Chapter 30

Hopefully I can get this book done soon. I'd like to see how things end since I don't actually know myself...or do I?

(Y/n) rolled to the side and quickly got up from the sand to avoid Eun's and Ain's attacks. They, along with Add, Eve, Lu, and Ciel, we focusing on taking him down or snapping him out of what they assumed to be a trance. What they didn't know was that (y/n) was fully aware of his actions but simply could not control them. Elsword, Elesis, Rena, Raven, Chung, and Aisha were all focused on Zhu but they were stuggling.

Zhu kept using his speed and abilities to his advantage. If they got too close, he'd dissipate and reappear in a different spot. If they were too far, he'd close the distance with a rush attack. If they seemed like they were abput to successfully land an attack, he'd make (y/n) stand in front of him knowing that they wouldn't harm him. The battle was truly frustrating and (y/n) already had several scratched and a few burn marks from Zhu using him as a human sheild.

Not only that but he was dealing some pretty critical hits on the group fighting him. Ciel had taken most of his attacks for Lu's sake and Eve wasn't faring well against (y/n) extreme offense. Add kept having to pull both Eve and Eun out of the battle to keep them from being hit by anything fatal. (Y/n) and Zhu were an evenly balanced pair to say the least. Well...that was if (y/n)'s well-being wasn't taken into consideration.

"Snap out of it! Can't you see we're trying to save you?" Add snapped after having to pull Eun from his range. "If I could stop what I'm doing, don't you think I'd have done so already," (y/n) snapped back although it was only a thought. What surprised him was that he was able to frown as this thought was formed. In fact, for a moment (y/n) wasn't moving at all and found himself in complete control as he stared at Add in slight confusion.

Everyone around him stopped as well but seconds later, Zhu was in control again and had (y/n) dart in front of him to stop an incoming attack. Since this was an anticipated action, (y/n) wasn't harmed by what would have been the incoming attack but he did see that several ideas were sparking within his allies' minds. They weren't the only ones with ideas either. (Y/n) had realized that the only reason that Zhu had lost control wasn't because he had almost been attacked.

For a moment, (y/n)'s single thought of irritation had been enough to overpower Zhu's overall control. Why? (Y/n) didn't know, but he wanted to try anything he could to free himself. Directly fighting Zhu's control didn't work but indirectly fighting his control did work yet (y/n) had no idea how he would succedled in pulling that off. "Don't try getting any crazy ideas. I can still hear your thoughts, remember," Zhu growled within his mind just before sending him to fight again.

"Yeah, thanks for reminding me," (y/n) unintentionally thought as he dodged one of Ain's attacks and lashed out on him. Ain didn't dodge the attack and simply stood there and took the hit. His actions shocked (y/n) but he didn't realize that the shock was another thing he needed to be freed from Zhu's control. "You idiot! Why would you stand there like that?!" (y/n) found himself saying rather than thinking.

He surprised himself as well as those around him who weren't trying to help Ain out at the monent. Zhu's growl of fustration was what made (y/n) realize what was going on. It was also then that he once more lost control and was forced to do Zhu's bidding, another thing he was tired of. "Oh no you don't!" Elesis and Elsword both shouted at the same time as Zhu began to run. The fox must have realized it.

The only way to defeat the El Search Party was...well, the couldn't be defeated. Zhu's only options were to give up or retreat and it was obvious that Zhu wouldn't be giving up any time soon. Eun suddenly reverted back to Ara whoch wasn't a very important detail bit it caught both Zhu's and (y/n)'s attention. Ara was the most threatening out of the group simply because of her connections with Eun.

"You aren't getting away!" she said to Zhu. He had to dodge both Aisha's fireballs and Chung's missiles which slowed him down only a bit. He disappeared and reappeared not too far away since (y/n) was still pretty close to the search party. "Give up, Zhu. You know you can't beat all of them and they clearly won't stop chasing us," (y/n) thought.

"I refuse. If they are all required to defeat me, then I'll get rid of some. If they won't stop fighting, they'll just fight until they have no energy left. I can do this all day," Zhu snapped as he made his second attenpt to escape. This time, he was stopped by a rain of arrows and Ciel's gunfire. Lu followed up with close range attacks that all missed but the attacks were only a distraction. "This ends now!" Ara shouted to draw attention to herself as she dashed towards Zhu's weak point.

He was left unable to defend unless he disappeared and it seemed that he couldn't get too far away from (y/n) so that wasn't an option. Just as (y/n) had expected, Zhu used him as a sheild again just before Ara's spear attack could land. Within seconds, (y/n) was in control of himself again but it was under very uncomfortable circumstances. Therebwas blood, confusion, and the strange feeling of gratitude in the place of what should have been betrayal.

"Now!" Ara yelped. Eve and Raven attacked Zhu while he had been distracted and Elesis followed up with a clean cut right across Zhu's side. The fox and (y/n) both went down. The only difference was that everyone immediately crowded around (y/n) who was still quite shocked. At the last moment when Ara should have pulled back and changed direction, she intentionally stabbed (y/n) right in the heart.

Of course she knew what had to be done and it seemed that the search party hadn't noticed exactly where (y/n) had been stabbed for they were telling themselves to get (y/n) back to Sander so that Vapor could heal him with her various concoctions. The odd thing was that (y/n) didn't feel like he was dying at all. In fact, he didn't feel a thing and as his consciousness faded, he saw Ara looking rather proud despite having just stabbed him.
