Chapter 19
Back again with another chapter. Sorry about the super late update. I really have no excuse to be honest so...

"Wait, wait! Calm down. It's just Zhu," (y/n) said as his obsidian black fox friend stopped a short distance in front of the group. "You need to come with me. I'll get as many of you there as quickly as I can and return for the rest," Zhu said. "Right, hold on a second Zhu," (y/n) said holding a hand up to stop Zhu from speaking although the fox could speak regardless.
"He said something just now?" Ain asked for only (y/n) could hear Zhu's voice. "Not the issue right now. We need to hurry up and help everyone. Who's going with Zhu for the first trip? He'll get you there quickly and come back for the rest of us. I have to stay behind and guide whoever stays behind," (y/n) said. "The situation is dire. They're trying to immobilize Behemoth by shooting it with the cannons of several flying ships," Zhu said.
"The flying ship cannons aren't working?! How big is this thing?" (y/n) said turning his attention to Zhu. "Flying ships? Ships can fly?" Chung said in amazement. (Y/n) sighed. "We really don't have time for this," he muttered. With Zhu nearby, his senses were back to normal but the stress of the situation was making his headache worse. "Karis has Vapor," Zhu spoke.
In an instant, (y/n) went ablaze in a deadly aura having released the full package, glowing soul seeing eyes and all. "Guide them. I'm going ahead," he growled. "What happened to getting there faster with Zhu?" Rena said causing (y/n) to sigh. He was letting his anger get the best of him. "Right. Chung, Rena, Elesis. You three go with Zhu. He doesn't bite unless you provoke him. Don't question anything, just go. Now isn't the time for arguements," (y/n) said, pointing at Zhu.
Thankfully, none of them had anything to say and went over to Zhu without a problem. "Zhu, you better be quick. I swear if anything happens to Vapor..." (y/n) said as Zhu lay in the sand to allow for passengers. "We'll kill everything in sight, I know. We've almost done that before. Don't let your anger get the best of you again," Zhu said as (y/n) let go of his released power.
The trio that he sent with Zhu were ready to go and Zhu gave (y/n) a nod before heading off. "Share whatever intel I you have with them. They'll need to know," Zhu's voice said within (y/n)'s mind as he got further away. "We should quickly follow. There isn't much time if Behemoth is heading to Sander," Raven said. "Right. Then let's go," (y/n) agreed, somewhat relieved that Raven wasn't still worried about their past argument.
Perhaps it was wise to separate him and Chung since they were the ones about to start a fight earlier. "Air ships are efficient ways to travel in this sea of sand. They have high powered cannons that could destroy an entire village if fired enough. Apparently there are several surrounding Behemoth and even they can't stop it. It likely has something to do with Karis but I can't be sure," (y/n) informed as they all ran to their destination.
"Karis awakened a beast that can't even be stopped by air ships? Then how are we supposed to stop it?" Ara asked. That was something (y/n) didn't have an answer to. "I don't know but Karis crossed a line that she shouldn't have and I'm going to make sure she never even thinks about doing it again," (y/n) said. They remained silent for the remainder of the trip, even when Zhu managed to meet them a second time leaving (y/n) to run alone.
When Zhu finally did come back for (y/n), he was already within sight of Behemoth and saw just how massive the creature was. The beast was finally immobile for the time being but that didn't mean it would stay that way. "They've faught Karis already but she managed to get away at the last moment. They're still inside of Behemoth. Vapor is with a completely different enemy though," Zhu informed as he stopped to let (y/n) catch a ride.
"What other enemy? Wasn't there just Behemoth and Karis?" (y/n) inquired. "Well yes but...someone we know made an appearance. Karis was working with him all along and we didn't know it," Zhu said. "Ikari," (y/n) growled, instantly figuring out who Zhu was referring to. Who else could Karis have been working with that would be a familiar face to him? "Yes but I don't know where he is. The team was already split up and looking for him so it would be impossible to find him beforebhe makes his escape. That's assuming he hasn't already left," Zhu continued.
(Y/n) glared at the beast ahead of him. "Trust me, he hasn't left yet. He's here for one reason and I'm sure you know what that reason is," (y/n) said. Zhu was now close enough to jump onto a nearby airship that was close enough to the ground. Zhu jumped onto the boat's side and sank his claws into the wood allowing (y/n) to leap onto the deck. As (y/n) somersaulted onto deck, Zhu disappeared and reappeared only when (y/n) had landed.
The crew looked at him in surprise but (y/n) gave them no time to question his presence. He didn't care if they saw him so he released every restrained bit of Zhu's power allowing him to see the souls of everyone. "Zhu, a demon's soul is different from a human's right? Tell me why I can't just look for Ikari that way," (y/n) said as he ran across the airship's deck planning on jumping onto Behemoth from there.
"Don't you think I'd have told you it was possible if you were able to do that? Behemoth's soul is blocking us from seeing the others. Lucky for you, I snagged a few souls while I was on my own solitary mission so you don't have to worry about that," Zhu said as he appeared just as (y/n) jumped off of the airship. He landed on Zhu and the fox sank his claws into Behemoth's skin to keep them from falling.
"You're just saying that because you don't want me to find him. What are you afraid of fighting him for," (y/n) said as he blocked the energy Behemoth's soul was radiating in order to see everyone else's souls. Zhu hadn't known that he could do such a thing and was surprised. "You can't go into this battle seeking revenge. It won't end well for us. Ikari means to kill you. If you, the last remaining member of the Zhen family, manages to die...," Zhu was saying.
"Yeah, I know. You can't stop anyone from sealing you away and gaining your power," (y/n) said before Zhu could say anything else. They were headed away from where everyone else must have been fighting Karis. Only two others were separated and fighting what could only be Ikari. "Zhu, I'm not getting revenge. As much as I want to, I'm not running into this battle to get revenge. I'll fight to win and once Vapor and the city of Sander are safe, then I'll get my revenge and make sure that Ikari suffers through every bit of it," (y/n) said.
If anyone were to see his eyes at that moment, they'd have seen the underlying murderous intent that displayed in them as a warning. Those that were no ally of his that tried getting in his way would get their soul stolen without hesitation. "Then I'll fight by your side until the end. I don't have much of choice anyway since I'm sort of in trouble about that Eun incident you had," Zhu said.
"You knew about that?!" (y/n) yelped in shock. "Yeah, I can still hear your thoughts even from far away. I've just never responded to you," Zhu nervously admitted. "All this time you've been ignoring me?" (y/n) asled in disbelief but Zhu gave no answer. "Zhu this isn't funny!" (y/n) said and yet Zhu still remained silent.
