8: Reunion

He laughed.

He freaking LAUGHED.

I'VE NEVER HEARD HIM LAUGH BEFORE.

What the heck was that about?! I'm so confused!

I just started at him with dreadful eyes. Who knows what he's laughing at. It's not like he's laughing at my prep talk.

Oh my god.

My eyes widened in shock. "Did you—Did you hear.. ?"

He somehow managed to nod his head while laughing. He looked like he's going to pass out soon. Holding his stomach and the tears and all.

At that instant I felt like my cheeks were on fire. And I prayed to god that the floor beneath me would open and swallow me in to the 95th floor of hell so I'll never see the face of the earth ever again. Or a mysterious creature would fly from the mountains and eat me alive. Please god, you pick.

"You're hilarious! I haven't laughed like this in years!" He finally calmed a little from his laughing frenzy.

Hilarious? That's a first.

I gritted my teeth and formed a thin line with my lips. Well then. If my idiocy makes him happy then so be it. (Note the sarcasm).

"But you really haven't seen a man shirtless? What about idols?" He asked me with a glint of amusement in his eyes and a playful smirk across his lips. I had to stop and think for a while to take in everything he just asked me.

He seems like a different person now. What happened to the silent Leo and what have you done with him?!

"What you liked me better when I didn't speak?" He laughed again.

WHAT THE HECK I HAVE TO STOP SAYING THINGS OUT LOUD.

GET A GRIP MIHA.

"But you haven't answered my question. You haven't seen a man shirtless before?" He asked again, smiling.

I scratch my head. "Well.. On the TV maybe.." I stared down at my nails to avoid looking at him with an automatic pout on my lips.

"Well it's okay. We're married so you can look at me all you want."

I looked up at him, surprised. Did I hear right?

And then he winked.

HE FREAKING WINKED. WAIT WHAT.

I sucked in a breath.

"I'll go get something to eat and drink from downstairs." He said with mischief twinkling in his eyes. Or maybe I just imagined the whole thing but either way I found it really hot.

When he finally left the room I let go the breath I was holding. My cheeks were burning and it suddenly felt like the sahara desert. Like a huge storm just passed. But oh no. He'll be back. Then what? How will I face him?!

I should just die now. But first I should take a shower. I don't want to smell bad on my dying moment.

After a quick shower I realized Leo still wasn't back yet. I was thankful. I quickly pick another flowery dress to wear for now. I don't know what I'm going to wear to the club because I only brought flowery dresses (it was mother-in-law's idea). Maybe I should ask Jinhee when the time comes. It's too late to go shopping now.

Then I wait. It's been half an hour he should be back now. Oh god. Does he feel awkward too after what happened?

I mean my mother did say that he was a very happy-go-lucky person before. So maybe what I saw just now was the actual Leo? And not the I-just-got-divorced-from-the-love-of-my-life-and-now-I'm-forced-to-marry-a-random-idiot Leo. Now that I think about it, I'm glad this happened.

Wait. Does this mean I'm getting laid tonight?

Naah. We're going to the club.

Crap that reminds me I still don't have a dress! And Leo is still not within sight so maybe I can sneak out and borrow a dress from Jinhee and come back. Leo'll be back by then.

I opened the door and found the corridor was empty. Was jinhee's room 209? I think it was.

I knocked on the door softly first a few times. When I saw that she wasn't opening I knocked harder.

"Yah! Bastard shut it! I said I'm Coming!" I heard a very annoyed Jinhee yell from inside in korean and it brings a smile on my face. I've only known this girl for a while and I want to be best friends with her. Ridiculous, I know.

The door suddenly jerked open followed by a frowning Jinhee in a bathing robe and a towel across her head.

However, her scowl eased as she saw who the culprit was.

"Oh it's you." She smiled instead. "Come in. I was showering. And I thought you were those stupid room service."

I entered her room which was a bit smaller than ours but mirrors the same theme. I sat at the edge of her white sheeted bed and explained my problem.

"I don't have a dress." I really don't like beating around the bushes.

"Sorry?"

"For the club. I don't have a dress. Unless you think anybody will take me seriously if I wear a yellow dress with sunflower pattern on it."

She closed her eyes and put her thumb and index finger over chin, like those philosopher statues. Her expression looked like she's trying to solve the mystery of the universe.

"This is a grave problem indeed." She said.

It took me 10 seconds to realize she was being sarcastic.

I grabbed a pillow off her bed and threw it at her as she burst out laughing.

"Be serious! Jebal!"

"Okay okay. It's just that you looked so grim like it was the end of the world. I couldn't help it." She laughed. "Well as for the solution..." She dragged her suitcase from beside the dressing table and layed it down on the floor. I heard her open the zipper so I lay on my chest on her bed and crane my head from the egde of the bed to see what she was getting out of her bag.

Her suitcase was filled with clothes, clothes and some more clothes. All looked fashionable and some sparkly too. They all basically looked night club material. I stared in awe.

"Do you run a shop or something?" I asked in amazement.

"I should. Shouldn't I?" She grinned proudly.

At first glance Jinhee looks like a tomboy and a hard working woman. Who knew she had such a hobby? She's like a cinderella who transforms at night.

"Do you go to night clubs alot?" I asked, suddenly feeling like a child.

She just smiled. "Not alot. But when I do I make sure all the boys are kissing my feet."

Wow. She doesn't even look like she's lying. It must be true then. I mean, she IS pretty. And with make up on she'll look like an idol.

"I believe you. Looks like I came to the right person."

"Yep. It's your lucky day! Because I'm about to make you so desirable, that even that boring husband of yours will be pumped up to max!" She smirked.

****

I quickly got out of Jinhee's room, making a lame excuse that I'll take a nap. Not gonna lie, her offer sounded really good but the last sentence was really unnecessary. I mean she doesn't even know Leo. Even if Leo is boring she didn't have to say it like that. And her choice of words just made me blush even more..

I have decided I'll take on her offer and truly enjoy this night without any kind of interruption. I'll drink and I'll handle it like a man!... Well.. Or a Woman. I'm 20 for God's sake. It's time to grow up.

I was so absorbed into my thoughts i didn't even notice untill I lightly bumped into someone.

"Oh I'm so sorry." I quickly apologized.

"It's okay. " A familiar voice said.

Then we both looked at each other,

"You!" we both said in unison and broke into radiant smiles.
