because this was the part of the plan and we succeeded in breaking the "power couple" of the media.

But the fact that they slept just reminded me of the night when we kissed, the night when he stayed by my side and pacified me when I broke into a blackout, when he promised me that he would stay committed to me.

I know I shouldn't have let him get attached to me. We weren't dating; but I was already feeling cheated. I didn't even have to act.

I had to focus on the mission. I couldn't be grieving on such a petty thing. I had to know what was going inside those labs in Japan. I needed to know what Taehyung was upto.

I needed to know....not because he might be developing something catastrophic, but because I don't think he is a person with bad intentions. I dont believe he would hurt anyone.

The mission had successfully escalated into the next stage. Here was the part where I had to get Taehyung to trust me. Trust me enough so that he could lead me into those labs in Japan. I had to be his friend through this breakup trauma he would be grieving from and get him close to me.

And for this, I had to stay focused. I had to dedicate all my time to Taehyung. I had to put aside whatever I had for Guk. I had to maintain a distance from him.

But what if I didn't want to break away from him?

Okay Lalisa, it's high time you should know that you need to finish the mission, without falling into a web of feelings. I have to get Taehyung for myself, get past the second base. The most important part of the mission.

Also if you thought I'm on a hiatus since I didn't update for maybe six days, I'm sorry about it. I had to delay the updates because my term exams were scheduled this week and they got over just yesterday so I finally had time to write.

I'll try to post more chapters by the weekend, the next few chapters will contain the important details and the running theme of the story.
