CHELSEA POV
I have no idea where to look or what to do, I think over and over, complaining about how Elizabeth and Sally could've helped in my head.
"Where to?" I ask Sarah.
"No clue," she answers. Great. We have two missing friends and an evil principal with no idea where to start.
"Maybe there'll be evidence at the school?" I wonder, noticing that I'm slightly shaking. I get easily scared. It's not fun, living in fear. Sometimes it sounds good to be without it, in a world of endless sleep. But I want to live with my friends. I care for them, my family, and my life too much to do that. If we survive this, I believe we will be safe and my fear won't be nearly as great. I think that because we had enough excitement for A lifetime.
"Good idea! Let's start there!" Sarah exclaims. She doesn't appear to be afraid, not even the slightest bit. I wish I could be that way.
We walk through the woods in uncomfortable silence, giving me time to think of everything that could go wrong, which is a lot. What if we can't find them? What if they created a trap? And, my least favorite, What if they're already dead?
I try to shut out the thoughts, but that never works.
When we finally approach the place it all started, Sarah notices something.
"Look!" she exclaimed suddenly.
"What? What?" I wonder. "I don't see anything!"
"I do! I see faint tire marks going a long ways away! We can follow them!"
"So, we'd be leading ourselves right into our enemies' home territory, not even knowing what they have planned for our friends and us? Not even knowing if it's a trap?"
"Yep! Come on!"
I glare at her.
"Oh, seriously? We have to! Please?"
"Fine...." I give in.
"Come on! We've got some teachers to defeat and some friends to save!" I wish I could sound that confident.
"Alrighty, then," I reply unenthusiastically.
The tire tracks stretch on until it turns into a random driveway.
"I guess this is the place," Sarah says, thinking out loud. "It just seemed too easy to get here."
"Too easy? We just ran and walked ten miles!" I complained.
"Shut up," she says playfully. "But I'm serious. I bet this is a trap."
"Don't make me any more nervous than I already am. I don't need that!"
"Okay, okay, I'll stop," she surrenders.
I walk up closer to the building and gasp. I freeze in place.
"What? What is it?" Sarah questions, suddenly alert.
"Look at the guard. Right at the door." I pointed to a nightmarish sight.
"What-" her voice faltered.
"I don't know, but let's find out."
As I got closer, the more sure of it I became.
The guard at the door was Sally.
And she didn't seem to recognize us.
"Sally? Sally, it's us," I began. "Chelsea, and Sarah."
"I don't know you," she growled in an otherwise emotionless voice.
That broke me, and I began to cry.
"Did you say your names are Chelsea and Sarah?"
I looked up. I thought she recognized us.
"Yes, yes I did!" I exclaimed while I noticed Sarah crying hysterically just like me, but gesturing wildly to stop.
She lunged for us as Sarah grabbed me and attempted to run away. She was too late. Sally had got us.
"Sally, please!" Sarah pleaded between sobs.
Sally ignored her. "You are wanted here. Let me bring you to the boss. She will be grateful for your appearance."
That's when I noticed what Sarah meant. She didn't recognize us.
It's her job to destroy us.
