Jax's POV
You know those days when you wake up knowing that everything is going to change?
Today is one of those days.
Our plan is in full motion as of an hour ago.
I watched as mom and Clay both left the clubhouse in a hurry, not taking anyone else with them just like we had hoped for. Opie and I left a few minutes after them so that we are far enough away that they don't suspect anyone is following them, but close enough that we are arriving shortly after them.
Parking our bikes outside of the empty warehouse, I look over at Opie who gives me a comforting nod.
The two of us walked into the warehouse seeing my mom, Clay, Angel, and Marcus standing in the center of the room talking.
At the sound of the doors, everyone's attention turns to us.
"What the fuck are you two doing here?" Clay asks, looking between the two of us, and the two Mayans.
Hearing the door shut behind us, I light up a cigarette leaning against the now closed door.
"Just went out for a ride, saw the car out here and wanted to make sure everything was okay. What's going on here? Seems as if you're handling club business without your club Clay" I respond, shrugging my shoulders at him.
"You need to leave Jax, you're not needed here, neither of you are. This is between the four of us" mom adds, giving me a sneer.
"That is where I think your wrong mother. I'm just as much a part of this little meeting as you are. Hell, I'm more involved in it than you are unknown to the two of you of course" I tell her.
Opie and I walk towards them, stopping on each side of Angel and Marcus.
"While you might have thought you were in control of this situation, you were not. I was. See, what you might not have been clued in on was the fact that Jessica has a long-standing friendship with the Mayan's, one that makes her apart of the club by default. So, while you thought you were going behind my back and attempting to kill off the woman that I love, I was doing everything I needed to do to make sure that her and your grandchild were as safe as possible. You two lost whatever game you were playing" I tell her.
I watch as she pales, taking in each of my words as they are spoken. She grabs onto Clay knowing what was coming, knowing what their joined fate is.
Angel's phone ringing has him walking off to the side while I stare at the two of them, watching as my mothers expression goes from shocked, to the verge of tears.
"I am the president of this club, so while you think whatever plan you might have will work, it won't. You will have a giant target on your back as soon as you go through with whatever idiotic plan you may have" Clay exclaims, his face turning red with anger.
"Oh, that has already been thought out. No one is going to come after me and my family so you can get that thought out of your head right now. That cop out isn't going to save you this time." I respond, before looking over at my mother.
"You got anything you want to say?" I ask her.
She looks down, before looking up at me, tears brimming in her eyes.
"I did what I thought I had to do; I did what I thought was right. You were losing sight of the big picture, you were stepping away from the club, and I will not apologize for doing what I thought was right to maintain your legacy. That girl isn't right for you. I mean look what she has done to our family" she tells me.
Angel walks back over to us, a concerned look on his face.
"Her water broke, so whatever you plan on doing, let's move it along. You're going to be a dad by the end of the day" Angel states, giving me a smile.
"Jax don't do whatever you have in your head. Let us sit down and talk this all out, we can fit it baby" Gemma pleads.
However, whatever plea she had left in her was stopped with the sound of a trigger being pulled, followed by another one shortly after.
Jessica's POV
Squeezing my mom's hand as I feel another contraction rip through my body.
How ironic is it that the day Jax had been planning out for months is the day his daughter is going to be born, it's almost funny.
However, this pain is not.
Seeing as how I was locked in a safe house until we got the all clear, I was having to do this without pain medicine. Luckily, we are able to have a doctor here to make sure that everything goes how it should.
"You are doing so well honey, Jax will be here soon" my mom tells me, running a wet wash cloth over my head, attempting to keep me cooled down.
A few hours later, I'm being told it's time to push. However, there is one person that still isn't here.
"I'm not doing this without him, I don't know how many times I have to tell you this" I exclaim, pushing through another contraction.
My mom and the doctor share a look, before turning to me, concerned looks spread across both of their faces.
"Honey, I know you don't want to do this without him, but I don't think she's going to wait much longer. She's ready to come out, and there is nothing we can do to stop her" my mom tells me, pushing the sweaty hair out of my face.
I give them both a nod, "I guess we can't stop it" I tell them.
The two of them move around me, getting me into position, and getting the things ready for the baby.
As soon as I'm about to push, the door to the room flies open.
Jax looks over at me, a relieved smile on his face.
"She's not here yet, is she?" He questions, closing the door behind him.
"You're just in time Jax, come over here" my mom responds, motioning him to the other side of my head.
Jax kisses the top of my head, before grabbing my hand.
"Let's have a baby" he tells me, a smile on his face.
45 minutes later, Jax is sitting down next to me, a smile on his face as he looks down at our little girl in his arms.
"You okay?" I ask him, laying my hand on his.
"More than okay" he responds.
"I love you"
"I love you both, more than anything in the world"
