Pain surged through Sammy's side as she felt herself falling into the cold darkness once again, just like the night she got her scars, she felt helpless like a baby bird, but beyond the darkness she saw a light and the warmth it brought pulled her closer to it and in it she saw the family she had built with Yasmina. The darkness tried to pull her back with icy claws that dug deep into her, causing the woman to cry out in pain.

"Sammy?" She heard a familiar voice calling her name from the distance,"Sammy wake up." The voice called again, but the claws sunk deeper into her and tried to pull her away again. That was when she felt something warm gently grip her shoulder and jolt her upwards.

Sammy jolted upwards gasping for air. She felt a hand grasp loosely around her shoulder and a soft weight on her legs. A voice spoke softly. "You're okay, Sammy, you're safe." The weight on her legs shifted to be near her chest as she blinked the sleep out of her eyes. She could feel course yet soft fur on her hand. Tears beaded in the corners of her eyes as she curled into her wife's side like a little kid hiding from a thunderstorm. Her wife's gentle hands ran through Sammy's short hair in an attempt to help calm her down. "Was it the same nightmare again?" She asked, Sammy gave her a small nod."Do you want to talk about it?" Yasmina asked softly as Sammy shook her head no before getting out of bed to clear her head with Apollo following close behind her.

As Sammy shut the door behind her, she could hear Apollo's padding footsteps next to her and his sizable frame leaning against her, wanting to comfort his owner.
