- Chapter 5 -

Touou match, A Megane and A Blondie

"Ayano" a whisper came to my ear as I felt a hot breath exhaling and inhaling against my neck. I twirled around, keeping my eyes still closed.

"Please, wake up" The next sentence was followed by a small shake of my arm which made me groan slightly and open my eyes which I bet were still red from last night. I drifted my eyes on the figure which was standing right in front of me, wearing a simple T-shirt and still the pajama's pants.

As I looked more closely, I noticed that Tetsu was in front of me and staring me with those blue orbs of his. "T-Tetsu-nii..." I whispered in despair as I remembered last night's events, which were still a little blurry.

---Flashback---

The door closed with a loud thump behind me as I managed to sob quietly and not wake up my now sleeping brother. I took off my shoes and was ready to climb up the stairs, when someone gripped tightly my wrist.

I left a small shriek of surprise as I turned my head, only to see the still half-asleep figure of my brother standing behind me while holding my shaking hand. My upper lip was still quivering; something that showed my nervousness.

"Ayano, why are you up so late?"  his still sleeping and lazy voice asked as he rubbed his eyes in a childlish way.

I bit my lip a little hard which prevented me from saying something stupid-- like the truth. "E-eto, I was out with some friends. No need to worry, Tetsu-nii" I replied quickly at him.

The expression of disbelief was still on his face; sign that he could make me tell him what was going on so I did what I everyone would have done at the moment. I somehow managed to free my hand from his tight grip and I run up to my room, locking the door behind me.

My body moved its own and fell on the bed while new tears started strolling down my already red face.

---End of Flashback---

I swallowed quietly, trying to avoid the subject that my brother was going to bring up. He was ready to open his mouth when the monotonous sound of the bell was heard, cutting off our awkward aura. 

"I'm taking it" Tetsu replied and left my bedroom to open the door. As he left, a small sigh of relief escaped my lips, thinking about how lucky I was. 

I stretched my muscles and rubbed my eyes tiredly, trying to cope with the sleepiness which was overtaking me. I dragged my feet to the kitchen where my brother was sitting on the table with another, muscular person.

"Ohayo, Taiga" I greeted the red-haired basketball player with a small yawn as he turned his face towards me.

"Oi, Ayano" he greeted back with a small nod of his head.

I walked up to my brother and hugged him from behind- an old habit of mine. "Ohayo, Tetsu-nii~" I told him in a sweet tone as a small smile spread across my face.

"Ohayo, Ayano. Do you want me to make you some tea?" he asked politely and I nodded in agreement, giving him a small kiss on the cheek as a reward for making my tea.

My eyes blinked tiredly and I threw myself on a chair. As Tetsu prepared my tea, I turned my attention to Taiga. "Taiga, how come and you payed us a visit? It's 8 in the morning, ya know"

Taiga scratched the back of his head awkwardly. "Actually, Kuroko called me early this morning, telling me to come here because he didn't want to walk alone when we will meet up with the rest of the team. You know, today we are playing a match with Touou"

My eyes widened slightly at the mention of a basketball match and I turned my blue eyes at Tetsu. But as soon as I looked again at Taiga, I bursted into a hysterical laughter.

A nerve popped on his head and his eye twitched in annoyance. "Oi, what is so funny about me?"

Once I wipped away my tears which were created by the unstoppable laughter, I pointed at his bloodshot eyes with black circles surrounding them. "Your eyes! It is like you drank a bottle of sake and had a hangover!! Ahahahaha!!" I explained with my muffled voice as I began a new round of laughs.

A cup of hot tea was placed in front of me by the bluenette who sat near me. "Actually, when we have an important match or event, Kagami-kun stays awake the whole night" Tetsu explained while a small red tint of embarassment appeared on Taiga's face.

I left a small chuckle at his reaction and took a sip of my tea, trying not to burn my tongue. "Well, can I come and watch the match? I really want to see Tetsu-nii's abilities on basketball and what he is capable of~!"

We chatted a little more and then we changed in our clothes for getting ready for the match. Although it didn't seem so, I could feel both of the boys' nervousness and anxiousness about the upcomming match. 

We said our goodbyes as our ways parted-- they were going to meet up with the whole team while I was going to buy them some energy drinks and some food for after the match. I entered the convenient store and started wondering around the hallways, searching for the required sports drinks. 

When I finally had found the perfect ones, I looked up at them. They were on a self above me and I stretched my body to catch them, also standing on my tip-toes, but it didn't work. I tried multiple times, but each try was a failure. Suddenly, a hand extended and grabbed the energy drink I was aiming for, holding it right in front of me.

I looked at the person whose hand was holding the drink and I only saw a taller teen boy with dakr green hair and black square glasses looking at me. "You were trying to take this, am I right?" he asked as he pushed a little more closer the energy drink.

"Arigato" I mumbled politely and extended my hand to his, taking the bottle. Then it was when I found out that his fingers were wrapped with a kind of white tape. But this wasn't the only weird thing about him. In his other hand, he was holding a funny clown-in-the-box toy. 

I kept back myslef from laughing and pointed at the other bottles. "Erm.. would you mind if you were going to help me took some others too?"

...

I placed the sports drinks bottles on the paycheck while the guy from before helped me carry them. He previously accepted my offer and helped me to reach the other bottles. The cashier put them in two plastic bags and I payed for them, then took one of them bags while the guy took the other.

When we were out of the store, I stopped in my tracks and stopped to look at the guy. He seemed familiar to me for some reason- yet, I can't recall any memories or connection I could have with him. "Thank you a lot, again" I thanked him shyly and took the other bag from his hand.

"No problem" he replied, his serious expression never leaving his face. "Actually, I could help you carry them until your destination, since the bottles are many in number. Is the place you are going to close from here?"

I grinned sweetly at him. "Yeah, I'm actually going to watch the Touou VS Seirin match, in Inter High" I explained to him.

"Those bags are for my brother's team and I think they will need them, since this match is very important and difficult for them. Also, I don't think I will be able to carry them until the stadium before I collapse from exhaustion or drink all the drinks from suffocating~"

The megane [1] stared at me dumbfounded, like he had remembered something. "Wait a minute... That's why I thought you were looking familiar... Are you Tetsuya Kuroko's sister?!"

As a reply, I extended my hand towards him while a wide smile spread across my face. "Ayano Kuroko, nice to meet you~!"

The guy sighed slightly and adjusted his glasses with his middle fingers, then shaking my hand gently. "I'm Shintaro Midorima, nice to meet you" he replied with his deep voice.

"Then, nice to meet you, Midorima-kun~~" I replied to him in my deredere [2] mode and gave him a closed-eye smile. But when I opened my eyes again, he had already started walking towards the Inter High's destination, leaving me alone with the bag I was holding before.

"Oi, chotto matte [3] !!!"

...

 When we finally arrived, the match had already began. Seirin was making some succesful attacks, but they weren't enough against Touou. Their defense wasn't as strong as Seirin's, but their offense was absolutely unbreakable and powerful. Midorima and I were commenting in some parts and he was wearing a pair of black sunglasses for an unknown reason.

"Midorimacchi?" a voice asked which made Midorima jump up slightly and look over my shoulder where a male with blonde hair and a school's uniform was staring at us.

Midorima seemed to be startled. "How did you find out?!"

Both me and the male sweatdropped at Midorima's stupid question. "Are you an idiot? Why did you wear sunglasses? You're such a disgrace! Take them off immediately!" the blonde-haired male stated in a serious tone.

"So that's how it is... You told everybody you wouldn't come, but you still did!"

"That's not it!" Midorima replied in annoyance. "I was just taking a walk around here!"

"Walking around this far from your house?"

Finally, Midorima gave up in giving to the male useless excuses and focused back on the match, after he changed his sunglasses to his usual ones. The gaze of the other male fell on me and by his stunned face it seemed that he had the same thinking as Midorima-- that I was looking a lot like my brother.

Before I could say something, the male started giggling like a small girl and pointed at me. "Are you Midorimacchi's girlfriend? God, I never thought that Midorimacchi would have had a gilrfriend or even a conversation with a girl~!!"

 Purple lines appeared on my head and Midorima popped a nerve. "She is not my girlfriend, Kise! She is an acquaintance of mine and she is Kuroko's sister that I accompanied here so she could watch her brother's match!"

The boy who was named Kise looked at me with his widened orbs. "Wait... You are Kurokocchi's sister? I didn't know that Kurokocchi had even a sister!!"

I sighed mentally as I thought about my absence from Japan during my elementary and middle school years but in the end, I cracked up a smile and gave him a small wave. "Hai, I'm Tetsu-nii's sister, Ayano Kuroko. Nice to meet you~!"

"I'm Ryota Kise, Kurokocci's and Midorimacchi's friend and former teammate~!" he stated in a happy tune as he made the peace sign to me.

Before I could ask him about the 'former teammate' relationship he had with Tetsu, the loud noise which came from the match's grand clock made us jump up and look at the score. As I had noticed from before, Seirin hadn't make a lot of progress and they were currently losing from Touou.

...

Finally, the match ended with the crushing loss of Seirin, something that made me fall in despair. Everyone who was in the team was crying and I had to bite my lip so I could not burst into tears too. I walked out of the huge stadium with Midorima and Kise, only to face the depressed Seirinb team.

"Tetsu-nii!" I exclaimed as I ran up to my brother, looking at him worriedly. 

A small frown could be seen through his steady and blunt mascade but I didn't want to make him sadder than he was. Everyone stared at us, wanting obviously to know my reaction about their disruptive loss.

Well, my reaction was unexpected. I puffed my cheeks and looked at the team. "Now, now, folks. Why are you looking at me like that? Yes, you lost a match in Inter High and now you won't be able to play this year but... this isn't the end of the world. Actually, this loss will make you consider basketball in a more proffesional way and will make you develop your skills so you can win the afterwards matches! Now, cheer up or I will take out my paper fan!"

I finished my long talk with a giggle as everyone stared at me dumbfounded. The first one who broke the awkward silence was no one else than Seirin's captain, Hyuga-senpai.

"Idiots! Ypou heard what she said, move on!! We will surely win our next matches, no matter what!" he exclaimed and bright smiles appeared on everyone's faces. 

Seirin is ready now for a new start.

[2] Deredere is a word which is used in manga and anime to say that someone is very happy, always cheerful.

[3] Chotto matte means "Wait!"

Wow, this chapter was longer than I expected O.o Sorry for the long time no update, I had to study for some tests in school and of course for the upcomming exams!!! D: But I updated now, so it doesn't matter! :D
