4: Fated To Love You ?

Somehow me and Hongbin clicked. When he stopped talking about himself, we actually had a proper, long, meaningful conversation.

I ended up telling everything about myself too, well.. Except the arranged marriage part offcourse. But i didn't say anything about dating Leo either. I kind of skipped the whole thing. Thankfully, he got the message and didn't ask anything of it.

I felt guilty for judging him too soon, he was actually a good person. Turned out he could actually listen just as well as he could speak.

"Attention all the passengers, we're about to land.."

"Oh, time flew by so fast I barely noticed." Comments Hongbin.

"Right." I agree.

From the corner of my eye, I could sense Leo taking his headphone off and turning off the screen. Finally.

After landing, we wait for everyone to get off. Leo wasn't moving either so I guess he hates rushing to get out of the plane too. Hongbin sweetly waits with us.

"Do you need help with the bag?" He asks as I get up. Offcourse I do but I couldn't ask him that again. He's basically a stranger (even though I know every single detail about his life). Besides, I'm not here with hongbin, I'm here with my husband. He should be the one assisting me with everything. However Leo doesn't look like he has any desire to help me, as he gets past me and gets his bag from the compartment opposite to mine.

What was it that mother-in-law said? Oh yeah. Between a man and his wife, the wife is always in charge. If I don't take the lead from the beginning, I'd always be under his shoes for the rest of my life. I need to show him who's the real boss here. Make him abide by the rules I make. That's right. I'm the woman in this relationship. I'm his legal wife!

"Hello? Miha-ssi? Do you need help with the bag?" Hongbin asks again, snapping me back to reality.

"Huh? Um no." I mindlessly reply as I stare at Leo getting his passport from his backpack.

"Okay well I'm going ahead then. See ya. It was nice talking to you." Hongbin smiles brightly at me but I barely notice. I mutter back something like "See you!"

My whole concentration was in how to sound authorative enough and make Leo litsen to everything I say. Okay maybe "everything" is saying too soon. But to get him to help me get the bag down, for starters.

"Leo!" I blur out. Crap.

He looks up with his annoying blank face. Not even startled. Jerk.

"Uh.. Could you.. Um.. Get the bag down?" I point at the compartment. "Please." I nervously add.

Seriously Miha! What in the world was that?!!! You sounded like you were pleading!

If he doesn't help me it'd be sooo awkward.

But he saves me the embarrassment and gets the bag down. He even hands it to me. Wow. Great improvement! Good work, Miha! You aren't a lost case after all!

"You're a lost case." My mother-in-law sighs over the phone.

"B-But he handed it to me! He helped me! Isn't that something?" I whine.

"No idiot! You'd have done the same thing if you were in his place. He's a kind boy. He will help anyone if they ask. It doesn't mean anything!"

"Omo! Ottoke? What do I do then?" I panick.

"We go according to the plan." She says firmly.

"Um.. I've been thinking.. Isn't it too soon? I mean we barely know each other and um I'm not sure if I'm ready..."

"What are you saying! That's your best shot! If you wait for him to come to you, you'll be too old. Come on! Do as I say and you'll see! Once you end up with a child he'll fall for you in no time!"

"Uh... Isn't it.. I don't know.. Illegal?"

"Idiot! You guys are married! There's nothing wrong! Just do it!"

Does she think this is some Kdrama? Fated to love you or something? Tch.

"Umm...I'll think about it.. Oh my battery is low bye!" I quickly hang up and take a deep breath. I look around for any sign of Leo, thank god he hadn't returned yet from the coffee shop.

How can I do it? It feels morally wrong. How can I drug my own husband to get pregnant? What kind pathetic looser does that make me? What's worse? That i can't even pull this off!

I'm doomed. Shall I start an affair?

What are you thinking! Shut up!

A cup of coffee appears at the table and I could sense someone sit beside me.

Speaking of the devil....

"Umm... Whens our taxi coming?" I ask him.

"In a few minutes. " He sips on his coffee.

"Oh." I take my coffee and start drinking it too.

A few minutes later Leo announce that the taxi was here and we could go to our hotel. I heard that Bali was a beautiful place and I belive it too. But somehow during the trip to the hotel, I don't manage to glimpse at the beauty outside at all. Because the nervousness of what I'm going to do next was killing me inside. Should I go with mother-in-law's plan? Or should I take the morally right way and wait for his heart? This is like a life and death moral dilemma...

"We're here!" The taxi driver announce in english.

As we get out of the car, I thank the driver. Leo grabs the bags from the trunk.

I was stunned by the beauty around me. This isn't a hotel! It was one of those sea side little houses I only saw on the Internet. Never thought I'd ever be able to see one in real life.

It was a beautifully designed building. Not big though. A one story glass building, trees left and right (some inside?) . There was the ocean right behind it. Wait... Is that a little hut by the ocean? So cute! Omo! Were they the "love shack" I heard about? I could feel heat rise to my cheeks.

I suddenly realize I've been standing for a while and Leo probably left me! I desperately look around for him and oh thank god! There he is! I jog and catch up to him.

Front of the house stood a man. He creepily smiles at us as he hands us our keys and points at the of little hut by the ocean and then winks?!!

I look at Leo for explanation, he still looked as blank as ever but he shakes his head a little. Is that a sign that he's confused as well?

Why are we living in a house anyway?! I thought we're only here for a few days?

"You live here for a while." The local man said in english. His hair was neat, and he was dressed in local clothes. However his accent was thick, evidence of a non native English speaker.

"For how long?" I ask to confirm.

"A week maybe? As long as you like." He says. "My wife brings you vegetables. And meat. She comes to you every morning. You write her a list. The beach is yours to use. Nobody disturbs. That shack is good for watching sunset. Very pretty." He gived off a toothy smile.

Wow. She rented the whole beach?! It must have costed alot. Wow. Rich people are seriously on a different level. It's no joke.

The local opens the front door and invites us in. I curiously follow in alongside with Leo.

It was smaller than I expected, but really cozy. A living room, a kitchen, a small dining table for two and a door which I suppose leads to the bedroom. What's got me the most excited was the back yard. Because almost the whole house was made of glass I could see the the "yard" (it was more like the size of an oversized balcony). I then realize the house was built in high grounds, meaning from the backyard if I jump I'd fall straight into the sea. It was in a way on a not so high cliff.

I could see some wooden chairs and a table. To observe the sea I guess. Oh and not mention all the trees. Looks like a botanical garden. Maybe this mans wife comes and takes care of them?

"Please rest. I come back in evening. Food is in the fridge. You can't find transportation here. I'll bring you some bike tomorrow. Or you call a taxi when you need. " He grins again and exits, leaving me and Leo to take in our current situation.

We're in a little dream house by the sea, which his family spent a fortune to rent. My mother-in-law wants me to get knocked up by his son who hates me.

Just great.
