Chapter Fifteen: "Oh My Gosh! Is The Floor Okay?"

"Whoa, your room is fucking girly!" Matthew exclaimed, once he opened my door.

"Good thing we're moving. I have been wanting to change the theme of my room. Now, can you please set me on my bed?" I asked.

I was getting sick of being carried.

"Let's just chill," Matthew whispered, placing me on my bed.

"Hell, that's how you end up with children. Get your facts straight,"

"Bitch, we are never going to bang," he laughed, plopping himself on my bed while I tried to get in a comfortable position. At that point, I regret ever saying anything. I keep on having to remind myself Matthew is my brother, but as always, I keep forgetting.

"Are brothers always like this? A bit caring and anxious?"

"I'm not sure, never been a brother up till up. All I know is that you're my adorable little sister," pinching my nose.

"You freaking weirdo," I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I'll be right back, I need to use the bathroom," making a quick exit towards the door.

"You do realize, I have a bathroom in my room right?" I shouted.

"Yes, but your ass was on that toilet," he yelled back.

"You're just worried you'd stink up MY bathroom!"

No answer. He must have already made his destination.

Unknown POV:

I dialed Yuna's number, making sure I locked the door. After two rings, she picked up.

"How is Valerie?" she asked, without any greeting.

"Feisty, very. Let's continue with the plan Yuna,"

"As you wish. There may be side effects to this experiment,"

"Tell me what could be done so it won't do her any harm,"

"We will do what we can. Good bye Matthew," she bid her farewell and hung up.

Back to Valerie:

I was hiding behind my door, waiting for the right time to scare Matthew. It's been thirty minutes, and my legs were turning into jelly.

"I give up!" I cried, returning to my bed.

"I'm back!" he shouted, once he entered my room.

I glared at him. The exact moment I give up, he decides to show up.

"Good timing," I growled.

"So what time are we going to the church?" Matthew asked.

I glanced at the clock. 10:05am, it said.

"Don't question me on the way there. Just follow me. Now go get your shoes!" I urged him, getting my pair of Uggs.

He quickly ran down the hall to his room. I laughed when he tripped on himself.

"Damn it, that hurts," rubbing his nose.

"Oh my gosh! Is the floor okay?" I tried to keep my laughter in.

He turned his head to glare at me, I bursted into tears. "Just meet me downstairs, by the door," I held my stomach.

I quietly went down the stairs, trying to avoid that one step that creaks loudly. I wanted mom and dad to have their "quiet" session.

"Mission accomplished," I whispered once I stood beside the door.

"I'm coming!" I heard Matthew yell from the top of the staircase.

"Shhhhh!" I hissed, pointing to the kitchen.

I'm happy the television was on.

Matthews mouth formed a O, then he nodded. Quietly, he tried to walk down the stairs. I forgot to warn him about the step that creaks loudly. Once he stepped on it, mom kept calling, "Matthew? Valerie? Is that you?"

I heard footsteps coming from the kitchen. I mouthed one word to Matthew; run. We made a run for it.

"Follow me!" I call.

Finally out the door, I ran to the back of the house and opened the gate leading to the forest. I quickly closed it since the backyard was visible to anyone in the kitchen.

"Whoa, I was not expecting this," Matthew rubbed the back of this neck.

"Like I said, don't ask any questions. I'll just take the responsibility to explain this whole  abandon church thing," I started to walk towards the big oak tree.

I walked around the tree, revealing a cobblestone pathway. It's like I entered another world when I come to this place.

"Alright, I'll start explaining," I glanced at Matthew.

He motioned me to continue.

"The abandoned church isn't quite abandoned. It's a ghost church that only appers every Sunday. It was made by our great-great-great-great-great-great-"

"Alright, I get it," cutting me off.

"Fine. Earl Bliss, was our grandfathers name. It was built for ghosts to get to heaven faster. It will continue to appear as long we keep the Bliss bloodline alive. Our blood is what keeps the church running. Earl thought it would be a good idea for Bliss siblings to marry each other and produce offspring,"

"I feel disgusted," Matthew said, scrunched his nose.

I nodded in agreement. "Mom broke that rule when she married Peter," I continued. "She has three opinions. Either marry her brother, marry Peter to save Vincent or dad, or just run away with Vincent. Since she didn't marry Uncle Roger Bliss, our family thought she was a disgrace but we're still a Bliss. That's one reason why we don't interact with everyone,"

I heard rustling in a nearby bush, I stopped at my tracks. Good thing Matthew didn't notice and continued to talk.

"So if mom did marry her brother. . ." Matthew trailed off, breaking a branch from a small tree.

"Yes, that means we'd be wed. Gross," I shuddered at the thought. "This is just a thought about moms divorce with Peter. I know it's a bit off topic but it's been bothering me. Care to listen?" I asked, continuing to walk slowly.

"I'm your vent, go ahead," he smiled.

"I feel like there's more to mom and Peters divorce. I know Peter threatened mom to marry him, but why? Unless he know she was a Bliss and he knew her feelings for Vincent, he might have used that to his advantage. If Peter and mom actually did do it, then that would give Peter the ability to see ghost too,"

"So that means dad could also see ghost and so can I," he confirmed. "But didn't mom say things happened between Peter and her during their honeymoon?"

"Alright, that would explain why Peter is after me," I whispered. "Hey! You're questioning me!" I sneered at Matthew.

"Come on, let me also ask questions," he pouted.

"Just don't ask too many questions and ask why, why, why, alright?"

He nodded, "So why do you think Peter is after you?"

"I'm able to see under the vail. I understand what mom said. Not only can I see and hear ghost, I can reach out to other creatures like animals,"

"You're able to talk to animals? Awesome!" Matthew exclaimed.

"Animals use telepathy. So to confirm, they're not actually speaking. Now this has also been bothering me lately,"

"What?" Matthew questioned.

"Dawn! Night! I already know you've been following us!"

Behind a trunk to out left, a white Pomeranian and a black Husky, appeared in front of us.
