Jax's POV

It has been a few weeks since Jessica has had to fake her death. Since that day, it's been a whirlwind of activity. We had a funeral for them, a memorial, and a few other things that my mom put together over the past few weeks.

True to their word, Jessica's parents showed up the same day that they got the call. They showed up to the club house frantic, wondering what happened to their baby. As soon as they left here, they went to the safe house where Jess was, choosing to stay with her and the Mayan's while she is still pregnant, so she has some more support around her.

I haven't been able to see her yet with everything around her going on. The club has been on lockdown since the incident, saying that they were waiting to find who did this until they lifted the lockdown.

I've been getting a few texts here and there from different burner numbers about Jess, making sure I know she's fine, and a few updates about our little girl.

Exactly like Jessica had predicted, mom tried to push Tara in my direction the day after the phony funeral, and she hasn't stopped since.

"What are we doing out here?" Opie questions, walking over to me.

I pulled Opie away from the clubhouse today, telling everyone that we needed to get a few things from my old house. In reality, the two of us are going to the safe house where Jessica is at so that he can be filled in, it's time to put a plan in motion.

"Just wait, you will see soon" I tell him, moving the two bikes into the garage.

A few minutes later, a black van pulls up in front of the house, instantly putting Opie on high alert.

"Get in" Angel states, opening up the side door of the van.

As I walk towards the van, Opie puts a hand on my arm.

"What aren't you telling me?" Opie questions.

"Just trust me" I tell him.

He gives me a weary nod before following me over to the van.

As soon as we get into the van, we take off. Opie looks at the three Mayan's in the car, before looking over at me.

"Calm down, you'll be filled in soon enough. Nothing bad is going to happen, and we won't be gone long" I tell him.

Jessica's POV

"Will you sit your pregnant ass down, you're going to go into labor just pacing the floor" Marcus states, giving me a stern look.

I look over at him, before sitting down in the chair nearby, nerves flowing through my body.

Today was the first time I was going to see Jax since everything happened, and he was bringing Opie with him to fill him in on everything that has happened recently.

A few minutes later, I can hear the gravel crunching in the driveway, signaling that the guys are back with Jax and Opie, as well as some more food for me.

"Don't go out there right now, Jax needs to prepare Opie for what he is about to walk into" Marcus tells me, seeing my eyes dart over towards the door.

"You suck" I tell him, crossing my arms over my chest in frustrations.

"I know I do, but you don't need to go outside regardless. He will be in here soon" Marcus responds.

When the door opens, I'm out of my seat and sprinting towards my husband. As soon as I reach him, I wrap my arms around him as well as I can with the growing bump in between us.

"What the fuck" I hear behind us.

I pull my head out of Jax's chest to see Opie staring at the two of us, a confused, but shocked look on his face.

"How are you alive right now?" Opie questions.

"We will fill you in once these two are done reuniting, give them a moment" Marcus tells him, ushering him out of the room.

As soon as the room is empty, Jax's lips land on mine as he tries to pull me closer to him.

"God I missed you" Jax states, staring deeply in my eyes.

"I missed you too, so much" I respond.

Jax puts his hand on my bump, feeling his little girl kick for the first time, before a throat clears for the first time.

"Why don't we go fill Opie in, he looks a little panicked, a little worried that he's going to die" Angel suggests.

We give him a nod, as the two of us walk into the dining room where everyone is sitting around the table, Opie standing off to the side. Jax helps sit me down in my desk chair that was brought to the table, before sitting down next to me, setting his hand on my thigh.

"First of all, you aren't going to die Ope, so sit down, get comfortable" Jax tells him, motioning to the open seat next to Angel.

Opie sits down, looking directly at Jax and I.

"Nice to see you safe Opie" I tell him.

He gave me a nod.

"Nice to see you alive, unlike what we were all told" he responds.

"About that, Clay and mom were trying to kill Jess" Jax states.

I sigh, rubbing my freehand over my forehead.

"Jax, honey, that's not how you approach this conversation" I tell him.

Jax lets out a chuckle, before shrugging his shoulders.

"Had to tell him somehow" he responds.

"What do you mean they tried to kill you" he questions.

Marcus stands up, coming to stand behind me.

"I got a call a few months ago. Clay and Gemma were reaching out to us with help getting rid of Jax's wife, of course, not knowing how close she was to all of us. So, we faked her death. Made it look like we had went after her and killed her. Staged her death near her store and gave them the proof that they wanted, now they are going after some random person for her death, knowing that the person they are going to kill had nothing to do with her supposed death" Marcus explains.

"Why would they do that though?" Opie asks, taking in all of the information.

"Mom was loosing control of me, and she didn't like that. So, she did what she had to do in order to get me back on her side, not realizing that it will eventually come back to bite her and the ass" Jax tells him.

Opie gives him a nod, understanding what he is saying.

"I knew Gemma was intense, I didn't realize she would go to those lengths though" Opie tells him.

Jax gives him a nod, before looking over at me a small smile on his face.

"I did what I had to do to protect my family, and I'm going to continue to do what I need to do from this day forward" Jax tells him.

"Whatever you need brother, I'm on your side. We are not going to let them get away with this. You saw how much Jess's death effected Donna; we need to get this done soon before someone else is hurt" Opie states.

"Glad you think so, because we have a plan" Jax tells him.
