Jessica's POV

Today is the day I've been looking forward to since moving to Stockton, the second location of Moonlight Boutique is finally opening, after all of the hard work that has been put into this spot.

Walking into the store, I see Cara and Danielle standing behind the counter with smiles on their faces.

When looking for someone to hire, Cara and Danielle stood out to me. They were both so bubbly, happy, and helpful. Even if we weren't open, they were here even when they didn't need to be, helping me do whatever I needed to do to get the store open faster.

A few hours after opening, the store has a steady flow of people coming in and out, everyone leaving with at least one item.

As I'm walking around the store helping out whoever I can, when a familiar head of blonde hair walks through the front door, a bundle of sunflowers in his hands.

"Well hey there" I say, walking up to him.

Jax looks over in our direction, a smile growing on his face when our eyes meet.

"Well hey there darlin, this place looks busy" he greets.

"I wouldn't have been able to finish it if it wasn't for you. You helped me for the last week getting everything set up" I respond.

Jax lets out a chuckle, before wrapping an arm around my waist and kissing the top of my head.

"You did this by yourself, I just followed your instructions" he tells me.

"Well still, I wouldn't have finished anything around here" I tell him.

"How long do you have to be here today? I want to take you out to celebrate the opening" Jax asks.

I look around seeing the amount of people in the store dwindle down, only a few people shopping around.

"I should be good to go here in a bit, what did you have in mind?" I question.

"That's for me to know, and you to find out. Finish up what you have to do so we can get out of here" he tells me.

I give him a nod, before walking over to the counter where Cara is standing helping a customer. As soon as the customer she helped walks away, Cara turns to me with a smirk on her face.

"That man is beyond in love with you Jess" Cara tells me.

I roll my eyes at her, letting out a small chuckle.

"There's no way he can be in love with me, besides we just met. It's a little too early to be in love with someone" I explain.

Cara rolls her eyes at me, before grabbing my hand and pulling me to where I'm standing side by side with her. Cara turns me slightly and points to the other side of the room where I see Jax leaned against the wall, his arms crossed over his chest as he looks around the room.

What catches my eye is the fact that his eyes haven't left me, and whatever I'm doing.

"See, he's in love with you, even if you don't want to admit it. Go, Dani and I got it here" Cara whispers before walking to help a customer who just walked up to the counter.

Jax's POV

30 minutes later, I spot Jessica walking towards me with her bags in her hands, and a proud smile on her face. You can tell she's in her element when she's working, she looks happy and carefree.

"Cara and Dani are good to go, Cara practically pushed me out the door" she tells me.

I give her a nod, before grabbing her hand and intertwining our fingers.

I'm not this kind of guy. I'm normally the kind of guy to go on dates, to fall for a girl. I haven't felt like this towards a girl since I was with my ex-girlfriend in high school, but there's something about Jessica that draws me in, something that makes me want to be a better man than I have been.

"What to tell me where we are going?" She questions as the two of us walk from the store towards where my bike is parked next to her Jeep.

Stopping at my bike, I grabbed the extra helmet I grabbed and hold it out to her.

"Do you trust me?" I question.

Jessica looks between the helmet and me, before nodding her head slightly.

"I do trust you" she responds.

I give her a smile, before helping her with the helmet, as well as helping her on to the bike. Getting on in front of her, I talk her through the basics of riding on the bike before starting it up.

The two of us ride through town, Jessica holding on to me tightly with every turn.

After getting to know her more over the past few weeks, I learned that she had never been on a bike before, and I had made it my goal to get her on one sooner or later.

After stopping to grab some takeout at one of my favorite take out restaurants nearby, I took her to one of my favorite cliffs nearby that looks over the city.

I get off the bike, helping Jessica off, before the two of us walk over to one of the picnic tables nearby.

"Thank you for all of this Jax" Jessica tells me, looking out at the view from the table.

"You deserve a break after everything you've done this past week, getting everything ready for the store opening" I tell her.

After eating our dinner and sharing a few laughs, Jessica and I sit in silence looking down at the city below us.

I look between Jessica and the city, a smile on my face looking over at her.

Growing up, all I wanted to do was wear the president's patch that was on my dad's kutte, I wanted to follow in his footsteps and change the direction the club was heading towards.

Now, all I want is to get out, get out and start a life outside of the club, a life with Jessica.

"Jess" I say, catching her attention.

Jessica looks over at me, a smile on her face as our eyes meet.

"I really want to kiss you right now" I admit.

Even though we are sitting in the dark, I can see the small blush on her cheeks.

"I kind of want you to kiss me" she admits.

I slowly stand up from the table, before walking over to the side of the table that Jessica is sitting on. I slide myself between her legs and tunnel my fingers through her hair gently before tipping her head upwards to face mind.

"I hope you know that once I kiss you, there is no getting rid of me. If I kiss you, you will be stuck with me for good" I tell her.

Jessica gives me a small smile, before nodding her head slightly.

"I think I'm okay with that" she responds.

I look in her eyes, seeing no hesitation there, before lowering my head down, my lips meeting hers gently.

Once our lips meet, I know I'm a goner.

Jessica's hands lay on my wrists, keeping me in place as our lips move together softly. Pulling away slightly, I rest my forehead against hers, staring deeply into her green eyes.

"It's going to be a wild ride baby, you in for it?" I question.

Jessica chuckles, before pecking me once more.

"I'm along for the ride" she responds.
