Beginning Steps

"Hey Daiishu, can I please get a pillow from your room?"

"̶W̴h̵a̴t̸ ̷f̸o̴r̶~̴?̸"̶

"I wanted to have another pillow as I rest."

"̵.̶.̴.̴S̷u̵r̷e̷,̵ ̵g̷o̷ ̶a̴h̸e̸a̶d̶~̷.̷"̸

I let out a silent sigh of relief then enter the bedroom, shutting the door behind me. The room is fairly normal, peach sheets, black carpet, a bedside table on each side, shelves and other things too.

There's a bookshelf, the shelf of items he had in his Reading Your Comments and the sideboards you store clothes in, or other things...

I can't be here too long. I wait for a minute, pacing the room then opening and closing the door purposely.

She's not an idiot but that should buy me more time...

I search the left bedside table and I see a bunch of little things in the first draw. The first thing that catches my eyes is a set of keys. They jingle as I pick them up and put them in my pocket. I see a black USB and I pick it up and observe it. It's quite big and it seems to hold a lot of space.

When Bonnie gets back to me, this might be useful. I throw it in my pocket then shut the drawer.

In the other drawer is a bit sweeter things. I pick up a rainbow key that says OK but I know what it really is, I wanted one after all.

I flick it open to show it's a key-shaped knife, the blade is stained with dark, red blood. I could use this for self-defense, but I see a pepper spray which would be more effective.

I also see a book which seems important. I pick it up carefully and flick through.

Hi, my name is Signe~. This is a diary so-

I slam it shut with wide eyes. I am a respectful person, no way in hell am I reading her diary!

I thought it could have been plan information Anti could've written, but it's not. I place her diary down gently and shut the drawer. Nothing else really becomes helpful in my aid but I look behind me to the bed.

Daiishu would find it mysterious if she didn't see an extra pillow in what seems to be my room at the moment.

I still have a heart in me, it's their pillow so I shouldn't take one. But I put myself in this spot, I have no choice. But I DO have an idea. There's an empty pillow case and pillow side by side so I take the case and put my items inside.

I open the door as quietly as possible then head to my room.

I put the pillow on the mattress and then the case of items in the corner. I pull out the keys silently and sneak into the bathroom.

There are ten to fifteen keys so I have to try my luck.

One, two, three.

No, no, no.

Four, five, six.

No, no, no.

Seven.

*Clack*

On the key I used, there were four numbers engraved on it. 5828

My face doesn't change as I keep myself in this paranoid state so I stay on toes. Slowly but silently, I open the cabinet and reach in and grab the bottle of sleeping pills. Cautiously, I skim the back.

- works almost instantly
- lasts for five hours
- safe for everyone to use
- take two per use

I close the cabinet quietly and lock it back up. Determination rushes through my veins. It's now or never.

I put the keys away in the case but I keep the bottle in my pocket. My jacket is big and the bottle is small so it's hard to notice that it's there.

"Hey Daiishu!" I grin around the corner.

She still remains at the table but she looks away from her magazine to look at me.

"Do you want me to make you anything? I'm boooooorreeeeed."

"̶S̸t̴a̵r̴t̵i̶n̴g̸ ̸e̷a̵r̵l̸y̴~̸?̶ She smirks at me.

I nod, grinning a fake smile with my invisible mask. She tilts her head slyly, thinking.

"̷O̸k̵a̸y̵ ̸t̸h̵e̴n̵,̸ ̶m̸a̸k̸e̷ ̵m̴e̷ ̸a̶ ̶c̵u̸p̸ ̷o̵f̵ ̷c̵o̶f̴f̶e̷e̸.̸ ̷O̷n̷e̶ ̴s̷p̶o̷o̴n̸ ̶o̷f̷ ̸c̸o̷f̶f̶e̴e̶ ̴p̴o̶w̶d̸e̵r̷,̵ ̵o̸n̴e̴ ̴s̶p̷o̷o̸n̸ ̶o̵f̶ ̴s̸u̷g̶a̴r̶,̸ ̸f̸i̷l̵l̸ ̷i̸t̶ ̸h̶a̵l̷f̷ ̸w̴a̸y̶ ̸u̵p̶ ̵f̸r̶o̸m̷ ̸t̸h̶e̵ ̷s̴p̵o̸o̴n̶ ̵a̷n̷d̸ ̸t̴h̶e̷ ̴r̸e̴s̴t̵ ̶b̶e̵i̷n̴g̸ ̵h̷o̴t̸ ̶w̷a̸t̸e̴r̸.̸ ̸I̶t̵ ̴b̶e̵t̸t̴e̴r̷ ̷b̶e̶ ̸g̷o̵o̸d̸~̷.̶"̷ She purrs, cupping her hands.

I nod and walk over to the counter. This is my one chance, I can't afford to blow it.

I get out a coffee mug, the coffee, and sugar, milk and spoon. In the meantime, I get the water to boil in the kettle.

Daiishu seems to trust me and minds her business, although I see her looking at me from the corner of her eyes. She keeps her watch on me.

I put a spoon full of coffee in the mug, but now I need to put in the pills. Not as they are though. If I put the pills as themselves, she won't have it. I look down, and quickly act with my lie.

"Ah! My shoelaces are untied! Gnahhhh!"

Daiishu watches me intently as I crouch down out of sight. I have to act fast. Quickly, I unscrew the lid and pull out two of the pills, and I screw the lid back on and stand up again, holding the pills in one hand out of sight.

"̶A̶l̸l̸ ̷b̷e̷t̴t̵e̸r̶~̸?̸"̸

I nod and throw on another fake smile. "Yep!"

I empty in the sugar and pour in the milk. The kettle clicks, initiating that it's completely boiled. I pour the water in full enough to then put the kettle back.

I crouch down one more time and get the pills out of my pocket. I snap the pills and empty the insides cautiously on the spoon. I put the shells in my pocket, the bin would be too obvious.

As I reach up with the spoon slowly, I quickly put it in the mug and stir, the insides of the pills going with.

"Okay, all done!" I chirp.

I bring the mug over to her and she pulls it close the second it touches the table. I await her next response and I expect anything she might do next. She stirs it a little more then taps it with the side of the mug, then puts it down on the table.

She picks up the mug and my mind runs with thoughts and fears, patiently, and she takes a sip.

She puts the mug down and thinks about it, then she looks toward me. Everything drops and I watch her response eagerly.

"̸W̶e̷l̸l̸,̶ ̵i̵t̷ ̷c̸e̷r̸t̴a̸i̸n̸l̷y̶ ̶i̶s̵n̴'̶t̶ ̵b̶a̸d̶.̶ ̵I̷,̵ ̸l̸i̵k̴e̸ ̶i̶t̵~̵.̷"̸ Nothing is good about her toothy grin.

My hopes begin to rise as she lets out a huge yawn, stretching tiredly. It must've worked..!

"̶A̸h̴,̸ ̸c̴o̷f̵f̸e̵e̸ ̶i̵s̵ ̶n̵o̸r̴m̸a̸l̵l̶y̵ ̶s̸u̵p̶p̵o̶s̷e̷d̵ ̴t̸o̴ ̴w̸a̶k̷e̸ ̷y̷o̶u̵ ̷u̷p̷ ̷i̶s̵n̴'̷t̸ ̸i̴t̶~̸?̷"̸ She asks me.

"Uh, no. It makes you more tired." I lie sheepishly.

She tries to concentrate on her answer but ends up giving one more yawn and laying on the table like you would do in school.

Not two seconds later, I hear her slightly snore. Normally I'd do a victory fist pump in the air, but, I feel bad. This normally wouldn't be right, at all.

Signe, I'm sorry...
