Lockpick Master 2k18

I wake up in the bed, tired but cozy. Normally I would rest, but I know where I am. My eyes squint open tiredly.

Celine, Damien, Warfstache, Butler, the cook, Detective. This is a house of memories. It almost feels similar. I have a goal, to help people who want to live who are trapped. They probably wanted to as well. They're not all bad people, so for them and the people who are trapped, I'll try to end this with whatever I can.

But yet, I'm so afraid...

I sit up, yawning. I stretch and climb out of the bed. I walk toward the door and open it a jar. I hear movement downstairs and the smell of bacon and eggs.

The door at the end of the hall feels important to me so I need to unlock it. But I still need to practice. As for the other excuses...

"Morning Jada, how did you sleep~?"

I got to be nice, fire with fire.

"I slept better last night. Thanks, Damien." He gives me a warm smile, and we prepare to sit down and eat.

While eating, I notice something that he's giving me an odd look. It really makes me uncomfortable.

"...What?"

"Nothing, it's good to see that you're eating is all~."

I nod and go back to eating.

"Is there something you want to tell me~?"

I freeze up cold. Oh no, if he knows I'm planning something then I could be done for!

"You look like you want to ask me something~."

I look up at him and cough. "Well, yeah. And it has to do with my boundaries and the dogs."

I watch as the mood becoming serious on his end and he nods. "Go ahead~."

I nod, taking a deep breath. "Lily and Axel, the dogs, would need to go out for a walk and to do their thing at least once or twice a day. So I would need to take them-"

"No~."

My heart jumps.

"What..?"

"If they need to go out. I will do it. You stay inside, I will need to trust you more for that~." He hisses.

I let out a sigh of defeat. "Alright."

"Here's how things will go. After lunch, I will take out your dogs along with Chica, and you will be here alone~."

Dark Chica...

I watch him as he speaks, hope rises inside me.

"But, I will lock your door with you inside so you don't have the chances to do anything, at all~."

"L-Lock me inside?!" I stutter paranoid.

"I said it before~." He notes. "I do not want troublemakers in this house. That includes people who could possibly DARE run about the house, like a little rat~."

I gulp nervously, it really does seem easy for him to switch and mix the mood like a girls outfit decision.

Before I can say another word, he turns around and leaves into the kitchen. So much for that...

I cross my arms. It might not be completely ruined. If I finally learn how to properly lockpick, I might be okay. But the whole plan would have to go unknown. I hold the charm, nodding.

I head upstairs and get my book and pen. I update one of the ideas written down, for whatever reason in the first place.

- Axel and Lily will need to go outside for walks and their businesses (Damien will take them out after lunch w/ Chica & lock me in my room.)

I put it down and lay on the bed, playing with the two of them. It's fun, but there isn't really anything else I can do. For now, I can only wait for time to drive.

* * *

I hear footsteps coming up the steps of the staircase, but I don't really move. I still rely on the timer for minutes and hours and for the last hour or so, I've been laying here with my eyes closed, resting.

The only movement I make in response is turning the phone over to hide the screen against the bed.

"Is someone tired here~?"

I open my eyes tiredly in response as he peers down at me from the doorway. Smirking.

"So she is. I'll be taking them now, you can trust me. I'll be out for over an hour and if I remember to, I might bring you back something nice~."

I nod as the slight response to him and he grins at me, evilly. It's not so much what they do, but the real pain comes from who they are. Damien, Mark. Anti, Sean. That's the real pain. Fright. Despair.

I roll over but my eyes remain on him as I watch him put leashes on both of their collars. I don't want to trust him.

"Goodbye, sleep well~."

I hear him shut the door and the sound of the door locking on his side.

*Clack*

After that, I hear his footsteps fade off into the distance.

I wait for a minute, listening through the walls. I hear him mumbling to himself, pacing around, then the door. The minute I hear the front door shut makes me shoot up from my bed.

I open the drawer, there are the bobby pins. From replaying the video many times, the instructions are already drilled into my head. I head to the door with pins in hand.

Just to check, I turn the handle.

Locked

"Alright, let's do this." I mumble to myself, crouching down to the height of the handle. My hands rest against the door, preparing myself. If I'm unable to do this, I'd be letting myself down.

I put the bobby pins I need into the lock and begin to turn them around. I need to believe in myself. If I believe I can do this, I might just get past.

You know who you're doing this for. You can't give up.

The charm glows a bright green on my chest, connecting with my emotions.

Click, click, click, click, click.
Click, click, click, click.
Click, click, click.
Click, click.
Click.

...

*Clack.*

My eyes widen to the sound of it and slowly, it creaks open. My mind runs with excitement and I begin to dance and jump around the room, cheering silently yet full of energy.

"I-un-locked a doooorrrrrrr!  I-un-locked a doooorrrrrrr!" I sing happily.

If only my friends could see me now! I learned a new skill! Yeah yeah boi!

My legs hurt as I stand up again, stretching. The door was hard to unlock, but I managed to get it unlocked in the end. I can't waste my time though, let's not stall.

Cautiously, I take a couple steps out the room. The house is empty. No Damien, no dogs, just me.

I take a deep breath and pat both sides of my cheeks. I feel the heat of my determination begin to rush to my face as I focus on my goal.

I have about an hour, I can't waste it!

I creep over to the door at the end of the hall and peek through the lock. Its hard to see what's in the room but I can faintly see photos and red strings on a pinboard on the very left. There also seems to be a desk and a crappy chair at the back of the room on the right.

I put in the bobby pins and try to unlock it. It takes a couple clicks but the door is easier to unlock this time and I hear the Clack that I'm looking for. Though, victory is tougher than it seems.

I push the door open and it creaks with it's movement. I take a step inside and look around the room. Classically old-fashioned. As I stare at the pinboard my body goes cold. Paralyzed with a fear I've never felt before.
