Chapter 13
I dedicate this chapter to ameliab22 because I am. :P
-----------------------------------------------------------
I don't know what to say. I don't know what to do. What is there to do when your friend tells you that you're in extreme danger?
"I think it's time for bed," Chelsea says, tense. She's trying not to have an emotional breakdown. Sarah could've tricked me, except I saw her with Elizabeth.
"Good idea, it will feel good after this stressful day," I reply. I try not to make my voice weak. It doesn't work very well.
"You're right, goodnight." Sarah get comfortable on the floor. She can sleep anywhere, anytime! I don't know how she does it.
In the time I takes me to find a spot on the floor, she's out cold.
I feel something weird in my gut, but I ignore it and try to sleep.
After what I think was like hours, I finally get some rest.
I wake up in the room, to a sleeping Sarah and Chelsea missing. Then I watch the door open. Elizabeth! With Chelsea!
"How did you find her?!" I whisper ferociously.
"It's best to come with us," Chelsea says in a robotic voice. "You will find happiness and purpose with us, Sally. Leave her and come along."
"Yes," Elizabeth says in another emotionless voice. "She speaks the truth. Come along, or we'll make you."
"No. I'm not coming." As soon as I replied, I knew I should've played along. They hissed.
"You are coming. Now."
"No." I stay confident and defiant in my body language. I stand tall and look into Elizabeth's eyes. This is not the homecoming I thought she'd have.
"Alright, we'll take you."
They pick a thrashing me up off the ground and carry me out of the room. I'm helpless.
"PUT ME DOWN!" I yell, kicking them as hard as I can, but because of their robot state, they ignore any pain and keep moving. "SARAH! HELP!" She wakes up and stares in fear. She acts quickly, only to be shoved back down, hard.
"Silly Sarah," Elizabeth says emotionless, her face remaining blank of emotions, too, and the same for Chelsea.
"Yes, silly girl," the Chelsea-robot agrees.
They keep moving out the tunnel.
No matter how hard I thrash, they show no sign of weakness.
When we exit, they shove me I to a car and close the tunnel. The night sky is full of stars, and I see a shooting star. I make a wish. It can't hurt.
Get me out of this, I wish.
A driver drives me through so many turns, and finally, we arrive at a destination. I have no idea where we are, but it looks like a rotting haunted mansion. It's old and creepy.
They carry me up to the house. I see the principal in the doorway along with my math teacher I used to like.
"Bring 'er in," my math teacher, Mrs. McDonald, said to them.
They bring me into a dark room.
"Turn it on," the principal barks. They do.
What I see in front of me is a big contraption that does something, but I have no idea what.
"'Race 'er mind," Mrs. McDonald says. She always uses weird slang. Translation: Erase her mind. I know you're not stupid, but for those others who are.
That doesn't make me feel any better.
I struggle, but it's no use. I fight hard to nobody giving way. They put me down and strap me in. The contraption is too strong as well. I just stay put.
As soon as they turn the machine on, I feel weird.
I jolt awake.
I lay on my side for a while, and I look at my watch. 11:59. There are five seconds until midnight, so I watch it become midnight.
When it does, I get a strange feeling in my gut. I get up without any feeling in me.
I move around and grab all the evidence and stuff it it Chelsea's bag. I take it with me.
What's going on? Wait a minute... The food! I struggle against the invisible force.
I can't stop from moving. I take all evidence with me, and some things I have no name for, and exit the place. Stop, legs! Listen to my brain! Obviously, that doesn't work.
I walk down the tunnel with robotic actions. Only my thoughts are mine. I can't even control where I look sometimes.
I walk easily into a car because someone opened the tunnel as I came by the exit. They close it again as soon as I come out.
"Slide in, nice 'n easy, now, robot." The driver smiles, then laughs at his own joke. "Haha... Get it? Of course you do. Anyway..." I tune him out. What's the point of listening to an idiot driver with bad jokes and was driving me to my doom?
He drives me to the house in my dream. I'm greeted by the principal and my math teacher in the same way. Could the principal be a T-rex, then?
I'm walked to a room with Mrs. McDonald, and I got a glimpse of a label next to the door on the right.
Elizabeth Barner.
Status: Currently being tortured.
That's not good.
I walk in my room.
"'Ood Nigh'," My math teacher cackles. Translation: Good night.
