Chapter Twelve: "We'll Go After Mom and Dad Makes a Third Child."
"Also you have to say bye to everyone you've met here, including your online friends," mom narrows her eyes at me.
Knowing my mom, she's dead serious.
"What happened?"
"You're sharp. You are my daughter. A few days ago there was a fire at your school. Good thing no one was hurt. Yesterday there was a shooting. Twenty dead, fourty-five injured, and one missing."
"One missing?" I questioned.
"No one seen him after the shooting. His name is Lance Lovett,"
I shrug, "I couldn't care less about that asshole. He threatened to take my virginity away. He's in Peters hands anyways,"
"You're really heartless aren't you? Don't you care about the twenty dead people and the many injured," Matthew decides to join in.
I sneer, "Shut it dickhead. Of course I care, but that's nothing I can do. It's not like I have that water healing power or have that ability to bring to dead alive again."
"You were so sweet before, holding my hand and such,"
Heat raised up to my cheeks, "I didn't enjoy it. Your hand was sweaty."
He laughs, "Excuses, as always."
"You two sure do get along," dad smiles.
I roll my eyes. We didn't end up celebrating my birthday and I let it pass. In the next two weeks, moms and dads relationship was growing each day, making me cringe every time they kiss. Matthew and I would always end up gagging a bit inside. Mom had to deal with Vince Guy and their breakup wasn't pretty. Despite our parents past, Coal and I promised to keep in touch.
It took a lot of convincing, but with dads help, I was able to get mom to allow me to adopt a puppy. It's fun having a dad to support you. It's always lonely being the only child. I'll never tell Matthew, but I'm happy having him as my twin.
I sat on my fairly white bed, wondering what I should pack. If I take everything, that would be as estimate of twenty bags. I don't care, mom did say we were getting five house moving trucks and I get a whole truck to myself.
Mom did say I have to say bye to everyone, including my online friends.
"That's going to be hard," hugging my legs, grabbing my phone.
I scrolled down and found my conversation with Michael. I read some past conversations I found interesting. He's been though a lot, it's hard to believe someone can go through so much suffering. I want to help him, but in the end theres nothing I can do. I have to admit, I cringe after reading over our conversations. Who knew I could be so cheesy?
Wednesday:
Michael: I feel all all warm inside.
Valerie: All warm inside?
Michael: Knowing someone cares.
Valerie: It's like I'm the first. *laughs*
Michael: You may just be.
Valerie: What? Your mom should be first.
Michael: Other than family and work.
Valerie: Well you're the first open I've opened up to.
Michael: Seems like we've taken some of each other's firsts.
Valerie: I almost thought that said flirts.
Michael: *Laughs*
Valerie: Sadly, West and Ash took most of my firsts. (I'm just so happy those experiences weren't in real life.) You probably don't remember them.
Michael: I remember them and I'll be there to protect the rest.
Since I was listening to songs on Spotify, there are like ads that let you listen to music without ads for thirty minutes if you watch it. I had to listen to a advertisement about the company Trojan. I feel sorry for my innocent ears.
Valerie: I don't think I want to listen to an advertisement about Trojan.
Micheal: Now that's awkward.
Valerie: Yeah, it's not everyday you get to listen to an ad like this. How lucky am I? -_-
Michael: It's a lifesaver. Trust me.
I'm thirteen, actually I forgot I was fourteen. Still that is info I don't need to hear at this stage. Period. Once we start talking, it's hard to say bye.
Michael: I'd kill the bastard who took your innocence.
One, who did we get here? To feeling warm inside to innocence.
Valerie: You better mean future husband.
Michael: Yeah. But that could be me.
Valerie: True through. You never know. Getting married with you, I can kind of imagine how that'd would go.
Michael: What's it like?
Valerie: Possibly fun. I can't picture us fighting.
Michael: I'm not really a fighter.
Valerie: Me neither, unless you don't buy me food or I'm on my period.
Michael: I can't imagine us having kids through.
Valerie: *Laughs* You're funny. Not happening.
I scolded down to find one of my conversation with Leah.
Valerie: My life is boring. Last year was kind of fun. Drama and crushes.
My mom made me attend some other class outside of school. I'm grateful no one from school attended the class. It was a class about safety in general. Being the stupid twelve year old I was, I fell in love with a boy a year younger than me. He had a cute baby face. I was really close to him at first and was able to call him my 'brother' for a while. Then I realized there was something else. I did stupid things like give him poems and sing to him. I thought we was returning me feelings by asking me out. I found out later it was only the make a girl he likes jealous. It broke my heart. It was fun though, you must think I'm crazy.
Leah: I know the story Valerie. I know you were head over heels with the dude. *Laughs*
Valerie: Right, one of my worst experiences. I fall in love too easily and that's a fact. You know how the rest of the story goes.
Leah: Damn straight. Valerie, its fine to fall in love quickly. I fell in love with Hunter at first sight so I feel you. But then start dating out of nowhere is not right alright? That... That takes time to do.
Valerie: Cute British accent dude? I don't think relationships is my thing. I mean I love the idea of falling in love, but relationships are hard to deal with. Thanks mom and dad for pointing that out. My parents set a good example on dating and marriage. Note my saracasm. I don't care about my spelling anymore, hahaha.
I can always rely on her for advice. She's much easier to relate to cause she's a girl. Leah has been through a lot, not as much as Michael. I'm going to miss everyone. Instead of saying bye, I just decided to stay silent for the time being. Leah, Michael, Brian, Julia, and we got a few new members of our family are in a group chat together. It's be long till they noticed I'm gone despite the fact I'm the only reason they know each other. I actually know Julia in real life. She used to be my neighbor but she moved to New York. I just realized I'll be able to meet her again. Julia added a few friends in the chat; Sabrina and Gloria.
Sabrina is one of the sweetest people on this planet. Quotes are her life. She can magically come up with beautiful poems. She can easily put a smile on your face.
Gloria is my weird and random best friend. I have the funniest and craziest times with her. I can relate with her. I can be the weirdest person when I'm with her.
I know both Sabrina and Gloria in real life. Everyone close to me always move somewhere far away. Sabrina's family had to move because her dad changed to a job in Virginia. On the other hand Gloria had to move Washington because the rest of her family was there. Gloria's aunt died and she was the only reason Gloria could stay in California. After that Gloria had to move back to Washington.
They'll probably wonder where I gone off to. When I fly to New York, the first thing I'd do is meet up with Julia. I'll just tell her to tell everyone else I'm just busy.
I'm not sure when I fell asleep, but by the time I woke up it was already five. It took me a while to drag myself down the stairs and pour myself a glass a Sprite. I heard the television in the background.
"Matthew is mom and dad making a third child?" I yelled.
"I hope not! You're already a hand full," Matthews shouted back.
I heard Matthews walk down the stairs. After the few weeks I was able to figure out who was walking down the stairs. Mom takes her time and she's very quiet. Dad also takes his time but his footsteps are loud. Matthew just skips steps. After we came back home, Ely was no where to be seen. I just predicted she ran away with her boyfriend. She is pregnant after all.
"So Valerie, when are we getting that puppy of yours. You let that poor puppy alone for two months," Matthew shook his head in disgrace.
I sighs, "We'll go after mom and dad makes a third child."
"You really want another sibling Val?" I heard dads voice at the top of the stair case.
"Nope, but I don't think I can stop you two from making one. If you do, please make a girl," I laugh.
"I want our new born sibling to be a boy," Matthew grinned.
"Where's mom?" I asked dad after he settled himself on the couch.
"Sleeping. We should get your puppy before it gets dark. We'll take Matthew with us. You're also planning on adopting a pet right Matthew?" dad answers.
I still can't believe this man is my father.
"Yeah," Matthew nods.
"Consider this as my birthday present for you two," dad smiles.
