Resurrection

It is currently 10:00 pm in London. Meanwhile, in St Paul's Cathedral, two mysterious hooded men are calmly standing in front of Wellington's tomb. The tallest mysterious man starts speaking in a calm and confused tone.

MM1: I thought it would have worked? I thought we would have been able to resurrect someone?

Suddenly a fist violently busts through the top of the tomb. The two mysterious men step back out of shock and slight fear. The shorter mysterious man starts speaking in a tone full of shock and slight fear.

MM2: Shit...It worked.
MM1: Should we be going?

Wellington suddenly fully busts out of the tomb. He silently glares at the two mysterious men with his crimson red eyes. Wellington fully spreads his jet black bat wings to try and appear more intimidating.

MM2: Shit...What have we done?
MM1: Run!
MM2: What?
MM1: Run you fucking bastard!

The first mysterious man starts sprinting away out of fear. While the second mysterious man stares at Wellington.

*Wellington in thought*
What in the hell is going on?

Where am I?

Why do I also have these wings?

Why do I also have this extreme hunger for something?...

Wellington carefully jumps down off of his tomb and starts speaking in a calm but slightly confused tone.

Wellington: Do you know where I am?
MM2: You are in England...
Wellington: Where in England?
MM2: London sir...
Wellington: Thank you...Now I need to head home.

Wellington calmly walks past the mysterious man who stands there frozen out of fear. Wellington continues calmly walking through the cathedral until he gets to a large wooden door. Gently opening the door he looks outside and notices how different everything is.

*Wellington in thought*

This does not look like London...

Did that man give me the wrong place?

I'm so confused...

Hmm...maybe that large clock tower is a good vantage point.

Can I fly up there though?

I could try to fly...

Wellington awkwardly flies up and awkwardly lands on top of the nearest house almost stumbling over.

*Wellington in thought*

Alright, I can kind of fly...

However, could I fly up to the top of the clock tower?

How long can I fly without getting exhausted?

Alright, let's give this a go...

Wellington begins trying to fly again. A couple of minutes later he manages to get himself off the ground. Gradually he begins flying higher and starts getting closer to the clock tower. A few minutes later he hears a loud siren blaring nearby. Due to his heightened sense of hearing he goes into some sort of shock from hearing the siren. This causes him to crash quite badly onto the top of the tower.

Wellington: Jesus Christ...What is that awful noise...

Wellington carefully gets up and quietly hisses out of the extreme pain he feels in his ribs.

Wellington: This is just great...I have now hurt myself and for some reason, that stupid noise won't go away! Jesus Christ, it's hurting my ears!

A couple of minutes later the sirens turn off and Wellington sighs out of slight relief. A few minutes later he suddenly hears another unfamiliar noise.

Wellington: What now!?

Wellington looks up and notices these two large unfamiliar objects flying in the sky. Wellington starts speaking in a furious tone.

Wellington: Why does everything have to be so loud! I want silence! Fine I will silence those things myself.

Wellington looks down at the desolate streets below him. Suddenly he leaps off the tower and starts carefully gliding through the frigid night air. A few minutes later he suddenly notices two smaller objects coming from the opposite direction.

*Wellington in thought*

What is going on here?

Also, how are these things flying?

They are quite big so how are they flying?

Meanwhile, in one of the cockpits of the British planes, Barnaby Johnson is cheerfully speaking to his friend through the radio.

Barnaby: Ready to take these bastards down Zane.
Zane: Yes Barnaby. Let's take em down.
Barnaby: I'll take the one on the right you take the one on the left.
Zane: Copy that.
Barnaby: Ready?
Zane: Always.

Meanwhile, near the German bombers, Wellington suddenly lands on one of the wings of the plane. The German pilot stares at him with slight confusion and fear.

*Wellington in thought*

So these things are controlled by people...

Also, it seems I have scared him.

God, why do I feel so hungry...

I need blood...

Wellington suddenly starts trying to open the cockpit of the German plane. But suddenly Wellington notices the two British planes coming towards him. The British planes immediately start firing at the Germans. Wellington quickly jumps off the plane and starts gliding away.

Meanwhile, in the cockpit of the British plane, Barnaby starts calmly talking to Zane through the radio.

Barnaby: Zane I swear I saw someone on the wing of one of those German bombers.
Zane: You what?
Barnaby: I saw someone or something on the wing of one of those German bombers.
Zane: Are you drunk or something?
Barnaby: No. I'm not.
Zane: What did it look like?
Barnaby: I don't know it's literally the middle of the night it's hard to see.
Zane: I'm sure it was nothing.
Barnaby: Your right let's just take care of these bastards.

Meanwhile, in the cockpit of one of the German bombers, the Germans are nervously chatting to each other over their radios.

???: There was this person on my plane and he tried to get in!
???: Gustav are you drunk again?
Gustav: No Kaspar I'm being serious! There was this person with giant wings on my plane!
Kaspar: Sure...

Suddenly Wellington carefully lands back on the wing of the German bomber. Gustav starts immediately panicking.

Gustav: Kaspar he's back!
Kaspar: Oh shut up you drunk bastard and focus on trying to shoot down these British planes.

Wellington starts immediately trying to get the cockpit open. Eventually, he gets the cockpit open and he starts trying to pull the German out of the plane.

Gustav: Get away from me you bastard!
Wellington: I need blood...
Gustav: Kaspar help me, you bastard!
Kaspar: How exactly?
Gustav: Just help me!

Gustav suddenly tries to kick Wellington off the plane. But Wellington yanks the German pilot out of the cockpit and pins him down.

Gustav: You bastard get away from me!
Wellington: You sir are very rude.
Gustav: You are the one trying to hurt me or whatever!

Wellington suddenly bites Gustav's neck and starts drinking his blood. A couple of minutes later Wellington stops and prepares to fly away. But Gustav hastily gets up and tries to shove Wellington off the plane. Wellington suddenly shoves Gustav off the plane causing Gustav to activate his parachute.

Wellington: Seriously why must people be so difficult...

*Wellington in thought*

Now what to do with this flying thing. Like I know I could fly somewhere myself but it would probably get quite tiring.

But it seems this flying thing runs on something else and it can fly long distances.

I guess I could try and use it...

Also, I'm no longer hungry...So I basically need blood...What would happen if I didn't drink blood I wonder. Would I die?

Focus Arthur, you need to try and use this weird flying thing it could be useful.

Wellington gets into the cockpit of the German bomber. He stares at all the controls with confusion.

*Wellington in thought*

How does one work this thing?...

So many controls...

How do you work you weird thing?...

I wonder what happens if I grab onto this stick thing.

Wellington gently grabs onto the control stick. Carefully and gently pushing it forwards Wellington notices that the plane is gradually going downwards.

*Wellington in thought*

No, I don't want to do that!

How do I make it go up!?

Shit!

Meanwhile in the cockpit of one of the British planes. Barnaby notices the situation and he starts speaking to Zane in a confused tone.

Barnaby: Do you see what's happening with that German bomber?
Zane: Is the pilot drunk or something?
Barnaby: Maybe?
Zane: Well it seems he might take care of himself for us.
Barnaby: Possibly...

Meanwhile, in the cockpit of the German bomber, Wellington is still trying to figure out the controls. Noticing that he is getting closer to crashing the plane into the ground he immediately pulls the control stick towards himself. The plane starts regaining altitude and Wellington calmly sighs to himself.

*Wellington in thought*

Jesus Christ...

Alright, I'm alright.

I'm assuming that moving this stick left and right causes this thing to move to the left or right.

But how do I use this things weapons? Because it seems these things have weapons.

Hmm...Maybe it's the obvious button on this stick.

Wellington pushes the button on the control stick and bullets start rapidly flying out. Wellington takes his thumb off the button and he suddenly notices the British fighters coming toward him. They start rapidly shooting at him but he quickly dodges out of the way.

Suddenly he hears a loud explosion nearby. Looking out of the cockpit he notices the other bomber has exploded and is plummeting towards the ground. Wellington feels his hands shaking a little bit out of fear.

Wellington: What do I do...I can't win this fight these people definitely know how to use these things much better than me. I also can't really stay in London people will be constantly afraid of me...I need to fly away from London but I don't know how far I could fly without this thing.

Suddenly Wellington feels a large thud and he notices the plane is rapidly losing altitude. Out of fear and slight panic Wellington punches the front of the cockpit open. Climbing out of the cockpit Wellington jumps off the plane and starts gracefully gliding toward the ground.

Wellington softly lands on the ground. Looking up he notices the two British planes flying away.

*Wellington in thought*

I can't stay in the city...

I need to head out to the countryside it might be safer there.

Away from the destruction. I'm honestly done with the destruction.

I guess I will have to fly as far as I can go...

Maybe it will help me get better at this whole flying thing.

Wellington awkwardly lifts off from the ground and begins to fly upwards and then forward in one direction.

*Wellington in thought*

It seems that I'm getting better at landing although the second one was quite painful.

It seems that I'm quite sensitive to high pitched noises...

I have a feeling that I will be flying for a while this city is massive. I wouldn't expect London to get this massive.

I also don't know how I'm going to deal with this injury. Honestly, who would want to help me it seems everyone is terrified of me.

Maybe I will find someone...But I highly doubt it for some reason.

A few hours later Wellington notices a lone house near the endless green hills and fields of the countryside. Wellington slowly and gently lands on the ground and collapses out of exhaustion. Suddenly he changes into his human form and completely passes out from exhaustion.

A few minutes later a woman with short brown hair, and blue eyes who is wearing a light grey nightgown walks over to him. The woman kneels down on the grass beside him and gently shakes him. She starts speaking in a concerned tone.

Clementine: Wake up...Are you alright?

Clementine notices that he is still breathing. She starts speaking in a calm and soft voice.

Clementine: Well at least your alive...But where did you come from? I guess I will have to help you and make sure you are alright.

Clementine gently picks Wellington up and begins carrying him to her cottage. Entering her cottage she carries him to her spare room. Entering the spare room which has cream coloured walls and a dark wooden floor. She gently places him onto the bed and gently tucks him in. She then starts speaking in a quiet, calm and soft voice.

Clementine: Good night...I hope that you sleep well whoever you are...

Clementine quietly exits the room and gently closes the door behind her. A few hours later Wellington notices that he is lying in something warm and comfortable. He also notices that he is hungry but not for blood just for normal food. Slowly opening his eyes he notices that he is in a small room.

*Wellington in thought*

What happened why am I here?

I'm hungry...But it's not blood I want. I just want actual food.

It also seems that I'm just in my normal human form...

I wonder how or why I changed into my human form.

Suddenly Clementine calmly enters the room. She smiles a little bit noticing that Wellington is awake. She then starts speaking in a cheerful tone.

Clementine: Well, I'm glad you're awake.
Wellington: Why am I here?
Clementine: Well I wasn't going to leave you outside last night. So I bought you inside.
Wellington: Who are you, young lady?
Clementine: I'm Clementine Johnson.
Wellington: I see.
Clementine: So who are you then?
Wellington: I'm Arthur Wellesley...
Clementine: I have heard of you. But how are you alive?
Wellington: Well, I don't know...
Clementine: You do realise that you have technically been dead for almost 100 years...
Wellington: Wait...what year is it?

Clementine: The year is 1940...
Wellington: What is going on in Europe why were these things flying over London?
Clementine: There is a war going on. The Germans have been bombing London for a while.
Wellington: Who are these Germans?
Clementine: Well they use to be known as the Prussians...
Wellington: Why would the Prussians attack their ally. Britain was allied with the Prussians for years!
Clementine: Also those things that are flying over London are called planes.
Wellington: Why would you need something that flies flying is dangerous!
Clementine: Well, it is faster than walking...

Wellington quietly sighs out of slight frustration. Gently folding his arms he quietly hisses out of feeling the pain in his ribs. Clementine stares at him out of slight confusion. She then starts speaking in a confused tone.

Clementine: Is something wrong? Why did you do that?
Wellington: Do what?
Clementine: You made a noise like an angry cat...
Wellington: Well...I didn't mean to do that. I just can't help it right now.
Clementine: What do you mean by that?
Wellington: Do I really have to explain myself?
Clementine: You don't have to if you don't want to...
Wellington: To answer your question if something is wrong. Well yes, there is.

Clementine: What's wrong?
Wellington: Well, I'm hungry...I have also hurt myself.
Clementine: How have you hurt yourself?
Wellington: I have hurt my ribs...I don't think that they are broken.
Clementine: I see. But why didn't you go to a hospital?
Wellington: Well there is a problem with me doing that...
Clementine: What kind of problem?
Wellington: Well, I'm not fully human...
Clementine: What do you mean by that?
Wellington: Fine I'll show you.

Wellington starts trying to force his fangs to appear. A couple of minutes later he feels his fangs appear in his mouth. Revealing his fangs to Clementine she nervously backs off a little bit. Wellington starts speaking in a calm voice.

Wellington: Look I'm not going to bite you...Besides, I'm not hungry for blood right now...
Clementine: How can I trust that you won't bite me?
Wellington: Well, I have only bitten one person. But that's because they were being rude and I was hungry and a bit annoyed. But I won't bite you.
Clementine: So you basically can't go to a hospital because you're a vampire.
Wellington: Basically. Mostly because I don't want too many people to know what I am...
Clementine: Fine I will help you...But all I can say is don't bite me when I'm trying to help you. Also how long until you need to drink blood again?
Wellington: Honestly, I have no idea.

Clementine quietly sighs to herself.

Wellington: What?
Clementine: Just trying to think how I'm going to deal with this.
Wellington: Are you trying to say I'm the problem?
Clementine: No...I'm basically going to have to keep your powers a secret from my siblings. Which could be a problem especially if you need to have a constant source of blood...
Wellington: I could try to control myself and not drink blood for a while...
Clementine: No I'm not letting you do that. Because I don't know what could happen to you if you do that. Anyway, I will think about this later. But right now I need to sort out your injury and make breakfast for us.
Wellington: I'm sure I'm fully capable of making breakfast for myself...
Clementine: No you need to rest.
Wellington: Fine...

Clementine calmly leaves the room. A few minutes later she comes back with a couple of rolls of bandages. Clementine starts speaking in a calm and soft voice.

Clementine: I'm going to have to dress your injury. This means that you will have to take your coat and shirt off so I can put these bandages on.
Wellington: I am not doing that...I would prefer to keep my clothes on.
Clementine: I'm trying to help you, Arthur.
Wellington: I'm not going to have my shirt off in front of a young lady.
Clementine: Fine...Do it yourself.
Wellington: I will because I know how to do it.

Clementine walks over to the bed and places the bandages in front of Wellington.

Clementine: Breakfast will be ready in ten minutes. Just tell me when you are done.
Wellington: Fine...

Clementine calmly leaves the room gently closing the door behind herself. Wellington gets out of bed and unbuttons the golden buttons on his dark blue coat. Gently taking his coat off he places it on the bed. Then he starts unbuttoning his white blouse. Gently taking off his blouse and placing it on the bed he notices that his chest is extremely bruised.

Wellington grabs the bandages and begins carefully wrapping them around where the bruises are. A few minutes later he finishes putting on the bandages. Suddenly he hears a gentle knock on the door along with a calm and pleasant voice.

Clementine: Arthur are you done breakfast is ready.
Wellington: Don't come in I need to put my clothes on.
Clementine: Alright.

Wellington grabs his blouse and hastily puts it on and promptly buttons it up. Grabbing his coat he puts it on and carefully buttons it up. He then starts speaking in a calm and pleasant tone.

Wellington: You may come in now.

Clementine gently opens the door and enters the room with a warm bowl of porridge. Wellington stares at her with slight confusion. He then starts speaking in a confused tone.

Wellington: What is that?
Clementine: It's porridge...
Wellington: Why does it look disgusting...
Clementine: Seriously you're going to be fussy. Seriously the 1st Duke of Wellington is going to be fussy about food.
Wellington: Look I use to eat cold meat and bread for dinner.
Clementine: Arthur it took me 10 minutes to make this so, please eat it.
Wellington: At this point, I would prefer to eat a piece of fruit.
Clementine: Fine I will put some blueberries and strawberries in so you eat the porridge.

Clementine leaves the room out of slight frustration. A couple of minutes later she comes back with the bowl of porridge which now has strawberries and blueberries in it. She gently hands the bowl of porridge to Wellington who stares at it. Clementine starts speaking in a slightly irritated tone.

Clementine: Better?
Wellington: Yes.
Clementine: Good. Now I'm going to go have my breakfast.
Wellington: Yes very well.

Clementine leaves the room still feeling slightly irritated. Wellington sits down on the bed and begins eating the porridge.

*Wellington in thought*

Hmm...this is actually not as awful as I thought...

Even though it's not the most appealing looking.

It honestly looks disgusting without something else...

Also am I really that fussy?

Maybe I will take a nap after eating this I'm still quite tired...

A few minutes later Wellington finishes eating the porridge. Gently placing the empty bowl onto the nearby bedside table he then gets into bed. Slowly closing his eyes Wellington enters his fantasies. Opening his eyes he notices that he is sitting on his horse observing a battle. A battle that he remembers quite well and tries to forget.

Suddenly he notices the Prussians in the distance attacking the French. A young man suddenly comes up to him. The man starts speaking in a calm and confident tone.

???: Should we advance sir?
Wellington: Yes order the men to advance.
???: Yes sir!

The young man quickly marches off. Eventually what's left of the British Army begins advancing down the hill towards the French. Suddenly a French cannon fires and Wellington notices that the cannonball is heading toward him. Immediately waking up Wellington feels his heart pounding hard in his chest. Suddenly he changes into his vampire form out of his overwhelming fear.

He awkwardly forces his wings to fold inwards so it's less uncomfortable for him to be lying down in the bed. He quietly hisses to himself out of slight frustration. Slowly closing his eyes he enters a deep and peaceful sleep.

To be Continued...

I hope you guys liked this chapter.

Who do you guys think the two mysterious men are? 🤔

When do you think Arthur will reveal his vampire form to Clementine?

Do you think he will reveal his vampire form by accident or by his own choice?

I'm not sure when I will write the next chapter of this story. Because as you guys know I'm working on a long novel. But it will hopefully be soon.
