Where am I? I looked up and saw Raney’s face filled with concern, when she realized I was awake she smiled. I looked around and saw that I was in the orphanage doctor’s office. To my right was a small 5 year old who was only getting treated for a flu, and to my right, was the cutest boy I have ever seen. He had light- colored windswept hair. His eyes were a beautiful silver, and his smile was heart stopping. He also had a broken arm, but I didn’t even care about that. “Raney.” I whispered, “Who is that?” “Oh that’s Merrick. He was concerned about you while you were in a coma.” “Oh about that, how long was I asleep?” “A week.” “I was asleep for a whole week!?” “The doctor said that you have to stay here for three more days.” Raney told me sadly. “I have to go to class. I’ll see you later.” Raney waved and smiled then she left. How can she be so cheerful? After what had happened, unless it was a dream. No it was too real to be a dream.

 I looked at Merrick again, he was so cute. His hair reminded me of the wind on a plain. Wind? Could he be the air element? The word air is in his name too, could he be the one? “Hello, how did you break your arm?” I asked. “It’s kind of embarrassing really, but I’ll tell you. I went to the track field to practice running, luckily no one else was there. I started running around the track, but out of nowhere a gust of wind just randomly blew, and it knocked me on the ground. I broke my arm in the fall.” “When did you break it?” “The day you came in with a coma. What happened anyways?” “Oh, I saw something shocking.” “What was it?” Merrick asked. “Oh it’s nothing. If I told you, you’d think I was crazy.” “It’ll take a lot to make me think you’re crazy.” “If she doesn’t want to tell  you, don’t make her.” I turned around and saw Raney in the doorway. “When did you get here?” I asked her. “Just a little bit ago, Miss Lily was experiencing love troubles, again.” “Her and her breakups, she always get so overdramatic.” Merrick sighed. “Definitely.” I agreed. “It’s fine with me because I get a break from school.” Raney said happily. “Well I can agree with that.” I replied.

After three days had passed I was finally able to leave the doctor’s office. Raney often visited me, and Merrick actually visited me once too. I was so happy when he visited me. He was so cute to not make me happy. One of the days Raney came to visit me we talked about something, interesting. “Hey Raney, I’ve been thinking about your dream.” I told Raney. “What did you find out?” she asked. “Well I didn’t exactly find anything about, but I did think of something. You said there are four elements right?” “Right.” “I thought that Merrick might be the air element.” “Why?” Raney asked. “Well just say his name. It has the word air in it, and he reminds me of wind in a way.” “Okay, I get that you’re in love with him, but do you truly believe he’s the one?” “Yes.” I say stubbornly. “Ok, well I think we should see if we get any more hints before we tell him.” Raney stubbornly said back. “Fine with me.”

The next few days I have tried looking for hints about the Air Element. I constantly looked for Merrick to see if I could find him, but normally I would never find him, or even a clue. While I was looking for him one day I found a notebook on the ground. I picked it up and opened it to see who it belonged to. Merrick I took the book to my room and started looking through it. The book was full of drawings, and they were good. At first I didn’t see anything weird about the drawings, but then I noticed something that applied to every drawing. Each one had wind blowing a person’s or animal’s hair or fur. I kept flipping through the book until I got to the last drawing. It was of me. The only one without a breeze. It was when I was unconscious in the doctor’s office. Even though there was no wind, I knew he was the Air Element by looking at this picture. There was a letters at the bottom of the page reading, This is the first picture I didn’t use wind. Maybe it was because I felt like the air was guiding my hands through this picture.
